Here are some photos of Prince William down at the pub on Friday night. He stopped by the Prince Albert pub in London to watch the England vs. Czech Republic match. It’s “work” because William is the president of the Football Association, and because he was drinking beer with people (just men, by the looks of it) who have been supported by charities like Mind and CALM, which is all part of William’s mental-health advocacy work through football or whatever. I wonder if he was talking to those guys about how he’s “bored” of racism again.
Meanwhile, William took part in one of Prince Charles’ many documentaries. Charles agreed to an ITV documentary called Prince Charles: Inside The Duchy of Cornwall, which will highlight the amazing things Charles did with the duchy scheme he inherited on his 21st birthday. When Charles inherited the duchy back then, it was already a successful and profitable collection of property and farms. But Charles transformed the duchy into an absolute beast, with a dedication on organic and sustainable farming, his mega-successful Duchy Originals line, and a lot more. William took part in the documentary to talk about what he’ll do when he becomes Prince of Wales and Duke of Cornwall.
The Duke of Cambridge has said he’s “not going to rock the boat,” when he inherits the Duchy of Cornwall estate from his father in a new ITV documentary to mark Prince Charles’ 50th year in charge. In the first episode of the two-part series (airing at 9pm on Thursday 24 October) Prince Charles, 70, talks about tutoring his eldest son for his future role and said he has had time to prepare himself for his upcoming responsibilities.
“He’s quite lucky because I found myself there at 21. I had a bit of baptism of fire really,” Charles said. “He goes and visits different parts of the Duchy of Cornwall, and so he is learning, I hope, as time goes by.”
Prince William, 37, appears briefly in the episode and said he has started to think about how he will inherit the Duchy, saying: “I’ve started to think about how I will inherit the Duchy one day,” William told farmers in Prince Charles: Inside The Duchy of Cornwall. “Well, rest assured I’m not going to rock the boat; I’ll do much the same as what my father’s doing. I’m not so into the architecture — that’s the only thing.” In the past year, the Duke has attended a number of private meetings in relation to the Duchy, as well as visiting some of its properties in Somerset.
The documentary will offer a behind the scenes glimpse into the Duchy of Cornwall, which covers more than 130,00 acres across 23 counties. The Duchy estate was established by Edward III to provide a private income for his son and heir to the throne Edward, later known as the Black Prince, and its purpose remains the same today.
The 60 minute episode will also show Charles living up to his reputation as a hands on royal – pruning, hedgelaying and celebrating his 70th birthday with tenants. Clarence House recently announced that he and his wife the Duchess of Cornwall will undertake a tour of New Zealand between Sunday 17 and Saturday 23 November, just days after the Prince celebrates his 71st birthday on 14 November.
I’m really looking forward to seeing this, I hope it ends up airing on PBS. Charles at 70 was honestly one of the best documentaries I’ve seen in years!! Charles is at times an old grump, an old flirt, and an ancient, eccentric hoot. He yelled at farm animals and flirted with the prettiest girls at the makeshift gym he set up in Scotland. He quietly allowed some over-excited youths to pray towards him. He was an absolute delight. And now we get to see hours of him talking about hedges and organic farming and community planning? My God. I’m here for it. As for William taking over… I mean, William can’t WAIT to get his hands on all of that duchy money. My guess is that William will not be very excited about the day-to-day operations of the duchy though. He’ll hire someone to take care of all of that.

Besides that, I thought it was a good idea. Sadly, we still live in a society in which men are not supposed to talk about their feelings and their own mental health. It really should be as normal as discussing football with friends!!

Of course hes not. He will not do anything to bring things into the 21st century. His father has worked hard to make the pow title mean something. William reminds me of the future kings of the past. Lazy, entitled, pompous and looks out for themselves. But England isnt going to change so they get the king they deserve. 🤷♀️
William is a lot like Edward VIII who is another heir to an heir who never took anything seriously and wasn’t known for working too hard.
And known for loving the royal funding but hating the royal job. Feckless, temperamental, lazy, resentful. William and the Duke of Windsor have a lot in common.
There’s really nothing to criticise here. The bored comment was specifically about racism in soccer and this is an event about men’s mental health? What’s wrong not having women at an event geared towards men? Sigh.
Of course he won’t rock the boat. He will also continue doing exactly what Charles did and will not bring any new ideas or vision. He is here to coast into that POW title and enjoy all the privileged that come with the position.
While refusing to take on big Prince of Wales projects like The Prince’s Trust. What happened to all his talk about wanting to forge his own path?

A question for British CBers. As I understand it, the Duchy of Cornwall is only inherited by the Prince of Wales and the last POW before Charles was Edward VIII. So since the Queen didn’t inherit the Duchy, who was responsible for maintaining it from the time of Edward until Charles was named POW?
The Duchy merges in the crown when there is no oldest son of the monarch who is also heir apparent.

^^^ This, exactly! I also thought it was sad that when he said architecture isn’t his thing he couldn’t add what IS his thing. Like, “I’m very excited to be able to focus on xyz and do for it the things my father did for organic farming/sustainability/Duchy Originals/etc.” He has no passions and no works that he’ll be able to expand upon in his next role. He’s so pathetic.
Maybe Charles can somehow separate Duchy Originals into its own entity and give it to Meghan to manage. I feel like she’d be great at that with her interest in food and sustainability. Oh well…
The wisest thing Charles can do is make sure these organizations can run on their own (which they probably already do, for the most part).
Of course he won’t that would require vision and work ethic something he does not possess. Charles has done amazing things in order to build on and surpass what he inherited unfortunately I do not forsee William doing that at all.
William won’t rock the boat cause that would require work. If the duchy continues in as is it’ll bring in enough money for him so I’d doubt he cares about what it actually does he just wants the money it produces.
It’d be nice if Charles could break off a piece for Harry, but inheritance rules probably prevent that.
I guess William’s whole vibe will be to draw a contrast with his brother and present himself as the old school option who says nothing, does nothing, etc. Of course that’s easy to do when the media and palace covers for you.

It was nice to see him give Prince Charles his due—Charles is a lot of things, but he really knows his stuff when it comes to estate management and farming. I did LOL at the description of Prince Philip’s “practical estate management” and Charles’ “romantic organic ideals.”

I hope his and Charles’ relationship is genuinely in a better place. It does make me believe that the RF is full-on transitioning behind the scenes, and has been for some time, for a post-Queen world.

LOL. Latest count has Kate around 80 engagements this year. Very few since June, most of them tennis and taking credit for other people designing and building gardens too expensive for children to visit.
Meghan is around 60, including maternity leave, a 5 month old, a tour, a capsule collection, guest editing Vogue, etc.
Last time i looked Megan’s engagements in SA had not been included on CC and neither had the capsule launch event or any of the meetings she’s had regarding capsule collection and Vogue issue….. BP have some catching up to do on CC! Wish i had an email address for them to let them know LOL!

I AM DYING TO SEE THIS DOCUMENTARY!!! Prince Charles at 70 was everything you said: an absolute DELIGHT. Prince Charles is so weird and wonderful. He deeply understands branding, his worth, his duty, and building for the future, he’s got a great work ethic. He’s totally entitled, because he literally is entitled. But, he works.
Both PW and PH need to accept and be grateful for their roles. PC was a total mess from age 21-40. He did, however, grow into his role and found happiness and peace in it. The Price of Whales trust is a BEAST. The Duchy of Cornwall is a BEAST. He took what was GIVEN to him and grew it. It’s a huge credit to PC.
PW has huge shoes to fill.

I just looked at the video and I am confused by his message. Is he trying to justify the blokes going to hang out at the pub to chat about their stress and anxiety for 90 minutes while their wives are at home with the three kids juggling homework and housework? I am baffled but I can see it now.

He’s actually not that bad looking in those photos and he has his mother’s smile. Still seems lacking in a firm purpose and passion project, and Kate is so insipid. He really should be more active in his role and channel his ambition more positively, instead of constantly “ preparing” and undermining other royals efforts.
