A judge doesn't know your kids. I don't know your kids. YOU as the parents know your kids. It's usually much more cost efficient to have a trained child expert slash mediator on the scene to deal with parenting issues than have lawyers hash it out at a much higher billable hour (times two) fighting in court. The parenting coordinator I usually recommend is also $150.00 per hour which is quite reasonable depending on the level of experience and education. They're not just 'babysitters'. Anything that can help to alleviate the acrimonious nature of litigation should be encouraged, not be met with eye rolling.
