People trying to play “gotcha” with Democrats vs. Republicans regarding Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein are playing a losing game. Eric Trump tried to post of a photo of Maxwell attending Chelsea Clinton’s wedding, only to delete the tweet when his timeline filled with hundreds of photos of Epstein and Maxwell cozying up to Donald Trump, Melania Trump, Ivana Trump and more. So it is with high-profile business types, like Bill Gates and Elon Musk. We simply don’t know which people knew about Epstein’s rape and human trafficking operation, especially back in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Regarding Elon Musk, apparently there was some kind of conspiracy that Ghislaine Maxwell “introduced” Elon to his second wife, Talulah Riley. Talulah was already an established actress in her early 20s when she met Elon, so I have no idea what any of this is about. Talulah doesn’t know either:
Elon Musk‘s ex-wife Talulah Riley is denying “truly awful” rumors that she had been hand-picked to be the Tesla CEO’s child bride by accused madam Ghislaine Maxwell.
“To my knowledge, I have never met Ghislaine Maxwell,” Riley, 34, said in a statement after her ex went viral for a photo of him and a grinning Maxwell, the recently arrested ex of late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. “The other thing I have seen implied is that Maxwell procured me as some kind of child-bride for Elon,” Riley wrote in her extraordinary statement, posted with Musk’s approval. “Again, I don’t know Maxwell. Elon and I met when I was twenty-two and he was on a business trip to London. It was a chance meeting, engineered by no one,” she said.
Riley admitted that she and her now-ex had once been a guest at Epstein’s Manhattan mansion — but insisted that the ties went no deeper.
“I’m distressed by something truly awful being thrown around this court-of Twitter. I hope that every victim of Epstein’s finds justice and peace, and that any person involved in harming underage girls is punished to the full extent of the law,” she wrote.
Riley confirmed that she had been at the same 2014 Vanity Fair party where Maxwell was photographed next to Musk. “It is possible I was briefly introduced to her, but not in any way that I can remember. Elon and I met thousands of people over the course of our relationship. There will be countless photos of Elon with people he doesn’t know/happened to stood next to at a party,” she wrote. She also dismissed her and Musk’s visit to Epstein at his New York home as a fleeting, unmemorable moment in “an itinerary of appointments.”
“I can’t even date this to a year – we used to travel constantly for work,” she said. Riley said that she was only speaking out “given the truly horrific nature of what is being implied up and down my timeline today. I wanted to respond publicly with @elonmusk’s permission. However, I speak only for myself,” she wrote.
The fact that Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein attended celebrity events, fundraisers, parties and premieres for years means that there are going to be uncomfortable photos of our “faves” with those two human trafficking rapists/abusers. That’s one thing and it’s problematic and we should definitely have a conversation about how Maxwell & Epstein even got invited to those events, especially following his 2007/08 plea deal. But… why the f–k did Talulah and Elon go to Epstein’s townhouse? And the fact that she can’t name a year… huh. Talulah and Elon started dating in 2008 and married in 2010. Which means that when they visited Epstein’s New York townhouse, Epstein was already known as a sexual predator, pedophile and human trafficker.

I think the one thing that seems like it should be obvious is that a lot of people in these circles don’t know anyone beyond a surface level. Expecting everyone to have encyclopedic knowledge of what’s what about everyone else is impossible. Even if it’s in the mainstream news. People hear rumors and they dismiss it if they don’t experience it first hand. Especially if their first hand experiences were fine and with no issues. Maybe they will dig more in the future. But chance encounters, photo ops, and networking will still happen without a deep dive into each other’s backgrounds.
But because of this there’s going to be all sorts of people twisted up in Epstein and Maxwell’s web. And they do that on purpose for surface level respectability. That’s on Epstein and Maxwell and anyone who was committing crimes with them.
I agree. Just because someone was at the same party in Hollywood, where there is not shortage of parties, does not mean they did a deep dive, let alone a skin-deep dive, into another random party guest. Predators can be adept at concealing their actions from even close loved ones.
Exactly. I think people forget that Epstein being a notorious, household name paedophile and trafficker is a pretty new development. He wasn’t always a well known name and face. Yes he was convicted in 2008, but he (purposefully) didn’t have much profile then, and after a couple of weeks talk about it was fairly well confined to gossip sites and conspiracy theory groups. His friends and people who got on his plane and went to his island and took his money and got him on exclusive guest lists have no excuses, because they had a reason to look into him, but you can’t expect everyone who ever attended the same events as him to know who he was and what he did at a glance. Maxwell even more so, since her role was only recently made public.
I go to a ton of dinners, conferences etc. and meet so many people. I’ve had times when I’ve met someone, thought I knew the name, shaken hands and taken a photo and then realised 10 minutes later I know the name because they were once fired for sexual harrassment or have a reputation for being a creep etc. It happens.
I loathe agreeing with Elon Musk, but why did Vanity Fair invite Maxwell? Why did anyone invite them anywhere after 2008?

I don’t get why Elon Musk had to note he was at the party with his ex-wife. Also this is random but I know someone who knows a couple. They are good friends with TR and she seems a caring and kind person. As in, she cared for the Musk kids and maintained friendships with the wives of Elon Musk’s investors and probably managed a lot of his mood swings. Elon sounds abusive af.
Do I think she was excited to become an actress, be rich, write a book, travel and go to famous parties? Of course.
I don’t think she should be held responsible for his behavior – she divorced him and has been doing her own thing. He’s his own mess of choices.
I think because she’s an actress and it was a VF party. He was pointing out he was there for a legit reason (guest of a celeb) and Maxwell had no reason to be there.
He noted he was there with Talulah because through a game of Twitter telephone, him being in a photo with Maxwell at that event was being turned into ‘He took her as his date’. So he was pointing out he was there with his then wife.

You should take a look at the interview Elon musk’s former first wife ( And mother of the majority of his childrens) Justine gave to Marie Claire a little time ago. Try Google “Justine musk: I was a starter wife”. This is a very interesting read and I believe she has been very honest while describing her side of her marriage to Musk.
Correct me if I’m wrong but this would mean that Graydon Carter invited Maxwell and Epstein (not sure if he was there?) to the infamous VF party with a meticulously curated invite list – AFTER his magazine wrote the article where he instructed the reporter to NOT include the info from the Farmer sisters?!
Which included the info that Maxwell and Epstein teamed up to abuse a 14 year old girl?!

That makes it so much worse. The Filthy Rich documentary covered how VF killed the story. Then VF – with full knowledge – invite Maxwell and Epstein anyways. Someone needs to investigate Graydon Carter. Epstein & Maxwell aren’t celebrities and had no business being at that party.
Musk talked about going to Epstein’s house a while ago (this wasn’t something that was uncovered, he told a journalist himself). Talulah is a novelist, and asked Musk to take up the offer to meet Epstein because she was planning to write about someone like him. Epstein invited Musk to his island, Musk declined, they left.
I believe Talulah doesn’t know the year. Like she says, they would have met with so many people, and Musk’s staff would have handled their schedules so it’s not like she can just check her old planners.

Same reason for his friendships with such luminaries as Peter Thiel and Joe Francis, I’m guessing. The people in those circles appear to care about money, power, and deniability above all — and in that order.
That picture looks like Maxwell just sneaked up behind Elon. She’s not even touching him. Hands are behind her back. If you know a picture was being taken, usually there is some touching or acknowledging of the other person.
I’m no Elon fan but that looks like a photo bomb. Maxwell an Epstein probably insinuated themselves into parties and pictures for blackmail purposes.
Much more interesting: Musk’s brother and business partner Kimbal Musk actually did have a girlfriend procured for him out of Epstein’ circle that he dated 2010-2011. Riley and Musk met Epstein a second time at one of his dinner’s they attended – there is photo evidence.
But yes, regarding the photo I think it is quite obvious just by body language that she indeed inserted herself into the picture – on purpose.
So far nothing suggests his brothers ex-gf (who was an adult) was knowingly procured for him, in fact the original source on that said they believed he was unaware of the connection. It would be normal for someone like Epstein to try and find a way in to someone like Musk’s circle like that. If anything it shows Epstein had no luck getting to Musk directly.
Also that dinner they went to wasn’t Epstein’s, he was just one attendee of many. It was a large dinner event, the Billionaire’s Dinner, held by John Brockman (who really should be getting the grilling Musk is). Musk and Riley weren’t seated on the same table as Epstein and nothing suggests they had any kind of interaction with him. I’m not sure why it’s being framed like they had a one on one dinner at Epstein’s.

That level of money and influence has very a very questionable moral compass when it comes to palm pressing and cocktail sharing. I don’t hold everyone accountable for crimes by mere association, but I think anyone’s disingenuous reaction of “who dat, don’t know ’em” needs to be called out. For everyone. Across the board.
Perhaps this is the sea change we will get with increased policing on social media and a culture of “cancelling”. You need to start checking who and what you associate with much more closely, especially if you rely on consumer good will and popularity to prop your business and brand.
If the power of information-sharing is here to stay those that like to hide in plain sight should be getting more and more nervous…
