Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon’s ‘wild, insane’ love story is getting a biopic

Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne are still together despite Ozzy cheating on Sharon as recently as 2016. Sharon has said that Ozzy has cheated with a total of six women over their nearly 40 year marriage, which seems low especially considering that it includes two women who were nannies to their children. More importantly Ozzy has been incredibly abusive to Sharon and, in the documentary about his life aired last year on A&E, described calmly deciding to kill her in 1989. Sharon pushed a panic button while Ozzy was choking her, summoning the police. She declined to press charges.

Jack and Aimee Osbourne’s production company, Osbourne Media, is now working on a biopic based on Sharon and Ozzy’s life, and in collaboration with their parents. Sharon issued a statement about it. I would imagine she has a lot of free time after she got kicked off The Talk for being a racist bitch.

The lives and epic love story of rocker Ozzy Osbourne and manager and personality Sharon Osbourne will be the subject of an upcoming feature film.

The untitled project comes from Polygram Entertainment, and will follow a biopic format centering on their decades-long bond — one that exploded to the heights of pop culture with the flagship MTV reality series “The Osbournes.” Oscar nominee Lee Hall (“Billy Elliot”) is scripting the project.

“Our relationship at times was often wild, insane and dangerous but it was our undying love that kept us together,” said Sharon Osbourne. “We’re thrilled to partner with Sony Pictures and Polygram to bring our story to the screen.”

Sharon and her kids Jack Osbourne and Aimée Osbourne are producing via their label Osbourne Media, with Michele Anthony and David Blackman on behalf of Polygram Entertainment. Andrea Giannetti is overseeing development for Sony.

Music will obviously play a large role in the film, and will feature tracks from Ozzy’s band Black Sabbath as well as work from his solo career.

Hall’s writing credits include “Rocketman” starring Taron Egerton, Steven Spielberg’s “War Horse,” Stephen Frears’ “Victoria & Abdul,” and “Billy Elliot,” which earned him an Oscar nod for best original screenplay.

This makes me sad for a couple of reasons. One is that I don’t think these terrible people deserve a movie about their toxic relationship. Sharon continues to show us what kind of person she is and Ozzy is just as bad we just don’t focus on him as much. The other is that it’s being written by Lee Hall, who’s behind the incredibly moving and beautiful film Rocket Man. Elton John deserved that dreamy look into how he overcame his demons and became a legend; Sharon and Ozzy do not rate a movie on that level. (Also Rocket Man got shut out of the Oscars! Taron Edgerton needed a best actor nomination and it should have been nominated for best film, but I digress.) I hope this movie falls through somehow, but the Ozzy documentary was popular, there are big names involved, and there’s still interest in Sharon and Ozzy’s story.

What part of their “undying love” was in play when he tried to kill her?

    • Jan90067 says:

      The “_ _dying” part.

These people are garbage. Their purple haired daughter, her mother’s clone in *every* way, is garbage. WHY do we highlight garbage in this world?

Considering how fried Ozzy’s brain is, he isn’t going to be contributing anything more than a mumbled phrase here or there. This is ALL Sharon’s ego talking.

I’m sorry, I only read the title, but there is nothing that can convince me otherwise, I feel this deep in my soul, so that not even excellent writing can change my mind:

    Hard Pass

  3. Tom says:

YES to a whole series of Undying Love movies! Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards, JohnnyDepp and Amber Heard, Mel Gibson and Oksana. The list of “love” stories like Ozzy and Sharon goes on and on.

I originally had OJ Simpson and Nicole Brown on the list but that belongs in the Dying Love series.

  4. Steph says:

They had 3 kids out is Aimee Jack’s wife? Call me crazy but I don’t want to hear a story of such extreme abuse. “Their love over came it.” Yuck. Nope. No thank you.

  5. Noki says:

I am a sucker for biopics from the stellar ones like Ray,Whats love got to do with it to even cheesy lifetime ones. This sounds like it will be quality though,so i hope they nail the casting.

  6. Endlesscircles says:

    rock ‘n roll, baby

    abuse is abuse

  7. Piratewench says:

Codependent, violent, abusive and delusional relationship.
It feels like this is a hard cope from Aimee and Jack, trying to romanticize the dysfunction for themselves and the viewers.

    • Emma says:

      Yeah yikes

    • MarcelMarcel says:

I was just thinking that. The fact that their children are the producers just speaks to the normalisation of abuse & toxic behaviour within that familial unit and makes me sad. Their marriage *isn’t* passionate and romantic it’s just straight up abusive.
I hope Aimee and Jack unpack that trauma with a professional one day.
And of course Sharon is making a documentary about her marriage… instead of taking the time to read authors like bell books, Audre Lorde, James Baldwin and educating herself so she can unlearn her racism.

  8. Gil says:

I agree with everything you said about Rocketman. Taron Egerton deserved an Oscar for that, he really sang all the tracks. Regarding the Osbornes film I don’t think we need that film, romanticizing violent relationship is not cool in anyway.

  9. Emily says:

This isn’t even a “he used to cheat on her but then he realised how much he loved her and they overcame their issues and lived happily ever after in old age” situation. They’re still dysfunctional AF. Nobody wants this “love story”.

  10. HK9 says:

I really want to know who thought it was a good idea to green light this project. Like who??!!??

  11. kelleybelle says:

Oh please, she basically did the same thing as Lou Taylor and Jamie did to Britney, took over his life and pushed away everyone who knew better. She’s a control freak. And all those women he cheated with were “whores” who tried to destroy his marriage. Ugh.

  12. lunchcoma says:

These two awful people continue to be together because neither of them is willing or able to do the kind of personal growth needed to make healthier choices. They’ll probably be together until one of them dies, but there’s nothing romantic about any of it. It’s gross that someone is going to try to shoehorn this into the kind of format needed to make a satisfying movie.

  13. helonearth says:

I wonder if they will include the beginning of their relationship – when Sharon chased Ozzy even though he was married with two young children.

    These two deserve each other,

  14. molly says:

I don’t want to hear the story of decades of abuse and addiction, but I AM nosy about the Jack, Aimee, Kelly dynamic. Aimee and Kelly don’t have a relationship, but Jack is close enough with her to a media label? He and Kelly have at least been really close in the media, so was Aimee on the outs with him too at some point? How and why did that change? I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS!

    • MarcelMarcel says:

I’m nosy about their dynamic too! I also respect how fiercely private Aimee is so maybe I’ll never know. Like yes their reality tv show was wildly successful at the time. But I think not being in it was the smartest choice in the long term.
I’ve basically been nosy about their dynamic for a decade. I used to watch the Osbournes on YT. I’d love to understand why Jack and Kelly were comfortable being on camera while Aimee refused to be on the show.
Maybe Jack is the peacemaker? I have so many questions!

I love Ozzy’s music. It really resonates with me on a personal level. And having seen him live multiple times I can tell you he’s more articulate than you think. But a great human, nah.
