People are really doing the most to defend the Worst Chris, Chris Pratt

Chris Pratt spends time with his Brazilian fans while promoting 'Avengers: Infinity War'

Over the weekend, someone on Twitter posted one of those fun “who is the best Chris” games, only this time, it was “One has to go,” with photos of Chris Hemsworth, Chris Pine, Chris Evans and Chris Pratt. As you can see, even I had some thoughts:

I stand by my opinion! While Chris Pratt is empirically the Worst Chris and everyone knows he’s the one who “has to go,” I could honestly take or leave Hemsworth and Evans too. For me, Pine is the only one who should stay. Anyway, it became a jumping-off point for everyone to talk about how Chris Pratt kind of sucks. Most people believe he’s got MAGA (or MAGA-adjacent) politics, and he’s super-churchy and he very much Mr. Red State.

So, I thought it was just a silly internet thing and everyone would forget about it by Monday. But no. It’s become this huge, dumb thing. E! News’ Instagram posted the four-Chris choice, which ended up getting a response from Pratt’s wife Katherine Schwarzenegger, who wrote: “Is this really what we need? There’s so much going on in the world and people are struggling in so many ways. Being mean is so yesterday. There’s enough room to love all these guys. Love is what we all need not meanness and bullying. Let’s try that.”

After that, Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo and Zoe Saldana also chimed in, defending Pratt from… an online community who merely said that Pratt should be thrown out of the Chris Club. I also think this is connected to yesterday’s “Avengers Assemble” Biden-Harris virtual fundraiser – many of the big name Avengers came by, they were Robert Downey Jr (whew, he’s supporting the Dems this year), Chris Evans, Zoe Saldana, ScarJo, Mark Ruffalo, Don Cheadle and Paul Rudd. Notably NO Jeremy Renner and NO Chris Pratt. (Anthony Mackie was supposed to come but didn’t make it.) Should we assume that Renner and Pratt are voting Republican? Who knows. But Pratt’s absence from the virtual fundraiser definitely underlined the issues people have with him, and why people were eager to toss him out of the Chris Club.

Isn’t it great when a white guy gets to be “not overtly political”? Is it because he’s not being actively marginalized and demeaned? Also: Pratt has left enough breadcrumbs for MAGA douches to let them know what he is.

Don’t forget all the rumors about cheating on Anna Faris! Another reason he’s the worst Chris.

    • Astrid says:

and there was some terrible stories about how he and Anna treated there pets

      • H says:

He gave his elderly cat to some stranger on Twitter. He’s horrible.

      • PlainJane says:

@H – came here to say exactly that. Putting it in caps, yes I am shouting about it.

HE GAVE AWAY HIS ELDERLY CAT BECAUSE HE DIDN’T WANT IT ANYMORE.

And yes, I saw all the excuses, better w/someone who could care for it, better w/someone who could love it, blah fecking blah. I don’t care. You don’t give away your animals when they get old. You just don’t do it. (tries to get off soapbox, finds heel stuck in it, continues to rant at anyone who will listen…)

  2. souperkay says:

the fact that i know the chris game has been played before and pratt always loses makes me wonder if he is the one who whined about internet people being mean to all his celebrity coworkers. He is an actor so we know he has a massive ego and also insecurity. He could’ve just let this go but no.

It’s not just his choice of church, it’s who he follows on insta, it’s his history with animals abandoning pets, adding up to the worst chris.

    • theothercleo says:

I did not know about his instagram following until today and …Tucker Carlson and Ben Shapiro? And we’re supposed to believe this man is not voting for Trump and is not interested in politics?

      • detritus says:

He follows Ben Shapiro? That’s all you need to know tbh.

      • Züri says:

I didn’t until you mentioned it, either. I’ve seen other comments on this site where “we” all suspect he’s a super icky conservative type (the technical term). I don’t think I would have suspected as loathsome as Fucker Carlson or Ben Shapiro, but has @detritus said, “that’s all you need to know.” Also didn’t know about the cat story. Yech all around.

      • Jellybean says:

There is nothing in Renner’s likes and follows to suggest he is a Trump supporter. He seems to keep his politics private. He looked very pleased to meet Obama at the White House and he recently said Keisha Lance Bottoms was a great leader, but that is pretty much it.

      • Jaxonmeh says:

@jellybean I’m pretty sure Renner’s goal is to keep out of the news for any reason since his ongoing custody issues with his ex get him dragged repeatedly.

I also get a sense he’s non politically publicly by design now, but he said he wanted to meet Biden when asked years ago about what politician he’d want to meet. And I’ve seen the Obama photo. He also made an IG video recently that could have been a response to how batshit the first Presidential debate was but left it at a no comment.

He also emoji’d a positive response to RDJs comment about Pratt and people started dragging him to hell. Bringing up the ex wife etc. It was a pretty gross thread to read with people putting their shit on him. But I think he’s used to it at this point but actively tries not to court it.

      • holly hobby says:

If he watches Faux News then he is the worst Chris. I’m surprised Arnold hasn’t gotten him in a headlock yet.

      • sesame says:

I’ll give the benefit of the doubt to Renner but as to Pratt following Ben Shapiro and Tucker Carlson…. indeed that’s all we need to know to empirically designate him as the Worst Chris. (and also, wow, I did not know he was following Ben Shapiro UGH)

      • Christina says:

Okay, but the only political party I follow on twitter is one that I would never vote for. I disagree with a lot of what they do, but I still want to know what they are saying. Following someone on twitter does not necessarily mean that you agree with them.

    • Sparky says:

@Holly Arnold may have married into the Kennedy family but he is a Republican or at least he was officially when he served as Governor of California.

I voted for Pratt to leave the island as he seems like a total douche canoe not based on his politics

    • rhiannon says:

This game has been played for years and he is always the worst Chris. I have yet to play the Chris game where he ever came out on top. He is usually places close to the bottom with a “oh hell no” thrown in.

    • Salted Watermelon says:

I wasn’t aware that we had to justify our reasons for the Chris Rankings. Okay, Mark and RDJ, here you go:

Chris Evans IS Captain America. He’s used his considerable platform to call out Trump’s corruption. Still fighting Nazis, that one.

Chris Hemsworth has done a lot of work to raise awareness for the impacts of climate changes on Australia. He’s also a feminist and does a lot of a work with children’s charities.

Chris Pine is fine. Seriously, I don’t know much about Chris Pine other than that he is beautiful and I liked him in Wonder Woman.

Chris Pratt: okay, here we go. Chris Pratt is a dude bro who ditched his wife as soon as he made it big. He abandoned his elderly cat when it was too hard to take care of. He belongs to a church with terrible views on LGBTQ+ people. And he complained that there weren’t enough movies about blue collar white men. He’s a trash person and has earned his spot at the bottom of the list.

  3. nicegirl says:

    Cat story

    • OriginalLala says:

exactly. He has always been a trash person and showed us exactly who he is, but he is a rich, white, male celebrity so…

  4. Mabs A'Mabbin says:

Maybe I’m getting this wrong. But we can’t not like someone now?

What a delicate little flower he is.

    Chris. Pine. PINE.

  5. Darla says:

I was so shocked how this blew up, I didn’t even know it was going on. That RDJ post is so nasty, but that tone shows why I’m not a fan. Kennedy going on Instagram to whine is hilarious. I won’t even get started on Bernie Bro Ruffio and i can’t be bothered to look up the spelling of his name. I CAN’T stand him.

Where was this energy when Brie was being bullied relentlessly with vicious misogyny?? The fanboys hate her and still say the most horrible things about her, who defended her? I’m really asking. Who? What about when Chadwick was bullied off SM that day he posted that video just trying to help people through the pandemic, and even now my eyes welled up again writing that. That broke my heart. Who defended him? I’m so up to here with this white bro isht. They did themselves no favors.

One thing that’s interesting; the two Chris’s in the Marvel U didn’t say anything. LOL. Evans is too smart to I think, and looks like Thor is too, or, he just doesn’t give a isht.

    • Solace says:

      @Darla,

You’re so right. This is the same RDJ who thought Mel Gibson deserved a second chance.

I heard his interview on the Smartless podcast and he comes across as smug and closed up.
He best not forget it was Jon Favreau’s vision which revived his career as ironman. RDJ ain’t that special an actor that his opinion matters. Though he definitely thinks he is.

    • Merrie says:

Wow — RDJ’s post was especially nasty. It was a game. It happens often. Chris Pratt always loses because he’s not the best Chris. If his life is as awesome as everyone is scrambling to claim, he’d laugh it off and move on. As for RDJ, I kind of like him less now. That’s a bummer.

    • Sid says:

Darla, I’m glad you brought up Brie and Chadwick. They and several others members of the Marvel crew were harassed and bullied mercilessly online in one instance or another and I sure don’t recall Downey and Co. throwing on capes to fly to the rescue like they’re doing for Pratt.

    • Case says:

You make a great point, Darla. There have been other cast members who were genuinely viciously attacked — not just voted last in a silly poll, lol — and no one stood up for them.

    • lola says:

Completely agree! Where were they when Brie Larson got attacked? Or Mackie or Boseman?!
And Hemsworth and Evans not “defending” Pratt just shows us again that they are the better Chrises.

    • tcbc says:

Not surprisingly, Don Cheadle and Chadwick Boseman defended her. That’s it. Cheadle has so far been silent on Pratt. Which is telling, IMO.

    • Kalana says:

      White bro shit is right.

Chris Pratt is a giant baby. Really, he can’t take being picked last in a silly internet game?

    • FF says:

*sigh* Of course, Zoe would use a Tupac quote for defending this non-starter.

I didn’t get any of this until I realised they’re probably protecting their Guardians property from Pratt’s subtextual tomfoolery. That brand doesn’t need any more controversy after the James Gunn bs. Maybe Pratt did something and circling the wagons was just a distraction measure.

I’m surprised Dave Bautista didn’t decide to chime in.

Btw, I don’t get why everyone loves Chris Pine either, he just seems like another product of Hollywood nepotism.

    • rhiannon says:

Plus 1 million regarding Brie and Chadwick. They were nowhere to be found.

  6. nicegirl says:

    Still the worst

  7. minx says:

I’m ignoring Pratt and looking at how cute Paul Rudd is in that little pic.

  8. Judith says:

Over at Pajiba, they had a very short but very good take on this, I’ll quote:

“Brie Larson has and is still experiencing a world of shit from online hordes, yet I can’t remember hearing a peep in her defense from her Marvel co-stars. Chris Pratt, on the other hand, has experienced maybe 24 hours of side-eye for possibly being a Republican, and Robert Downey Jr. and Mark Ruffalo immediately rushed to his defense. That’s some bullshit right there, and RDJ’s smarmy reaction is the kind of thing that makes me hope the rest of his career is nothing but Dolittle after Dolittle.”

The hypocrisy and double standards of Hollywood are as always astounding.

    • Darla says:

Oh that is excellent, I will have to start reading that site. YES to every word.

    • Chelsea says:

This was my first thought as well. WTF were all these people while Brie has been relentlessly absued online by misogynistic fanboys the last couple of years? I don’t remember them defending her this vehemently when she was getting death threats and cursed ever day but they out here caping for Chris because he didnf win the Chris Twitter poll?

The only person i remember going this hard for her was Tessa who then also got attacked and the also got no one riding to the rescue for her like this. A mess.

    • Holly says:

YAAAAAAS! I read that article as well. WHY are so many people publicly standing up for him over a silly meme when other marginalized people have gotten actual hate? Ridiculous! Also, everyone knows he’s the worst Chris. Pine forever!

    • lucy2 says:

      YES.
As Pratt’s own wife said, there’s so much going on and people are really struggling – can we maybe not spend time worrying and coddling a rich white male movie star who got a little valid criticism via a silly internet poll?

Also, spare me the “he’s not political” stuff, because he’s political enough that we all know his leanings, and just a few weeks ago made a post mocking election voting and celebrities encouraging voting, in order to promote some movie of his for the People’s Choice Awards. There are people literally standing in line ALL DAY, fighting for their right to vote, and voting to save their lives and protect their basic human rights.
Let’s not act like he’s been quietly minding his own business and suddenly got dumped on. He’s done a bunch of stuff worthy of criticism, and some people mentioned it.

      • Digital Unicorn says:

The fact that his wife went on SM to whine means that this has really bothered her husband. I think out of all the Chris’s he took it seriously.

      • sunhitsthesky says:

He is political enough to openly follow many Alt-Right accounts – PragerU, Turning Point USA, Ben Shapiro. Some extreme views for someone who isn’t political.

    • Rebecca says:

      Don Cheadle defended Brie.

    • wildwaffles says:

I made the mistake of reading the comments on RDJ’s post and wow, those same misogynistic nut jobs are on there posting about how awful Brie is, etc. The bullying and hate is right there in RDJ’s comment section plain as day. Bet he doesn’t make a single statement about that.

  9. heygingersnaps says:

His ego must be so fragile that he had his ‘friends’ come in to defend him from a silly twitter poll. Love some of the replies to Zoe Saldana’s tweet:
“Girl no. People voted him least fave Hollywood Chris. Stop acting like this is the worst thing to have ever happened to him.”
“You guys act like Chris Pratt was beaten, shot unjustly, been told he can’t marry the person he loved, had his child taken from him or something…”
“Tupac was murdered. Pratt lost a twitter post contest to three other Chrises.”

I side eye RDJ’s “real Christian” Jesus would never support the orange turd’s policies.

    • Mabs A'Mabbin says:

Oh good. Others said what I’m thinking. Men have been playing rate-the-chick game for a millennia, and Pratt gets his underoos twisted in a silly Chris preference post? My gawd, makes me like him even less if that’s possible.

      • wellokay says:

A fine point, Mabs. These men are just ridiculous. Even the good ones can’t help but bend over backwards for their crappier brethren.

  10. LaraK says:

I don’t have a problem with Pratt currently.

It is however almost 100% certain he will run for office at some point. Like, it’s painfully obvious. So let’s see what his policies we will run on.

My guess is it will be right wing fodder. But hopefully not too right wing, because he definitely has a shot.

    • Darla says:

Oh wow I never thought about this. Why didn’t I? Huh. I have Evans marked as one who is considering going into politics. Pratt. Oh jesus.

Well, maybe some day we will get the real battle of the Chris’s huh?

      • Sofia says:

I figured that out when he married a Kennedy/a Governor’s daughter. Not that he doesn’t love her for who she is or whatever but I’m sure her family and her political connections were a massive draw if he was thinking about politics before meeting her.

      • Darla says:

You’re right Sofia. I really find him so blah, I never think about him. I should have considered this. Ugh.

    • Laura says:

Huh? I see literally no indication of that. He’s a typical gun loving, jesus freak Republican who follow Ben Shapiro among others on Instagram. But I don’t think he has any ambitions to become political in public.

      • Chris says:

I really hope not because he has no qualifications and doesn’t strike me as that bright. Not everyone has to be a genius, but I would hope you’d have some intelligence if other people’s lives depend on you.

      • tcbc says:

Trump, Reagan, even Pratt’s FIL, Arnold. Republicans love to moan about entertainers talking politics but they sure love voting for them.

    • Riley says:

He’s a major MAGA Republican who married into a famously Democratic family. Yes, they have political connections but I don’t know how he could use them to further his political career.

      • MsIam says:

Well so was/is Arnold and he rode that train to the governor’s mansion. So I could see a Pratt’s hampster wheel brain turning……

      • Riley says:

MsIam that’s a fair point, I totally forgot about Arnold! In my mind there’s a big difference between the type of Republican Arnold is and the type that Pratt is though.

    • Anna says:

Yes. Everything changed for him right before and after he started dating/married her. Divorced, slimmed down and buffed up, started doing these major superhero movies away from the less serious character roles, started being associated with right wing church, marrying into big legendary political family, etc. Definitely the path, all of this similar to his father-in-law’s path to politics…

      • Sass says:

Anna, he was actually still four years away from divorcing his first wife when he lost that weight and got the role in the first Guardians.

    • Sass says:

I agree. The second he showed up to the Kennedy compound I knew.

  11. ABritGuest says:

A poll about the Hollywood Chris’- was it really that serious though? But silence to actual racism, sexism, misogyny suffered by other Marvel/Disney colleagues. They should have kept this

  12. Yolanda says:

I really don’t understand why they make this a big deal.
The best chris, worst chris game is nothing new,but those celebrities acting like this really just draw more attention to why he is the worst chris.

  13. Sofia says:

Why can’t big boy Pratt defend himself? Why does his co-stars and wife need to jump to his defence? And no offence, I HATE people who go “Why can’t we all get along and be nice?111!!!11” Sorry Katherine but I’m not going to be “nice” to MAGAts and people who support homophobic churches.

And “who’s the best Chris” debate happens every other week on the internet. It’s not a big deal.

  14. Becks1 says:

I saw the post about “one Chris has to go” and then I saw the RDJ etc posts, but I didn’t connect them until this morning. I thought something “really” bad had happened regarding Chris Pratt. I didn’t realize it was just a response to that post. It makes the other celebs look bad, IMO, to come out swinging like that in defense of….an internet poll about “the Chrises.” (Chrises? Chris’s?)

  15. chicken tetrazzini! says:

Pratt skipped the WiDems Parks & Rec event too… He wasn’t missed

  16. BlueSky says:

This only confirms that he is indeed the worst Chris. What a snowflake! Wasn’t he and his ex put on some “no adopt” list after the way they treated a cat?

  17. S808 says:

I agree that Pine is THEE best. At this point we can throw Pratt out of the running cause it’s always unanimous that he’s the worst. The marvel cast that spoke up really have some nerve when Brie has been getting absolutely shit on for years now by incles, Mackie was getting shit on by CA stans for taking over the role, Zendaya was being shit on for not being a white redhead MJ and none of them said a word. Now they all wanna rally around Pratt cause of some stupid Twitter poll? It’s not even the first time he’s lost??? Wow he came fourth in the which rich white man do you like the least poll. Oh the horror!

  18. YAS says:

It’s his right not the political and it is his right to belong to a church that’s well-known for harboring and espousing anti-LGTBQ beliefs. Just as it is the right of cultural consumers to voice that they don’t like him because of said things. Why, oh why, is it so difficult for people to understand this?

Would it be great to live in a world where politics could just be politics? SURE. But that time ain’t now because a certain side of the poilitical spectrum keeps making people’s very existence and equality a political issue and then stand back aghast as to why those groups unite and push to be recognized as equals. And then others stand by, watch it happen, and then fall back on the “I’m just not that political” excuse. To borrow a phrase from, and I can’t believe I’m saying this, Bill Burr, “Sit down, shut up, and take your talking to.”

    • whatWHAT? says:

“I’m just not political” = EXTREME PRIVILEGE

      • YAS says:

        Yup. That’s a fact.

Also, what in the HELL kinda Christian principle is Pratt living when he supports institutions that spew this garbage and defy Christ’s more valuable teachings like “don’t be a d*ck to poor people?” Get out of here with that sanctimous BS. Jesus Christ was pretty unequivocal about doing every single thing in your power to uplift the poor, but he never said anything about gay folks.

      • Chris says:

THIS! Silence is complicity at this point. I mean have these white dudes learned nothing? You don’t get to be a good person if you don’t actively try to fight against oppression, I dont care how much your equally privileged coworkers like you. This is the (longggggggg overdue) time of people learning how to be anti-racist not just not racist, deeply impeded sexism and homophobia and ableism. At this point by not taking an open stance when youre that influential is willful. I don’t even know what to say to RDJ except his response is disgusting.

  19. AnnaKist says:

“He sounds charming,” said the crickets. So, Chris Pratt really is a prat.or a bell end. Or both.

  20. grabbyhands says:

Everyone involved should feel horrifically embarrassed about how extra they are being about a stupid Twitter meme that the whole planet would have forgotten about within days if they hadn’t posted all these stupid support posts about it.

Jaysus – did Pratt and his wife speed dial everyone in the MCU to cry about his hurt fee fees?? This isn’t even the first time this particular meme has been around – I have seen it literally dozens of times.

I find it very telling that Ruffalo jumps to defending his political beliefs considering the fact that absolutely no qualifying information was given for whatever reason you would disqualify one Chris over another. Zoe Saldana in particular should have just sat and ate her food considering she was a 45 defender at one point.

Is there any ego more fragile than a white male?

    • Also Ali says:

      +1

    • Keekey says:

Yep, a clear example of the Streisand Effect! People on Twitter play the “one gotta go” game all the time with everything (candy bars, movies, etc.). Everyone would have forgotten this within 24-hours, but fragile Pratt made it a story and now everyone’s talking about his MAGA tendencies and his whining. LOL.

  21. lobstah says:

NO. He got rid of a pet dog and a pet cat — someone found the little Chihuahua emaciated by the side of the road if I recall correctly. He’s the worst.

  22. Summergirl says:

Wasn’t Katherine Schwarzenegger recently vocally anti-Trump? How could she stand to get married to a MAGA guy, if he is that?

He is obviously the worst Chris, quite apart from his personal life and politics. He simply has the least to offer as a movie star.

    • lucy2 says:

She is anti-Trump and has posted things in support of Biden. I believe her Republican father is supporting Biden as well.
Pratt has not said or done anything supporting Trump or indicating he’s a MAGA guy, but he definitely deeply conservative.

      • sunhitsthesky says:

Well he openly follows many Alt-Right accounts on instagram including Ben Shapiro, Turning Point USA and PragerU. So he has “done” something to indicate his beliefs.

    • Sofia says:

His views don’t bother her because she’s a rich, white woman who will almost never have her rights threatened. His views don’t effect her personally.

      • NixD says:

Yep! That’s also why Chris can afford to “not be a political person”. He’s rich and white too.

      • Darla says:

True Nix, but I don’t buy the “he’s not political” BS his bros are selling. Who follows Tucker Carlson and Ben Shapiro but isn’t into politics? Find a person who isn’t political who even knows who Ben Shapiro is. You can’t. This is BS being peddled by Ruffio and RDJ. it’s nonsense. They must think we are really stupid.

      • Summergirl says:

Sofia, I hear you on that, but Trump voters are anathema to anyone with any sense of decency, integrity, humanity etc etc. Anyone who is a Trump voter is painfully ignorant and has a completely skewed sense of values. So her rights might not be personally affected, but how could she live with someone like that?

      • Sofia says:

@Summergirl: There are some people who do support Trump if only because of the tax breaks he provides. Pratt could be one of them and perhaps quietly or not so quietly agrees with some homophobic views and Katherine either a) also agrees. b) think it’s not “major” enough to be a dealbreaker for a privileged woman like her.

      • Traveler says:

        Exactly Sofia.

    • lola says:

Well, Pratt MIGHT be anti-Trump and he’s keeping his mouth shut to keep his MAGA fans. And that’s almost as bad as being a Trump supporter.

  23. MellyMel says:

All this whining doesn’t change the fact that he’s the worst Chris. Katherine should have left this one alone and also learn what bullying actually is. Anyways…Pine is THE best Chris period!

  24. Hildog says:

The way he and Anna Faris treat animals is horrific and I couldn’t care less about his feelings. I am always team Chris Evans.

    • Courtney B says:

Me too. The best Chris. I sort of excuse Pine because he’s not on social media so doesn’t have the opportunity to step in or not. Smart or scared? 🙂

Most everyone who defended him was at the fundraiser and I really do think it had more to do with that than the poll. He was getting dragged for not participating and his religious and political beliefs because of that more than a poll that’s been done multiple times.

And maybe Brie doesn’t care or want them defending her. Who knows? Maybe she doesn’t want her male costars swooping in like she’s a fragile damsel. They certainly made their approval of her as Captain Marvel from the start, especially Evans and supported her strongly during the press tour for Endgame when the vitriol was still high as Captain Marvel had just come out shortly before. You can show your support in many ways without engaging the trolls directly.

    • ash says:

The only right answer is Chris Evans!

  25. Melissai says:

Dump Chris Pratt and add Chris Messina (The Mindy Project). I agree with the person who said he can have the politics he wants. But as consumers we can call him out. At the very least we can agree Pratt is the most basic Chris.

  26. SJ Knows says:

OK, here’s my ranking of the Chris Club
    #1. Pine
    #2. Hemsworth
#3. Evans, who because of his dog, Dodger, should really be #1.
#4 Pratt? Nope, not even on the list for me. No idea how he ever got a job in Hollywood, he looks like every white guy falling outta the neighborhood bars in my small-ish town.

And J. Renner? No. All the time, no.

Btw, Paul Rudd is just so, so cute! lol

I appreciate this ranking. Chris Pine alllllllll day long. Can sing, seems kind and socially conscious(if pretentious), funny, and can act.

Chris Pratt seems like a pratt. I mean, I have heard he is lovely in person but his church supports some hella shady things(Conversion therapy) and he was just mocking celebs encouraging voting(which everyone should encourage voting) so I think his beliefs are pretty horrible.

What stinks about this story is how his colleagues ran to defend him when tumbleweeds when female marvel cast members are harassed. Not a good look at all.

  27. Jodi says:

I stopped following him on Instagram a few weeks ago when he posted a snarky VOTE post to plug his own movie but also make fun of how everyone is urging people to VOTE in the one of the most important elections of our time… no thanks, Pratt. You’re not funny.

  28. Case says:

Why are his celebrity buddies and wife making such a big deal of this? It’s really bizarre. The “Rank the Hollywood Chrises” game has been around for years, lol. It’s not meant to be serious or mean, it’s just a silly game.

As for the politics thing — I don’t hold it against any celebrity if they don’t want to be vocal about their politics. That’s not the job of entertainment folks and it’s not our business. But I will say that I respect celebrities much more if they use their platform for good causes, even if it means losing some fans in the process.

  29. Emily says:

This reminds me of the Taylor Swift during the last election. Although I don’t think Taylor actively dogwhistled her MAGA fans.

    • Chris says:

Taylor Swift said that she was so widely disliked at the time she thought her open endorsement would actually hurt Hillary. I mean, who knows, but chris pratt is pretty obviously conservative so I don’t know who he’s trying to fool.

      • Emily says:

True. I also don’t remember the celeb world falling over backwards to defend Taylor like they are with Chris. (I know she had made some enemies with her drama but still.)

  30. NixD says:

His face just looks highly punchable, so yeah, he gets my vote as the worst.

  31. T.Fanty says:

The whole “let’s be kind/love matters” thing is such a stale and tired go-to from the Trumper-who-can’t-take-criticism toolbox. Snowflakes. The only thing missing was a US flag, heart, and white praying-hands emoji sequence.

    • Darla says:

LOL. I bet there’s not a bigger Karen in the world than Kathleen.

      • Sofia says:

She seems like a typical (white) trust fund kid to me with an extra helping of “Let’s all be nice. God loves all his children!”

  32. My3cents says:

At least Evan’s used his dick to get people to vote. Prat was just a dick about celebrities urging people to vote.

  33. TheOriginalMia says:

GMAFB! Pratt is proud of his beliefs. And I’m proud to say, he isn’t the type of person I want to associate with. That’s life. Pratt, RDJ, Ruffalo, and Saldana can just deal with it. Each of them has dealt with people slagging them, and I don’t remember Pratt rushing to their defenses. And Brie would like to have a word with each of them. Always capping for the mediocre white man, instead of letting him deal with the consequences of his actions.

  34. lola says:

I expected better from Ruffalo. Not surprised by RDJ, but I really thought Ruffalo would get it since he’s so “woke”

  35. Chris says:

How nice of him that he can afford to not be “overly political.” The rest of us non white rich males have our humanity on the line and don’t have that luxury.

So he can be snarky about voting but when people are snarky about him in a relatively milquetoast way it’s the greatest offense of the last century? Yeah, ok. Way to prove everyone’s opinion about you my guy. I also need mark Ruffalo to sit down. Pratt may hold the belief that I shouldn’t have ultimate control over my uterus. We can’t agree to disagree about my humanity even if you can Mark.

  36. MF1 says:

The thing that Pratt doesn’t understand is that us ladies on the internet find woke men hot. If he wants to be loved and admired by the same women who drool over Pine, then he’s got to get with the times.

And yes, you can be churchy and woke at the same time. If Justin Bieber can manage to be, then so can Pratt.

  37. BnLurkN4eva says:

I will just put my vote in for Chris Pine like I always do whenever this contest comes up. I don’t understand what’s different about this time around.

  38. Emily says:

I just never expected Who Is the Best Chris, a usually non-serious social media joke that has been around for years (?), to blow up into a national news story! I saw the original tweet on my timeline and thought it was funny and immediately read the tweets because I knew Chris Pratt would be called out in the Tweets. Notice how none of the other Chrises have stepped up to defend him (though I could understand why, if I were a Chris I would not want to wade into that either). For me it’s a tie between Chris Pine and Chris Evans as Best Chris. 😀

I loved Chris Pratt as Andy Dwyer on Parks and Rec (one of my fave shows) and he is talented but his track record with animals, politics, and LGBT issues are just terrible and that can’t be overlooked.

    • The Recluse says:

The next time they do the Best Chris game they should throw in Chris Meloni – American Treasure and Snarkmeister just to blow up the voting. If they did, even Hemsworth might not make the cut or just barely make it, but Pratt would still be bringing up the rear of that horse race.

      • Korra says:

Umm, Hemsworth tend to do really well in these Chris competitions. He is the perennial #2 and once in awhile even makes it to #1. Outside of this site, he is pretty well-liked.

  39. Darla says:

I don’t feel I can really say for sure who the best Chris is without dinner and sex with each. I need to see how funny they are over dinner, and then hit the sack. I mean, Pratt’s eliminated, so it would be just three of them. Would that make me a slut? I feel it’s for science, so no? And who knows Thor could pull off a real surprise and I could end up being like; no Hemsworth is the best Chris period, and now it’s proved.

    It’s called the Scientific Method.

  40. Tanya says:

Imagine being Chris Pratt and having such a fragile ego.

  41. Amber says:

Chris Pratt reminds me uncannily of Ronald Reagan. A big burly guy with no real talent who has one impressive early role (in Pratt’s case, he really is charming on Parks and Rec) and then starts to have political ambitions. I can feel it. Reagan named names to the FBI/House Un-American Activities Committee in 1947, ratting out his colleagues in the film industry as communists (some of them actually were communists, but some of them weren’t). As a result many people were officially or unofficially blacklisted from working in Hollywood. It destroyed livelihoods and careers. He was a rat, and it was kind of the beginning of his political career. Deeply dishonorable. Pratt would do the same thing, trust. Because he resents being the “conservative one” in a liberal industry.

  42. L4frimaire says:

I can’t believe this silly internet game blew up to a crisis management situation for this guy. So many of these “ pick one, one has to go” things pop up all the time. You click and move on. It really funny and he doesn’t need defending for anything. He’ll still do his Marvel movies and get his big checks.

  43. damjana says:

    @DARLA

    Agree about RDJ.
This is why I am not a fan. His response when Inarritu was criticizing superhero movies:
“Look, I respect the heck out of him [and] for a man whose native tongue is Spanish to be able to put together a phrase like ‘cultural genocide’ just speaks to how bright he is”

    Downey has always been nasty.

    • Darla says:

WOW. This is the first I heard that Damjana. Wow, what a pr*ck.

    • Jaded says:

Downey’s gone from one end of the spectrum to another. At one point he was a fucked-up drug addict breaking into people’s houses and wandering around in the middle of the night gibbering and drooling. Google some of his police shots. His wife pushed him into a 12 step and Mel Gibson underwrote his liability insurance so he could make The Singing Detective. At that point his career took off and he became, IMHO, one of the most swell-headed, arrogant, sanctimonious a-holes on the planet, and seems to have remained one. Woke schmoke…he’s just another filthy rich, Hollywood white boy.

    • lucy2 says:

Ew, I must have missed that.
Once he regained his sobriety and had a ton of success, he’s seemed very pompous and pretentious to me. That comment makes me think he’s a whole lot of other not so good things too.

      • Jezebel's Lacefront says:

Yeah. He’s shown his ass many times. I guess some folks forget where they’ve been. Often, these folks tend to get a reminder real soon, if they’re not paying attention.

  44. kerwood says:

I get the feeling that, whatever his politics are, Pratt is a good co-worker and a good friend, which is why some of his co-workers came to his defense. I’ve never heard anything bad about him professionally.

As far as the ‘Chris-game’ goes, I don’t get the Chris Pine love at all. He’s an okay actor but I don’t find him attractive and wouldn’t care if I never saw him in another film again. I’ve always found Hemsworth to be pretty shady. He and his wife had no problem going after Miley Cyrus. I’m definitely not a Miley fan but I thought it was tacky to kick at her when she was down, especially when his wife’s past doesn’t bear much close scrutiny. In my opinion, Hemsworth is an okay supporting actor who gets pushed into leading roles because he looks good without his shirt on.

My favourite Evans is Chris. It seems that he’s a searcher and I like that.

  45. DS9 says:

Someone tell that La Croix Kennedy that she’s the only one required to find her husband hot and his producers and agents are only ones who need to find him talented.

It’s not our fault that the Chris pool is deep and wide and he’s easily outmatched.

  46. Blerg says:

What the hell is MAGA-adjacent? We’re all MAGA-adjacent until Trump is voted out. And if these people who actually know Chris Pratt say he’s a good guy, I believe them.

    • Darla says:

I use the phrase often, and in fact wrote about white women with that term. The ones I personally know. Some of them may not be MAGA themselves but MAGA-adjacent best describes them because their pool of sexual partners, past and present, and future too, are MAGA. And they don’t let that bother them. Their morals are as limited as their imaginations, which is why they only view white D as viable. And that’s how they became MAGA-adjacent in the first place.

And no, I don’t view the testimonials of other rich white bros as convincing evidence of anyone’s decency.

  47. cherriepie84 says:

Suck it up @ Worst Chris! This would have all been long forgotten if only his superhero bros didnt make such a big spectacle of flying to his defense.

  48. AnnaC says:

Honestly, for me it would have to be Chris Evans, he is so vanilla!! He is just so bland and lacking in substance! I know a lot of people seem to like him but I think that’s really his arms they like and also the fact he gives so little away! But really he is a mediocre actor and has absolutely no resonance, for me. I shall delete him from my list and don’t we all love Chris Pine? He has such a great face, smile and hair! I like these pertinent issues! 😁

  49. Digital Unicorn says:

I don’t mind him as an actor but not too keen on him as a person.

There IS ONLY ONE Chris – Pine the Fine!!! Hemsworth is no.2 and Evans, Lily James can keep him.

  50. Sorella says:

Gawd celebrities are so delicate like flowers – they can’t take anything except adoration. All of them defending him like it is the worst thing to happen – seriously? He should have laughed it off and they should have ignored it and nobody would have paid attention to it after a couple of days.

So maybe they should do the worst Robert , the worst Mark (I am fan but..) and the worst Zoe (Kravitz would win. Somebody needs to get on that lol.

  51. Tina says:

Glad to see others mentioned the bad pet ownership. Giving away an elderly cat because it is old and has health issues?! Disgusting! That’s what kind of person he is. Terrible

  52. Jaxonmeh says:

I do find this entire debacle interesting.
Maybe some or all of it is even true about Chris Pratt on his political leanings, but I love how some of these statements that people are making in this thread are based on bread crumbs of information.

People are complicated. None of your favorite actors and actresses are perfect and align with you on everything. Even the ones with carefully curated public personas. Because that’s all that really is.

Chris Pratt, at best, has holes in his curated public persona. But that doesn’t mean anyone knows for sure what that really means. A lot of these comments are punctuated with speculation to justify their anger over someone they don’t really know. Kinda sounds familiar, because that’s what the extreme on the other side does too on pick a viewpoint.

That said, I’m not a fan of his anymore and haven’t been for awhile. But I’d probably like him as an actual human being. Which is what I believe why his costars are reacting in the way they are. Justified to you or not.

    • Darla says:

You kumbaya people just don’t get it. How many times does this have to be explained to people?? When you’re white and living in a privileged situation, you can afford to say “well I don’t allow politics to get in between me and family or friends”. Because the policies which result from those politics don’t really affect you , or if they do, it’s in a positive way, ie tax cuts.

Meanwhile, a mother has her baby ripped from her arms and never sees her child again. The child is terrified, not being held or loved, and is also made vulnerable to predators. A young black man is shot to death for jogging. Another, older black man, dies slowly on camera, his last word “mama”.

And white people go on voting for this because THEY ARE NEVER HELD TO ACCOUNT. Because pollyannas say, oh they are perfectly nice to me, how intolerant of you!! Everyone’s entitled to their opinion! And millions of other Pollyanna’s give you likes online. And you all form a circle-jerk of entitled asshats making each other feel good.

      And so it goes…

And for any bs about oh you don’t know for sure, yeah I do. Go look at his Insta followers, see who he does follow and who he doesn’t. It’s all out there, he is putting it out there for you. And then has his white bros cape for him. because after all, he’s funny on set. GTFOH

      • Jaxonmeh says:

@Darla I do get it. I think your reactions on this are as disgusting as MAGATs actually in all of the issues I support. Both are not below taking breadcrumbs of information and stretch into something that meets their specific prejudice and then they expound on it.

I’m definitely not a kumbaya kinda person. I just think you are being ridiculous. But continue to tell me what kind of person you think I am based on the breadcrumbs off my posts.

I just don’t tolerate bullshit. This is bullshit.

      • Darla says:

I musta struck a nerve Miss Karen.

  53. WW1 says:

Regarding the 2nd Lord Downey and the apparent Barry Lyndon of our age, Crisp Rat.

Yes, how dare us mere plebs express an opinion on a stupid Twitter semi poll?! Don’t us filthy peasants KNOW and UNDERSTAND that our Lordeth Pratt is of the utmost piety and hath married into the finest of dynasties?!?!?! This insult (based on the filthy rabble’s judgments of choices he’s made as if it is their place) is made to the kin to the Houses of Kennedy and Schwarzenegger! How dare any of the lower tier distract themselves from the hood and proper tarring and feathering of that Larson strumpet to disparage the goodly Lord Pratt and suggesteth him to be the least fuckable of the Chrises?!?! Now, back to pyre where we were rightly burning Goody Larson for the preaching the damnable blasphemies of diversity and feminism!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥

  54. Bethany says:

Did y’all see that Prager U commented positively on RDJ’s insta post? Love these white men tripping over themselves to expose their fakeness

  55. Chick b says:

I can’t with this. A group of individuals worth over $300 million wants to scold the interwebs bc a few folks dissed their pal who’s worth $60 million, who is still getting hired on the regular. Exactly how much appreciation and positive feedback does one need in life?

  56. Veronica S. says:

Lol, stop searching for yourselves in the tags, celebrities. I’m neutral on Pratt, but I’m sure he can comfort himself by hugging a pillow stuffed with hundred dollar bills.

  57. Jezebel's Lacefront says:

I stand by my vote. He’s the worst. Also, this behavior from his co-workers prove why he’s been voted so. His fragility adds to the reasoning.

    What a weakling.

  58. Isa says:

I don’t like any of the Chrises really. They all exemplify interchangeable and almost identical white male privilege and exude varying degrees of frat boy arrogance, aggression, and smugness. (Especially Pine, I do not see why people like him or find him attractive. But hey, that’s subjectivity for you. He might be a perfectly nice person given his privilege blinders… maybe…)

The *entire point* is that these four truly basic white guys have these giant franchise careers while Black people and POC struggle. The system is ridiculous. I’m sick of catering to men and pretending they’re awesome when they’re not. Jason Momoa is awesome. These guys are marshmallows.

    • Darla says:

You have some really good points here. And I do stan Momoa. He’s so real.

    • tamora says:

Agree with all of this but I do think of the four, Chris Evans, is the only one who has actually DONE something with his platform in an admirable way. Beyond co-creating A Starting Point (which we’re using at my nonprofit as part of our civic empowerment toolkit), he is quite vocal on Twitter and IG about his political views and encouraging people to vote, BLM, environmental justice, etc. I haven’t heard a peep from the other Chris’ (Pine too!). So while I don’t feel sorry for any of these dudes (especially Pratt), I do think Evans is a solid dude, first name Chris or not.

  59. Meg says:

‘Theres so many more important things happening in the world today than this guys!’
Exactly so why comment to defend your husband and coworker? This was a dumb social media convo starter and you’re taking it way too seriously

‘Being mean is so yesterday.’ LMAO
How old is she? And again how is saying you prefer others over someone is mean? MEAN? Really?

  60. Valerie says:

My favourite Chris is Christopher Guest.

  61. Sass says:

Ew RDJ gross. That tweet. Yuck.

  62. Zaya says:

His defenders acted like we were calling for his head. No, we didn’t cancel him. We didn’t demand that he be fired from Guardians or Jurassic Park. We just saw that out of the four chrises, he’s the worst.

And even if you discount him wearing his don’t thread on my rifts tee, him giving away his cat and dog, his cheating rumors, him following ben Shapiro, tucker Carlson, prager u, his homophobic church, etc…etc…etc…he would still be the one chosen to leave Chris island.

  63. Likeyoucare says:

The one defending him is taking it personally because they are him; snowflakes white privillege boys and afraid they will be next.

  64. Rose says:

Years ago Pratt tweeted that he wanted to give away his elderly cat and said, ” I want to start a family and we ABSOLUTELY CANNOT have an animal that sh*ts all over the house. Sorry. If you are a parent you will understand. And if not, that probably explains why you have such a hard on for cats. Just sayin’.” Gave that senior cat away to strangers. Then had to pay a $5000 fine to an animal shelter from which he and his then-wife Anna Faris adopted a chihuahua, after the little dog was found emaciated, wandering the streets. The photos of the poor dog are horrific! Pratt had signed a contract when adopting the chihuahua, saying that he would turn it back to the shelter if he was ever unable to take care of it. Instead, he gave it away when he was tired of it and the dog apparently was subsequently abandoned or ran away. Then there he is wife, Kathleen. When her father Arnold Schwarzenegger fathered a child with an employee who was Latina, Kathleen and her siblings decided to cold-shoulder that child, Joseph Baena. Joseph was blameless, and tried to befriend his brothers and sisters, who relentlessly snubbed him. A lot of racism and classism there, they often mention his race and that his mother was a housekeeper. I could see them rejecting his mother out of loyalty to their own mother, but not the blameless child of that union. Joseph has always taken the high road and spoken well of his father’s family. That is probably why it’s a paradox that Kathleen and Chris Pratt claim to be Christian yet will not offer forgiveness and love to the blameless Joseph. And then there are the statements Pratt has made, like why he loves to kill coyotes , “They are assholes”! Honestly, this guy does himself no favors.

    • Darla says:

Thanks for putting this all into one post like this. I didn’t know that about Kathleen Kennedy. So, interestingly, I can speak to that personally, because I’ve been there, and not only did I not behave in such a cruel manner, I didn’t have feelings that I wanted to, at all. That tells me a lot about her. All I need to know really.

  65. Winterforever says:

    MAGA-Lord

  66. Bibi says:

I’m old enough to remember how ordinary folks on the interweb rallied around Chris Evans after the 🍆🍆 pics, which, tbh, shows how decent he is as a human being bcos strangers went to bat for him. What does it say about Pratt that barely any non-celebrity is standing for him? For that matter, even those speaking for him all reek of privilege and fragility. RDJ himself sounds problematic and condescending. Not a good look.

  67. Carmelita says:

Setting politics aside, even though his disgust me, just what he’s done to his pets alone makes him irredeemable. There’s no excuse whatsoever for treating animals like that.

  68. Maryanne Dillard says:

I heard that he raises lambs for slaughter too, What a despicable person!

  69. Mina_Esq says:

Let’s not pretend we need any of the Chris’s when we still have Paul Rudd in the fold.

  70. K says:

It’s kind of fun to pick your “best Chris” (favorite), and mine is without a doubt, Chris Evans–but I think it’s just childish and mean to rank all four of these men or spend time picking on Pratt. Just ignore him unless he does something clearly terrible.

If he votes for Trump I’ll consider him an idiot, but I don’t see confirmation of that or him out there celebrating Trump publicly, so we shouldn’t just presume to know his morals and politics.
