Melania & Donald Trump will not show the Bidens even the barest of courtesies

Melania Trump Address at the 2020 Republican National Convention

Melania Trump will go down in history as one of the worst people to ever occupy the White House. She is boring, dull, stupid, classless, ignorant, racist, terrible and lazy. At no point in the past ten weeks has Melania even called Dr. Jill Biden, much less invite her to the White House to show her the East Wing offices and the WH residence. As FLOTUS historians note, this is the first time in modern history – at least a century – that the outgoing First Lady has not even bothered to CALL, much less meet with, the new First Lady. Even First Ladies who f–king hated each other still adhered to tradition, to history, to the barest of ceremonial duties. CNN had a piece about the history of this tradition between First Ladies – go here to read. CNN also had this piece about what exactly will happen on the 20th for the actual hand-over of the White House. For the first time in a century, the outgoing “First Family” will not greet the incoming First Family on January 20th.

No greeting at the White House: On the morning of January 20, Donald Trump and Melania Trump will depart the White House as President and first lady, but they will not invite their incoming counterparts, Joe and Jill Biden, inside before they do. The dissolving of one of America’s most enduring transfer-of-power rituals — the outgoing president welcoming the incoming president on the steps of the North Portico, and then riding with them to the United States Capitol — is just one of the snubs the Trumps are perpetrating as they leave Washington.

The Bidens will be greeted by the White House usher: Instead of a president and first lady, the Bidens will be greeted by the White House chief usher Timothy Harleth, according to a source familiar with the day’s events and planning. Harleth, a 2017 Trump hire from the Trump International Hotel in Washington, will likely not stay on in the Biden administration, the source said, noting the role of chief usher in all probability will be filled by someone more familiar with the incoming president and first lady.

The other ex-presidents will be there: The afternoon of Inauguration Day, then-President Biden will participate in a ceremonial wreath-laying at Arlington National Cemetery, joined by former Presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama. It is during these hours the bulk of the Bidens’ personal effects will be moved into the White House and unpacked, according to another source with knowledge of executive residence practices.

Deep-cleaning: By that time, all Trump paraphernalia will be gone, and a thorough top-to-bottom cleaning of the entire White House campus will have been completed. Deeper cleaning protocols were arranged via the White House with outside contractors, on top of regular cleaning done by staff, including specialized attention to rugs, carpets, curtains and surfaces, to tackle any possibility of lingering germs, of the Covid-19 sort or otherwise. “Moving furniture and vacuuming, cleaning baseboards, vacuuming drapes, wiping down shades, cleaning chandeliers, washing windows, high dusting,” are areas all covered during the traditional move-in of a new president and his family, according to the residence source. “That cleaning will start as soon as Donald Trump and Melania Trump depart.”

Melania slept alone in the White House presidential suite: A particular focus of this move will be paid to the bedrooms in the residence, where new mattresses and box springs for the incoming first family are standard operating procedure, according to the source. Yet one part of the bedroom set-up will be markedly different with the Bidens than it was for the Trumps: the Bidens will be sharing a bedroom. Melania Trump spent the majority of her time in the White House in the large bedroom suite typically reserved for Presidents and their spouse, adjacent to the West Sitting Hall, according to a source with knowledge of the arrangement. “Donald Trump slept in his own bedroom, which was previously a study or den during other administrations,” the source said of the arrangement.

Childish behavior: The Inauguration Day snub of the Biden’s comes on the heels of a series of broken norms and childish behavior that comes directly from the President of the United States, who has been vocal about his disinterest in preserving any semblance of decency towards the man who will succeed him. Trump, according to several sources, is even mulling whether to write a letter to Biden to leave for him in the Oval Office, a standard-bearing tradition.

The Trumps are such trash: Though the Bidens have a unique perspective having visited the White House numerous times throughout Joe Biden’s decades-long political career, the lack of politeness from the Trumps stings. “It’s abhorrent,” said another former White House official who worked in the Trump administration. Small measures of decorum during the transition are being practiced, however. CNN has learned of at least three Trump administration officials who used private communication channels to reach out to their Biden administration counterparts in the last month, despite the President not conceding his loss.

Trump’s final hours: On Sunday, invitations were issued to Trump’s circle asking them to please attend — and bring up to five guests — his and Melania Trump’s going-away celebration at Joint Base Andrews, prior to boarding Air Force One early Wednesday morning for their last trip on the storied aircraft, which will deposit them in Florida. Trump has told staff he wants his tarmac send-off to include all the pomp and circumstance he feels he deserves, including a 21-Gun Salute, red carpet and military Color Guard. On Monday afternoon, an administration official told CNN the bells and whistles might all be for a very big audience of one — the President — and a small audience of others: “So far, there haven’t been a lot of RSVPs.”

[From CNN]

It would be the final screw-you on Inauguration Day if Trump threw himself a lil’ Nazi military parade and no one showed up. But I still hate the idea of Tin-Pot Dictator Bone Spurs ordering the military to honor him one last time. Ugh. This CNN piece also noted that while Mike Pence called Kamala Harris roughly nine weeks after she and Joe Biden won the election, Mother Pence has not called Doug Emhoff. I could say something very rude here but I won’t. I’m just happy to see these garbage people being thrown out.

Melania also thought that people would care about her farewell speech. Idiot.

Oh Dr Jill will find her way around…she’ll need to have the toilet changed though, wouldn’t want to pick up anything. And I don’t mean covid!

  2. LightPurple says:

Stupid, vain, rude, arrogant woman is doing herself no favors with her stupid, vain, rude, arrogant behavior.

    • Esmom says:

Agreed. But still the deplorables fawn over her. It’s truly a sickness, I’ve come to realize, embracing evil trash just to own the libs.

      • Wiglet Watcher says:

They’re owning themselves by ruining the nation they claim to love. The last 4 years should have an asterisk of having no true political leadership, but a corrupt reality star turned Russian puppet.

    • fishface says:

Having thought about this the past few days (given the reporting that Malaria and Cheeto were going to behave like this) I think it’s great they aren’t going to welcome the Bidens to the WH. Why give them any more air time? Why spoil the Bidens’ special moment with having to share the same oxygen as those two oxygen thieves? Why give them any opportunity to pretend they merited any cordiality from the Bidens? Like trash, they need to be dumped.

  3. Mignionette says:

The same woman who did a whole talk on decency and what an honour it is to serve doesn’t even have to common courtesy to show the new POTUS and FLOTUS into the WhiteHouse.

These two are a stain on the public office of president.

    • AnnaKist says:

Hear, hear. I saw her farewell speech on Aus TV a few hours ago. My god. She spoke as if she’d worked tirelessly for her community and a raft of worthy causes in the last 4 years. All I remember was her spouting off her plans to deal with bullying, amd then… nothing. No more was said about whoat she was doing.
The consolation, I think is this: Yes, they are rude, angry, lack manners and class, are lazy bludgers, and everything else, but they are suffering deeply with the loss of power. Of course, [they need to show the world a brave face, but this public humiliation is eating them up inside And I like knowing that.

  4. minx says:

Check out Laura Benanti’s Melania dancing her goodbye in Times Square. Just was on Stephen Colbert’s show.

    • LittlePenguin says:

Yes! I saw this last night and it was all I could think of reading this.

The sad thing to me is that little bit of decorum trickles down to the rest of society. Just a bit of kindness and manners goes a long way. And sadly, Trump has shown people they can just be a$$holes and they get more attention.

    • Quincytoo says:

That skit last night was so funny and point on

  5. agnes says:

Aaaah. The trumps are bebesting like pros!

    • Mac says:

They are about to find out what happens when you are out. The military refused Trump’s request for pomp and circumstance and no one will show up to his goodbye Nazi rally because he is a nothingburger now.

  6. Sean says:

Eh, it’s not like Biden’s will be unfamiliar with the place and quite frankly it was expected the Trumps would be this petulant.

I don’t care as long as they GTFO!

  7. MagpieSassyPants says:

I saw on Twitter yesterday that someone had the idea to have all of the former Presidents and their wives greet them at the White House, stressing the importance of the Bush family being there, so it is bi-partisan. Jaime Harrison got tagged, he said it was a great idea and he will float it up.

    • Capepopsie says:

      Good idea! Much better too!
      🙂👌

    • lillyfromLilloet says:

      @Magpie
What an excellent show to the world and our country that would be! We need this!

    • TeaForTwo says:

Oh, love this idea so much! How can we help make it happen???

    • liz says:

If it wasn’t the middle of a pandemic, I’d think it was a brilliant idea.

    • Arpeggi says:

While it would look lovely, it’s not a sound idea while still in the middle of a pandemic. The Carters wouldn’t come; they’re too old to risk this, you don’t want the inauguration to be the reason why Rosalynn or Jimmy died, none of the others are exactly young either. A walk in Arlington with all the POTUS but Carter, being outside and able to distance, is probably the smartest move and it shows they thought about covid too

      • liz says:

The Carters aren’t coming to DC at all. President Carter is no longer able to travel, regardless of the pandemic.

    • Sojaschnitzel says:

Such a beautiful idea. Love it.

    • Izzy says:

I was about to comment that it would be great to have the Obamas greet them, but this is even better!

    • Case says:

This is a heartwarming idea. I’d love for past presidents to show the nation what true class and kindness looks like, and in the process make Trump look like even more of a loser.

    • lucy2 says:

I like this idea a lot. The Bushes, the Clintons, and the Obamas have all come together for various things before, and I assume will be attending the inauguration, so that would be nice. Honestly that would probably mean so much more to the Bidens then having the trumps pouting and complaining and being rude.
I agree the Carters should stay home for health reasons. Maybe they could facetime in!

Much as I loathe W and will not whitewash what he did, at least he has the ability to act like a decent person when called for, so I hope the ex POTUSes do more together and always make a point to exclude the orange menace.

  8. Who ARE these people? says:

It’s a blessing in disguise to be able to avoid the Trumps. Looks worse for the Trumps than for the Bidens and enables essential social distancing.

    • Esmom says:

Agreed although I fear what it does with Trump’s base is reinforce the stolen election narrative. I get why the break from norms would feel icky for the Bidens, who understand and appreciate history and the enormity of the position, but going through the motions of a normal transfer of power would also feel so disingenuous. This is a new era, clean slate, and its definitely best not to have the Trumps anywhere near the WH, even to say goodbye.

  9. ArtHistorian says:

This isn’t really a surprise – the Trumps are small-minded and uncouth people with zero sense of decorum. Trump refuses to acknowledge that he lost – he was never going to show the slightest courtesy to his successor.

I read an interview with Trump’s former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson in the publication Foreign Policy (made before the storming of the Capitol) and he said something that I think really illuminates what kind of person Trump is: Trump repeatedly disparaged the US’s traditional allies among democratic nations because he thinks they are weak. It is an interesting interview.

Tillerson said he didn’t know why Trump thinks so – but I suspect that this is because Trump admires autocrats who generally rely on a strongman persona and that is tied up with Trump’s toxic ideas of masculinity. He looks down of democratically elected leaders who actually respects and preserves democracy because he finds them weak – and he does that because he think that only tyrant dictators are strong because they often exhibit hyper-masculine traits of the toxic variety.

    • sunny says:

I don’t like Tillerson at all(thought he was a bad Sec State) but his assessment of Trump seems pretty on the money. It is fully wild how much he has heart eyes for authoritarians.

    • (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

Just like his toxic relationship with dear ol’ racist, xenophobic, tyranical daddy.

    • Amy Too says:

I read another article with Tillerson in which he really hammers home how absolutely stupid and inept Trump was. He said he wasn’t capable of just having a face to face conversation. Trump had to have pictures to look at and focus on. Or sometime Tillerson would just print out a piece of paper with 2 large bullet points on it (as in: *Syria *Iraq) so that Trump could look at it and “follow along” with the conversation. He said it took him months to figure out how best to deal with him and he was so frustrated at never being able to talk about all the things he needed to get through or to talk about anything in any kind of detail. He finally figured out the pictures idea and that helped, but seriously!? The president needed pictures to “focus his mind on” in order to even be able to hear what the SOS was saying. Not even understand it, necessarily, but just to be able to sit there and listen.

      • ArtHistorian says:

That was absolutely mind-blowing to read – he basically had to treat Trump like a young child to educate him about foreign policy matters! Completely nuts. I have read that Trump has always had an extremely short attention span – but this sounds like he’s actually cognitively impaired in some form.

      • Becks1 says:

OMG. that is incredibly disturbing and goes beyond a short attention span like ArtHistorian said – it sounds like there is an actual cognitive problem.

      • MyOpinion says:

@ Becks1 and everyone else, I agree with your comments but I don’t think that Agent Orange has a problem with keeping focused, I think that he truly does NOT care enough to listen!!! He has been able to stay on point about fraud, witch hunt, etc, but I think his lack of understanding is purely selfish reasons! I am certain that cue cards were necessary to explain the branches of government, but otherwise Agent Orange could care less!!
        Thirteen hours to go!!! Yes!!!

      • Golly Gee says:

In 2017, Angela Merkel was forced to explain the fundamentals of EU trade to Donald Trump 11 times after he repeatedly asked to do a deal directly with Germany. He asked her 10 times to do a trade deal directly with Germany, and 10 times she told him but no it had to be with the EU. The 11th time, it finally sank in.

    • MyOpinion says:

@ Arthistorian, is this the article that you guys are referring to: https://www.cnn.com/2021/01/15/politics/tillerson-foreign-policy-interview/index.html

      • ArtHistorian says:

No – It was an interview in Foreign Policy. It touched on more than Trump.

      • Amy Too says:

That was one of the articles I read. The one about having to use charts or pictures. I don’t know if this is the one that also talks about the 2 bullet points on a piece of paper or if that was another one. But yeah, he didn’t even understand why they were talking about certain places or things bc he had no working knowledge of recent or historical news in these places. And then other people would fill his brain with lies and conspiracy theories and then that’s all Trump would want to talk about with Tillerson—random lies about random countries and what we should do about them.

  10. Becks1 says:

I feel like Melania has been miserable for the past four years and it makes me smile to think of it. If that makes me a horrible person, so be it.

I would love for the former presidents to go back to the White House with the Bidens in a show of solidarity and class. It’s not about the Bidens needing a tour or needing guidance, its about being classy and gracious and the peaceful transfer of power. But we know that we cant expect even the bare minimum of any of that from the Trumps.

    • agnes says:

She is a proven horrible person herself: the birtherism, the “I don’t care, do U?”-Jacket, …
So wishing her some misery doesn’t make you horrible.

May I add, that not having to meet the trumps has a huge plus side: they can’t infect the Bidens with covid. I bet they are still spouting the virus like fountains.

    • windyriver says:

Obama, Bush and Clinton will all be photographed together with Biden at Arlington, paying their respects to people who have served their country. That’s a powerful statement itself, and the fact that T won’t be there says everything about what he and his administration have been about.

And once T gets used to the fact that he really isn’t President anymore, and his daily fix of the public spotlight is turned off, I bet that picture will burn him. Just like I’m sure Thomas Markle at this point regrets not having gone to Meghan and Harry’s wedding.

There’s really no words for how despicable that jacket was. I enjoy the thought that Melania’s penance is being married to that revolting man, and I don’t feel badly about that, because, her choice.

      • EllieK says:

I think the former presidents should take the Trumps’ place and welcome the Bidens to the White House instead. That would be rich.

  11. Miranda says:

The outfit in the header pic…very “She-Wolf of the SS,” and I’m sure that’s no accident. She is such trash. Auf Wiedersehen, Felicia.

  12. DebraSam says:

Not extending greetings toward the incoming president and first lady is also not recognizing their legitimacy – which continues the great big lie they are selling to their cult followers.

    • Esmom says:

Exactly. Its not just rude but dangerous and destructive.

    • Seraphina says:

Agreed. He is all about optics. Dangerous and classless.

    • Miumiiiu says:

I think that’s exactly why she is not doing it. Not that anything she’s done makes her seem gracious but this “choice” to me is not rooted in her being rude or ungracious or lazy. Her eye is on the prize. Now is not the time for her to stand up against her husband’s delusions. I think the Bidens will be fine without a tour, which would have probably been somewhat awkward. Jill Biden seems very nice but I don’t get the sense she’s an extrovert hungry for more social interactions, especially awkward ones (due to the fact Melania’s husband is a psycho who badly messed up the country and Melania knows that Jill knows that.) Biden was the VP before, has Jill never been there? Also, covid. The lack of tour doesn’t bother me at all, trumps pardons bother me much more. I just read that Biden will take action on the lobbyist problem, that’s amazing. Would love to see the presidential pardons gone too. Maybe some people should be pardoned but let’s make it easier for that to go through a court process and leave the presidents to their many other concerns and not give them extra powers that are so obviously a conflict of interest.

      • TeaForTwo says:

The Presidential pardon is baked into the Constitution. It’s not going anywhere.

      • Elizabeth says:

Being able to buy a presidential pardon is SO wrong. I understand why the pardon power itself is in place, but at this point, it’s been so abused by Trump, with no repercussions. Like everything else in government. That man should be in prison!

  13. Jay says:

    Keep being best, Melanie!

Honestly, well it would probably be better for democracy to have a peaceful transfer of power facilitated by the current president, I’m personally happy not to have to see his grimaces and the camera panning to their awful faces.

  14. grabbyhands says:

While it’s not like anyone really wants to see either of them after everything, it makes me angry that Biden and Harris are being robbed of the all of the ceremony and tradition. Biden at least had been through it more or less, but Kamala Harris has not and should have been able to enjoy every aspect.

If it were just subdued because of COVID, it would be a bummer but to know that the whole inauguration from top to bottom has been negatively altered due to one of the stupidest, most childish and spiteful people on the planet is maddening.

    • Poisonella says:

Hopefully, When she becomes President -we’ll be in a more peaceful place.

    • Becks1 says:

I’m mad as well that she is being robbed of that. Even over the past two weeks – the talk has been about how to keep them safe, how to keep DC safe etc (which it should be, considering the potential for violence) – but it means there is less talk of the importance of Harris being VP. This should be a shining moment for women in general, and for Black and Asian women in particular – and instead we’re all anxious over whether someone is going to try to kill her tomorrow.

    • Arpeggi says:

Harris will likely get to have her own “normal” inauguration at some point while Biden will very likely be a one-term president, and going through it as Veep is nothing like being the one sworn as POTUS… I’m not a huge Biden fan but I feel sad for him that he never got to celebrate those big wins. He was sworn in as Senator by his kids’ hospital bed after having lost his wife and baby girl, he didn’t run in 2016 due to Beau’s death and now this: it must suck!

      • Who ARE these people? says:

Testament to his dedication to public service…and yeah, he was robbed. Wishing him all kinds of strength.

    • lucy2 says:

I’ve been kind of sad about that too. Between Covid and the treasonous traitors, it’s going to be an odd and subdued one for sure. Even though I’m worried about security, I’m glad they’re going to do it on the steps of the Capitol, and not some room somewhere, but the whole thing is just not as joyous as it should be.

Luckily both people being sworn in realize it’s not about them, and have the best interest of the country at heart. A welcome change from the past few years.

  15. Arpeggi says:

I mean there’s a pandemic and the WH has hosted one superspreader event after another so maybe it’s not totally out of bad faith that there’s no tea invitation or anything? If my mom hasn’t seen my new place yet because we’re not supposed to host guest, why would a pro-science POTUS want to hang out with ppl that have disregarded every basic hygiene measures? A fruit basket will do. If the Bidens have questions, they can always call the Obamas

As for 45 not writing a letter, that’s petty AF… But it’s another proof he’s illiterate and simply can’t write a full paragraph

    • Esmom says:

I mean, what could Trump possibly say in a letter that’s meant to impart some wisdom and show support and solidarity? He’s learned nothing and is incapable of even the barest hint of decency and perspective this requires.

      • Darla says:

He could pull down his pants, fart at the blank paper, and whatever appears would make more sense than anything he wrote.

      • Arpeggi says:

That too. The most coherent sentence he ever said that wasn’t filled with hatred and racism was “person, woman, man, camera, TV”. There’s absolutely nothing he could write that would be worth reading.

      • Lady D says:

Geez Darla, I don’t know whether to laugh or gag:)

  16. Lizzie says:

I hope the mainstream media boycott the ‘big send off’ at Andrews. Keep all attention on Joe and Jill all day.

    • Edna says:

The mainstream media is too addicted to Trump and his drama. They’re no better than tabloids at this point in their reporting. The focus should be totally on Biden and Harris, but gotta get those ratings.

      • MyOpinion says:

@ Lizzie and @ Edna, I agree completely! He should only be shown with his Agent Orange a$$ leaving, nothing more!
Though love the idea of former Presidents acting as hosts!!

    • laura-j says:

I hope they show it, IF no one comes. Then I’d love to see it!

  17. Seraphina says:

It would be great to have the last few Presidents and First Ladies greet the Biden and his wife. This family, no matter how dirty, continues to show how classless they are.

  18. Poisonella says:

You can put lipstick on a pig – but it is still a pig. I’m sure the Bidens don’t care if anyone greets them at the WH- as long as it’s not these two idiots.

    • agnes says:

      Ah, now.

Pigs are highly intelligent and social animals. Also, they are adorable. The complete opposite of those two.

      Do not degrade pigs. *pleaseandthankyouverymuch*

  19. Esmeralda says:

The Trumps have broken many traditions – they can break this last one, and nobody will care as long as it is in fact the last.
But it’s funny to read that Melania got the actual Presidential bedroom and Don was exiled to the den…

  20. Diana says:

Anyone else surprised that Trump gave Melania the larger bedroom?????? Good riddance

    • agnes says:

I am surprised, that she stayed in the White House at all.

    • HoofRat says:

He probably wanted a room where he didn’t have to reach his little hands too far to reach his Diet Cokes.

    • Digital Unicorn says:

It was probably part of the negotiations to get her to the WH in the first place – she gets the Presidential bedroom and he gets the spare room (in the case a study converted into a bedroom).

  21. Nikki* says:

One of the first things we teach Little Leaguers is to be gracious winning OR losing. All the kids used to go round in 2 circles to shake hands after each game. Evidently no one ever taught the Trumps BASIC COURTESY. The most childish, rude embarrassments to occupy the White House EVER. Good riddance.

  22. Courtney B says:

It seems they sent out that Andrews invite late with an rsvp of today. My hubby retired and his ceremony was on base. He needed to submit his final list of attendees way in advance for background checks. And one got denied because of a pot arrest years ago! They are strict and it’s only going to be more so for an event like this. Now granted they can expedite things for the POTUS (though I’d love in they slow rolled it to be petty AF and people got turned away) but still…. I just hope they don’t use the military as props to show how ‘loved’ he is. 🤮

  23. Michael L Kelly says:

The bright side is Biden will get to avoid talking or getting photographed with this waste of a human. He will have a much better time hanging out with the Obama’s and Bush family and everybody will be less tense with Trump gone. I cannot wait to see Biden unveil the official portrait of President Obama or have an actual press conference like a grown up

    • Capepopsie says:

      Yes! 👌
But won’t he have to do that for DT too? 🤭

      • Michael L Kelly says:

Biden may offer but I doubt Trump would even come back for it. After all, Trump did not do it for Obama. I think Trump should be denied any honorifics of a former President since he shit all over traditions unless it was about himself and his ego

      • lucy2 says:

I hope he doesn’t – may be determined by how the impeachment goes?

They could save a lot of money on the portrait and just throw a rotting pumpkin against the wall.

  24. FancyPants says:

LOL Melanie wouldn’t let him sleep in the Presidential bedroom.

  25. Rapunzel says:

The Trumps know courtesy as well as they know how to pronounce Yosemite. And Thighland.

  26. Tiffany says:

It is sad that President Carter won’t be there as this might be is last inauguration to be invited to. It is just something so special about about all living POTUS’ being together.

  27. Limerick says:

Serious question: Will the White House be swept for bugs? I do not put anything past the outgoing President or Putin and can just imagi9ne them spying on the WH.

    • Lizzie says:

And will they send him a bill for everything he swipes on his way out the door?

    • Arpeggi says:

I’m seriously relived to know that a new bed + mattress is ready and secured and 45 hasn’t had an opportunity to piss on it. But yeah, bugs too (though I’d hope they check regularly anyway, it’d be too easy to place something with the amount of ppl walking in and out of the WH)

    • Lightpurple says:

      Yes.

    • (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

The WH is swept for bugs daily, and scanned constantly.

    • Bess says:

I hope they check all of the computers for spyware, viruses, etc.

  28. B n A fn says:

“Be Best” darling and get the F out. Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, get out.

  29. Gab says:

    I did like her capes.

  30. Leah says:

She and her husband can just get the hell out IMO. Clean the mansion from top to bottom, sweep it for bugs and auntie Rona. Then after it’s been cleaned of every bug imaginable then have the Biden’s come. Also for security reasons they should replace everyone who was installed by Trump who work there, including the chief usher. A new day and a clean slate.

  31. Heat says:

I hope they also sweep for “bugs”. I wouldn’t put anything past those horrific people. And, pomp and pageantry aside, I’m sure the Biden’s are breathing a sigh of relief at not having to “fake it” with the Trumps. Being Best can be extremely exhausting, at times. LOL

  32. Mabs A'Mabbin says:

Please employ all the Roombas to simultaneously escort them out.

  33. Rocķy says:

I wonder if Trump will show up for future state events like Clinton and Bush do now

  34. Soni says:

I would rather be greeted by the usher than the Trumps. Good riddance!

  35. Lauren says:

The Trumps are so insecure and they couldn’t scream it any louder .

  36. Aimee says:

    Garbage people. That is all.

But thank god we’re one day away from the change we’ve all been waiting for! Happy thoughts everybody!

  37. My3cents says:

Hope all those brown nosed racist designers who were so proud to dress that horrible woman (looking at you D&G) will be persona non grata with current administration.

  38. Sandra says:

If the ultimate Queen of Petty, Nancy Reagan, was able to show courtesy to Barbara Bush, whom she reportedly disliked, this trick can at least call Dr. Jill.

  39. L4frimaire says:

The disrespect and contempt the Trumps have shown to the presidency, the nation and the Bidens makes them look incredibly small and an embarrassment to the United States internationally. They diminish themselves and leave with a stench of dishonor and shame around them. Trump could have shown just the barest courtesy to the Biden’s and the media would have lapped it up. They have given this vile man so many excuses over and over again, and call even the most mediocre and begrudging gesture from Trump as “presidential”. His and Melania’s behavior is so beneath the Presidency, from the very beginning when she wouldn’t move into the White House and her deliberate laziness, to his sole focus on using the office for his own benefit and to dismantle Obama’s legacy, fracture this country further with his white supremacist agenda, and ignore his Constitutional duty to the office. The fact is he wanted federal employees to swear a loyalty oath to him, not the country or the Constitution, but to him. The way he was so excited over seeing that filthy mob storm the Capitol, and how he refused to do any work after the election shows what a disgusting person he is. Glad to see the back of this proto fascist and hope he and his ragtag family are fully prosecuted and imprisoned.

  40. Juniper says:

Never mind. It looks like what I was replying to was deleted. Good.

  41. Reece says:

Paraphrasing what one of my favorite podcasters said on twitter. The Bidens have already spent twice as much time in the White House as those two pos’s, they’ll be fine.

I only care about them gtfo!

  42. Amando says:

They have no class so no surprise there, but I doubt if the Biden’s or any of the ex presidents are upset by the Trumps not being there. It’s better all around. Who knows what crazy stunt Trump would pull. Thankfully Biden is already familiar with the White House and doesn’t need them.

  43. Em says:

These two are the most crass, morally bankrupt, uneducated morons and to even put a video like this out there is pretty ballsy. I can’t begin to understand the lengths to which their supporters continue to blindly praise them considering how disrespectful they have been. Just downright classless. Good riddance.

  44. Juxtapoze says:

I never want to hear the “but BOTH sides are bad” BS again! The Trumps can’t even scrape together a modicum of decency or class. They’re like people who can’t even be bothered to say hi or wave if you say hello first. Bare minimum decency escapes these entitled a-holes.

  45. Juniper says:

I don’t want to hear about the “intolerant left” ever again. At least I know how to be polite to my racist cousin during Thanksgiving, and this is the Presidential version of it. No. Class.

  46. Sparky says:

If I needed advice from a former FLOTUS I’d ask Michelle Obama over Melania Trump every time. MO has only been out of the loop for 4 years so she should be well informed about most things.

And the latest Trump snub has been noted: The outgoing president typically sends a government airplane for the president elect to fly into DC for the inauguration. Trump refused even though there was a 757 just sitting around adjacent to where Biden’s private plane landed. (And the flight from Delaware is really short!!)

  47. Christine says:

I want to be very clear, I have zero respect or admiration for the Trumps, BUT, I do appreciate how they are all so narcissistic, and leave absolutely no question about their character. A smarter man would have started sucking up, and gathering supporters, but not 45. I do wonder when it will occur to him that he has only the crazies left in his corner. Probably when he is tied to a spit and one of them is making dipping sauces.

  48. JRenee says:

Like school on Saturdays, no class!
