Michael Che posted disgusting ‘jokes’ about Simone Biles & claimed he was hacked

OZY Fest 2017

I rarely cover Michael Che because I prefer to ignore him and all of the stupid, offensive, misogynistic crap he does and says. His Saturday Night Live jokes suck, and his stand-up comedy sucks too. But if women point out how misogynistic and gross he is, he harasses them online and tries to doxx them. It’s ridiculous he still has a job on network television, honestly. And I hope this is the end of that. Last night, Michael Che got on his Instagram Stories and talked about how he “wants to make fun of Simone Biles.” He then posted offensive “jokes” about Biles submitted by misogynists and racists and he critiqued the jokes:

People who saw this were appalled and disgusted. The Larry Nassar “joke” is completely repulsive. People began posting it on Twitter and ripping into Che. Several hours later, Che claimed he was “hacked.”

This a–hole was not hacked. He just wasn’t. He just hates women. And he’s stupid and terrible. I hope he gets fired from NBC. I hope he never works again.

I’d say this was unbelievable but we know Michael Che is exactly like this. No, he didn’t get hacked, give me a fucking break. I hope he’s fired too.

    • sa says:

Why would he be fired now? The world has known how misogynistic and awful he is for years, it clearly doesn’t bother the people at SNL or nbc.

    • Basick says:

Lorne Michaels the puppetmaster of SNL keeps him on. He’s enabled many scumbags over the years, all of them sexist (and often racist) men. NBC treats Michaels like he is untouchable.

    • Enny says:

Michael Che didn’t get hacked, he is a hack.

  2. Darla says:

I don’t even think he’s seriously saying he was hacked. He’s making a joke there too. I know it’s hard to tell on account of him never being funny.

I’ve always despised him. I rarely talk about it because there are plenty of white men who hate women, and I feel like I should stick to that lane, but Che is one of the biggest women-haters out there. I remember how he gleefully went after Hillary Clinton too. You would think that child rape would be a bridge too far, but not for Che!

    • cassandra says:

He really is deeply unfunny. SNL has been mediocre for a while now, but I really don’t know how he’s anchored Weekend Update for so long.

    • Mac says:

He’s disgusting. SNL needs to fire him today.

    • sunny says:

He is and continues to be pathetic, unfunny, and awful.

    • Mich says:

He is absolutely mocking people with that ‘I got hacked’ bs.

    • Amanda says:

As a woman of color, I promise you that it’s not only okay to criticize misogynistic men outside of your race along with the white ones, but necessary. As long as you aren’t treating white misogynists better, which you don’t seem to be guilty of at all. White girls and women are never truly the only ones who pay for it when any group of men are allowed to go around thinking their experiences with racism is a pass for sexism, or a pass to treat queer people badly, as another example. I can’t stand this man either.

  3. Steph says:

I saw these but for some reason thought it was Chet Hanks. Whatever. He’s a POS.

  4. Angie says:

It’s become pretty clear this week that (most) of America isn’t going to let you come for Simone.

    • SarahCS says:

I really hope we now get to see this in action. Awful people will continue to be awful but it’s been wonderful watching the outpouring of support for her to do what’s right for her, people really care about her wellbeing. I hope the gymnasts come for this guy.

      • Miranda says:

Physically? Because that would be the funniest thing Che has ever been involved with, getting his ass kicked by girls who are about 5′ tall and half his weight.

      • Betsy says:

@Miranda – that would indeed be a funny sight.

  5. Maddie says:

Vile. Just vile. Ofc a “man” like him would find humor in punching down against a woman, using the sexual abuse she suffered AND OVERCAME against her.
Now watch him cry about how “you can’t even make jokes anymore” and pull out jokes from the 80s to defend himself, as if society at large hasn’t evolved past that.

Meanwhile, Simone is still the greatest athlete her sport has ever seen and no amount of “jokes” can take that away from her.

  6. Merricat says:

Simone Biles does more in one morning than Michael Che has done his whole damn life. He’s a second-rate comedian and that’s putting a kind spin on it.

  7. Kalana says:

I saw the Larry Nasser “joke.”. It wasn’t a joke. It was -“What’s the shittiest, most abusive thing I can say while avoiding accountability by calling it a joke.” It was hate.

  8. Jo73c says:

Now wait for him to start complaining about cancel culture and how he’s the real victim

  9. Sofia says:

Why pull the “I was hacked” excuse? Own up and apologise. A simple “I am sorry for the dumb jokes against Simone. They were tasteless and trashy and I should have never posted them. Simone is a great athlete that has made Team USA proud and I wish her all the best in her journey”. It takes 20 seconds to type. But pulling a “I was hacked!!!!” excuse feels like a cop out to me.

  10. Liz version 700 says:

Gross. He is so gross. Just …be gone

  11. GR says:

He’s such a pig. But rich men almost never suffer the consequences of their actions.

  12. BlueSky says:

“Tell me you hate black women without telling me you hate black women” Michael Che is always available to carry water for white supremacy. Always ready to mock and denigrate black women and laugh at our pain. He knows he can get away with making fun of black women because he knows his audience. He is not funny and the only way he can be “funny” is to punch down which takes no creativity whatsoever.

    • Lemons says:

He and Dababy are two peas in a pod. Always trying to find those lower on the totem pole and use us for their craft. Hopefully, we just got a two-for-one special and can wipe these idiots from the entertainment industry.

  13. CidyKitty(CidySmiley) says:

His “I got hacked” was just part of the joke. He absolutely was not using it as an excuse because he never even tries to apologize for his “jokes.” he’s so gross.

  14. aquarius64 says:

NBC will get rid of this clown when his “jokes” hurt the network’s bottom line.

  15. Melly says:

Child abuse jokes, oh my aching sides! What a piece of low life trash scum. I don’t wish I’ll on anyone because well karma, so I’ll just say God doesn’t like ugly and you reap what you sow.

  16. TIFFANY says:

Yeah, he has been holding water for white supremacy for all his career. He does this because he knows Michaels and Jost will have his back as long as he will shuck and jive for them.

    We shall see.

  17. Marietta says:

I didn’t see the *joke*. I don’t want to. That is as low as you can go. I hope he is ripped to shreds. I was unaware of his behavior. Now ill.never forget. He’s a low life sum bag.

  18. girl_ninja says:

He is poison. And he’s as ugly as he is offensive.

  19. MellyMel says:

I have never liked this man! Just vile.

  20. Lou says:

Obviously he wasn’t hacked, and it’s especially apparent to me because the commentary is done in his pretentious all lowercase writing style. There is something about the way he takes the time to never allow a capitalized letter that is so lame to me. He’s trying so hard to appear not to be trying hard. Cringey.

  21. BnlurNforever says:

Thank goodness I’ve never heard of him before this and now I know who he is, I can deliberately avoid him. Why, oh why is it so easy to punch down at the easiest targets and why oh why do we still live in a world that allows it. I have a feeling that besides some online talking to, he won’t suffer any from this and will just go on living his life hurting others for sport. Karma, please put this dude on your list.

  22. Barbie1 says:

I hope Simone doesn’t get horribly depressed over this. Che and people like him could really do her harm. I hope she stays away from all social media. He really needs to get fired.

    • lucy2 says:

Sadly I’m sure she knew she’d be a target for those looking to attack women, especially black women, but still made the best choice for herself. She’s a hero. I hope she’s able to tune out the awful people, and focus on all the support. She’s an incredible person, well beyond her gymnastics skills, and I wish her nothing but the best.

Like most misogynists, Che seems to be insecure and thin skinned. He’ll be crying victim in no time.

  23. Sam the Pink says:

Here’s what I don’t get – why lie and say you were hacked? It is very obvious you weren’t. Now it looks like you get what you did wrong but want to avoid all responsibility for it. If he had done this and then apologized for it, people would still be mad but at least then he’d take some form of responsibility for it. The “I was hacked” excuse is tired and played out at this point. The jokes are lousy and he takes no responsibility for them, which makes it worse.

    • Jay (the Canadian one) says:

He seems to be mocking not deceiving when he says he was hacked. Basically everyone knows he’s lying and he knows they know, but it’s a winking “you can’t touch me now” gaslighting comment.

  24. Q says:

    He’s so gross.

  25. ClaireB says:

This guy has always given me the creeps and I’ve never really understood why he’s on SNL and hosting Weekend Update. His jokes aren’t great and his delivery is terrible. I’m not a fan of Colin Jost, either, but I hate the segments where they write jokes for each other to tell and Che makes sure Jost’s jokes are racist and mean.

I always figured he must be more useful in the writers’ room or behind the scenes, but it doesn’t seem so after all his nonsense here.

    • WithTheAmerican says:

I also hate both of them and always have, the smirking stupidity is just gross and boring.

  26. Kinda unrelated but Che always looks glassy eyed and high.. especially on Weekend Update

  27. GossipLover says:

I don’t understand how Che has lasted as long as he has on SNL. His jokes are more offensive than they are funny and he can’t even deliver them correctly. Its aggravating AF to watch him trip and stumble over his lines every freaking show. It sucks that they keep him when there are actually talented people out there who would do a much better job.

  28. Jenn says:

He used his Instagram to really go after a writer I knew, just because she wasn’t a fan of some joke on Weekend Update. Like, he deliberately made her life exponentially harder because *he* can’t handle any criticism. I’m never able to not think about that when I see him.

  29. Soupie says:

That suit on him is like lipstick on a pig. Which he is.
