If the Sussexes attend the Jubilee, it will be a ‘fresh headache’ for the Windsors

From left, Queen Elizabeth II, Meghan Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry Duke of Sussex, Prince William Duke of Cambridge and Katherine Duchess of Cambridge watch the RAF 100th anniversary flypast from the balcony of Buckingham Palace, London, Tuesday 10th J

We heard last week that Buckingham Palace will do the most for Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee next year. Liz will be celebrating 70 years on the throne, and in the UK, it will be a four-day “bank holiday,” with tons of parades, festivals, tea parties and, one would assume, millions of buttons, hats and jewels. Page Six’s royal sources made a point of saying that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are “absolutely” going to be invited and that the Queen would not “ice out” Harry and his family because it’s a “family event.” There was also the suggestion that the Queen and the rest of the Windsor klan would suddenly be quite eager to see the Sussex children next year. I pointed out that the royal press are going to use the 2022 Jubilee as the next big date, the next big thing and they’ll try to hold the Jubilee over Harry & Meghan’s heads. As in, “if you don’t behave, you won’t be invited” and “Harry’s new interview threatens his chance at coming back for the Jubilee!” It’s pretty dumb and predictable at this point. Speaking of:

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle want to be at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in what would create a “fresh headache” for the Royal Family following the couple’s controversial interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The Duke of Sussex wants to be included in next year’s four-day bonanza for the Queen, with plans being released by Buckingham Palace. The Palace confirmed that Brits will be given a four-day Bank Holiday weekend so they can celebrate the Queen’s 70th year on the throne next June. And it seems Harry, 36, wants to be in attendance to celebrate the momentous occasion with his grandmother.

Harry and Meghan, 39, have officially stepped down as working royals and been stripped of their royal patronages and military titles. However, they have indicated they want to return for family occasions. But that leaves organisers with an enormous headache as they try to work out what to do with the couple during the party.

An insider said: “Harry wants to be there. It is already causing a headache and is going to be very awkward. Where will they be positioned if they turn up? What events can they attend? Will we put them on the Buckingham Palace balcony for the flypast? This is a celebration for the Queen’s 70 years of service to the nation and should not be overshadowed. There are now so many questions about what to do with Harry and Meghan.”

[From The Sun]

The Windsors: This is a family event, we would be so pleased if Harry, Meghan and their kids could join us next year.

The Sussexes: Okay, we’ll think about it once the date is closer.

The Windsors: OMG, this is going to be such a catastrophe, how dare they think they can just come back and be welcomed on the balcony like they’re regular old royals, this is the biggest scheduling issue we’ve ever dealt with, it’s a living nightmare, what are we going to do?!?!

That’s basically it. They’re going to milk this whole “are Harry & Meghan coming back next year for the Jubilee” thing for the next year. The Jubilee is the new Diana Statue Unveiling which was the new One Year Review which was the new Harry Needs To Come Home And Leave Meghan In California.

    That picture!

    • L84Tea says:

That picture speaks a thousand words. Between the petty 4-some icing out H&M, to Meg holding her head high and inwardly knowing she is free, and Harry just dumbfounded at how his wife is being treated right before his eyes. So much happening in one picture.

      • Yvette says:

@L84Tea … Exactly. It also lets us know who don’t want to be ‘overshadowed’ by Harry and Meghan. It isn’t the Queen. William and Cate are so threatened by the notion of Harry and Meghan stealing the slightest bit of their thunder simply by being who they are.

I watched an anti-Sussex YouTube blog (by someone who claims to have a Royal friend they worked with who gives inside scoops) where they came out and said that the senior Royals all voted to invite Harry and Meghan to next year’s festivities except for one William and Cate, who were out voted.

Evidently, William and Kate don’t want the Sussexes to attend next year because Harry will have Archie by the hand and Meghan will be holding the baby and they will steal all the attention. They especially don’t want them anywhere on the balcony. I find this fascinating, if true.

      • BothSidesNow says:

@ Yvette, of course those two don’t want Harry and Meghan there. Meghan does cartwheels over Keen and she knows it! Meghan is dynamic, empathetic and approachable, where as Keen is not. Keen has nothing to offer anyone, including her husband!

      • Aud says:

I honestly don’t think Kate even cares if they come. William is the one who doesn’t and she just has his back. William takes after his dad, he hates being overshadowed. That’s why he chose a bland wife who is pretty but won’t work too much or shine too brightly.

He was fine with Harry when he was the somewhat immature younger brother with a thing for trashy looking blondes. Then Harry grew up and married a charismatic, beautiful, and hard working woman. Now they’re a threat and he had to push them out. There were plenty of people suggesting that Harry would make a better king prior to all of this

    • The Recluse says:

That picture says it all. He’s concerned and furious and she’s putting a brave face on all of the foolishness being inflicted on them.

      • Nina says:

So true. What a bunch of inbred assholes. The hurt on his face is so palpable. You can see it in his eyes. His concern only for Meghan. And Meghan ever the classy lady, handles it. Not giving them the joy of seeing any reaction.

  2. Susan says:

Okay can I be the dark one today? Elizabeth is 95, and whatever ‘good health’ one is in at this age, planning for a year in advance can be dicey. (Heck,it’s dicey for me and I’m middle age). What would happen to all this planning if Liz were to fall ill/become unable to attend and participate/pass?

    • Sofia says:

They’d just turn it into a celebration of her reign

    • Lemons says:

Honestly, with the way she’s running this ship, or not, I don’t want to see another Jubilee or celebration of her reign. She and her staff can kick rocks if we’re just going to get more headlines like this for another year.

      • Alexandria says:

I’m very sorry you pay for this mess…and celebrating this mess.

      • BothSidesNow says:

I am in agreement with Alexandria. I can’t believe that your taxes have to pay for this enormous party.

As for Harry and Meghan, when it come to TQ, they will be there. Otherwise, once she is gone, I don’t think they will ever step foot on White Racist Salty Island again!

    • Amy T says:

      Spot-on, @Susan.

    • harperc says:

These things take time, I know, but maybe let’s not be that public about the plans until closer to the date? Stay noncommittal now (“We hope to celebrate HM’s long reign next year”) and give out details later?

My slightly morbid yet practical take on this is that SOMETHING is going to happen that weekend — either the Jubilee or Charles’ coronation — and the plans being made could be used for either.

    • AD says:

@ Susan, I am with you on that. Why wait. Who said it has to be the big 70th . Why can’t it be this year. I believe you give people their flowers while they are here. Tomorrow is not guaranteed to anyone let alone “Her Majesty”.

All this bruhaha for something that is going to happen a year from now. We will see.

  3. Becks1 says:

Why wouldn’t they be on the balcony? Have these people ever seen the BP balcony during one of these events? Its full to the brim of non working royals. I guess we better keep B&E away, and Peter and Zara, and Lady Louise, etc.

The fact that these people are more worried about what to do with Harry and Meghan than they are with Andrew says a lot.

Also, this story must have been pre-written, right? And they didn’t even bother to edit it, because it says the baby is due in the next few weeks.

ETA the story is from June 2, so the baby part makes sense.

    • BayTampaBay says:

“The fact that “these people” are more worried about what to do with Harry and Meghan than they are with Andrew says a lot.”

“these people” = Rancid Royal Rat Rota Reporters & Piers Morgan

I do not think that QEII and her minions have any problem with what to do about Harry & Meghan.

QEII and her minions KNOW the real problem is what to do with Andrew.

      • Becks1 says:

@Bay – oh I think the courtiers have no clue what to do with H&M. See: the last week.

    • L84Tea says:

I know, my first thought was ‘this isn’t rocket science’. Where do you put them? On the balcony with all the other family members? Because being in their family hasn’t changed despite title changes and Oprah interviews? These people are dense as heck.

    • Amy Bee says:

Becks: For the Diamond Jubilee celebrations, Charles decreed that only his family be on the balcony. It will be the same next year but instead of Harry being there George will be there instead.

      • Jais says:

So they want them to come and then not allow them to be on the balcony? Is that what they’re trying to set up?

      • Becks1 says:

@AmyBee I remember that but I was sort of assuming for the queen’s 70th jubilee at 96 years old the balcony would be more inclusive, esp bc I think a balcony with just charles Camilla Will Kate and the queen would probably send a bad message after all that’s happened, even with George.

      • Jegede says:

Yeah, Harry won’t be on the balcony.

In ALL Charles recent zoom calls, he has made that picture of only direct heirs – Lizzie, Charles, William, George – front & centre.🤔🤔🤔

The Windsors are very much sticking to the streamlined Monarchy narrative.

Andrew, Edward & Anne were sidelined at the Diamond Jubilee making way for only Charles and direct heirs.
I suspect George, as the new direct heir, will now Harry’s place.

      • Alexandria says:

Jais, I wouldn’t be surprised. Invite them to get the global coverage. The media would swarm in to see both of them. Then they would be snubbed openly during balcony moment in a desperate bid by these insane people to show dominance.

      • Amelie says:

So Louis and Charlotte will be excluded? That wouldn’t be a good look at all and would only start feelings of jealousy and rivalry among the siblings.

      • Shawna says:

        Poor George!

    • taris says:

meg needs to be pregnant again next year to get out of this shit. lol

keep those babies away from that cesspool!

      • chris says:

I believe she will . It will be an unexpected pregnancy.
As far as the balcony, if they go, they will be on it, because the press will push for it. They desperately want a picture of the Sussexes family. That will be they only chance to have a clear shot of the kids, that’s they can use for their papers, and biographies…. They need them. This is just a lot of blah blah blah cause if they are forbidden to be on the balcony, the world will only talk about that.

    • Tessa says:

George is only a child, I hope they don’t go there and put him on the balcony with his hair slicked back and dressed as an adult. Charles is odd instead of like any other grandpa have pictures of all his little grandchildren, instead he drags out that dynasty picture which only includes George. Pitiful.

      • Desert Lizard says:

Because all that matters to any of them is the monarchy and the line of succession. Charles has shown repeatedly that he has no care for Harry or his family. I wish Harry would not go but I know he loves his grandmother. It’s going to be nothing but painful for him with a few moments of joy if he gets time with her. Meghan will steel herself and be the wife that Harry needs but she will be miserable seeing his pain and reliving her own. I’m concerned for him, though. How many times can he survive this kind of heartbreak?

  4. Sofia says:

So much for “of course they’re invited”. It’s in a years time, a lot can happen in a year. I imagine the Sussexes will decide closer to the time as it’s been said here.

    • Myra says:

I don’t understand why they send the invite just for them to complain about the Sussexes later. If you don’t want someone there, just don’t invite them.

      • Desert Lizard says:

They want them there. They want to attempt to hurt and humiliate them on a world stage. They want the RR to criticize them and rip them to shreds like old times when H&M lived in England. They want them there to satisfy the RR and to keep them from going after Will. They have many reasons for wanting the Sussexes there and none of those reasons are good.

  5. MsIam says:

And yet if the Sussexes don’t come AND bring the kids, it will somehow be much, much, much worse! For the tabloids I mean, because think of all the money they would lose out on……..

  6. milliemollie says:

Okay, so no one is talking about the fact that TWO Lilibets would be in the country at the same time? Like how would anyone know which Lilibet celebrates her jubilee?!?!

Like why is there no discussion about it?

    • Chrissy (The Original) says:

Oh, it’s coming. It’s another frantic headline in the making by those Rota Rats. I say if HM want to go, to leave the kids at home with Doria, away from the lunacy.

      • milliemollie says:

I hope the British tabloids clear that up . How is anyone supposed to know if the baby or the old lady is celebrating her jubilee???
Now that’s a story for their investigative journalism!

    • Over it says:

      Dying of laughter

      • Me too OVER IT. 🤣. KAISER nailed this whole made up drama in one. Whether the Sussexes attend or not doesn’t matter, as a year out the 🐀Rota has already started making it all about them. I’m glad both Harry and Meghan just go on living their lives and making personal decisions that are best for them because no matter what they do or don’t do, the 🐀Rota will spin it.

    • Chica says:

it’s also happening during Lilibet’s first birthday. I hope they don’t go, honestly. It’s bad for the Sussexes messaging.

  7. Eurydice says:

Lol, this is like a fan fiction war – people coming to blows over what their favorite characters will or won’t do.

    • Katherine says:

That’s exactly what it is. I’ve thought about it when Harry described this kind of trapped closed loop situation with the media. He didn’t use the words “fanfic” but it’s clear the media needs a narrative and roles to be played in order to perpetuate an interesting and sellable story. And the RF needs to play ball in order to keep coverage going. And we end up in this situation where they’re just perpetuating fiction like it’s a show or fanfic. It’s not? These are real people who sometimes don’t fulfill the role scripted for them. Either they’re boring despite a lot of initial promise (Cambridge’s) or they don’t stick around to be the narrative punching bag (sussexes). Like the media just turns to random throw out stories and see what sticks in this bizarre like… show they’ve created. Whatever it is it’s not just good faith coverage of a public family.

      • Cherie says:

these are tabloids, they don’t have “good faith coverage” of anyone. They are giving their audience (us) EXACTLY what they want. I agree with perpetuating fiction and playing into the fanfic because that’s the market.

      • Eurydice says:

Exactly, it would be boring for the RF to welcome H&M to the Jubilee, so now let’s make it a headache. And what does “insider” even mean? The intimation is “inside the palace,’ but it could just as easily mean the little voice talking inside the writer’s head.

People think because something’s printed in words on paper it must be true, but libraries are full of novels.

    • Jegede says:

Yup it’s starting to read like a Marvel picture.

Thing after all this, I fully expect Harry to be there, with bells on.
Happily chumming up with all of them.
From Kate, to Edward, to Arthur.

The Lillibet ‘scandal’, bullying investigation, backstabbing courtiers notwithstanding.😄😄

  8. PEARL GREY says:

They would be lucky to have Harry and Meghan attend the jubilee festivities, let alone with the children. The events will be a desperate show of forced family unity for the Windsor kkklan, all-is-well for the Cambridge marriage and “will he show, won’t he show” for Andrew. They need the Sussexes to go to provide a blanket of cover for all their mess, so the rota can get their big pay off writing months of humiliation literotica for their racist, royal succession obsessed readers to get off on, who are dying to see how the “real regal ones” will publicly “demote” Harry and Meghan next. Whatever they decide, the rota has been starving for a year and will seize the opportunity to turn anything they do into a scandal, so I hope they do whatever they want to.

    • Cecilia says:

Whether the sussexes show or not, it would overshadow the whole thing regardless. So i truly couldn’t care less. As long as they leave the kids with grandma doria in California

      • Oh says:

Lili’s birthday is on June 4th, do they want to miss their daughter’s first birthday for that old woman?

      • Lady D says:

I don’t think a first birthday is a good excuse for skipping a celebration for a 95yo woman and the matriarch of the family. They can have the birthday celebration a day or week later, I assure you the babe won’t mind. I think I’d be upset if a family member claimed a child’s first birthday is more important than their great-grandma’s. There’s also the generations photos that you would probably want your baby to be part of. (in normal families)

      • Desert Lizard says:

I doubt they will take the children unless the Queen specifically asks them to do so. If I were them, I wouldn’t take my children anywhere near those hateful people or the RR. I would leave them home with Doria and stay only as long as I had to.

  9. Cessily says:

They are the ones fabricating the issue and fanning the flames of hate, it is ridiculous. Plus at 95 they are making their beloved Queens life one scandal after another.. how is that respectful? If the event happens it should be the Queens choice no one else’s especially since upsetting a senile old Queen who can’t hear seems cruel..
It all is just another way to drag H&M through the racist rags for a year, PH will make the decision for his family based on safety and security issues. Their children will never be the dancing poodles that other Royal kids have been forced to be.

    • harperc says:

Yep, the British media are the ones pouring gasoline on, lighting the match, and fanning the flames of this “headache”.

If they were so concerned about the effects of the Sussexes on The Queen, they could, I don’t know, ignore the Sussexes altogether? If the media doesn’t mention them, then they aren’t an issue, right? I mean, it’s working great for Andrew, why don’t they try it for H&M?

      • Eurydice says:

They’re not concerned about the Sussexes; they’re not concerned about The Queen, either. They would be happy if she died tomorrow so they could go into an orgy of grief – pages and pages and pages for weeks and weeks and weeks.

  10. LaraW” says:

Lol, as if the event planners won’t be bending over backwards to accommodate H&M’s presence, if only to appease the British Media monster starving for any tidbit, any photo, any glimpse of the couple.

The media may bellyache and manufacture drama, but they know it will be a huge payday if H&M come. In this case, the stories about H&M’s absence would not make up for the potential loss of revenue generated by H&M’s presence.

They won’t have the sense to dial the negative coverage back since I think they’re banking on H&M going to the Jubilee thing just out of respect for Gran-gran. But a lot can happen in a year. They’re really really testing Harry, especially with their attacks on his newborn daughter. Circumstances might become so horrible that it would be madness for H&M to leave their children behind in California to attend a four day cult march.

Beloved grandmother or not, maybe Harry will reach the point where he decides that the toll on his and Meghan’s mental health is simply not worth the public show of support of going to the UK, and he’ll decide honoring his grandmother privately, sprinkled in with a few public speeches released on television, is enough. Or maybe they’ll show up for one day— whichever one is most ceremonial— and then leave.

  11. Catherine says:

The fact that they announced plans for the jubilee and then immediately started speculating about the Sussexes shows just how desperate they are.

  12. keroppi says:

I just want to see how W & K interact! Him forgetting her and Harry’s reminder to his brother were a lasting highlight of the last one!

  13. Susan says:

I’ve said it before and I will say it again: Harry may choose to attend out of family/loyalty and regardless of what I would do, I understand his going. If I were MM, I’d be like OH HELL NO AM I EVER SETTING FOOT IN THAT COUNTRY AGAIN. Not to mention bringing my kiddos. NO WAY.

  14. Noki says:

They are FAMILY and always will be, its clear the press want to confuse as many people as possible. I have read one too many idiots who always have something to say about H &M being included in anything. They are still ROYALTY and still FAMILY. That can never change, the power the press have over people who refuse to logically think for themselves is astounding.

  15. aquarius64 says:

The queen may want the Sussexes but the rest not so much because the press coverage will be so heavy on the queen, Harry and Meghan.

  16. Ginger says:

I feel like Harry and Meghan will go (they both have spoken warmly of the Queen and have now named their daughter after her) I think after she passes, they are done with the ceremonial events.

I will support whatever they choose to do.

  17. Amy Bee says:

I think it’s too early to know if Harry and Meghan will be there. Harry hated most of these front facing events and I’m not sure he would be keen to have the Palace use him and his family as a props for the media. He got a reminder of how bad it was at his grandfather’s funeral and I’m not sure he’d want to do that and put his family through that.

    • Becks1 says:

I think if they go, it will be to attend a few select events and not a lot of the big public ones (like maybe they attend a garden party if there is one or the concert that i think is scheduled, but not any type of boat parade or whatever if they do that again.) I don’t think he would do anything that’s just about “waving to the peasants”.

    • Curious says:

I hope harry goes a few days before and greet the queen privately. cause if they want the Sussexes to stand on that balcony it will only be to humiliate them cause they are now none working royals, and they will have to stand behind Andrew. there will not be enough room on that balcony. with the queen, Charles /Camilla, William/ Catherine and children. Edward/Sophie and children ,Andrew and maybe his daughters ,then they will have to squeeze Harry/Meghan next to or behind Andrew . plus if Meghan goes as none working royals she will have to curtsy to everyone that ranks above her. to curtsy to William/Catherine that hurt them so badly ,i rather hope Meghan avoid these people for the rest of her life. and just meet the queen in private.

      • Tessa says:

The York Princesses don’t do royal work either. If Kate were a decent human being she would tell Meghan she does not have to curtsy.

  18. HeatherC says:

Remember when Kim Kardashian and Kanye West got married? Jay-Z and Beyonce decided to skip the wedding and go to the Hamptons instead with Beyonce posting a selfie of her relaxed vacation self.

In my dark and petty heart I hope that’s what Harry and Meghan do. Wish the queen well (or king if it’s a memorial of Elizabeth’s reign) and post a joyful sun drenched photo of the back of the Sussex kids heads somewhere (because they don’t deserve a full faced picture of Archie and Lili lol).

    • Izzy says:

You know what? I hope Harry and Meghan actually do this, in the Hamptons, WITH Beyonce and Jay-Z. That would just be delicious.

    • Eurydice says:

Oh, please let this happen – with the little ones frolicking and a caption “Happy Jubilee, Great Grandma Lilibet!”

    • booboocita says:

What would be great would be for H & M to travel to the UK without kids a week BEFORE the Jubilee. Visit the queen, congratulate her, maybe even take a pic of the three of them for publication, then get the hell out of Dodge and back to California before the RRs even know they were there. It could be done; after all, Harry was in England and at Frogmore for Philip’s funeral while the RRs were reporting that he was at Nottingham Cottage. The photo can be released after H & M are back in California. That would be a real thumb in the eye for the press. H & M love the Queen and have congratulated her on her long reign in person, and here’s the photo to prove it. But otherwise, no balcony pic, no extended family pic, no nuthin’. HA HA

EDITED TO ADD: I wrote this before I saw a similar post below. Still think it’s a good idea. H & M, the Queen, and no one else to snub or cavil.

  19. nutella toast says:

Can you get severe nerve damage in your hands from clutching your pearls for a full year?

  20. Calibration says:

It’s pay day for the toxic rota and they know it. Let’s make a thing of nothing while they can. Nothing good we can ever say about these disgusting creatures. I only wish the worst for them.

  21. Over it says:

That header picture breaks my heart. Especially now because whenever I see these pictures I think back to the Oprah interview and to just understand what Megs was going through, makes you cheer for the gracious, graceful woman she truly is, the royals had a good thing in her and f it up

  22. Midge says:

William in every photo – a cross between smug and constipated.

  23. Over it says:

Sorry the commonwealth church picture I mean

  24. MTC says:

The photo of the 4 icing out Harry and Meghan, and Harry looks ready to explode, at the time the photo was released, didn’t the British press say Harry was mad at Meghan for something?

    • Merricat says:

This photo is the best reminder of who the royal family is, and why Harry left. They will never change, even as their antiquated lifestyle is dying on the vine. I hope he never goes back.

    • Nyro says:

And they can expect that times ten if they go. They will for certain place them far in the back, behind the most random of twice removed cousins, and ignore them in front of everyone to let the world know they aren’t welcomed. You can’t put on a show of unity if you’re the only one willing to play the game. The majority of family won’t want them there and they’ll use protocol and body language to let the world know it. Because that is what they do.

  25. Legalese says:

On one hand I see them going because I think Harry is still deeply devoted to his grandmother and would want to be there to support her. I also think Meghan and Harry want to maintain a certain public connection to the royals – to simply remind the haters that this is their family’s birthright, and all the racism and hatred cannot take that away.

However, I also find it hard to believe that they have much desire to return to the UK, Meghan especially. I imagine it would be very anxiety inducing for both of them to not only return and have to spend time with the entire family, but also to have to do it so publicly. It would be the funeral but 100x worse. I also have a hard time seeing them bring the kids since they have gone to great lengths to protect their privacy. Putting them up on that balcony would be way worse than a few pap shots.

But who knows. Like many on here have stated, I would support any decision they make.

  26. Likeyoucare says:

I hope Meghan and Harry come a month earlier like ninjas.
Celebrate lilibet senior and lilibet junior birthday and go back to montecito without everyone knowing.
During the jubilee, they posted pictures from the meeting on archewell website to congratulate the queen for 70 years of service.

    • L84Tea says:

With a picture of Liz holding both Archie and Lili on her lap. Oh my, you’d be able to see the mushroom cloud from space…

    • Nyro says:

This would be a boss move. A win for the Sussexes and a boost for Liz alone, while relegating the rest of the royals to z-list status on the day of the big even. I’d love to see it.

    • MsIam says:

That’s my thought, fly in on the way home from Invictus and then bop out. I’m sure the tabloids will spin that as how “the selfish Sussexes forced the queen to change her schedule to interact with two babies, thus tiring her out at her delicate age, something something, grump grump!” But hey it would serve the purpose and take away the opportunity to write all those snub stories.

  27. Nyro says:

I wouldn’t stand on that balcony. It’s not just the queen’s birthday, it’s the biggest celebration of the crown. It’s royal Christmas and Thanksgiving combined. No way should they let their star status be used to celebrate something that has made it its mission to destroy them and their children while also bringing in millions for the tabloids as they abuse you more than ever. Go see granny privately. But there’s literally no reason to do public events for them, no matter how “momentous” the occasion.

    • Jegede says:

      Everything you said.👏👏

If H & M think naming the little darling Lilibet, after everything the BRF has put them through raised eyebrows, well a full blown celebration will be🤨🤨🤨

Plus, the Sussexes are unlikely to be invited on the balcony ( as Harry is no longer in the direct line); thus the BM will have a field day on ‘snubs’, ‘tantrums’ e.t.c with stories to exploit for weeks.
Just see how much they managed to make from Harry’s 1 SHOW at Phillip’s funeral!

Add that everyone, from courtiers to family members, have all made their hostility to Meghan very clear, to this day, well it should be a no-brainer.

      • MA says:

Harry is still in the direct line. Nothing changed except he’s not a “working” royal.

      • Tessa says:

Harry is in line and his children are ahead of Andrew and the York PRincesses, Edward and his children, and Princess Anne and her children.

    • L4frimaire says:

Exactly. They can attend the private events and receptions. They are not working royals and don’t need to show up for the taxpayers.

  28. Athena says:

Arthur Edwards, royal photographer, was on a recent podcast and his comment on whether Meghan will be at the jubilee was “I wonder what excuse she’ll make this time”, referencing Meghan not attending Phillip’s funeral. They’re already being negative.
They honor this woman by naming their child after her and she responds with I never gave permission. I believe she did but someone has now convinced her that it was a bad decision, hence the week of negative press.
I don’t think H&M should bother with any public jubilee event. It’s problem going to the queen, Charles, William and their consorts, that’s it.
What the planners should do is release family pictures. The queen with her children, with her grandchildren and with her great grandchildren, and one big family shot. So what we see are the pictures and not the behind the scene drama.

    • L4frimaire says:

Guess Arthur’s just a wee bit bitter. They really take her not being in the UK so personally. They don’t have to comment on Meghan but they never miss an opportunity to.

  29. Christa says:

Please. It’s a problem for them that she still breathes

  30. L4frimaire says:

They say this every time about the Sussexes coming to the UK. They can host the likes of Mohammed Bin Salman but they can’t handle Harry and his family visiting? Clowns. They’ll start making noises about Christmas if pandemic restrictions are lifted.

    • (TheOG) Jan90067 says:

I would LOVE it to be a kick in the ass for that salty bunch if H&M would refuse ANY holiday “invitations” (to be bashed!) by saying,

“We’ve created our OWN family (holiday) traditions, so we won’t be joining. Oh, and so sorry, but only OUR “direct line” is allowed.”

Frankly, they owe that bunch NOTHING. Even TQ. There is NO WAY she is unaware, or doesn’t know, what the RR are doing to him, Meg, and the kids. And SHE KNOWS all it would take is ONE STATEMENT from her. And she is too cowardly to do it. If she can have pics of her and Pedo put out, she could put out a statement. Harry is a better person than I, because I’d tell her where she could put her crown!

  31. Ainsley7 says:

It’ll be a major headache for all the Windsors (including Mountbatten Windsors) and not just because of the Sussexes. All the Royals, The Queen, Cornwalls, Cambridges, Wessexes, Yorks, Anne, and even the Sussexes have their public narratives to push. (I don’t mean that the Sussexes are as bad as the family, just that the whole family has a bunch of conflicting narratives) Then you have the courtiers pushing the private narratives of the working Royals and their own agendas. Finally the press’ get their hands on the info and push their own ideas on top. All focus will end up on the Sussexes because they sell better than any of the others. So, yes. The whole thing is going to be a nightmare for all involved and maybe they should skip doing big events. Like, just turn BP into a museum and have a big exhibit dedicated to the Queen and call it a day. Open up the other residences too. They can make a lot of money for the Crown estates and their private bank accounts. For literally everyone’s sake.

The only thing I remember from the last Jubilee was that the Queen and Philip were forced to stand for hours in the rain to watch a boat parade, the Middletons were in the parade, and Philip was hospitalized shortly after and missed the evening concert. I can’t imagine this Jubilee going any better.

    • Tessa says:

The Middletons of course will be in the parade again and maybe this time Uncle Gary will be with them, considering he’s always running to the media now.

  32. Jaded says:

This royal bullsh*t show is like Groundhog Day….

“There is no way that this winter is ever going to end as long as this groundhog keeps seeing his shadow… I have to stop him!”

  33. Robert says:

Keep Harry & Meaghan off the balcony. Put them on the ground near the crowd. And then see where all the camera’s point. I’m sure they would get more camera coverage. Which would only set Charles and William off. But how could they blame William for that. He did what they asked and didn’t push to be on the balcony.

  34. Lucy says:

Good, I hope it is a headache. I hope they spend a year freaking out, arranging and re arranging everything and then get blanked at the last minute.

  35. Shawna says:

It is literally their job for courtiers to figure out thorny protocol. It’s not a burden; the Windsors have people paid to figure it out for them. More workshy palace aides….

  36. Mel says:

If they decide to go , they should skip all the public events and only do the private ones. If I were them I’d buy baseball caps for Archie, and big sun hats for Lili-Di and they’d wear them out in public or looking through any windows. No pictures for you!

  37. Robin Samuels says:

Why do articles always mention Meghan’s age, but seldom Harry’s? If he was 50+ the situation would be reversed because the news would be she married an older man for the money, of course. She can’t win😩. The 2022 Invictus Games are in April. If they attend or don’t attend they will overshadow that deadbeat bunch. I want Meghan to come with the same fashion show she had in March 2020 color-coded messages. Thank you celebitchy❤️

    • equality says:

Anne is 4 years older than Tim Lawrence. Does the media make a big deal of that like for M&H? I don’t recall ever seeing it reported. Camilla is a year and 4 months older than Charles. Charles was 12 years older than Diana. I don’t recall anybody making a big deal of that. It’s just yet another thing that is okay for some but not others.

  38. Curious says:

i wonder if the courtiers agree to invite Harry/ Meghan publicly , then they will cause so many fake headlines to the Sussex, that they won’t attend on the day of the jubilee. then the courtiers will use that to shame the Sussex . the courtiers have a year to push and pull.if they visit, they will be a headache,if they don’t visit, they will be called shameless and ungrateful. best thing they can do is visit a week or so before the jubilee,do their secret thingy ,take some pics with the queen, and slip quietly out of the country .while the press will be waiting to take pics of them ,thinking they will visit for the jubilee. they can keep on doing their zoom chats .the next time harry might see the queen is they tell him when and if she gets ill. thank god for their zoom chats , cause the day the queen doesn’t show up to zoom chat ,or answer her phone , harry will know something is wrong.

    • lee says:

Well things are not looking well for the Jubilee. Scotland wants to bolt, Australia is asking why it should be tied to far away Britain and all those Commonwealth countries made up of people of color are becoming more alienated by the day by the nonstop palace orchestrated attacks on the only family member of color by the media. The Lilibet thing – takes the cake. Just vile using an innocent child to hurt and smear their parents. I know the Daily Mail and Fox News crowd enjoys every second of the media tormenting H&M but for the people of color they are not buying what the palace and courtiers are selling.

  39. Well Wisher says:

The more interesting factor is that allegedly the Sun just write off a £201 pre-tax loss making it assetless.
There is no way of knowing daily sales since they stopped recording figures in 2020.
Clearly the RF as soap opera is a untenable sales option and interesting to see the inclusion of the reluctant Sussexes as characters in this boring and unrelenting saga as ‘news’.
I hope this is a ‘clinging by their finger tips’ story to get images of this young family. It is obvious why they do not focus on their employees who are senior members. They do not sell. Maybe the public has lost its appetite for public harassment.
Did Harry rsvped to an invitation? Just asking for a friend.

  40. Likeyoucare says:

I guess BRF need to fire all the courtiers because they couldnt their jobs.
Hire more suitable, experience and educated people.
    Problem solve.
