The Rumer Willis publicity express train continues! For the past two weeks we’ve heard how Rumer thinks that everyone with as much “talent” as her will get film work in Hollywood, and then we heard that Rumer fancies herself some kind of positive body-image role model for young girls. As I’ve said before, I don’t have a hate-on for this girl, I just don’t care for her in general. But I’m starting to think she might want to hire a better publicist, or perhaps listen more carefully to the publicity team she’s got now (and I do think it’s a team keeping that massive head afloat). Because this girl does not come across well in print interviews. She often comes across as smug and entitled. Add a new adjective to the pyre, because in a new interview with E! Rumer is acting creepy and oblivious talking about nudity - her own and her step-father’s. Oh, God:
Will Rumer Willis engage in some same-sex smooching on 90210? It would totally make sense considering she’s making her debut on the upcoming season playing a lesbian student at West Beverly Hills high School.
“I don’t know yet,” Rumer, 21, tells me. “I’ve only done two episodes, and we’re just kind of seeing how she fits in with the storyline and how she fits in with the group.”
Just three days after 90210’s season premiere next week, Rumer will also be seen in Sorority Row, a horror flick about a group of college co-eds being terrorized by a tire-iron-wielding psycho killer (out Sept. 11).

“It was really cool,” she says. “I was only shooting maybe quarter loads or half rounds, but they took me outside and I was like, ‘All right!’ It felt really badass.”

Rumer also wore a pair of glasses from her mom Demi Moore’s collection of vintage frames. “It’s funny because a couple of people have been like, ‘So, where did you get those hideous glasses?’ ” she says.
Moore, Rumer’s stepdad Ashton Kutcher, dad Bruce Willis and new supermodel stepmom Emma Heming are expected to be at Sorority Row’s Hollywood premiere on Thursday. While the flick is full of scantily clad gals, it’s nothing like what Rumer had to sit through at last month’s premiere of Spread, an indie flick featuring a very naked Kutcher getting it on many times with an even more naked Anne Heche.
“I was informed, but I was not prepared,” Rumer laughs. “I was just kind of like, ‘Wow.’ ”
That’s not to say we won’t see Rumer strip down one day for the cameras. “If it’s nudity just because they want you to get naked in a movie, then I’m kind of like, ‘You know what? No,’ ” she says. “But if it’s kind of pivotal, and it helps move the story along then yeah, sure I’ll do it.”
But not everyone in the family will be getting invites to that premiere.
“I can’t imagine being like, ‘Hey Dad, wanna come?’ ” Rumer says. “I’ll just have to wait for it to come out on DVD so I can fast forward through those scenes.”

My first reaction when I read this interview was “Oh my God, she said ‘wow’ to herself when she saw her step-dad naked! Disgusting and sketchy.” But once I read the whole thing over again - through my dry heaves - it was the last part that struck me as ridiculous. Rumer thinks that she could conceivably be asked to take off her clothes for an artsy-fartsy film, because her boobs would be “pivotal” to the story. Totally oblivious.

Can someone give me a hand with something? So many actresses say “I’d do nudity if it were pivotal to the plot” and whatever, but can someone give me examples of what kind of movie that’s been a “pivotal” necessity? I’m actually just curious, because I can’t think of any, other than Helen Hunt in “As Good As it Gets”. She wasn’t full frontal, but still. It’s always seemed to be a ploy to get viewers into the movie theatre, but I’d like to be proven wrong.

That’s a good question vale and offhand, I can’t think of a movie that nudity is actually ‘pivotal to the plot’. I guess it’s just one of those things starlets say like, ‘I pig out all the time and I don’t diet’.
Celebrities need to STFU, especially these new ones. They share way too much information and it just makes them look like idiots, which in this case, seems pretty accurate.

You know what i hate to defend the girl but i dont think she meant ‘wow’ as in ‘i think my step-dads body is hot’ rather i think she meant ‘wow’ as in ‘OMG i really was not prepared for that and wish i hadnt seen it’ kind of way… maybe i’m wrong but thats how i read it

I see a parallel. Tori - the ugly ducking of 90210 gets that role thanks to a parent. Rumer - the new ugly duckling of 90210 gets the role thanks to a parent.

I can’t believe I’m using this movie as a potentially valid example, but how about the nudity in Titanic? It was conveyed as art and symbolized Rose’s rebellion against social expectations (among other things, but I’m not about to write a thesis on it).
Arguably, Kate Winslet’s nudity was pivotal for the plot… It definitely initiated the wild goose chase for most of the rest of the movie. And maybe actually the entire movie, since that sketch is what prompted Rose to head to Titanic in the first place… You know what, I digress.

Maria86 - I was totally thinking of that! The nude drawing was very important to the plot of Titanic. Amongst other things it showed how much Rose trusted Jack, and that Jack respected her. Any ole dog would have put the moves on her, but he was respectful and professional. It spoke volumes about their relationship at that point.

I like Rumer and am grateful that - for whatever reason - it finally occurred to Hollywood that having different looking people act in their movies might improve them . . . Duh!!!
I find her to be very beautiful. And her personality makes her exceptionally attractive to me.

The more I see Rumer Willis, the more attractive I find her. I think that I need a celebrity gossip hiatus until I can regain my ability to mock the mockable.
That said, although Rumer seems to have an inflated sense of self-importance, I think she genuinely does want to act. It’s unfortunate that her parents are famous because she’ll never be taken seriously.
I know, I know, it opens doors for her. But Tori Spelling wrote about this in her memoir. It doesn’t matter how hard Rumer Willis (or Tori Spelling) works. Nobody is ever going to respect them as legitimate actresses.

One movie where being naked was “pivotal” was Nell with Jodie Foster. Because she was a wild child (literally..) and had never seen a naked man before and had to compare his body to hers. -

I’m with honeybee in thinking that the ‘wow’ meant “okay, I was told there was some nudity but I was not expecting that much naked.” I also think people’s negative opinion of her and their interpretation of how she comes across in interviews is skewed and a bit unfair. She’s already been judged and found wanting for trying to make it in Hollywood JUST because she’s the daughter of famous parents. The fact that she does not fit society’s current conception of beauty also seems to give people license to be nasty in their criticism of her looks. She can’t help her looks. Should she run out and get plastic surgery to make some people feel better? I feel the same way about people who harp on about Anna Paquin’s teeth. I mean geez, I like a good bitchy snarkfest as much as the next person but some days the collective venom that gets spewed out just makes me ill.

or,for silly comedies…where the naked adds to the humor of the scene…usually shots of someone’s behind,caught in a ‘pickle’ of some sort….
otherwise,the best films hint at the nudity but don’t show it. much more of a turn-on than the actual nudity. -

Nudity is never pivotal to the movie. LOL. This girl is a dumb parrot spouting cliches.
Classic movies got along just fine for decades without nudity. In fact, the old movies are far better than current movies.
You can have the suggestion of nudity without actual literal nudity. It is always sexier anyway. Actual nudity is a lazy and cheap device concocted by men.
Which begs the question: Why is male nudity never “pivotal” to the story?

In “The Break Up” the scene with Jen Annisten coming out naked in front of Vicne, it was a point for her to be naked to get his attention and shock him, and she seemed pretty naked but you still did not see any shots of her breast or other area.
I think movies can show nudity without having to actually show graaphic bady parts.
But guys want to see parts, boobs ect.. in movies. -

I understand the significance of the nude scene in titanic as some have pointed out. But Kate Winslet actually having to be nude for that scene was in no way pivotal to the plot. The same scene could have taken place with implied nudity. I do think it’s better with the actually nudity but the plot would progress with or without it being seen.

@shut her up: I’ve always wondered this myself!! Female nudity is always considered integral to the plot, but never male nudity! Good question!

having demi and bruce as parents is a blessing for her career because she can get “the hook up” for roles. having demi and bruce as parents is a curse as well because people will automatically presume that she hasnt worked to get her roles. IF she’s auditioned and taken acting classes to achieve her status then good for her. cant say i’ll be buying a ticket to see sorority row though :p
