Scarlett Johansson actually wore one of the best dresses of the SAG Awards, in my opinion. I just can’t call my choice for best dressed because she f–ked it up with the styling, from her too-tight hair to her orange f–king lipstick. But Scar’s Armani gown was beautiful – fantastic color, great design and you could tell that Scarlett loved it. Too bad her style people hate her though. Anyway, I think it’s a little bit funny that Scarlett was one of the favorites coming into the awards season and she hasn’t won jack sh-t so far. But at least… she’s engaged to Colin Jost. CB joked that they have matching douchefaces and now I can’t unsee it.
Joaquin Phoenix is marching towards that Best Actor Oscar win and I go back and forth on it. Like, was his Joker performance “good” on a technical, acting level? For sure. But I have such strong, negative feelings about the movie that I just wish Phoenix wasn’t winning everything. At least make it competitive and give Adam Driver something! Anyway, here’s Joaquin. He’s been attending these shows with his sister and not Rooney Mara (although Rooney came to the Globes).

In that first photo, Scarlett looks like she’s about to burst out laughing or barf. Can’t tell which, take your pick! Probably unhappy about the styling. Killer dress though.
Yes. She almost has “lemon puss” as my mom used to call pursed lips that looked like that. The orange lipstick accentuated it in a bad way, as did the too slick/tight hair. The dress is heavenly on her, the color& cut suit her and fits beautifully. I wish she had done more of a wavy, “Old Hollywood” hairstyle.

Love the dress, hate the lipstick and hair. They could have gone simple with the hair without making it look so harsh. And that lipstick is garish.
And her forehead makeup is darker than the rest of her face. I’m beginning to believe the theory that her stylist hates her.
Ah yes, I believe that is called “contouring” (I’m being snide, yes) and I believe in 10 years or so we’ll all be looking back and laughing at these foreheads that are 3 shades darker than the rest of their faces.

The styling is on pointe- he lipstick draws the eye upwards & the dress just looks made for the Sag red carpet background, plus the hair doesn’t distract.
Absolutely hair is pulled way too tight, not flattering to her face at all!!! She wore this hairstyle at the Golden Globes as well UGH…..I guess someone is telling her it is flattering, but NO. She looks washed out from neck on up. She needs to have her hair down and filling out the sides of her face. She needs volume, not flatness, my God…..it couldn’t be more obvious. Her stylists are doing this ugh.
Scarletts dress is beautiful but I hate the back and the rhinestone straps. Very Miss America cliche back.

Scarlett missed the recent Santa Barbara award because of food poisoning for those thinking she looks like she’s sick, she probably is. Her dress is perfect imo. She was the only one wearing that color (that I saw) and it’s beautiful. Joaquin’s sister should be in the lineup of red dresses you posted earlier. Now it’s my favorite red of the night and there were a lot of good ones!

I also loathed A Marriage Story or whatever it was called. Laura Dern was so much better in Little Women…The whole Marriage movie was terrible, and was I the only one who (not really a spoiler unless you’ve already seen 3/4 of the movie, but beware, beware) was hoping Adam Driver would just bleed to death??
I hated it.
I found Marriage Story really clunky, overlong and not memorable at all. If anything, it just made me glad I’ve never been married/divorced, but I grew up with parents who would rip each other apart regularly, so, yeah, nothing groundbreaking or relatable in an enjoyable way. I was out when the script kissed the lead actors’ asses, making the babysitter blurt out “you’re both so attractive!” apropos of nothing to two actors who looked like hot garbage in that film… Thought Laura Dern was one of the only entertaining parts of it.
Every time Mr. Rice sees Joaquin, he goes “Ugh! That guy who was in love with his sister. I can’t stand him.” Mr. Rice is talking about Joaquin’s role in “Gladiator”. Mr. Rice is weird LOL!

The fit on ScarJo’s dress is damned near flawless.
That dress is just…..*chef’s kiss!* I can’t stand her, but she has never looked so pretty. I actually kind of like the orange-red lipstick on her, but the hair would have been perfect if it were in some Veronica Lake waves to go with the cut and era of the dress.

I’m seeing that “once in a lifetime dress”…with full-soft…side sweep waves……a bolder eye…(with lashes/mascara) and a softer lip color……
I actually really like the lipstick choice – a nicely bold contrast to the dress. But the hair is definitely a bit too severe. A looser coif would’ve done better.
