Nicole Kidman adopted her third rescue kitty, Louis, now she’s officially a Cat Lady

CCERt-bpaMO

A few years ago, I learned that Nicole Kidman is a cat person. She wasn’t keeping it a secret or anything – she posts photos and videos of her two fluffy kitties, Snow and Ginger, quite regularly. But since I rarely checked her Instagram, I only found out about her Cat Person credentials when I read a 2018 interview, where she talked a lot about how much she loves her kitties and how she bought them kitty-carrier backpacks so they can go hiking with her.

Well, it looks like Nicole is officially up to THREE cats. To me, having one cat says that you like cats. Having two cats says you want them to have each other’s company, and two cats are pretty manageable. But three cats is… a lot. Three cats = cat lady. People always say that cats are easier to manage than dogs and while that’s true, you’d be SHOCKED at how much time and energy two cats or three cats can take up.

Anyway, Nicole’s new fur baby is named Louis and he’s a rescue. I love him already. Oh, and Nicole and Keith also adopted a puppy last year! One dog and three cats in Nashville.

Nicole’s “cat voice” is amazing. I also have a different voice when speaking to or for my cats.

It takes way more than 3 cats to be a Cat Lady right? asks a woman with 3 cats LOL

    • Chicken says:

I also have three cats. Does that also make my boyfriend a cat lady? They’re his cats, too.

      • the CAT LADY says:

I was thinking about getting a third cat. Maybe not now…trying to get out there and cyber date. Being known as a Cat Lady might not be a good thing. LOL

      • SomeChick says:

I don’t believe “Cat Lady” is a gendered term. Altho I have also heard people say “Cat Daddy” so I guess it’s up to your boyfriend. =^. .^=

    • Sadezilla says:

I never meant to have three but here I am with three. I often joke that I have #toomanycats but I’ll always want more than one so they’re not alone all day (I live by myself and am usually away at work all day). And touche, Chicken, I’d say your bf is definitely a Cat Gentleman!

    • Stephanie says:

I personally think if you have 4 cats and live alone, you’re a Cat Lady. Nicole and Keith have 2 kids right? So that’s four people in the house – not even one cat per person! Totally not Cat Lady situation.

  2. Aang says:

This makes me like her a bit more. I guess I’m a cat lady because I also have three. And yes, they are work. Especially when they get ill. I have a senior with chronic GI issues. She needs steroid shots once a month and she’s a super picky eater so keeping her weight up is a job. Another gets colds semi regularly. And the third currently has a yeast infection and I have to clean her bits and pieces with medicated wash every day. Add in the dog and two mice and I’m always tending a pet.

  3. Léna says:

Omg. I’ve looking at cats in shelters near my new home for the past 6 months. I’m so tempted. And seeing this is adding to the desire to adopt a cat damn !!

  4. Case says:

Cats are the best! Her furbabies are so beautiful. After growing up in a house that just had one cat at a time, I adopted the sweetest brother and sister duo and I’m so glad I did. I really think cats are meant to be live in pairs (or more). They really keep each other entertained. I’m here for the snuggles and the food, but they love playing with each other, and it makes me so happy to know they’re never lonely when I’m not home.

I don’t think three is too many, but after having two that get along so well I’d honestly just be afraid to disrupt the harmony.

    • lucy2 says:

I did that as well, adopted a brother and sister. Some cats like to be solitary, but I think most do enjoy having the company. Especially for anyone adopting a kitten – get 2. They need each other to wear off some of that kitten energy!

Nicole’s cats are beautiful, and I love how she is embracing being a cat lady. Louis seems so very happy in that video!

  5. Starkille says:

What the haell has she done to her face?

    • Caitlin says:

Where have you been for the last 15 years 😂😂 lainey gossip used to call her Granny Freeze. Anyone else remember that?

    • paige says:

well she certainly looks like you would imagine a a crazy cat lady looks….

    • Darla says:

I view Nicole as a timeless beauty, so she has some fillers. Everyone who appears on camera does. As for Granny freeze, that must be one of the blogs Lainey has her “i vow to do better” disclaimer on. That is stunningly misogynistic.

  6. HaHa says:

Personally I think the crazy cat lady line is when you have four or more.

  7. James says:

Cats are the best. I love these videos lol

  8. ce says:

We had one teenage kitty solo for years and just got her a little sister two years ago. The older one pretends to hate her sister (she hates sharing attention) but they play every day and I’ll often catch them sleeping next to each other. I don’t think I could do three – their personalities are so big

  9. SpankyB says:

Cat lady at 3? Then that makes me Crazy Cat Lady with 9. LOL

I’m fostering a bunch of kittens right now, 3 are 5 months, 4 are 1 month. My house is total chaos right now.

  10. ChloeCat says:

I have just one cat but consider myself a crazy cat lady. Cats are the absolute best, I don’t know what I’d do without my baby.

  11. Ae says:

“Gingy, is sleeping, she’s so tired” is just so cute.

  12. Bella A A says:

I love Nicole and her kitties are cute, and so is that puppy!

  13. lunchcoma says:

Awww! I think it takes more than 3 to be a cat lady! I hope it takes more than 3 to be a cat lady…

Anyway, she’s very sweet with her pets, and it’s nice to see her with an adult rescue cat. So many sweet, loving cats get passed by because they’re not kittens anymore.

  14. olliesmom says:

Yay Nicole Kidman cat lady! I have only one cat and I consider myself a cat lady. Her newest cat matches her hair. Cute little dog too.

  15. Mary says:

She takes her cats hiking with her? Cats are lethal predators and have much more impact on wildlife than native predators. They have decimated bird populations. I grew up with cats but have come to understand how destructive they are.

    • Lady Wraith says:

      Seriously, shut up.

    • Elizabeth says:

She takes them in backpacks so they won’t be preying on native wildlife.

I agree — outdoor cats can have a negative impact! There’s no point in saying “shut up” — the environment is everyone’s future, please take it seriously. I’m not going to stop caring.

    • Lindsay says:

In a cat carrier backpack… What are they going to do? Watch through the little window and…

  16. Abby says:

    Her hairline looks so bizarre

  17. Abby says:

I will say though that I like it when celebrities adopt rescues. Taylor Swift’s designer cats are super cute but I think only Benjamin may qualify as a rescue.

  18. Ali says:

Dammit I have 7 and live alone. I was expecting the comments to be filled with people with lots of cats but y’all really let me down haha
