I’m a believer in Bennifer in the sense that I think they’re really a couple, there are real feelings involved, they adore each other (right now) and they’re enjoying the hell out of each other and how much attention they’re getting. At the moment, it’s a net positive: they help each other’s images and they’re getting fun attention. Will it turn dark? Will there be negativity later on? For sure. But for now, it’s just fun. All that being said, I would love the inside story on the choices they made in the past week. First, they went to Venice for 48 hours and walked their first red carpet together in 18 years. Then they flew to NYC, where Ben went with Jen to an event in the Bronx. Then the Met Gala on Monday night, where J.Lo walked the carpet solo and Ben seemingly snuck in through the backdoor and only posed with Jennifer once they were inside the event. Instead of hearing why they made *those* choices, we’re getting yet another sugary exclusive from People Magazine:
After a glamorous red carpet appearance at the Venice Film Festival on Sept. 10, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez continued to dazzle as a couple at Monday night’s Met Gala in New York City. Amid their string of high-profile outings, Affleck, 49, and Lopez, 52, are enjoying their day-to-day and looking forward to a busy fall with their various work-related commitments.
“They are living in the moment and enjoying each other’s company,” a film source tells PEOPLE of the pair, who rekindled their romance earlier this year. “They really enjoy each other. They are like two kids in love!”
The couple works hard to coordinate their busy schedules “to try and be there for each other as much as possible,” says a Lopez source. “The past couple of weeks have been intense but they both seem very energetic and focused. They are a great team. They are figuring out their future together.”
Lopez and Affleck rekindled their romance in April before going Instagram official in July for the singer’s birthday. A source previously told PEOPLE they “are in it for the long run” after the two brought their respective children to the Magic Castle in L.A.
The rest of the People Magazine article was a summary of their upcoming projects, from The Last Duel (which is out in October) to The Mother, which Jennifer is filming shortly, to Marry Me, which will be out in February. As I said, they’re a real couple (IMO). But they’re also helping each other out when it comes to promoting their projects. Is that why Ben didn’t walk the Met Gala carpet with Jennifer? He wanted her to help him promote The Last Duel in Venice, but the Met Gala wasn’t really “promotion” for anything other than J.Lo’s whole fashion persona. Hm. As for “two kids in love” – I wish the Bennifer Redux was branded differently. It’s hot because they’re older and wiser this time around, not because they’re repeating their failed first attempt like dumb kids making the same mistakes.

I often find that when I am with someone I had known 15 years ago (hell 5 years ago even) and we haven’t seen each other since (as in, we haven’t grown together as individuals, but separately), I revert back to the person I was at that time with them, quite unconsciously. In a way, i feel that is what is happening here, which is why the narrative isn’t that different.
And in the current state of the world, I am sure turning back to when they were together was way better than than the chaos we are dealing with now.
I sincerely hope they’re being smarter about it. The big change since last time is that they both have children. It isn’t kind to bring people into children’s lives temporarily, let them build relationships, and then end it.
Don’t get me wrong, what you said has truth, but if you think about it, if Jen’s/Ben’s children are in Ben/Jen’s life only temporarily, can they really “build” a relationship?
My mom was a single mom when I was young (from ages 4-7). I met practically every guy she dated. They were all cool, but I didn’t really form relationships with any of them. Until she met my step dad, the men she dated were all inconsequential.
So, I really don’t think it’s that big of a deal. Until there’s an engagement or moving in together, it’s just fun.
I don’t care how they brand themselves. I’m just enjoying that they’re back together after all these years.
It’s so funny that they are being referred to as “kids” when they were in their THIRTIES for Bennifer 1.0.

They are doing the same thing and this time with smart phones and social media its actually magnified. I dont mind it it but please Ben must never bitch again about the media intrusion he is welcoming this time around.
It’s so fun and she’s so beautiful. I love it. I don’t even like either of them as celebrities but I love that they are together and I love that he looks like he is so ridiculously madly in love.

If it’s wrong, I don’t want to be right! And doesn’t Ben look so much happier and healthier than he did 5 years ago? He’s definitely benefiting from her glow, imo.
I agree- he looks great- probably going to the gym, eating right. You don’t look like her and party a lot. I always felt his friends and family had a lot to do with the engagement being broken. I also hope they do a Goldie and Kurt- jut live together for the rest of their lives, not everyone has to put a ring on it.

The gossip gods saw what we’ve been going through and they gave us Bennifer 2.0. Let’s not overthink this because I guarantee none of it will make any sense. I accept that there may be a term limit to all this (I hope not) but I will thoroughly enjoy it until such time.

Are there reminders to Ben that he better kiss with his eyes FIRMLY ON JLO’S FACE THIS TIME so magazines stop running his distracted Oscar kiss?

The 90s and early 2000s seemed like happier times. And maybe that’s because I was a kid, but I’m living for this. Seeing them back together makes me so happy.
