There are multiple reports swirling that Megan Fox has signed on to play Catwoman in the third installment of the Christopher Nolan-helmed Batman series. Many of the reports are deferring to a report in Britain’s Sun newspaper, but some reports claim independent confirmation. This is one of those casting decisions I hope will end up to be totally false. I want to think Nolan is too smart to cast Megan Fox. I want to think Christian Bale is capable of screaming and yelling and throwing a tantrum until Megan Fox is off the set for good. Here’s one of the reports:
Megan Fox has apparently signed up to play Catwoman in the next Batman film.
The Transformers sex symbol will thrill fans by donning a tight PVC catsuit to play Selina Kyle in director Christopher Nolan’s next instalment about the comic book hero, The Sun reports.
Megan, 23, follows in the footsteps of Michelle Pfeiffer, who played Catwoman in Batman Returns, and Halle Berry, who played the vixen in flop spin-off movie Catwoman.
Christian Bale will return as millionaire Bruce Wayne/the Caped Crusader and Sir Michael Caine will be back as his faithful butler Alfred.
Filming is due to begin next year with the movie expected to hit screens in 2011.

From what I’ve read lately, there doesn’t seem to be much in the way of new casting going on for the third installment, which makes me think this is bullsh-t. The only people that have signed on thus far are the actors who are returning – Caine, Bale, Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman. I doubt Nolan even has a working script at this point, so who even knows if Catwoman will be in this film? Gah! I just don’t want it to be true. It probably isn’t.
UPDATE: Yeah, this was bullsh-t, thank God. A studio executive is denying this report to People Magazine, saying, “It’s rumor. It’s not true…There is no script. There is no project to be cast in.” Why did it take them a whole day to deny this stuff? It’s been going around all damn day. I think one of the producers was considering Megan, and put the report out there to see how the audience would react. So, thanks everyone for freaking out! We should all be hired as casting agents.

How many times do the have to re-do this film???? Are there no new ideas in Hollywood AT ALL???? And AS IF she will bring anything new to the role. OH PLEASE will they STOP! ARRG! I am sooo disillusioned with EVERYTHING TODAY!
Although… those Louboutin heels on the header page are VERY CUTE, expecially the pink ones!!! I wish I wore heels, sigh!

There’s no doubting she’s sexy as hell and the fan boys will love her but I think there’s a few other choices that they should look at…if this is actually true and not just a continuation of the rumor mill.
Odette Yustman from “Cloverfield” & “The Unborn” would be fantastic (she’s practically a twin of Megan’s but can act!) or Marion Cotillard…from “Public Enemies” would be great!
I’m hoping there will be (at least) 2 villains so Johnny Depp as the “Riddler” or Phillip Seymore Hoffman as the “Penguin” can handle the brunt of the acting.

This cannot be true. She’s too vapid to be in this franchise. She’s shown zero range with what she’s done so far.Straddling motorcycles does not an actress make.
While I know he’d do a wonderful job as the Riddler, I’m not too over the moon about Johnny Depp playing him (allegedly). Depp’s always the go-to guy when you need an actor for quirky roles. While his characters are always memorable, they’re getting a little redundant. I’ve heard people suggest that Jim Parsons (Sheldon on The Big Bang Theory) would be a great choice for the role. I agree wholeheartedly. I love Depp, but I think it’s time to let some new talent shine in unusual roles.

I really hope this is false. She has the look for Catwoman (although she’s really petite and has a body that looks like you can break in half) but she’s a horrible actress!! She will ruin the new Batman franchise. I agree with ToddRH about Marion Cotillard, she can be a vixen and actually act

This franchise has kicked it up a notch with recent critical acclaim (and are taking themselves very seriously), so I doubt they would just throw it all away for her sake. Unless they plan on rebuilding her like The $6 million Woman in personality, talent, depth, etc.
Depp as Riddler, unless they do some retooling of the character, I have to agree that it would be awfully “one-note” of him (Sweeny Todd, Charlie, Mad Hatter, Capt Jack).

Oh, God, Dread Pirate Cuervo! Not the horrible, awful Marion Cotillard! I saw her in Public Enemies and she gave one of the absolute worst peformances I have ever seen…I left the theater shaking my head, wondering how someone so untalented snagged a role like that opposite JD.
All that being said, ANYONE would be better than Megan Fox. Even the horrible Cotillard.

God, what a tacky makeup job. The lipstick looks sloppy and her eyeliner is all crooked.
