Brad Pitt was announced as an Oscar presenter this week. He’ll be on hand at the Oscars on April 25th to present one of the major categories, probably Best Supporting Actress, since he’s the reigning Best Supporting Actor. God, the 2020 Oscars seem like such a distant memory. Remember Bong Joon Ho’s Oscar sweep? That was just fourteen months ago. Anyway, since Brad is going to be on-camera at an actual awards show, he decided to get some dental work. He was photographed leaving a Beverly Hills medical center in a wheelchair:

Page Six doesn’t have any details beyond the assumption that everyone who has any kind of procedure – likely involving painkillers – will need to leave via wheelchair, because of liability issues. No one knows what Brad actually had done. I’m clueless as well – a dental procedure which would involve anesthesia to the point where someone would have to leave in a wheelchair? I guess it could be his wisdom teeth, but who knows.

Gum surgery. I’ve had it and they put me under. Maybe having gums extended.
They do that? Is it for receding gums? Sounds super-painful…
I had a tooth pulled and an implant started under sedation and they wheeled me out in a chair even though I felt like I could walk OK.
Seems nuts to need a wheelchair for just one extraction/implant (I too used a general, rather than a local), you’re out such a short time that I felt fine when it was time to leave. I was a total mess though when I got all four wisdom teeth out and definitely had to be wheeled out, lol!
People are frequently quite loopy after being put under for wisdom teeth removal. It’s probably just a precaution.
Yeah, I was loopy after mine as an older teen. At first I cried bc I couldn’t have my teeth back. Then I remember contemplating crawling across a parking lot for no good reason other than I was afraid to walk and wanted to see my mom who had gone inside the chinese restaurant to buy me soup. I became too afraid of that idea bc I thought she might think she lost me. So instead I decided to lean over sideways passed out, with my mouth gaping open, bc I was afraid I’d choke to death if I leaned back. Must have been a great sight to anyone walking by, but she was only gone a few minutes thank goodness!
There was a viral video a few years ago of a wee boy who’d had a dental anaesthetic being driven home after, totally spaced out and talking all sorts of nonsense!
Oooh I would love to see ASL represented at the Academy awards in that manner
I had one of my wisdom teeth pulled, they did this and encouraged someone to be in the waiting room to give me a ride home.
For what it is worth, they gave me the good stuff because I felt nothing hours afterwards.
ROTFL it’s a plastic surgeons anesthesiologist. Okay wisdom tooth, gum surgery. Pitt is notorious for privacy. But equally notorious imho for manipulating the media and lying. Do I think he would have been seen if he didn’t want to? I find it seriously sad.

When I had my wisdom tooth removed, my dentist insisted that I be driven home (even though I lived within walking distance of his office) and required me to be wheeled out to my friend’s car.
I felt perfectly fine and the whole drama was embarrassing.
When my husband got his wisdom teeth out they brought him out in a wheelchair. He was still suuuper drugged up and didn’t remember the car ride home at all.
Idk why. My teenagers all got four teeth removed at one time and not be brought them out in a wheelchair. My God!
I’m so confused!! Do you use anesthesia as in in putting someone to sleep for teeth (pulling out teeth, root canals and such)???
In my country (and you don’t feel a thing) is just local anesthesia, they inject the anesthesia in your gums, you don’t feel a thing and you see what the doctor is doing…
Only if you’re doing a heavy surgery that demands changing your mouth bone sttucture… General anesthesia is quite risky in terms of health…
No, you would not get general anaesthesia for having a tooth pulled or a root canal. You would only get general anaesthesia if the procedure involved a lot of cutting (severely impacted wisdom teeth, teeth that for structural or other reason cannot be pulled normally, etc).
Anaesthesia can affect balance. If he falls or trips and hits his head leading to serious damage, they’ll (their insurer) be paying him compensation for life. Probably required by insurance and compliance department.
Any major implant work is gonna be intense you’ll leave in a wheelchair if he elected to be put under.
Honestly Brad is a 57 year old rich man do u honestly think he still has his wisdom teeth? Honestly his teeth seem taken care of so he may have gotten those pulled years ago!
