A few days ago, I was truly thinking to myself “I wonder what Blake Lively is up to?” It’s not that I miss her, I just think it’s weird that someone who used to be so ubiquitous in the gossip/celebrity world can just disappear for months at a time now. I know Blake and Ryan Reynolds spend most of their time outside of the major hubs of gossip now (NYC and LA) and they likely live somewhere in upstate New York most of the time? So that’s probably where they vote now too – Ryan is an American citizen, he naturalized a few years ago and this is likely the first presidential election in which he’s been able to vote.
So, Blake posted this photo where she and Ryan are voting early, with a nice message about how it was Ryan’s first time and he cried. Cute, right? Except people were like “what’s up with her shoes??” Ryan posted the same image, and Blake is clearly barefoot (and on her tippy-toes) in the photo. As it turns out, Blake decided to Photoshop some shoes on her feet. For an IG about voting!!

Ryan and Blake then joked about it on their IG Stories, and Blake basically said that she was so happy to be out of a onesie and something about shoes ruining her look, and none of it makes any sense? Why didn’t she just put shoes on, damn.

On another site it was mentioned that she has a contract with louboutin and was probably wearing another brand of shoes. She can’t be photographed wearing an other designer’s shoes, so she took them off for the pic and drew in… these.

I also saw another poster comment that she can’t mix ‘political’ posts with products of said sponsor so likely why she could have taken the shoes off also.
Just saying “go vote!” isn’t political, though. It is civic-minded. If she’d endorsed a candidate, that would be political. It makes more sense to assume she was wearing a brand that she’s not contracted to represent and her contract stipulates that she can’t be photographed in a competitor’s shoes. Of course, in that case, wear an outfit with shoes for the brand you rep if you know you’re going to post your “I voted!” selfie.

They donate a lot of money to charity and promote said charities. Including funding for a program for education for Idigenous Women at a Canadian university and Ryan is donating part of his salary to get BIPOC crew members hired on his sets, but sure ScarJo “I can play a tree if I want” is too good for him.
I’ll still take Scrajo over Blake’s fetish over the antebellum. I thought it’s was hilarious how it was Ryan who issued the apology over having their wedding at the slavery plantation thereby watering down the real criticism. He was able to frame it as simple naivety as if his wife hadn’t dedicated an entire month of website posting to the “glamorous lives” of slave owners. As if she hadn’t been very vocally called out for it. As if she hadn’t ignored all criticism. As if she hadn’t gone ahead to select a slave plantation in full knowledge of the messaging.
Blake is the type of white woman to revel in racial aggression but think it’s all good because she donated some money once upon a time. I’ll take Scarlet who wears her issues openly
I mean can she better? Absolutely. But I feel like she is trying and growing and she is putting her money where her mouth is. She and Ryan have made a lot of donations to a variety of charities in the last seven months and I guess I think that is better than ScarJo who does not apologize, just doubles down because she does not see herself as ever wrong.
Scarjo and Blake are BOTH problematic and tone-deaf. Ryan def has a type-Blondes who are racist and Woody Allen supporters.
I’ll wager my house (albeit with a 50 year mortgage) that Blake is MUCH smarter than Scarlet.
Scarlett is extremely problematic in so many ways but the reality is that she was better known than Ryan and he used her just like he did Alanis Morissette (people forget about that one). The truth is he and Blake are so over the top is because their careers are done more or less. Blake hasn’t done anything relevant or halfway decent since Gossip Girl and Deadpool won’t last forever.

Definitely not alone! Blake’s glorification of the Antebellum on her defunct lifestyle website and her defense of Woody Allen sparked strong levels of disdain from me. Their marriage on a plantation and *very* vague apology years later made me dislike them even more. She clearly romanticizes that era of the Old South and it’s disgusting.
I think you are not in the minority here – Blake is very polarizing and has been for a long time. Ryan is NOT nearly as funny or witty as he thinks he is but I do applaud his “one-man” marketing efforts for his million and one projects. He’s still a flop actor though.

Apparently she took her shoes off because they didn’t match her outfit and she didnt want to be photographed in them. Which is actually pretty funny. Ryan posted the photo first and everyone of course was like “why is she barefoot?!” And so she reposted on her stories withe the drawn on shoes.

I think these two are pretty private and plus he has that anxiety (from having a very stern father apparently) so they’ve picked that bantering PR approach out of safety and to have something out there for the public without sharing too much of themselves. But, yes, I was bored with Ryan’s cute jokey-ness especially with Hugh Jackman (who appears 100% closeted to me, but that’s his business and I could be wrong) from day one. Her pants are too tight. I don’t mind these two; at least they’re trying and learning. It’s bad to cancel people because they take some missteps 30%, 40% of the time. That’s how you alienate people you need to have on your side. Anyway, he’s a decent dramatic actor – for example, in Life he was meant to take the Jake G role but opted for the one he played out of scheduling priorities and he would have been much better than Jake G – but can’t stand most of his films.
