Family Guy’s Seth MacFarlane: Stewie is totally gay

tca fox party nn 060809
I’m probably totally alone in this, but Family Guy creator/writer/producer Seth MacFarlane gets me hot. I find him to be an extremely sexy man. I love his dark hair and dark eyes combined with his pale skin (that sexy John Cusack thing), and I adore his voice and his sense of humor. In the few interviews I’ve seen of him, his natural, deep, rich speaking voice drives me crazy, in a good way. If you’re a fan of Family Guy, which I am, Seth’s natural voice is pretty much used for the dog, Brian. Seth also does the voices for Peter, Stewie and Quagmire, amongst many others.

The character of Stewie, the baby with a head shaped like a football, is one of the best comic creations ever. Stewie speaks with an English affection, and he says some of the most outrageous things on television. Seth is out promoting the new season of Family Guy and his new series The Cleveland Show, and Seth’s telling-all about Stewie. In Seth’s mind, Stewie is totally gay. Which is not shocking in the least:

Seth MacFarlane is finally spilling the secrets of “Family Guy” — including the fact that, yes, baby Stewie is gay.

“We had an episode that went all the way to the script phase in which Stewie does come out,” MacFarlane, the show’s creator, says in the September issue of Playboy magazine.

“It had to do with the harassment he took from other kids at school. He ends up going back in time to prevent a passage in Leviticus from being written: ‘Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind. It is an abomination.’”

“But we decided it’s better to keep it vague, which makes more sense because he’s a 1-year-old. Ultimately, Stewie will be gay or a very unhappy repressed heterosexual. It also explains why he’s so hellbent on killing [his mother, Lois] and taking over the world: He has a lot of aggression, which comes from confusion and uncertainty about his orientation.”

In the issue — on stands tomorrow — MacFarlane also weighs in on why Protestant Lois seems to have a Jewish accent.

“Watch this season!” he says. “Lois finds out she is, in fact, Jewish.”

As for his advice to girls who are like Meg (the nerdy, unpopular sister), the funnyman says, “I guess maybe her parents aren’t as loving as they should be. As a result, I would say, ‘Your parents are a—holes. Get out of the house as soon as you can.”

The hit Fox show, which kicks off its eighth season on Sept. 27, has even generated a spinoff, “The Cleveland Show,” which focuses on main character Peter Griffin’s neighbor pal Cleveland Brown. Fans of the program will be happy to know that there will definitely be some crossover between the two shows.

But how did Cleveland — who some fans consider one of “Family Guy’s” least-interesting characters — score his own series?

“Cleveland is soulful and dimensional,” MacFarlane says. “Maybe he didn’t have enough to do [on “Family Guy”], and as a result, he came off dull. He makes a point of saying that in ‘The Cleveland Show’ pilot: ‘I’m sick of being just an accessory to Peter’s world. I’ve got my own s—t going on.”

[From Gatecrasher]

I wish I could hear Seth say these words. But maybe it’s better I don’t, because I wouldn’t be able to concentrate for the rest of the day. Anyway, Seth is on a career-high right now. He’s the highest-paid creator-writer working in television today, and Family Guy just got nominated for a ton of Emmys, even getting nominated in the “Best Comedy” category. Sigh. I want Seth.

    What the deuce!?!?

  2. anonymous says:

CB – he KIND of reminds me of that Brady Bunch guy married to that annoying model, hah!

  3. Kaiser says:

Thanks for the nice photo, CB! Isn’t he cute? I would nail him to the wall.

  4. Praise St. Angie! says:

I don’t know…he’s kind of cute but he’s got a Peter Brady thing going on…

  5. Firestarter says:

I think he is cute because he has boyish appeal and a great sense of humor.

  6. Celebitchy says:

I don’t know, he looks too innocent – like the youngest Brady!

  7. Cinderella says:

He’s a cutie. I’m not sure why anyone would think he’s a tool. Any video clip of him out and about in Hollywood shows him to be very approachable and funny.

The $500 mil he’s supposedly worth is also quite attractive.

  8. Tia C says:

Kaiser, I agree about Seth MacFarlane. Wouldn’t kick him out of my bed, either. And I also totally agree that Stewie is “one of the best comic creations ever.” Absolutely! Looking forward to checking out the Cleveland Show.

  9. Kaiser says:

NOOOO! Don’t compare him to a Brady!

Whatevs, bitches. More Seth for me.

  10. DeE says:

This show is a guilty pleasure…I so love it and American Dad and of course the Simpsons. I believe in preserving the innocence of children with all this world is doing to awaken their desires way tooo early, but I do let my eleven year old watch it with me, though there were a few times I had to change the channel. They push the envelope, but damn…..these three shows are soooo entertaining and funny. Love them! It’s okay to be a little bad; no it isn’t, but I will anyway.

  11. Aviatrix says:

*swoon* Just talk to me Seth. This man has it all going on.

  12. Eileen Yover says:

He’s hot and you know life with him would be hilarious!

  13. diddy says:

  14. MonicaBee says:

I would do that man six was to Sunday. He is HAWT.

And he was funny as all get out on The Howard Stern Show a few months ago.

  15. manda says:

What’s a jewish accent? Judaism is a religion, and so people that are jewish have all sorts of accents. It’s not as if Lois speaks hebrew or yiddish, or has an israeli accent. It’s sort of long island-y, isn’t it?

  16. ashleylk says:

He’s hot and funny. What more could you possibly ask for? Yummyyyy.

  17. nj says:

I find absolutely nothing funny about that show and I cannot understand why it has become so popular. It is the most vulgar piece of trash. Everyone I know loves it and I just find it distasteful. As for Mcfarland himself, he is not much to look at and is rather creepy around the eyes. Without his money, no woman would look at him twice. No attacks, please. I am not some ravishing physical speciman either. He might be a great person or whatever. I just find it confusing when someone like this makes millions for a show I would rather stab myself than watch.

  18. Kerri says:

This is one of my favorite shows on tv. The laughs are never ending. I just love stewie and i knew he was gay, glad to have it confirmed though.

Definately can’t wait for the next season

  19. Eileen Yover says:

Everyone has their tastes in shows….people think I’m crazy because I think Dancing with the Has-beens is the biggest piece of trash to hit tv.

  20. Ash says:

Stewie is hilarious. Hats off to Seth for creating such a friggin’ funny show.

  21. photo jojo says:

I hate this show, everything about it is completely repulsive to me.

But Seth is ridiculously, unbelievably, undeniably SMOKING hot!! *fans self*

  22. iced opal says:

I love the fact that its way inappropriate! That’s what makes it fun! And proves the point that you can say pretty much anything if you’re a cartoon.

  23. iced opal says:

    OH! and he’s hot. 🙂

  24. Jenna says:

I’d rather watch Family Guy on repeat than watch what some people consider the ‘family’ shows. America’s Funniest Home Video’s host whatever his name sets up videos with some sort of sexual reference. Creepy and distasteful when it has a kids rating. However Family Guy has that rating that shows certain ages shouldn’t watch it. Eh.

Seth McFarlane can whisper sweet nothings into my ear all he wants.

  25. barneslr says:

I like Seth and think he’s talented, but I HATE family guy. It’s without question one of the worst, least funny shows on television-and that’s saying quite a lot. His talents would surely be better put to use on some other show.

  26. sarah says:

    Family guy is hilarious

  27. Mairead says:

American Dad is where it’s at…

  28. Kelly says:

Yeah, but he’s probably got the Irish curse, too.

And what’s with the stubble? Prevention against getting carded, no doubt.

  29. Mairead says:

    Irish curse?

You mean “strong” eyebrows?… yup. He’s afflicted with them allright.

  30. Giz says:

Are you kidding?! Cartoons haven’t been this much fun since “Pinkie and The Brain” and “The Animaniacs”! Sometimes I find myself disliking certain episodes. This could be because might have struck a nerve and that’s okay!

“The Family Guy” is far funnier and thought provoking compared to the new wave of white male backlash dim-witted sitcoms that are so popular now.

Did I forget to mention, MacFarland is HOT. It is his sense of humor and intelligence that adds to the total package.

  31. MeowBea says:

    Family Guy ROCKS!!!! 😀

  32. elusive says:

    shocking revealtion 😐

  33. Jane says:

Love all the work Seth does for promoting gay rights and bringing light to these issues. 🙂

  34. Brad says:

He is hilarious not gay 😛

  35. jennifer says:

Mairead, agreed, LOVE American Dad. I’ve been a Family Guy fan since the very very beginning, was devastated when it was cancelled, was thrilled beyond belief when it came back, and will always always always love it. But over the last year or so I’ve come to realize that American Dad is a much better show, and I watch my American Dad DVDs almost daily lol.

P.S. people used to think I was NUTS when I’d say Seth MacFarlane was smokin’ hot (it’s those eyes! and of course the voice. BUT THOSE EYES…*swoon*) – I’m glad to see people have come around ;D

  36. MomInNH says:

    “Irish curse?

You mean “strong” eyebrows?… yup. He’s afflicted with them allright. ”

I think she meant, hung like a lightswitch. Which totally isn’t the case given the Irish men I know. I totally asked. lmao

I love Family guy, I don’t let my kids watch it, but I love that it’s a cartoon for adults, rated properly and does push the envelope.

Seth is gorgeous, I’m with most of you ladies on that!

  37. Pandora says:

WOW Praise St. that’s exactly who he looks like – Peter Brady!

  38. ohyeah says:

    Kaiser, Kaiser, Kaiser!
How could you possibly think you were alone?
What’s not to like about this guy?
    Great smile. Wickedly funny.
    Successful, driven, gifted.
Atheist. Democrat. Supporter of gay rights.
    Be still my heart.
    And Family Guy is genius.

  39. Micky Muldoon says:

Begorrah, for sure and you must know that the “Irish curse” is alcaholism…

  40. Bob Smith says:

My wife glanced at the TV while this show was on and asked me why they would make such a terrible show that looked like it was for children. It depicts the Irish in the most hideous manner imaginable but portrays Jews lovingly. This is program written by a hate-infested Scottish twerp and produced with Jewish approval. Next time Seth, get on that plane.
When you and your enablers are looking into the ditch you dug, waiting for you know what in the back of the head, no need to ask “why us?”.

  41. Vadi says:

Omg I must say that I didn’t think this article will be like that
it started and made me sick a litle

  42. Robert M. says:

I’ve had a crush on Seth MacFarlane before ever even seeing him. It was his voice that would, and still does, get my heart to racing. Once I actually saw the man, I was lost for good. I guess “Seth MacFarlane” would be my answer to the question “What kind of guy turns you on?”

  43. I love Family Guy and Seth’s sence of humor. You go Seth. Lighten up people it’s just for fun and if you don’t like it DON’T WATCH! Seth, keep doing what you are doing, you make me smile and laugh, the best medicine. I love the way you make fun of everyone from the homeless to God. You go Seth.
    Fan forever

  44. the yapper says:

does seth wear a toupee and dye his hair? It sure looks like it. He’s cute funny…family make me lol.

I like the valuable info you supply on your articles. I?ll bookmark your weblog and take a look at again here frequently. I’m rather sure I?ll learn plenty of new stuff proper here! Best of luck for the next!

  46. cpb says:

I find him creepy and arrogant. His shows are also mind numbingly awful. Lots of little girls who can’t see through the bs like him, but the guy strikes me as gay anyway. so it’s not a total loss.

  47. Heya i am for the primary time here. I found this board and I find It truly helpful & it helped me out much. I’m hoping to give something again and aid others like you aided me.
