Carrie Prejean’s gushing interview in Star: My boyfriend is amazing!

Decrowned former Miss California title holder Carrie Prejean, 22, has a new interview in Star Magazine in which she promotes her upcoming book, Still Standing. Carrie says that she’s not doing Celebrity Apprentice as has been rumored, and she also breaks one of the cardinal rules of dating – she goes on at length about how great her new boyfriend is and how cute their children will be. Carrie is dating quarterback Kyle Boller, 28, of the St. Louis Rams. Her comments about Boller are sure to make the guy hesitate a little, even if he is gung-ho about her. Guys are funny that way, especially athletes who are surrounded by teammates teasing the crap out of them for having clingy girlfriends.

Give us the scoop on Kyle
I could see myself marrying him. When I met him, I just felt like he was amazing. I knew he was perfect for me! We’ve talked about getting married. I think we’d have cute kids, and they’d be pretty athletic. But no pageant girls! He’s 28; I know I’m a lot younger, but I definiely know what I want.

Is it true you’re going to be on The Celebrity Apprentice – and how has your relationship with Donald Trump been since he fired you as Miss California?
I don’t think I would do Celebrity Apprentice right now – maybe later. But I do have respect for Donald Trump, and I know he was put in the middle of everything.

Tell us about your book, Still Standing.
It’s coming out in November, and I’m so excited! I want people to get to know the real me. I will talk all about my childhood – the way I was raised, why I said what I said. It’s about freedom of speech and not hating anyone. It’s not about me hating gay people – it’s not about that at all. I saw something in a story the other day that said, ‘gay-hating Carrie,’ and that’s disturbing . People can be so ignorant. How can I be called a gay hater if all I said was that I believe in traditional marriage. I’ll also talk about pageants and what has gone on since then. What’s nice is that now people know me simply as Carrie. Not Miss USA. I’m proud I can be me.”

Carrie has of course sued the Miss California pageant, citing defamation and religious discrimination in their firing of her. Many people have suggested that it’s a desperate ditch for attention after the controversy died down, and that she doesn’t have a legal leg to stand on. Miss Universe co-director Keith Lewis has since released more really obnoxious e-mails Carrie sent him, including an all-caps rant informing Lewis she would no longer work him in March, over a month before Prejean’s controversial answer at the Miss USA pageant in April:

The problems between Prejean and Miss California escalated to such a level that the 22-year-old severed all ties with her state team several weeks prior to the April 19 national pageant, according a March 9 e-mail exchange in which Prejean wrote (in all caps) to Miss California co-director Keith Lewis:

I WILL NOT BE VERBALLY AND EMOTIONALLY ABUSED ANYMORE BY ANY OF YOU. I HAVE A COMPETITION TO PREPARE FOR. I WILL NO LONGER BE DEALING WITH ANYONE WHO IS GOING TO BRING ME DOWN AT THIS POINT. I WILL ONLY SURROUND MYSELF WITH PEOPLE WHO MAKE ME HAPPY. AND RIGHT NOW, THAT IS NONE OF YOU. I WILL SEE YOU ALL IN APRIL. PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT ME AT ALL FROM THIS POINT FORWARD.

“Our differences began in January,” Lewis told Foxnews.com. “Carrie became a challenge. She wanted everyone to jump through hoops for her, but she wasn’t willing to cooperate. She is very good at receiving, but not at giving. We were very patient with Carrie, but she wasn’t following … her contract.”

Carrie’s lawsuit isn’t going anywhere, but at least she has that “amazing” boyfriend to fall back on. It looks like she also needs some good girlfriends to remind her not to gush to the press about him. No one is telling her to watch anything else she says to the press, though, and she often makes ridiculous statements that don’t do much for her cause.

Why would anyone even care about the early childhood of the “real Carrie”? Does she realize nobody likes her? I’d almost feel sorry for her if she wasn’t such a self righteous intolerant bigot.
And yeah, that’s a total jinx, saying all that in a magazine. If that guy has any sense, he’ll run like hell.

  2. Mandy says:

Her boyfriend has no neck, and he has the same dumb, empty expression I’ve seen on the face of every high school jock I’ve ever known.

It’s people like Carrie Prejean who make me wish we could still throw Christians to the lions (not all of them, just the sanctimonious ones). She needs to climb down off her cross and realize that she’s not a martyr, just a shit-for-brains beauty queen. She should keep her ignorant thoughts to herself and go twirl a baton. WTF does she know about persecution?

  3. Kaboom says:

Anyone who puts up with her crap would be bound to seem amazing to just about anyone, including her.

  4. mila says:

    she’s 22?! wow. I’d give her 6 years more!

  5. Mandy says:

BTW, sorry if I offended any Christians with that last comment, because I know most of you are great people. I was trying to be funny, but that sometimes doesn’t translate very well through a comment on a message board.

  6. boomchakaboom says:

Mandy: That was nice of you to clarify your “Christians to the lions” comment. I hate how the public face of Christianity somehow came to be composed of the most vile and un-Christian-like people on the planet. It’s very distasteful.

I love the guy’s comment about how Carrie is very good at receiving but not at giving. Classy!

  7. Praise St. Angie! says:

gotta agree with you Ophelia…who cares about her early childhood?

if she had overcome some great obstacles in her quest for success, maybe…but how hard could the life of a blond-haired blue-eyed beauty queen have been?

“when the other girls were jealous of me being voted prom-queen, I was devastated – it took all of my strength to wear that crown.”

  8. dirty martini says:

I think the immediate furor over her initial comments about traditional marriage were very unfair and hypocritical. Barrack Obama essentially answered the question the exact same way and got elected President! She answers how she did, and she is ridiculed beyond belief.

For the record: While I dont agree with her, I defend her right to have an opinion and say it.

Now having said all that: She’s handled it poorly and her reactions have added fuel to the fire.

But the truth is that the pageant officials and others arent exactly pristine in their own behavior either.

I think everyone involved should walk away from this mess and just move on with their lives.

  9. Cinderella says:

She’s got a face for TBN, but that’s about it.

  10. Tia says:

She is so pathetic. I mean I didn’t think anyone could more irritating than Sarah Palin or Elizabeth Hasselbeck and here you go… a complete idiotic moron. Go away already NOBODY cares about you and your bigotted Christian thoughts. It is sad that Christians are now in people’s heads as being creepy and shameful.. really sad

  11. boomchakaboom says:

@Tia: There are no such things as “bigoted Christian thoughts” – what you are reacting to are the actions of people who use Christianity as a shield to hide behind while clubbing others over the head with Bibles. Trust me, that is not a real Christian thing to do. I suspect it’s along the lines of all Muslims getting a bad rap because of terrorists who claim to be Muslim when their actions fly in the face of actual Muslim beliefs. Just a hunch.

  12. Praise St. Angie@ says:

boomchakaboom, I know this is a generalization, but re: being a “real” Christian.

I’ve found that the people who are most vocal about being “a Christian” have a most UN-Christian-like attitude toward others.

  13. Arvedia says:

That´s true, Praise St. Angie. I am a Christian myself, but I distrust all people who keep going on about their religion. Either live your values for all to see or just shut up.

  14. boomchakaboom says:

Praise St. Angie: Me too! They give love a bad name…(couldn’t resist).

  15. Kevin says:

Her boyfriend sure as hell ain’t an amazing quarterback. Everyone knows that. I wonder if she picks the splinters out of his ass after every game from riding the pine. What is with all the celebs hooking up with crappy football players..i.e Hank basket,,on the verge of being cut in Philly,,Tony Romo’s last year in Dallas if he doesn’t finally show something to Jerry Jones,,and this bench warmer.

  16. Ana says:

I too thought she was way older

    “People can be so ignorant.”

    That made me laugh.

  17. The Mayor says:

    “a self righteous intolerant bigot”

“wish we could still throw Christians to the lions”

“a complete idiotic moron. Go away already NOBODY cares about you and your bigotted Christian thoughts”

All that and more because she doesn’t believe in gay marriage?

You folks might want to go have a peek in the dictionary and look up the word *intolerant*.

  18. Hieronymus Grex says:

Who let that skanktress into the Kentucky Derby? Did they need another waitress to serve the drinks in the VIP box?

  19. Hieronymus Grex says:

You folks might want to go have a peek in the dictionary and look up the word *intolerant*.

Right after you look up the word IRONY, Mayor.

  20. Mandy says:

@The Mayor: It’s not just the gay marriage issue here. This girl is one of those people who feels the need to prefix every other sentence with phrases like, “Speaking as a Christian…,” as if it gives her some moral high ground, and qualifies her to tell the rest of us how to live and who to love.

Anyone who wants to deny gays of what should be basic civil rights has no business crying to the media and claiming she’s being persecuted. Yeah, I guess I am intolerant…of hypocrites like her!

  21. Mike says:

Carrie Prejean was heartless and rude toward the gay community. And now she expects to become a star because of it. Well that is not talent. She has her right to an opinion, but she took it way too far, and it was offensive. Star magazine sucks for printing this interview.

  22. RuffianSuz says:

First of all, 22? Seriously? Yikes. Secondly, who honestly gives a s**t?

  23. 4Real says:

I was hoping she’d just go away, but noooooo.

  24. spiceh says:

I’m a bit shocked that she’s only 22, looks more like 28. And she needs to STFU and go away as well.

  25. Lean Yawn says:

Nice blog. Thank you! surely i’ll be back here soon.
