Earlier this month, Rege-Jean “The god” Page sent his fans into a fury when he showed up at the Emmys with his good friend and co-star from Mortal Engines, Menik Gooneratne. Fans were speculating on whether or not Rege had broken up with his girlfriend, Emily Brown. Women were getting ready to shoot their shot. However, it would seem Rege and Emily wanted to shut the rumors down. Over the weekend, Emily and Rege stepped out for the second time on a red carpet (they went to the GQ Awards in September) in matching black velvet at the BFI London Film Festival. Regé-Jean Page, 31, and Emily Brown decided to step out for a date night at the BFI London Film Festival on October 17. The couple even rocked matching velvet looks at the event. The Bridgerton star looked dapper in a black velvet suit, while Emily stunned in a black velvet gown.
The couple didn’t pose for official photos on the red carpet at The Tragedy of Macbeth premiere. After Regé-Jean was done posing for solo photos, he joined up with Emily to walk into the screening. He sweetly put his hand on Emily’s back as they went inside.
Regé-Jean and Emily have kept their romance very low-profile, especially since the massive success of Bridgerton made Regé-Jean a global star. The couple recently stepped out for the GQ Men of the Year Awards in September 2021, where the actor received the Standout Performance of the Year. Regé-Jean and Emily walked hand-in-hand into the event.
Despite the fact that Rege and Emily didn’t pose together for any pictures at the event, their message was loud and clear. Emily and Rege looked fabulous together on the red carpet and Emily did not come to play. Emily looked stunning in her black velvet dress and she made velvet look slinky. Rege made it quite clear that he was booed up with Emily by bringing her (although I think it is weird they didn’t take pictures together).
I am glad that Rege and Emily have finally gone “red carpet public” with their romance to keep us middle-aged thotianas off Rege’s back. At the same time, I also understand why Rege and Emily were keeping their relationship under wraps. The public is nosy and invasive. Hell, the public is me, I’m nosy and invasive. I look forward to seeing more Rege and Emily on the red carpet in the future. Because unlike you guys, I am not an envious middle-aged thotiana.

I had my fingers crossed the woman is pink was his girlfriend, and the skinny blonde was just leading them to their seats. Would have made a nice change to see a handsome guy with someone other than a traditional Barbie.
His girlfriend is actually kind of normal looking. I don’t think she necessarily comes across as a barbie even though she’s thin.

The goofy smile is what makes him adorable and accessible. Makes me think about snuggle time!
OK, I’m feeling bitchy, so I’m just going to say it: I’m already tired of this guy and he’s barely done anything. Yes he’s hot (I’m not blind!) and he did a good job with a character on a series…that he’s not even in anymore. I feel like the media coverage of him is asking me to care a lot more than is warranted right now. His next project better be fantastic because right now the hype has waaaaaaaaaaay outpaced the work. And that has happened to a lot of actors and actresses in the past. We shall see.
No, I totally agree. I didn’t like Bridgerton but he was definitely the standout in it. But beyond that…he’s been busy working on projects. And that’s great! I think he needs to do a bit more before I can really consider him the “next big thing” you know? He’s clearly an up-and-coming star with a bright future but I just don’t feel like I know him or his work enough yet to justify the hype, and as you’ve said, this happens a lot with hot new actors where they’re overexposed as being SO GREAT before they even do anything.
Not you dragging us in the last line lol. But yeah, the fire wore off for me once I saw his video interviews. Too chirpy and animated for my liking. The Duke shall remain in my heart but Rege-jean not so much. Also hate that he stylized his gorgeous Shona name to a Western version.
I don’t think it’s weird they didn’t pose together. Maybe Emily (who isn’t a public person it seems) is super shy and doesn’t want to stand in front of the flash of a million photographer bulbs and have pictures all over the Internet inviting scrutiny from crazed Rege fans. She still wants to support her guy but she isn’t the famous one and doesn’t want the attention. Dolly Parton’s husband is famously elusive and never is seen with his wife at public events and nobody thinks it’s weird because they’ve been like that for decades.
I find him so “meh” & watched every episode of “Bridgerton” wondering what the fuss is about regarding the two leads…me & Bae recently had a GREAT DEBATE about Rene being the new Bond as he thinks Rene is cool AF…I tell you I ALMOST pulled a Cersi 🤣😛🤣
I definitely found him more compelling than Phoebe Dynevor, at least. I can’t understand why they always cast people completely devoid of charisma to be the “it” girl or boy of a story. She’s supposed to be the standout from all the other young women that season, and she’s just like…a piece of cardboard.

I don’t find him attractive or interesting in the least, not sorry. I do wish him a long and successful career, though. We need more artists of colour front and centre.
