Duchess Kate promises to give us an update on the ‘five big questions’ survey

Catherine Duchess of Cambridge attends a National Portrait Gallery workshop at the Evelina Children's Hospital

God, the Duchess of Cambridge’s “five big questions” thing happened THIS YEAR. It feels like that was five years ago, honestly. Well, that’s how long we had been hearing about Kate’s “big project” and how monumental it would be, and how this was her legacy work, the work which would change royal work forever. Then in January, she launched it and it was a poorly-conceived five-question survey with a vague promise that the survey would… inform Kate’s future work. Or something. The purpose, it was clear, was to give Kate a “big project,” to explain how she’s spent the past decade, and to get a momentary rush of good headlines and photo-ops. Kate had not mentioned the “five big questions” mess in months. And then Kensington Palace dropped this video this morning:

First of all, to the cameraperson (camerapeople) working for Kensington Palace these days: you are doing it wrong. Fast editing and speedy “zooming in” are not young and hip, it looks amateurish and cheap. KP has been using their own cameraperson for the past five videos they’ve done, because I guess they are not content with how they look on Zoom calls.

Second of all, yet another CopyKate moment where Kate is speaking on a couch, in front of framed photos and flowers. Just like the Duchess of Sussex has been doing for months. Can Kate stop Single-White-Female-ing Meghan for like two seconds? Third of all… that survey was so basic and poorly conceived, I have no idea how Kate’s people even put together anything substantive to show people. What are those “five big insights”? My guess is that will be a bunch of common-knowledge stuff like “diet and exercise influences early development” and “every child should be brought up like the Middletons!”

Over the weekend, KP also released this video about fatherhood and such. Again, the camerawork is distracting and bad…?!?!

    5 Big Insights?

    How about 5 Big Actions?

    • HeatherC says:

You won’t get two little actions from her.

    • Gruey says:

I cannot believe they seriously released a video promising to be keen to say more soon. Gooooood grief with these people.

      • Maevo says:

Everything about this “project” has been baffling.

      • mytwocents says:

That 30 second video will be counted as a day’s work. I can’t believe it took them one year to get the results from the 5 questions!

      • Sara says:

Yeah, and as things have gotten bad with Covid again in the UK, they’ll probably use that as an excuse again to not work on it.

      • Lemons says:

@mytwocents They won’t be the results from 5 questions. I’m sure researchers already have been thinking of 5 pillars of early childhood development and the pseudo-survey was created around that. Someone is working furiously to type the research up in a way that will be easy to understand and repeat on websites and social media accounts.

This is Kate’s Be Best campaign. So we’ll be getting more research. We’ll see if any action comes of this besides the occasional photo op.

      • Where'sMyTiara says:

In the US, when the Trump regime pulls crap like this, we just roll our eyes and say “welp, I guess it’s Infrastructure Week again”

    • Tom says:

Raise your hand if you studied how to write survey questions in Psych or Soc or Poli Sci class. A survey with five questions is not how you genuinely get valid responses.

This is simply rubber stamping Five Answers They Wanted to Obtain.

      • Midnight@theOasis says:

And you also don’t allow a survey designed for British citizens to be available to anyone in the world to take and submit responses. The survey data is seriously flawed unless they screened out the responses from non British citizens.

      • CC. says:

Psych student here. The 5 items were so poorly constructed that I’m pretty sure Kate wrote it herself, because no professional would design such a survey imo. My professors would dropkick me!

      • (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

I was a psych major in school, clinical and child development in particular. Those 5 questions would’ve had the Prof. asking me if I felt it was really the right field of study for me. Sorry…I STILL give her a FAIL on this cobbled “project”.

      • LittlePenguin says:

Or if you took an entry level Marketing course at any point in Uni. (or you know, are a marketing major and did Market Research set ups. Sigh)

      • Donna B. says:

So it’s kind of like taking someone else’s idea & claiming it as their own perhaps? Maybe they need some help with ideas to do something; idk.

    • Dalloway says:

100%! It’s going to be just more bland platitudes packaged as revolutionary insights. Meanwhile, we needed McDonald’s and Marcus Rashford to shame the government into providing school lunches during half-term and Christmas.

There will be no action, just meaningless words while the Cambridges continue share staff with Boris Johnson, who is doing the most to destroy the social safety net.

    • Coco says:

What if the insights are like ‘I really resent having to do this,’ and ‘my mother should not have forced her ambitions onto me because the constant pressure has made me lose any sense of self’ and ‘I should not use such a dark color on my eyebrows’ ?

  2. Seraphina says:

I am pretty good with accents and I do believe William and Kate have the same accent. Wow.
The first video is just so busy and looks like it’s geared towards kids. And the second, not sure why Kate is smiling and almost laughing like a school girl.

    • Digital Unicorn says:

Kate mirrors him, right down to his accent – she copies his mannerisms, its a bit creepy. She is always watching and takes her cues from him.

      • Noki says:

@Digital Unicorn…right? Even the hand thing she does when she is infront of someone asking questions to pretend she is interested, down to how he purses his lips.

      • Elizabeth Regina says:

Poor baby. It’s such an insecure middle class thing. Always being scared not to put a foot wrong or make a slip. No wonder she is so stressed.

    • (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

It is because she, herself, is a .void…a big, empty, void, waiting to take on the characteristics of those around her, like a chameleon. She has no personality, wants or desires of her own.

Gotta say though, from the screen settings on my laptop, when I first saw Keen Katie, the Kingmaker sitting there, in that open blazer, I thought she wasn’t wearing a shirt! Just an open blazer!! And my FIRST thought was, “WOW…maybe this girl DOES have a little hidden zing!” lolololol. Yeah… I shoulda known better! 😄

      • Alarmjaguar says:

It was definitely a scrolldown where I did a double take!

      • GuestwithCat says:

lol same effect here viewing it on a phone screen! I feel better knowing it’s not just me and my eyes possibly going bad.

Well she looks the best here that I’ve seen in ages. They don’t look too miserable to be sitting with each other in the other video. I wonder what corner they turned or if they’re stepping up their acting now. Whatever the case, it works. They look a bit more alive and engaged. Finally.

    • Mrs.Krabapple says:

When Kate doesn’t smile, her face sags. Like, a lot. So she needs to smile as much as possible during an event because she doesn’t know exactly when a picture may be taken.

      • Melissa says:

Same. I have two expressions: Euphoria vs. Cruella deVille, to the point if I’m not grinning like a moron people ask me what’s wrong.

        Age is a bitch.

  3. RoSco says:

My God, whoever made that first video needs to borrow some Adderall from Trump. I could not keep up with all the WhizBangClank of it.

    • Becks1 says:

It gave me a headache, moved too fast. It was like something I would have made in high school.

    • Suze says:

I used to work in video production, and that one made me cringe. The graphics, the super quick cuts between images, the zooming in and out – ugh.

      • Lemons says:

I’ve seen this style of editing more and more with the quick bite videos that are used on Instagram by organizations and content farms. Even then…they did too much with the graphics. We get it, you’re the cool, hip, digital royals!

I will say this: They have learned from their mistakes and will now cut and splice Kate’s footage to make her look more natural.

  4. MapleAngel says:

Her accent is as all-over-the-place as the camera edits!

  5. Tanguerita says:

They are so, so bad at this.

  6. Honora says:

She looks so much better here than I’ve seen her recently. Good hair color Finally and brows look more natural. Her brows aren’t making her face look weird any more. I can’t believe the number of women in my real life acquaintances who have fell for the brow tattoo thing and actively made themselves less attractive.
    I like her clothes too

    • Nic919 says:

I think her botox has faded a bit. Once she gets another touch up the evil eye brows will show up again. It’s not so much how she shapes them but the effects of a frozen face.

    • (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

If brows need “help” from tattooing, you should look into “micro-feathering”. It is tattooing, but it’s done in little strokes, like little lines of color imitating a single hair. Looks a LOT more natural than filled in sharpie brows.

      • Lady D says:

Are you talking the kind of tattoos you get with a needle and ink?

      • Emm says:

I have micro blading and it is a tattoo but it’s tiny little single strokes that look like hair and it’s amazing. You can get something called ombré or shading which uses a tool that is basically filling color in and not single strokes. You have to research and find the right person though because there are a lot of people who have no idea what they are doing out there doing it, but it can look great and not like a sharpie run across your forehead. Being a child of the 90s and plucking my brows to almost nothing, it is basically a miracle and everyday when I look in the mirror I don’t cringe at my pencil thin brows that I have to spend time filling in anymore.

      • Honora says:

Idk micro blading can go wrong too imo. But I also see people with the more solid kind of tattoo brows. I only notice when they’re bad of course, if microblading is a success the person will look nice and their brows won’t “pop.” I’m happy for those who had good microblading but I feel too many people are playing with it (or the cheaper permanent tattoos) and it’s like wasting money to look worse, I don’t get it.

  7. Bibi says:

5 big questions: We started a conversation? When?

    • paddingtonjr says:

Well, there has been conversation about how not to do this type of project, but that’s probably not what she meant 😉

  8. Becks1 says:

I’m sure the experts are waiting with bated breath for the 5 Big Insights.

This really just feels like Kate needed a project, and like they don’t know what to do with Kate so they’re doing this survey to try to figure out what kind of work Kate should be doing. At almost 10 years in, she should already be…..working.

  9. Maliksmama says:

Kate’s done something to her face.

I don’t understand why Willie and Kate are copying H&M. It’s so bizarre. I don’t understand why they just won’t be themselves.

I’m kinda sad for their kids too. They’re going to miss parts of their childhoods as they’re going to have to become working royals sooner than their parents planned. Too bad Willie and Kate didn’t factor in the consequences of H&M leaving before they executed their “Get Rid of Sussexes” plan.

    • Maevo says:

Her eyes definitely look a little tweaked.

    • HeatherC says:

That’s because only Meghan was supposed to leave. Harry was supposed to stay and resume being the worker under their umbrella to take credit for. They didn’t factor in that Harry would WANT to leave with Meghan or worse that it would be HIS idea!

      • kelleybelle says:

The Cambridges and the British media play a terrible end-game. They can’t see past the first goalpost. And all these years they wanted you to believe William was the smart one. I will never stop laughing.

    • GuestWho says:

They don’t have a “themselves” any more. They’ve spent their adulthood being blank slates that the conservatives can project themselves on – doing what is “expected” of royals by the old guard. They lost themselves a long, long time ago. All that is left is a what is projected onto them by the BM and the Tories. That’s why they resent the Sussexes, they are unapologetically who they are – which is why H&M make a positive impact and impression on people and charities they champion.

Sadly, their “Get Rid of Sussexes” plan was really just a get rid of Meghan plan – blindsided, as always, by Harry being a loyal and loving husband.

      • Lizzie says:

Yes, and I think this is where Harry is just like Phillip. Both are devoted to their wives. Certainly cannot say the same about Chuck or Bill.

      • Farfromreality says:

Phillip has been unfaithful to Petty Betty their whole marriage and he currently lives with his mistress.

      • Melissa says:

Seriously, we don’t want Harry to be anything like Phillip. Points I suppose for being loyal to the Crown because he damn sure wasn’t to his wife.

    • Beach Dreams says:

It’s like her jawline has changed and become sharper/more square. I wonder if she’s reaching that point in light cosmetic work where aspects of your face become permanently altered. Her weight loss could be a factor in that too.

      • Nic919 says:

I was noticing something off with the jawline as well. It looked different especially from a front facing angle. It could that she has so little body fat that the fillers look more obvious.

    • Mrs.Krabapple says:

There are other photos where Kate looks like an American “Real Housewife.” She needs to stop before she reaches Madonna level.

  10. The Duchess says:

What’s with all the manic zooming in and the camera slide changes? My eyes are stunned and not in a good way. Whoever’s doing their social media is doing a shocking job. The edits have been poorly done and Keen is just mumbling along to the script. How distasteful.

    • S808 says:

They have the Sussexes’ old social media guy funnily enough.

      • GuestWho says:

Which just goes to show that the SM/PR work is only as good as the subjects. Copying the furniture and clothing style is never going to cut it if the work doesn’t go into the projects.

    • February-Pisces says:

It’s a technique if you have fluffed you lines. It’s quite a long take to speak in one go so by breaking it up with edits means to can use several different takes to create the video. I imagine kate probably had to do a lot of takes to get it right as she’s not the best at public speaking.

  11. Maevo says:

I’m honestly shocked. I thought this would never come back after Catherine Quinn quit. Or maybe there would be some quiet press release someday that they brushed under the rug. Super curious to see how this goes!!!

  12. Tiffany says:

    Sure.

    Jan.

  13. S808 says:

Yes, thank you Meghan for the new setting inspo, your impact remains clear. What is she gonna show? The questions were so broad, vague, anyone could take the survey even though it’s supposed to focus on Britain and they never followed up with better questions so? Maybe a better survey?

    • GuestWho says:

I read that had 500,000 replies to the survey – but were they from the UK exclusively? From what I recall, as you said, anyone could answer. Were people able to respond multiple times? Even aside from the vague questions, the whole thing is just sloppy and disjointed.

      • Becks1 says:

Yup, anyone could respond from anywhere in the world, and you could take the survey multiple times.

      • Ginger says:

If anyone in the world could take it and take it multiple times then the results will not matter. They are SO bad at this.

  14. Summerlover says:

I’m looking at the sudden focus on POC for their videos! Also, very very H&Mesque for the second video.

The first video…hmm…seems like the sofa is very springy! That’s all I have to say. And oh, forgot about the obligatory black blazer and initialised necklace.

    • lanne says:

Poc are decor, just like the furniture. They make such lovely accent pieces, and look fantastic under the plow framed in pictures on the walls! (Just don’t invite any into the family. Cant have any of that exotic blood mingling with ours)

  15. Joy says:

It’s fascinating to me that she and her siblings that she was raised with and is still in close contact with have TOTALLY different accents.

    • RoyalBlue says:

I think she has had elocution lessons.

    • Nic919 says:

She didn’t sound like this until the engagement was more certain. There is a video of Kate speaking in the mid 00s at some fashion thing I believe and her accent is more like Pippa’s and not this super fake posh thing.

    • Digital Unicorn says:

As i said upthread she is mirroring William – from mannerisms to his way of speaking. Watch and listen to him and then her, it’s striking.

  16. souperkay says:

omg the first pic with the side eye of Kate is just *chef’s kiss* Kaiser!

  17. Chrissy (The Original) says:

I love the expression on the little girl’s face in the first photo. She sees right through the fake white duchess. LOL

    • Honora says:

I assumed it was a little girl and I never understood the side eye. But now I’m realizing the girl probably has dwArfism and may be a young teen or tween? And is side eye-ing Kate for acting like she’s a little girl (or for something else!)

    • Honora says:

I assumed it was a little girl and I never understood the side eye. But now I’m realizing the girl probably has dwArfism and may be a young teen or tween? And is side eye-ing Kate for acting like she’s a little girl (or for something else!)

    • Mrs.Krabapple says:

I don’t think that girl is very young, I agree with poster above that Kate is only TREATING her like she’s young, which is insulting to the girl.

And I’ve said it before, whenever Kate meets children, Kate is the only one smiling. Most of the children she meets do not engage with her or respond to her positively. But Kate insists on sticking with child-related projects because that’s what Stepford wives are supposed to be interested in.

  18. Sofia says:

They’re probably just going to go *insert percentage here* of Britons think *answer to the question*

  19. What’s eating you says:

Her 5 big questions was a fail because if it’s meant to be geared towards England then they probably should not have allowed anyone in the world to take the survey.

  20. Coco says:

Whoa, she did five and now is adding another five? Meaning she’s all the way up to ten?
    Don’t strain yourself, Duchess.

  21. Carmelita says:

Oh goody. I can finally sleep. The anticipation was just too much.

  22. Dalloway says:

The only thing this video was missing was a starwipe transition. Such shoddy camera work and editing.

  23. ABritGuest says:

It’s good she’s following up on the survey. but yeah this site had great ideas for how early years focus could have been applied especially during the first U.K. lockdown when kids were at home & people were working & home schooling & shame KP didn’t take that initiative. I’ve seen many comments on how the royals were pretty useless during this pandemic & that’s an example of a missed opportunity

  24. Nic919 says:

They were supposed to provide the answers to the survey in February or March and there was no reason for them not to do so, especially since Kate and William hid away after the Ireland tour. (Probably because Billy had covid from someone he wasn’t supposed to be with)

I could invent answers to those five questions that have more substance than the banalities they will come up with.

  25. Guest says:

Lmao. Its November. The yr is almost over. Taking a google survey would have gotten faster results.

  26. Digital Unicorn says:

They’ll tease us with this for the next few months and then quietly release the ‘results’ which will be nothing more than some vague points. I wonder how long the data clean up took, considering it was open to all and you could submit multiple responses – as such its not a data source i would trust.

  27. Amelie says:

So I watched the video and while some people may not like the fast edits and cuts, that’s pretty typical of videos I see on social media, especially on Instagram. I didn’t really notice how it was different from other videos I’ve seen? I also see these kinds of edits on Youtube as well. These are the kinds of things editors do to keep viewers engaged. But it is sometimes distracting. I like to watch Molly Burke who is a blind Youtuber and there was one video in particular that had so many fast edits between closeups and wider angles, the subscribers were complaining in the comments (Molly obviously doesn’t edit her videos so this was the fault of her video editor she hired).

As for the 5 Big Questions survey, I wondered why we weren’t getting any updates on that, it’s been what… 9 months since that? The execution was questionable and I don’t know what insights they could have taken from 5 generically worded questions. The developments of this “initiative” are sure to be very interesting. Also is it just me or has she looked pretty tired in her last few outings?

    • kelleybelle says:

No, not just you at all. She looks tired and jowly. They’re saying this is “just the beginning.” The beginning of what, exactly? Me thinks they’re only squawking about this survey because of all the questions being raised, such as “what ever became of this thing?” The funniest part of the whole thing to me was Cameltoe Meany saying it had been 8 years in the making. A blatant lie to cover up the fact that Kate has done next to nothing for the past 8 years.

      • Lorelei says:

I also wonder how much of their intended audience even ever sees these videos or really any coverage of Kate’s “work.” From what I’ve read here and on Twitter, most residents of the UK actually couldn’t care less about the royals and pay zero attention to them.

On top of that, only people who are on Twitter or Instagram *and* who follow KP closely will know what’s going on. I’m not sure about the UK, but in the US, the percentage of the population that is on Twitter is very low.

It seems to me that everyone who sees any of Kate’s projects are her stans and Americans like us who are obsessed with the BRF and follow it for gossipy reasons, lol. The British parents who would actually benefit from the results of this (if there even are any concrete results, which I doubt) are likely at work and watching KP’s Twitter/IG feeds is the last thing on their minds. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

    • Nic919 says:

This is a make work project as with everything else she does. There is no meaning or value except to make it look like she’s doing something.

  28. tee says:

the video is like she’s promoting a highly anticipated tv special for a network or something and not just announcing the “results” from a nearly year-old survey. she has a lovely voice tho, even if the accent is wonky.

also, today’s post seems extra heavy on the snark lol

  29. Mignionette says:

    Embarrassing as f*ck.

  30. sunny says:

Truly she is terrible at working. Both lazy and incompetent. But honestly the bigger thing for me is that her team is terrible at their jobs! This is not a smart way to build and launch a project or program. How embarrassing. I really wonder how the royals recruit, hire, onboard, and manage staff.

  31. lanne says:

I’ll bet her conclusions will be along the lines of pippas: “ice should be used to cool your drinks!”. Let’s see: parents should feed their children 3 nutritious meals every day! Parents should make sure to wake their children in the morning. Don’t forget to change the diaper, or if potty trained, take the child to the toilet. The child might have a full bladder after a refreshing nights sleep. Select clothing for your children. I suggest pastels— so cute on children. Et cetera. To be pronounced brilliant and game changing by royal rota

    • RoyalBlue says:

      don’t forget:
time – take them to tennis and painting lessons (while you work a double shift to scrape by)
spend more time – homeschool and do fun activities (while you also work remotely, cook 3 square meals a day, clean and fold laundry while husband is away with the army for 3 months)
spend even more time – take them to the park and swing on a tree log (while you live in a high rise in the inner city)
family – important to have the support of family and friends (they live 50 miles away)
Food – better to feed healthy home made food (while we look up woking pizza takeout menu)

let’s see what she comes up with.

  32. Dee says:

Was there a demographic data sheet in this survey?

    • CC. says:

Nope. I did it a couple of times (went back again and again to look at the questions). I am from Asia and I easily completed it. I don’t recall any demographic section. I highly doubt 500k people took part.

  33. Gail says:

Sigh . Where do I start? One that accent of hers is getting faker by the day and she is developing a lisp with it . Two. Kate please don’t talk about family and the impact because you lost your chance with your sister in law and her new born baby . Your research and care would have really been helpful there. Third please stop using black children for your pr stunts and photo ops. My people have been through enough thank you. And fourth, stop looking in the camera while you are sitting with your rose bush trimmer . Just take your money, retire to the country and enjoy it .Your top CEO days are never happening.

  34. Sarah says:

I’m guessing she took lessons from Pippa and now it’s KateTips for families – children benefit from playing with their parents….

  35. Florence says:

Over half a million responses? That’s utterly pathetic given the U.K. population size.

Also three of those were messages from me pointing out U.K. child poverty stats and the disgusting irony of a diamond-wearing posho heading up this kind of thing.

Also that picture of her staring wide-eyed at the kid with her mouth like that… freaky.

  36. Mignionette says:

$50,000 a year at Marlborough then another £20-30,000 a year on the tax payers dime at St Andrews (true cost of Univ education) + living costs for this sh*t.

Just ridiculous. Either leave this to the experts and support them or don’t bother wasting yet more foundation money.

One thing I have noticed about Bill and Katie is they’re so out of touch with normal people and that’s why they couldn’t comprehend why Meghan was so popular. They thought she was brash, glossy and Hollywood, but really like Diana she had the common touch that made her relatable.

Even her pain was relatable. It’s like watching Charles and Diana all over again, but this time the warring factions are the Wales children.

    #WarOfTheWalesPartDeux

  37. Lizzie says:

The whole idea that she is qualified to lecture everyone else about children is as insulting as it is absurd. How dare she presume to be the only one who has listened to the experts.
Generally everyone goes all in learning all they can with their first baby. What In the world makes Waity believe she is the only one? Oh, she is privileged and needs to explain what she found out from experts to the unwashed masses. Or it’s just made up work to be working and be filmed as much as possible. I mean she didn’t parade in the see thru skirt pulled up over her bra because she doesn’t want all eyes on her.

    • Florence says:

This is a woman who announced her labours and births via the press and presented her kids like they’re trophies to the world. When your pregnancies and children are each treated as BREAKING NEWS then you’re bound to believe you are the paragon of motherhood and can bestow your wisdom upon the plebs. They’ve inflated her sense of importance by each time acting like she’s the only woman to give birth ever.

Meghan proved that there was an option to opt out of that circus so I don’t believe any rubbish that Kate was forced into it by her role. She was happy to participate. She’s so thirsty she probably would have let the BBC into the room except for the fact she wanted to appear perfectly made up and blow dried.

  38. swirlmamad says:

Anyone catch that exasperated, annoyed look that flashed across Will’s face as soon as Kate started talking in the second video? Yeesh.

    • kelleybelle says:

Nah, I think he’s just bored.

    • Nic919 says:

That is what we call a micro expression. And it’s usually very indicative of what the person is really thinking. It’s not the first time he’s done this when she speaks. And often it isn’t just a micro expression but a full on macro embarrassment, e.g. during the Pakistan speech

    • Korra says:

I feel it less about her and more about him — he is so self-involved, he doesn’t bother to pay attention or feign consideration when it isn’t him speaking.

  39. Harper says:

“We’ve taken your input and combined it with even more public research.” Will Katie Keen try to claim the “even more public research” as her own results? Stay tuned.

  40. kelleybelle says:

Too “manic” and overdone as usual with the facial expressions.

  41. February-Pisces says:

I’m wondering about her hair colour, it seems to change everyday. In the pic with Willie she has blonde streaks at the front and the rest is flat lighter brown. In the other video her hair looks more brassy and just last week when she wore that clown shirt it looked completely dark. Is she using hair pieces or is her hairdresser visiting 3 times a week?

    • Nic919 says:

I think her current hair colour is darker, as it was for Remembrance Day. The lighter colour hair was probably filmed weeks ago and just released now. They do that pretty often to make it look like they work all the time instead of just short bursts with video spread out over time.

  42. Redgrl says:

    Only 500k answered the survey?
In an effort to be positive I do like the green suit but I wouldn’t wear that pink fuzzy sweater – yuk.

  43. Delphine says:

Are those cheekbones new? I don’t remember them being so prominent.

    • GM says:

It’s called having next to no body fat. She looks so much better when her face is fuller – like when she was pregnant.

  44. Likeyoucare says:

Maybe the government or private charity has a project for children benefit and kate will latch her survey to the project.

She is lazy, dumb and out of touch about poverty but by now maybe someone has take over this project to make it work.

Or at least trying to show it does work by providing a garden with lots of equipments for children to play and ask other charities using their own fund to provided such park in every places in uk.

  45. Mtec says:

Why does she always look like she’s in pain or trying to not burst into tears when she’s speaking

  46. LeftCoastal says:

Can you imagine if Meghan had done this project? By the time she had made her first announcement, she would have been unveiling a completed (actual) survey with an actionable plan with actual timetables and partnerships with people who have actual educational expertise. Too bad Catherine can’t copy Meghan’s work ethic.

  47. Julia K says:

Again, that accent just is just so unnatural. Compare her speech at the engagement interview. Quite normal sounding and understandable then. Now it is so clipped and high pitched and lacks fluency. I have to wonder if she talks like this at home and in private.

    • yinyang says:

It sounds like she needs to clear her throat or she’s losing her voice or something, not a nice voice.

  48. CrystalBall says:

Firstly, a video to announce a video??? No other senior royal does that – there is simply no need to announce yourself for yourself! Her PR team is padding her numbers with her survey video, trying desperately to make her seem relevant.

Secondly, the video is an absolute disaster. Her inability to sit still expressed by her constant jigging up and down throughout, the fast flashes of headlines that are unreadable at that speed and her new Boris Johnson style of exaggerated word emphasis and intonation make this clip an absolute joke.
We see a woman play-acting her way through what should have been a calm and professional appearance, using excessive dramatization to bring a false sense of excitement and misplaced urgency to a simple announcement.
It is like adorning an invitation to tea with the full drama of a news room story about a crisis in a war zone. Words can barely express how inappropriate and unbecoming this is.

  49. yinyang says:

You can see the subtle christmas theme dressing with the dark green jacket in the 5 questions video. On the Men’s Day video she’s theme dressing a mormon. My computer kept freezing as she talked but her face really contorts when she’s talking, her jaw juts out and it’s an unattractive look, I can see why she has a photographer there to take better selected pictures. And why is a women 38, not even 40 doing so much work on her face.

  50. 809Matriarch says:

This is sad. Just – Sad.

They both look so unnatural. The expressions and the body movements. Someone needs to take Kate and do like Lady Fermoy did – tie a rope around her arms and make her talk without all that spastic pointless hand arm shaking. Even when the camera is not on her arms and hands, you can see her body jerking. It’s really distracting.

And those two images beneath the Future Men video – Kate’s face! It really looks like it’s melting. Scary.

    • CrystalBall says:

Absolutely – the manic jerking of her hands lends the entire clip an antsy and twitchy vibe. Very inappropriate, especially for someone promoting mental health. What does the duchess need that would help her calm down? Is her home life so stressful that she jerks continuously? Whatever is wrong, I hope she finds healing soon.

  51. Sunnyvale says:

Imagine if she releases a follow up questionnaire!! The women is void of any ambition or even foresight to see how much opportunities she has NOW with several celebrities fundraising for early years or school meals. She couldn’t even bother post about her patronages lately especially those ike on nursingweek who had anniversary months ago so we I’m not suprised she’s not bothering much. She would rather spend her time & money on superficial things like clothes and cosmetics
