Don’t worry, Ivanka Trump is being sent out to win back white suburban women

Ivanka Trump Visit to PA

Granted, I haven’t watched the news since Donald Trump tested positive for coronavirus (it feels like that happened months ago, right?), but doesn’t it seem like Ivanka Trump has been in the wind for a while? Part of me thinks that Ivanka is quietly figuring out her post-White House plans, and perhaps considering a move out of the country. But another part of me realizes that Ivanka *has* been campaigning on behalf of her father, and the reason we aren’t hearing that much about her is because she sucks at it. Take this recent campaign appearance:

In case you don’t want to hear her lisp through her fake teeth, she says: “During this pandemic, we’ve reconnected to some of life’s simple pleasures. Board games, for example. We’ve dusted off all of ours, for sure. I took up playing guitar, because my husband was working very late nights. I’d come home, after I’d put the kids to bed and after I went back online and finished my work, I’d be sitting there, and so I taught myself — or am teaching myself — how to play guitar.” Ah, yes. So relatable! To be a wife, a mother of three, senior advisor to the president, daddy’s favorite child AND deal with the pandemic by playing board games and teaching yourself to play the guitar. Meanwhile, millions of Americans are unemployed and being evicted because of the pandemic, which Ivanka’s administration has done nothing about.

But that’s not all! Apparently, this is all part of some kind of last-ditch effort by the Trump campaign. They think Ivanka will help them win back suburban white women. LOL.

The Trump campaign’s last-ditch effort to win back the suburban women fleeing the president in the polls has fallen to one person: Ivanka Trump. In the past six weeks, Trump has made personal appeals for her father at 17 campaign stops, engaging in intimate question-and-answer sessions where she tells stories about the president. She’s made stops at local businesses to pose with children in Halloween costumes. She’s bought cider and doughnuts. She’s rolled out bread for baking.

It’s the traditional politicking that is hard to imagine coming from any other Trump family member, let alone President Donald Trump himself. Her brothers, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, and her sister-in-law, Lara Trump, are mostly sent out to throw red meat to Trump’s conservative base. So Ivanka Trump has become the de facto head of the eleventh-hour campaign to appeal to swing voters, specifically the white college educated women who helped propel the president’s come-from-behind victory in 2016.

But with polls showing Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden winning that slice of women by 20 percentage points or more, it’s a taxing assignment. Ivanka Trump has visited 10 battleground states — Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Nevada and Arizona — and expects to campaign in Pennsylvania, Florida and North Carolina again before the election, one Trump political aide said.

Aides say Trump was eager to hit the campaign trail to ensure that Americans recognize what’s at stake in the election. “She wants to make sure people understand what four more years of Donald Trump means — delivering for and uplifting all Americans,” the first aide said.

Still, political analysts are skeptical that a last-minute attempt to soften the president’s coarse politics will have much of an effect.

“The reality is that women voters are looking at the substance of what’s happened,” said Debbie Walsh, director of the Center for American Women and Politics at Rutgers University. “It’s kind of late, three weeks out, to try suddenly to be having a different tone and tenor. I don’t think she alone can make up for what these women have been seeing the last four years.”

I mean… clearly, Melania Trump is not going to do it. Mel said “f–k Christmas” and now she’s pretending to still feel terrible with the coronavirus, which she can drag out for another week and a half and clearly avoid the rest of the election cycle. So it’s left to Ivanka to try to put the glossy, plastic face on fascism. Will it work? I think that much like Eric and Don Jr’s efforts, Ivanka is largely preaching to the Nazi choir. She’s not actually trying to convince swing-voter women to “come back to Trump.” She’s telling white female Trump supporters that they made the right choice, that their whiteness is more important than democracy or fairness or economic stability.

. . .with her new face! In the top picture, I got vibes of Elle or Dakota Fanning (can never tell them apart) and in the second picture she is totally unrecognizable. Maybe that is a strategy to escape justice once her fake and highly paid “job” is over. “Who’s Ivanka? Do I LOOK like Ivanka?”

    • Michael says:

Elle and Dakota Fanning are easy to tell apart because Elle is about 8 inches taller than her older sister. Also I like the Fanning sisters and it is a shame that anybody would compare Ivanka to them. Just saying

It is important to note that Nagini manages to schedule some “official White House business” into each day that she campaigns, which means that we, the taxpayers, not the Trump campaign, cover the costs of travel, meals, and lodging for her and her very large staff. And Nagini believes we all love her so very much and all want her words of wisdom and want to be just like her and anyone who says otherwise is jealous. Jealous of what, I couldn’t say. She has achieved absolutely nothing in this life other than what was handed to her or she stole.

    • lucy2 says:

      Grifters gonna grift.

I hope they are all prosecuted, and their assets are seized and forfeited to the US government/taxpayers.

    • Earl says:

      Nagini. LOL. Perfect.

    • Truthiness says:

I don’t trust any of her visits! She was visiting key swing states in 2016 in the month before the election, always alone and it always looked off to me. Quiet with no big fuss, The states she visited squeaked through with surprising results. I would not be surprised if she was making payments like a modern day bag man, The board games and guitar sounds like she is off technology like a practicing orthodox for a single day a week.

  5. minx says:

I would guess her appearances weren’t warmly received; who can relate to this trick? And she looks like an alien.

    • whatWHAT? says:

she is SO WEIRD looking these day. her nose is disappearing with each successive surgery. the “bug eyes” and tiny nose and painted lips…she’s like a cartoon. and why does her hair not move? like, only the ends move but the hair that’s on her head and not hanging lose doesn’t. hair product or wig?…

    • Mac says:

And she has terrible taste in clothes.

    • Korra says:

I have heard that she actually doesn’t poll well with Trump’s base. Despite the fact that she is the female equivalent of her father, she is still seen as a coastal elite.

I’m going to allow myself to feel excited about watching these people slink back into their holes after they lose hard in November. They are greedy, money grabbing grifters so I realize they will continue to pursue gigs at Fox and maybe start their own craptastic TV network or whatever, but it will still be fun to witness their removal from office.

    • Chris says:

This is really what they’ve always wanted anyway. I still subscribe to the idea Trump didn’t actually want the job of president, he just wanted to win a fanbase to transition into his own talk show and sell some sh@#. I fully believe all of the rumors that he hates his fanbase and thinks they’re stupid. He’s probably happy they are though so he can easily sell trump brand merch next year from a golf course.

  7. Chris says:

Yeah no honey, you’re wasting your time. I’ll give a big “bless your heart” to that.

I forgot about the “f–k Christmas” thing which was honestly pretty funny. I mean Melania is a ghoul like the rest of them, but making fun of how stupid it is to make first ladies decorate for Christmas is spot on. It’s a dated tradition. That being said, what else is she doing? Most first ladies of the modern era are accomplished and educated, asking them to decorate is kind of sexist. Again, none of this is considered by the trump cult leaders, just a general observation. Melania isn’t Hillary Clinton or Michelle Obama with real projects going on or anything else so what exactly is she whining about? An uncredited decorator probably did all of the work anyway.

  8. FHMom says:

Did anyone read Aubrey O’Days tweets last night? She says Ivanka is a lesbian on the low. Wasn’t she friends with Junior or something? Her tweets made me Lol last night. They are probably down by now. Those photos of Ivanka look nothing like her.

    • GreenBunny says:

Not just friends, she dated Jr and supposedly he wanted to marry her. And he was married at the time too. I would love to see the receipts

    • lucy2 says:

She was dishing some serious dirt of all of them.

    • Tiffany :) says:

The most surprising bit for me was that Barron is a jerk and threw his plate across the plane when he didn’t like the meal he was served.

    • PixiePaperdroll says:

I hope her tweets earn their own post. I was cackling.

      • Kkat says:

Yes! that whole thing was hilarious
it def should get it’s own post, tons of juicy dirt dished

Like Eric while married banging miss universe on a conference room table

  9. AL says:

I’m completely fascinated that they are still using “Make America Great Again”….I mean, you had 4 years to do that. If you’re using the same campaign slogan – and it indicates that the previous administration didn’t do their job, and it’s four years later…that’s YOUR administration. She does look beautiful here – but in a “you’re never going to look like this” kinda way – which isn’t relatable at all to most women who haven’t had their hair colored since February, gained 10 COVID pounds, and have never owned a $4,000 suit. If she’s going for middle-America relatability, she should have taken a page from Kate and started wearing prairie dresses (yuck).

  10. Gina says:

    Haha
The daughter-wife is on the campaign trail because Mel Trump has started packing and preparing to move. Or at least mentally she has.
I think Mel was very happy being the 3rd, trophy wife when she could live that way on her own terms. She wants out of the WH and First Lady gig.

The daughter-wife is trying to appease Daddy. She sees the handwriting on the wall. She too has started preparing for a move.
Did everyone hear about the clown’s campaign has cut back dramatically on ads in key swing states? Possibly can’t afford to run them??

  11. fluffy_bunny says:

I’m in NC and I haven’t heard one word about her campaigning here.

  12. Rapunzel says:

Ivanka’s platitudes about board games make me sick. Such white privilege. Meanwhile, my sis with asthma and a 22 month old baby had to get a covid test because her stupid school district forced her and all her fellow teachers to teach remotely… in an empty classroom on the school campus. Totally unnecessary. With no kids, but plenty of Trumpster colleagues to potentially get her sick because they don’t follow guidelines and she has to sit in meetings with them in person. The test was fortunately negative, but not for her colleague. And they are still forced to go down to campus (no kids in sight).

  13. Leah says:

    “She’s bought cider and doughnuts.“

She’s so out of touch it’s ridiculous. People are dying in a pandemic and all she can offer them is fried dough.

  14. MaryContrary says:

Well, this college educated, white, suburban housewife says GTFO. You belong in jail for tax fraud-you lying, grifting, fake POS.

  15. AnnaKist says:

God. How, could one person be so bloody insufferable ?

  16. shanaynay says:

This little witch needs to STFU and just go away!

  17. Coco says:

I wonder if she and Jared ever feel any discomfort about the fact that the Neo-nazis that Trump panders to follow an ideology that would call for the murder of their children.

Also, did she ask the plastic surgeon working on her nose to give her a Lord Voldemort look?

  18. jferber says:

Michael, no disrespect to the Fanning sisters. I like them, too. Sorry for the jarring comparison.

  19. Chimes@Midnight says:

As a suburban white woman, I for one am relieved! The world is so big and scary outside my kitchen, and it just means so much to me that such a prominent and accomplished figure in American politics is coming to tell me what to do!!!!

  20. Digital Unicorn says:

Ha – GF is campaigning for herself not Daddy, plus she’s gotta show off the new face that taxpayers likely paid for or maybe the campaign donors did.

  21. Christin says:

I still remember the Fail articles of 2016 that claimed she “worked” 16-hour days. She was a super businessperson/super parent and style icon.

Apples don’t fall far from the tree.

  22. Betsy says:

Does anyone care about this pinheaded traitor? I don’t. I care in so much that I look forward to seeing her in an orange jumpsuit someday, but beyond that I would consider her total absence from my life a blessing.

  23. Whit says:

Not that this matters, but for someone who grew up rich in Manhattan she sure does dress like she got all her clothes at a Sears fire sale.

  24. Rise & Shine says:

Ivanka and Jared are (hang on and hold on, wait for it 🙂 yes, even worse than Mr. Trump. I know, you would think that impossible, but they are. They are absolutely awful. Trust me on this one. Do your research. AND they have no right to be in the positions in our government that they are in. Seriously, check them out and then get back to me about Hunter Biden. Seriously? Trumps adult kids are far worse and far more involved than Hunter. So they can shut it about Hunter please. Oh well, several investigations pending, waiting for them in NY and elsewhere. Hope they are out of lives soon! And laughed when a friend of mine in NYC was saying that Ivanka and Donny Jr. are fighting over which one of them will run in NY next, and would they have to go Dem again to win? HA! Like us in NYC or that are Dems are ever going to even take them back again, much less vote for either of them. NOPE, not going to happen. Never. The ego on these people is monstrous and delusional! And worse, Jared and Ivanka actually think they were elected, that they will be INSTALLED (their word, not mine) some day into the White House. Going to stay in politics. That was part of the Trump Kushner plan all along. Please make this over soon for us all, nightmare must end.
