He at least has solid family in the background and he seems to genuinely love her. Maybe the photo-ops are to build a savings for her and keep a home that is not impoverished. If she had remained with Nicole, with all the drug use and deviant behavior - who knows what she would have been exposed to and how she would have been neglected?
