The Sussexes have apparently told the palace that they’re not returning for Xmas

Sussex Birkenhead visit

The fact that Jason Knauf, a still-employed member of Team Cambridge, turned over highly selective “evidence” to the Mail on Sunday’s lawyers is still shocking to me. Also shocking: the story had a pretty short half-life. It’s almost as if the Daily Mail, the Sun, the Telegraph and the Mirror don’t want to run any analysis pieces on what Knauf’s actions really mean, not just for Kensington Palace’s melodrama, but for the Windsor clan entirely. We’re a full week past the end of the hearing and it’s like it never happened. It was just a blip. Which is how you know KP’s orchestrated hit job didn’t go quite the way they planned. But it also means that the right-wing media is back to their regularly scheduled programming, which is “how dare the Sussexes not come back to a salty isle where we can heap abuse on them.” Yes, according to Page Six, the Windsors invited the Sussexes to come back for Christmas. And the Sussexes refused?

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have no plans to jet back to the UK for the holidays — despite the fact that it will be Queen Elizabeth II’s first Christmas without her husband, Prince Phillip, who died in April. Not to mention that the 95-year-old matriarch has had concerning health problems of late. An invitation has been extended to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to join the rest of the royal family at Sandringham for Christmas, but they will not be attending, Page Six is told by multiple royal sources.

“There’s a lot that goes into the logistics and the planning of the family Christmas, so of course, staff know that Harry and Meghan are not coming,” one royal source told Page Six. “If they were, they would have communicated it to their family by now. But this is Her Majesty’s first Christmas without her husband, so one would have hoped they would want to be with her.”

It’s believed that Harry and Meghan don’t want to cause the inevitable headlines that would come if they did fly over from their new home in Montecito, Calif.

“I think everyone understands there will be a frenzy when they both come back to the UK, but they need to rip the [Band-Aid] off and get on with it.” the source added.

The Queen is usually joined at Sandringham, her country estate, by family including Prince Charles, Camilla Parker-Bowles, Prince William and wife Kate Middleton, who accompany her to a church service.

Harry and Markle also are not expected to attend the Queen’s annual Christmas lunch for her extended family, normally held at Buckingham Palace. This year, sources believe it will be held at Windsor Castle, where the Queen is spending most of her time as she recuperates from a bad back.

While the Sussexes are believed to be planning to attend the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June 2022, another insider said that’s actually worse timing.

“If that is the first time they are back in the country since Megxit, and they suck all the oxygen from the Queen, that will be just terrible,” the insider said.

[From Page Six]

Again, it was just one week ago that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s closest aide turned over selectively edited evidence designed to harm Meghan and help the British media abuse her. Now, one week later, the royals are like “I can’t believe Harry and Meghan refuse to come back to this toxic hellhole for Christmas!” I hope Harry just refused to pick up the phone when they called with an invitation. Honestly, though, there were only two versions of this story and I’m glad it’s this version, which at least gives Harry and Meghan some agency and makes it sound like they actively turned down an invitation. The other version – which we’ll probably hear at some point – is that Harry and Meghan “begged” to come back for Christmas, only to have Prince William refuse their request.

PS… Meghan will probably send everyone Christmas cards with zero photos.

  1. Jane says:

If they came, they’d have to do the walk to church at Sandringham on Christmas morning and that’s all anyone would care about and they’d get criticised for pulling attention from the Queen/Charles/the Cambridges etc.

    • MMadison says:

Which is why the British Press wanted them to go to Sandringham. The pictures would be worth a lot of money not to mention all the articles written. Trust me the RF asked because they had to ask. Now they all must wait and see what the Sussex’s will do instead. Expect to see the Cambridge children on display but I dare say NOTHING the Cambridges or the entire RF can do would compete with a public outing or photo of the Sussex Family.

      • Jegede says:

        @MMadison-

        Everything you said.👍👍👍👊👊

        From means to motivation.

It’s all about the moolah & the invisible contract.

    • Charm says:

Even if they visit for xmas (which i doubt they will) they would NOT have to do the walk.
I dont think folks understand what “no longer a working royal” and “not representing the queen” mean. It means that even if H&M stop over on Shit-Isle on their way to or from the Hague next year, right in the midst of betty’s jubilee (if she makes it), they WOULD. NOT. be hanging out on the balcony or doing any other public-facing event with betty or any other member of the RF.

      • pottymouth pup says:

@Charm I think they understand that H&M won’t be permitted to represent the Queen but the RR wants to be able to point out that they don’t rate being part of the walk (Xmas) or on the balcony (jubilee) and those damn Sussexes are denying them the joy of doing so

      • RoyalBlue says:

If they return and remain incognito, the RR will write that the Sussexes have been forbidden from walking to church with the family and being on the balcony, because they have left royal duties. Always spinning lies.

    • Where'sMyTiara says:

Been over a year now and the Rabid Royal Media in the UK still haven’t gotten it through their thick skulls that *the invisible contract has been broken* between the Sussexes and the press. That’s what the whole exiting Royal life was about. They don’t get to dictate, they don’t get to whine, they don’t get to demand. British media get to drink a steaming hot mug of mulled STFU.

  2. Mac says:

We are still in a pandemic. Does anyone really expect them to fly overseas with two small children?

    • Betsy says:

Neither of whom can be vaccinated yet!

    • Jasper says:

And cases are spiking in the UK and Europe. The insanity of wanting them to travel in the midst of this!
Even more ridiculous are the complaints that they visit for the Jubilee. Weren’t the BM all frantically begging them to visit for the Jubilee? Now it’s a problem?

    • Snuffles says:

They could care less. In fact, the kids catching Covid is probably a motivation for them.

This is what they want. Pap/church walk. Separate the children from Harry and Meghan in the name of protocol and do God knows what with them. Set up the festivities to be as cruel and dehumanizing as possible for Harry and Meghan.

    • Aud says:

I thought they might because the Queen genuinely seems like she doesn’t have much time left.

      • Dilettante says:

I think Harry will come over on his own to see his grandmother before any festivities begin.

      • HeyJude says:

That’s unfortunate but they are not the ones that forced them into this ultimatum of leaving the firm and family orbit for some privacy and agency, so if something does happen to the Queen and they didn’t get to see her it’s not on their consciences.

They wanted to remain involved to a degree, remember. They wanted Christmases at Sandringham with Gran and all that family stuff but to go back to lives were they control their own public exposure after.

They were told that wasn’t an option at all.

    • MelOn says:

Europe is having a massive spike. People are acting like this is all over when it’s not. I can reasonably see why two people wouldn’t want to drag their two unvaccinated children on a 7 hr flight to participate in Christmas traditions where those children would have to stay in a room or another area with a nanny. Ridiculous.

      • Lady D says:

God only knows how many people would show up in the nursery to ‘check’ on their child and maybe sneak a quick pic of the Sussex children while they’re at it.

    • Liz version 700 says:

Wait what?!? 72 outfit changes, evil., Back-stabbing relatives, a puffed pastry ALLEGED pedo, Charles having a tantrum and Kate’s chutney?!?!? How could anyone miss this glorious event ?!?!

    • Isabellla says:

And I love how THEY are supposed to man up when the Windsors are constantly inflamed about something, William especially.

“I think everyone understands there will be a frenzy when they both come back to the UK, but they need to rip the [Band-Aid] off and get on with it.” the source added

    • Muisje says:

Absolutely yes, they can be expected to do so.

    • The Recluse says:

Yep. COVID-19, Delta edition, is still very much a threat.

  3. OriginalLala says:

I like how the RR seems to now have fully bought into the “bad back” excuse for Petty Betty….they screeched like banshees that H&M were “hiding” information about anything and everything, but the palace is very obviously lying about the monarch’s health.. and crickets… *sigh*..

  4. BayTampaBay says:

The Sussex children are not vaccinated. Who in their right mind would put two unvaccinated children (one an infant and one a toddler) on a plane and travel from California to Norfolk during a still raging pandemic?

ETA: Sorry Mac & Betsy; did not see your comment before posting.

    • Aang says:

I agree. But you’d be surprised how many of my acquaintances are flying their unvaccinated kids, including infants and toddlers, all over the place. Including Disney World. The kids then get covid, and if they’ve been back to school by the time they are diagnosed they whole class has to quarantine. It’s seriously insane. And these aren’t even anti vaccine parents. The kids are/were just too young to get the shot.

      • Legalese says:

So people should wait up to five years to travel with their children??? COVID isn’t going away (ever), and they’re not going to be vaccinating children under five anytime soon. The argument that parents should still be cooped up in their homes with their children is just entirely unrealistic, and a great example of how both extreme sides of the COVID debate can be SO unreasonable.

      • swirlmamad says:

My girls are eligible and just got their first shot last week, thankfully. We have not even eaten indoors at a restaurant with them since the pandemic began, farless gone on a plane. With Harry and Meghan acting as major advocates for vaccine equity, I think it’s BEEN obvious they would never act recklessly when it comes to covid protocols esp with their very young children. Risking their kids’ health and safety to go spend Christmas with people who would make the holiday utterly miserable? Please. These people just talk to hear themselves speak, as my mom would say.

      • MsIam says:

@Legalese they are already working on a vaccine for kids six months and older. I’ve heard it could be ready in the next few months.

      • pottymouth pup says:

@Legalese – the vaccine trials in children 6 months – 5 years of age have been ongoing for a while now (I’m not even sure if they’re still recruiting). The EUA submissions for those are forthcoming (the data will further be broken down by ages 6 months-2 years and >2 up to 5 years)

      • North of Boston says:

@Legalese, you do understand that not flying on a commercial flight to visit a crowded amusement park right at this moment does NOT equate to “staying cooped up in their homes” or not traveling for “up to five years”, right?

    • Abby says:

We are waiting to travel till our kids are fully vaccinated.

My SIL and BIL recently took their 2.5 year old and 6 month old from California to England, but BIL’s mother is in poor health and hasn’t seen them since before the pandemic. It was very stressful for all, quarantining and the extensive testing required was expensive (like over $1000 for testing alone), and they don’t have the family drama and toxicity that M&H have to deal with.

Covid Vaccines for under 5 should be approved by January, so it’s not really waiting 5 years or anything.

So I totally understand not wanting to go abroad when the pandemic is still happening!

    • Jan90067 says:

M&H spent Archie’s first Christmas WITH him, not with him stuck up in some upper floor nursery, not allowed to be with the “grownups” in their gowns and tiaras. I don’t doubt they want to, and will do the same with Archie AND Lili for HER first Christmas.

Call me nuts, but I have this picture of all of them (incl. Doria) in Christmas pajamas watching Archie going nuts unwrapping presents this year, now that he’s old enough to know what’s going on. Lili will be shrieking and laughing, dogs barking… 😊. Just a typical M-B-W Christmas in Montecito Manor.

**Side note: hope they release a great Christmas card as they have the last two years (with Archie crawling in front of the tree, then the water color painting of all of them and the dogs), this time with Lili.

    • Remy says:

Unfortunately, lots of people are traveling with kids. One of my Pilates trainer just went to Hawaii with her toddler. Last week, my cousin got married and another family flew from France with his wife and two kids (one and four) to nyc to attend, then flew to California for a week, then to London, and went back to France and then Asia. And before Nyc, they flew to Spain for a week. I was flabbergasted that they did that traveling with unvaccinated kids.

  5. Merricat says:

The British tabs are worse than Fox “News” Entertainment, which is saying something. Trumpism with clipped vowels.

  6. Kyliegirl says:

The BM are true hypocrites. First they say the Sussexes cause the Queen so much stress and are disrespectful. Then they want them to come back for XMAS where the BM will turn it into a media circus. Like they do with everything related to H&M. How is that not stressful and disrespectful to the Queen? Do they not see their role in this?!?

    • atorontogal says:

Do we really believe they were even invited for Christmas? I highly doubt it.

      • Jegede says:

        Oh they were invited.

        The Sussexes mean money.💲💲💲💲
No one cares about the others.

The Windsors have to play along with the roya rats and give then what they want.

They can have family tensions, but they have to play along or the press will turn.

      • superashes says:

I don’t think they were invited either. Or if so, it was very much an un-vitation.

      • fluffybunny says:

It was probably a courtesy invite that no one expected them to accept.

      • RoyalBlue says:

I believe it was a polite invite too, just like there are polite birthday and Christmas greetings. Nothing more, nothing less.

    • notasugarhere says:

I think they were definitely invited. Both W&K owe the tabloids big time, which they’d pay off with pics of Harry, Meghan, and possibly the kids throughout the holiday time.

  7. Brit says:

They’re fishing for information. Predictable at this point. These people want pictures of those kids so badly and when Harry was over in the UK, the rota were banned from the events he had. Do they think this will change? Lol.

  8. Polo says:

These people don’t actually care about whether or not they come for Christmas..though I think they would all love to take pictures of Archie and lili cause it means money. They go back and forth with all their stories because it generates income. We’ve already had different versions of this the last few months. No one cares about actually reporting facts or the truth because anything with Meghan on it means clicks and engagement. I wish more people would understand that and stop letting the RRs and tabloids use your anger/outrage to generate engagement. Meghan is the most googled royal so they need to constantly churn out the stories. Tom we’ll have a whole set of new stories.

  9. Becks1 says:

the thing I find most surprising about this is what Kaiser points out – that the story is that they were invited and turned it down, NOT that they werent invited because no one wants them there. I wonder if someone in the Firm is starting to learn their lesson about how H&M will push back and correct false stories.

Haha what I am saying of course they haven’t learned anything.

    • Polo says:

No they haven’t because wasn’t Camilla last month saying that how dare they come over or was it another pirate with a press pass?!
They’ll change the story again soon

    • Snuffles says:

It’s not surprising. They will choose the narrative that is the most negative. “Denying the Queen her “wish” to see her grandmother on what could be her last Christmas as she mourns the death of her beloved husband” sounds worse than “Charles or William denies Harry a chance to spend a possibly final Christmas with the Queen just as she needs her family the most.”

    • Magick Wanda says:

This way, the blame for breaking the Queen’s heart by denying her the chance to see Archie and Lili falls on Harry and Meghan. Now they will be the cause of her huge disappointment on “what could be her last Christmas” rather than William. There’s a reason they are willing to give H&M their agency in this article. It’s so they can blame them for not being there.

      • Jegede says:

        @Magick Wanda

Exactly. The narrative sets who leaked it.

Using worlds like “frail” in the headline to describe the Queen, stressing that it’s her “first Christmas” sans Philip, is very much setting the tome of a heartless and selfish Harry & Meghan, against a lonely, poorly, old woman.🙄🙄

      • NotSoSocialB says:

        My thoughts, as well.

      • Beach Dreams says:

Yup. Regardless of whether there was actually an invite, putting this story out there gives the palace and British media more opportunities to claim how uncaring the Sussexes are towards dear, delicate Elizabeth.

  10. Laughysaphy says:

Gee I can’t imagine why they’d want to skip a lunch where one has a high likelihood of being accosted by racists wearing ugly AF racist jewelry…

  11. Snuffles says:

I believe Harry has multiple phones. One for The Firm and certain members of the royal family he can’t be arsed with (which is probably monitored by one of his employees). One super secure burner phone for his communications with granny. One he uses for Meghan and family and friends he’s good with. And one for business.

  12. Amy Bee says:

“Also shocking: the story had a pretty short half-life. Which is how you know KP’s orchestrated hit job didn’t go quite the way they planned.”

Exactly. The same thing happened with the birth certificate fiasco.

What I don’t understand is, if the press says that Harry and Meghan trashed the family, why are they still expecting them to visit for Christmas or the Jubilee? I don’t believe they will attend the Jubilee either. I can’t wait for the press outrage when that happens.

    • Myra says:

What I also don’t understand is how they still believe palace aides even after all the previous lies have been debunked. No one goes, “Remember that #mypalacesource exclusive about What Meghan wants Meghan gets? I wonder what was the true purpose behind that lie? I wonder what else the palace aides have lied and are still lying about?”

    • Beach Dreams says:

I’m also skeptical of them visiting for the Jubilee. Prior to the bullying allegations and everything that followed the Oprah interview, I would’ve thought that they’d probably go with heads held high a la the infamous Commonwealth service. But after everything that the RF has pulled since March, I think post-Invictus they’ll make a quick private visit to the queen at most. It’s also possible that only Harry will make the brief trip.

  13. ModeratelyWealthy says:

“If that is the first time they are back in the country since Megxit, and they suck all the oxygen from the Queen, that will be just terrible,”

Okay, so let me understand: according to the me in grey, all the invitations they send to Harry and Meghan are just formalities because THEY do not want Harry to see his grandmother and Meghan to be the center of attention by existing.

then they turn around and complain ” how come the ingrates dont come and see poor old Betty!”

    Got it!

    • notasugarhere says:

Zara and her family will probably not be there, but are we hearing the RR’s and Palace insiders scream about that? Every year she has a paid job promoting a horse race in Australia. The same group that is heading up the re-started eventing gig at Gatcombe, this time under Peter and Zara’s names. One more way they’re trying to dodge inheritance taxes for that estate.

    • Amy Too says:

Seriously. “Come here so we can make an absolute circus out of you. It will happen. We know you want to avoid this circus and the rota and that’s one of the reasons you don’t come, because we’re horrible to you, but we absolutely cannot restrain ourselves. So just rip the bandaid off! Come and deal with weeks of unhinged coverage about you, and hateful tabloid commentary, and racist headlines about your children. Know that we will *not* under any circumstances respect your wishes when it comes to your children’s privacy and we *will* be accosting you and your babies at every opportunity so that we can shove cameras in the face of your young children while screaming obscenities at them and you to see what your reaction is. Come on! Just let us do it!”

Like maybe….*don’t* keep telling the Sussexes that you intend to act like unhinged banshees if/when they come over and they might be more likely to come over?

      • Feeshalori says:

Yes, because who could resist that tempting offer when it’s been one toxic dump after another?🙄

      • ModeratelyWealthy says:

Let´s be honest: they just want to see if Lili looks black to then, that is why yesterday there was that stupid story about Chaz collecting water from the Jordan so Lili could be baptized and now they are baiting Harry and Meghan with this stupid article.

  14. Eurydice says:

The wording in these articles is always so convoluted. “If they were, they would have communicated to their family by now.” That sounds like the H&M haven’t communicated anything, like they just ignored the invitation (if there actually was one). And suddenly the RF has become “their family”? Not if William the Incandescent has anything to say about it.

    • Amy Too says:

I noticed that too. The Sussexes haven’t said they’re not coming, they’ve just not verified yet that they are or are not coming. And why would they when this very article here shows that the press is specifically asking the royal household about whether or not the Sussexes will be there, and the royals are answering them!? This article says that the press intends to make it a media circus whenever the Sussexes come back. So maybe if I’m the royal family and I want the Sussexes to come for anything, I would 1) realize that this is a special situation where the Sussexes need a little extra secrecy around their plans and I would not insist that they tell me mid November if they’re coming for Christmas so that it has a lesser chance of being leaked and 2) I do not under any circumstances talk to the press about their plans and 3) I work with the Sussexes to help them avoid the tabloids and/or I tell the tabloids that they need to back off for this Christmas and not accost my grandchild and his wife and very young children at the airport, at their home, at my home, at church, etc.

But that’s not what the family wants. They want to pretend that the Sussexes do not actually receive different press treatment from any of the rest of them, that the Sussexes have not surpassed every single one of them in terms of celebrity and media attention, and that the Sussexes couldn’t possibly need any special accommodation because they’re only 6th in line and it’s apparently physically impossible for the 6th in line to need more care and consideration and protection than the Queen, FK, and FFK. I believe that they do want Harry and Meghan and the kids there because they’re sick of feeling “snubbed” by them. Like it hurts their ego that the Sussexes feel like they’ve been wronged and that the Sussexes act like they need special consideration and accommodation when it comes to their travel plans and avoiding the media. This family wants nothing more than to believe that Harry and Meghan are “in their place,” as in they’re not more popular than any of them, they don’t get extra media attention, etc. And they want to be able to command their presence at things like Christmas and the jubilee and have the Sussexes just say “yes of course, whatever you want, because you’re the Queen/heir/heir to the heir,” no questions asked. But the Sussexes obviously can’t do that. They are bigger than the royal family. They do need more security and protection than any of them. They do need to manage their PR and their press interactions more specifically bc of the things that get written about them for clicks and cash. I think the RF thinks that the Sussexes are just acting like “divas,” and they would get a big high out of commanding those “divas” to do something and having the Sussexes comply with no counter offer or no extra conversations about how to make this easier for the Sussexes.

      • Eurydice says:

Whatever the RF may think or want, it’s not really relevant to H&M. They can exchange Christmas greetings with the Queen the way they did last year. And the Queen can send Archie and Lili an Instant Pot to go with the waffle iron she sent last Christmas.

      • Kfg says:

The RF promised the Sussex kids for Christmas to keep them from reporting on Andrew and Charles’ foundation funds and TOB affairs. They can’t deliver so feed them to the wolves. A picture of Lilly and Archie is worth millions. They’re mad that they can’t dictate what H&M do anymore or make them look bad to the world. They’re also hoping that JK participating in the Daily Mail is overlooked bc again that leads to inquiries. They’re so salty because they still expect M to apologize and bow and scrape for having the audacity to be black and not awed or feel inferior to them.

  15. ElleE says:

That hearing sure didn’t go the way KP wanted. I listened watched the stream on Armistice Day and I think it was MM’s barrister that said something like, “Kensington Palace cannot [drop evidence like this with no context] and turn the lights off”. Turn the lights off? Ha, they are hiding behind the sofa like cyclists hiding from drug testers at the door!

    • windyriver says:

Is there a website where I can read either a transcript of the hearing, or at least the full text of the documents involved (e.g., the full emails that were released)? I’ve looked around a few times, but I’m not the greatest Google sleuth, perhaps there are legal sites I’m not aware of?

      • ElleE says:

@Windyriver I have not been able to find any of the filings online. The stream of last week’s days long hearing is so up on YT. Just Google “sky news mail on Sunday hearing”. They read aloud from the docs that we can’t find online and I have to say I did find some of it surprising and new ( obviously as the news can never really cover legal proceedings thoroughly, I am not implying bias).

      • ElleE says:

@Windyriver just wondering if you know anything about this:
I listened to hours of the hearing in the background, while in was working, for the sole purpose of getting more detail on this info about KP having auto-archived Meghan’s texts and emails, the whole thing. How were excerpts of these docs introduced and how were the full documents compelled and produced, how were excerpts published on Twitter? I didn’t get any info on that input because I couldn’t listen to the whole thing.

Is there any real foundation in fact to this “twitter fact” that Jason produced privileged communications that Meghan no longer had access to?

      • ABritGuest says:

The hearing streamed live on YouTube. I haven’t listened to any of it but heard the judges were constantly trying to keep the daily Mail lawyers focused on the law not irrelevant gossip.

        https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=cMN9ZTyZZ_w

      • windyriver says:

Thank you both for the information!

Sorry, @ElleE, have no details on that, but interesting questions. I didn’t listen to any of the hearing, didn’t even realize at first that was possible. Got interested afterwards when I heard JK was selectively choosing his excerpts for the court, that Meghan’s attorneys requested the full documents be released, and that KP routinely deleted things after 6 months. Am not in the legal field, but thought I’d heard references here from those that are about being able to read filings of various cases on particular websites – not specifically about Sussex related cases, and possibly in reference to how things are done in the US. So I was poking ineffectively around things like the Courts of Justice website to see what I could find, but mostly trying to read what I could of portions of documents posted on Twitter.

they’re going to do this every year for stupid BM coverage even though they’re never going to go again.

  17. msd says:

We’re still in a pandemic and cases are worryingly up across Europe/UK. Many countries are heading towards holiday season lockdowns. The situation is going to get worse in the next 5 weeks, not better. I wouldn’t travel to another country unless I had to, especially with little kids.

Royal Christmas sounds awful, anyway. I just discovered that they weigh everyone before and after, which is apparently depicted in Spencer ( I haven’t seen it). Urgh.

  18. mellie says:

I would be terrified to take my kids over there…I just wouldn’t do it. Period. They owe those people nothing.

    • superashes says:

I agree. I think it is actually physically unsafe for them to go at this point as a family. Maybe an unannounced visit here or there, but nothing like this.

I can see them popping over before Christmas to see TQ one last time and introduce Lili, but not going to Sandringham or anywhere near other royals. It will be super incognito, and hopefully they’ll only stay for like 2 days before bouncing to NYC or somewhere in Europe away from paps. They re great at stealth traveling, so this could work.

      • Lucky Charm says:

I was thinking they would wait until after Christmas, and go when everyone else had left. That way they could visit the Queen privately.

  19. Louise177 says:

The press is like New England weather- wait a minute and it will change. In a couple of days it will be that Harry and Meghan begged to come for Christmas. Basically it’s the same theme: H&M are horrible and can’t do anything right.

  20. ElleE says:

While the other half of the Rota-controlled rags are running stories about the staff at Sandringham quitting. There isn’t going to be a Christmas there but it is cute of them to pretend that there is.

Wonder if Harry has given any BRF member his phone # by now. When Philip passed, the Royal family had to call the British Embassy who in turn sent a sheriff to Harry’s place anger the Sheriff informed whoever answered the intercom (wasn’t Harry). Talk about going “no contact”!

Have to finish some work so that Ellen and the Duchess get my undivided attention in a few hours.

    • JerseyCow says:

Ellee, hadn’t heard about the quitting. Is there a reason? Asking because I’m wondering if the queen will go there again (suspecting she’s far worse than the palace is saying)

      • ElleE says:

So, there is no reason given, but speculation is that it is a sad indication of the Q’s state. Sandringham’s small staff were probably all Philip’s staff anyway and were kept on only to keep the lights on. Their jobs include housing and they get no notice (so it seems, which is just how they do it there) when they are no longer needed and have to vacate. The staff was a “bubble” last year and this year, everyone is leaving ahead of getting caught in a bubble so it does not look good for the Q. I think I read the Queen Mum’s staff were shocked at how fast they had to vamanose- senior royals don’t kick the bucket often so we don’t have a lot of data on this.

It might be that is why this fairy tale was spun-to distract from the fact that Sandringham is more likely to be a museum ( this I think had been Charles’s plan) by Christmas than the site of a family holiday.

  21. Lizzie says:

Didn’t we find out staff are leaving Sandringham? Probably no one is going there for Christmas.

  22. mariahlee says:

That the “insider” used the term “Megxit,” only a week after Harry openly condemned it, is telling. Page Six the worst and I’m happy they got embarrassed and exposed recently with their wrong Chris Evans People scoop.

  23. HK9 says:

Vaxxed or not I wouldn’t want to step in to that den of vipers. It’s the best decision for everyone.

  24. Scout says:

The British media will attack them regardless of what they do. So they may as well do what they want. This choice protects their children from being photographed against their will. And running the risk of a covid transaction. Bec if they went….any illness afterwards would absolutely be their fault.

  25. Bunny says:

There are other scenarios: they weren’t invited, but William and Kate are leaking that they were.

In this scenario, H&M look terrible for not showing up, but can’t go because they weren’t invited.

Alternatively, W&K are leaking that they issued an invite, but aren’t sharing the details, which are impossible to agree to. The Queen’s Christmas celebrations exclude children for many of the activities. H&M would either have to leave the babies in the US and be away for Lili’s first Christmas, or travel with babies during the pandemic, and still be away from them at Christmas because children aren’t included in many of the events.

  26. Over it says:

Maybe Meghan should send Christmas cards with the following. …. merry Christmas Bitches,, Oprah part 2 coming soon to a television near you. Lol.

    • Amy Too says:

I think the Christmas card photo should be a picture of the cover of Harry’s new memoir. The accompanying Christmas letter can include excerpts specific to the family member receiving the card!

  27. Sofia says:

Damned if they do, damned if they don’t. If they go they’ll be accused of taking attention away and if they don’t, they’ll be accused of not caring about the queen.

They should do what they want.

    • Eurydice says:

You know, at this point, I’d say they aren’t damned at all. The BM have no meaning for them, William’s antics mean nothing – H&M are establishing themselves in the US and doing it quietly and in a positive way. They’ve said they communicate privately with the Queen and none of the “experts” have come out to say otherwise – and that’s a perfect way to care about the Queen while not taking attention away from her.

  28. notasugarhere says:

Note the Palace insider is still using the horrid ‘m’ word instead of Sussexit. They will never learn.

    • lanne says:

It’s on purpose. It’s to show that they openly align with the racist haters. They should be called on it often.

    • RoyalBlue says:

that’s terrible. and to me it’s a sign that they have cancelled Harry too, and not just Meghan, because Harry specifically explained how harmful that word can be, and they keep doing it. So I agree with lanne, that it’s not that they never learn, it’s done with intent. rubbing salt in a wound.

  29. Gigi says:

If Page Six can’t even break the news of something as basic as Meghan‘s plan to appear on Ellen’s show, how can they know their plans for the holiday?

    • Jedi says:

Such a good point. Like dozens of people would have known Meghan was on Ellen (the audience, everyone who works on the show, everyone works at the studio, the studio lot security lol), and they still couldn’t get that story. God they are bad at their jobs.

  30. Jen says:

It seems like this time of year, we always hear how horrible Sandringham Christmases are especially for families that would like to be with their kids. But then at the same time, it seems to be shocking when part of the family decides to skip it.

  31. equality says:

Will the Queen even be at Sandringham for Christmas? I wonder if Eugenie and Bea would attend either with new babies they will want to actually see for the holiday. Good year for PC to start putting some of his plans to make just himself, Will and George the face of the monarchy. Let those 3 walk to church and everybody else enjoy their holiday. IF H&M go the courtiers will not know anything ahead like with the statue unveiling. I could see them going privately to see QE and not attending the family things.

  32. TIFFANY says:

    Bish please.

The only reason they want the family there is because KKKlan want to see Lili and Archie’s skin color.

    Who they think they fooling.

    • Julia K says:

True. So true. $$$ is the not only reason for wanting those pictures. They can Photoshop to their hearts content, and cause the little ones much grief. Also, Meghan, as a new mom, would decline to be weighed. I know I would. Take that scale away.

  33. Barbie1 says:

Its shameful that the entire family is elsewhere while the Queen is sick and old as fck. They are all too selfish. They should spend some quality time with her while she is still around.

    • ML says:

You must be joking?! Meghan and Harry have a ton of pressure from racist, xenophobic tabloids. They have 2 young, unvaccinated children. Granny is very old and unwell and even with a booster shot, at high risk for Covid. They can choose to stay where they are loved and celebrate the holidays there, or go to a protocol driven pit of vipers. Hmmm.

      • Barbie1 says:

Harry can leave his wife and kids at home for a while and go visit his grandmother that he supposedly loves while she is still alive. He can follow safety protocols just like everyone else. His last moments with her are worth it. The tabloids and other nonsense are pathetic excuses to not see a loved one before she succumbs to illness.

      • MsIam says:

@Barbie he’s already seen her twice this year, according to the tabloids. I worked with someone from Nigeria who only got to see his family once every 5 years or so because of the cost to fly his family over. Given that we are still in a pandemic, no need to fly over there again. The queen will not be sitting home alone on Christmas, trust me on that.

    • Haylie says:

What’s pathetic is people trying to dictate to Harry and Meghan that they should travel to see the family that keep attacking them and risk their children’s health in a pandemic. All for a Queen who wouldn’t lift a finger to protect them while breaking her back to protect her Sweaty Pedo Nonce.

    • Beach Dreams says:

LOL buzz off with that idiocy. Like MsIam, said, Harry already visited her twice this year in a freaking pandemic. He and Meghan also do Zoom calls with her. You know who’s really been selfish? The infallible queen herself. Maybe the queen should’ve said ONE public statement of support for Meghan instead of cheerfully letting the RF and the media go rabid with attacks. The old crow gave more support to the prime minister’s mistress-turned-baby mama-turned wife than to a member of her own family.

    • ML says:

Perhaps they will fly over, but to most people from the outside of the royal family the queen has not exactly behaved as a loving grandmother. She has the power to shut down rumor and innuendo about Harry and Meghan (see how that juxtaposition with she continually shelters Andrew). She has not protected them from at all and is a large part of the problem (though “recollections may vary”–this was seen internationally as a fairly cold, tone-deaf, late response, which was issued by Harry’s “loving” grandmother). I think most people would be “disappointed” if a dear family member left them to the mercy of a tabloid press and internecine palace intrigue.

      • Gabby says:

An unloving grandmother and a disgustingly neglectful and unloving mother. She abandoned Charles and Anne during critical times in their early development when they needed love the most. When children bond and learn empathy. It is no surprise that Chuck and Anne turned out like they did. I know how “hard” Anne works but she still sounds like a bitch who gets off on insulting people. You reap what you sow and this lucky queen has received waaaaay more love back from her family than she ever gave. Not an ounce of sympathy here. May she be wrapped in regret for the rest of her days.

    • Over it says:

Well this selfishness you speak of goes both ways. It’s very selfish and cruel of Betty not to stand up for her grandson and his wife not once. Respect and devotion is earned, not given because you share DNA. She helicoptered to Windsor, I think she can private jet it to California. Stop acting like she is sweet loving apple pie baking granny, her cold hearted actions towards Harry and his wife especially when she was pregnant shows us otherwise. She moves heaven and earth for her randy Andy. Yet, she is powerless when it comes to Harry, Meghan, Archie and lili.

    • MelOn says:

LOL!! You do realize that they don’t operate like a normal family right? You know that Granny doesn’t have them come over and bake cookies or that they’re going sit by her bedside and hold her hand, right? She’s probably happier with the people who KNOW her being around, the ladies in waiting and the servants who’ve been tending to her for years. She doesn’t want awkward conversations or anyone bugging her for anything.

    • swirlmamad says:

@Barbie1 is a troll and full of sh*t. Harry can leave his wife, son, and infant daughter (who is celebrating her FIRST CHRISTMAS) at home to go visit the family that has done nothing but stab him in the back and emotionally torture his wife? GTFOH with that utter nonsense.

  34. ABritGuest says:

I think the press/courtiers are trying to force H&M to reveal their Christmas plans, similar to how they kept going on about the christening (they snubbed U.K. or William isn’t permitting Windsor christening) before H&M’s spokesperson said plans for the christening hadn’t been finalised. Notice how that story has gone quiet

It’s all a soap opera to the media really. There’s all the outrage over a newborn’s name, Penny Junor says Brits are fed up with them, we had William’s ‘friend’ quoted as labelling H&M damaged goods, we’re told how the family are relieved the drama is gone, last week it was all about how great it is that William’s main guy has helped the Mail’s case & exposed Meghan but now it’s all hope they come see family at Christmas!

    • L4frimaire says:

This is the madness surrounding the Sussexes. Every headline out of the UK is negative and hateful, but then they want them to return for Xmas? Is this story even accurate? They’d be sitting ducks in quarantine. Maybe Harry should at some point visit his grandmother with his family, but is there even an invite? I don’t know because these people and the goons surrounding them are just awful. I think they’d invite the Sussexes just to ignore them or cancel on them once they were there. Even if for some reason they wanted to go, would they even be safe, especially Meghan and the kids? If for some reason they decided to step foot over there, it should be at some random time, because they only want them there to both display and attack them, like war trophies.

    • ElleE says:

      @Abritguest IKR? Let’s take a step
back and squint. Doesn’t it seem as if the BRF has been reduced to Bad Dad status? Having to ask the British Consulate to send a sheriff to Harry’s home to inform him that his grandfather died? Harry knew this was coming and still he allowed no pathway for this information to be conveyed.
Public invitations (if this is true) to join them for Christmas is just as divorced from reality and pathetic as Bad Dad going on Australian TV to plead with Megan to bring his grandson over for a visit with grandpa.
You’ve been ghosted guys. The whole world can see this, geez, have some dignity.

      • L4frimaire says:

That is an excellent point. If this was serious no way would they be throwing it out to Page Six, unless it was to sabotage any plans.

  35. Harper says:

Harry and Markle also are not expected to attend the Queen’s annual Christmas lunch for her extended family…

Harry and Markle? Seriously? Can’t even use her first name?

    • Dee says:

Yeah I saw that too. I thought maybe it was just a case of sloppy copywriting since they do say Harry and Meghan earlier, but I think I’m probably being too generous.

    • Over it says:

I also noticed this and it’s seriously gross. William gets called prince william and Kate gets a first and last name, but the black duchess can only be Markle and her husband for marrying a woman of color can just be Harry. To hell with these racist.

    • ML says:

Ouch, I actually read it as Meghan and went back. Obviously, you all are correct. That’s beyond crass.

  36. MsIam says:

This horrible family. I hope H&M throw a big Christmas party with family and friends (outdoors of course) and then leak the pictures of them having a wonderful time. I hope Adele will be there. Then all of the rota rats can simultaneously blow a gasket!

  37. Feebee says:

They wouldn’t have been there last year (can’t even remember!) so I don’t know that there’s much angst that can be wrung out of this for the BM. Other than the Queen may be on her last legs.

Not surprised the JK story was muted. Why would the Tabs want to write about how fucked up their world is? No, no. Where’s the nearest rug?

    • MsIam says:

It was muted after it leaked out about Charles and the family berating Harry. Now its “emails, what emails?” Lol talk about a self own!

  38. aquarius64 says:

KP injects this email poison into the court’s bloodstream, malign Meghan more, and expect them to put their children at risk with COVID for a photo op? Email-gate blew up in their faces and Scammy wants to sue for defamation and invasion of privacy. Her target is Meghan but she plans to drag in Jason because of the released emails. Oh karma.

  39. Ania says:

Let me get that right: Meg should pack her two babies, fly to other continent where she is hated so much she considered suicide to spend God awful Christmas with racists that keep actively hurting her and be separated from her babies the whole time because „protocol“? Jeez, what a difficult decision!

    • Tessa says:

and Harry should stay with his family in the US. To protest the disrespect some of his family have shown his wife.

  40. Mslove says:

Does the BM expect us to believe that the Sussexes would actually consider spending Xmas at Sandringham? With their “we’re better than everybody” traditions, the constant changing of clothes and incandescent rages? Imagine having to spend time with pedo Andy and worrying about catching Covid. Thanks, but no thanks.

    • Lady Digby says:

Why on earth would either Meg or Harry want to spend Xmas with Jason,s boss and the rest of the back stabbers? After JK,s intervention last week at the Court of Appeals in a Big Willy sanctioned hit, I seriously doubt H can ever socialize with his brother ever again. No one could overlook such a betrayal. Thomas Markle is available if they want to reward him with Xmas lunch instead!

  41. Feeshalori says:

Harry and Meghan don’t need an invitation to visit the Queen, she’s family and it’s not as if she’s got a heavily loaded schedule anymore. They just need to coordinate a visit with her. If and when they decide to come, it’s when they choose to do so. In and out and under the radar, not at the beck and call of those abusers who would malign them even more if they knew they were coming. As the childhood taunt goes, “See ya, don’t want to be ya!”

    • MelOn says:

Yeah no, they have to make an appointment to see her. They can’t just roll up when they feel like it.

      • Feeshalori says:

That’s why l said they need to coordinate a visit with her. And they don’t have to wait for an invitation, not on the courtiers’ terms but certainly on their own. I know they’re not going to travel thousands of miles just to pop up unexpectedly at the door and say “Hi gran!”

      • equality says:

Why do you think they don’t need an invitation? Wasn’t there a time when H supposedly had an actual appointment with the woman and then suddenly he couldn’t see her?

      • Feeshalori says:

Yes, that happened after one of their successful tours where jealousy was rampant and he said in the Oprah interview that she was not being well advised. So l don’t think he blames her for that. But now at this stage in the queen’s life when her health is so precarious and she may not have long to live, l don’t think Harry would be waiting for any formal invite at this point to visit her and would be proactive in setting this up. I also think the queen would be delighted to see him as well given all the past talk about their Zoom calls and their constant communications. Why wouldn’t he arrange a visit with her? Let her staff know and arrange a convenient time for both of them? He’s her grandson. All of this is just my opinion and with Harry so fond of his grandmother no matter what we think of her, l just feel that standing on ceremony and waiting for that formal invitation while time could be running out is not in his playbook if he wants to see her before it’s too late.

  42. Chelsea says:

It’s Pagesix so obviously taking with a grain of salt but the actual quotes from “sources” dont say that H&M were asked just that they haven’t reached out to say they are coming. I think the Firm delusionally thought they’d be clamoring to come back so no one actually invited them and after the fiascos with the name, the months long christening gripes, and this new bettayal i can understand 100% why Harry wouldn’t even bother to ask.

You’re going to spend months complaining to the press about how you don’t want their daughter baptized over there while authorizing that snake Jason to break his NDA to smear Meghan and you expect Harry to call begging for a Christmas invite? PLEASE. They have a support system that they can spend the holidays with here without having to get weighed or having to wait to get their and their kids’ presents in the order of the line of succession.

  43. Jay says:

So on one hand, these “experts” acknowledge that it will be bad for the Sussexes when they come, but advise them to “rip off the band-aid”, as though they are required to return and take the racism and abuse that’s coming their way. They’re not.

Then they worry about their visit overshadowing the Queen’s jubilee and taking all of her oxygen??? That’s an intentional choice of words given the mention of the Queen’s poor health.

Listen, based on everything we’ve seen from Harry and Meghan these last two years, IF they come back to the UK, it will be on their own terms. They won’t put their children at risk by bringing them in a pandemic, and with any luck the rota will not know about their visit until they’ve left British airspace.

  44. Meg says:

‘We keep badmouthing you, how dare you not visit us!’
This is so familiar growing up in a toxic home with narcissistic parents

  45. Theothermia says:

They’ll make whatever call is right for them. Who cares about creepy ol’ Sandringham when the covid variants are running rampant? They have lil kids!

It’s funny how the BM have so little on H&M that they’re trying to turn Christmas plans into a scandal. British press is beyond thirsty. Parched.

  46. Misskitten says:

Also want to add, I’ve been highly irritated for a while now at Page Six, which has regularly joined in on the Sussex-bashing. And the fact that its a US publication REALLY burns my ass. So I hit the link in the article here to be taken to the Page Six website, I wanted to see if it was possible for me to leave a shitty comment about the article. Well I didn’t see any comment section, but there WAS a thing at the end of the article that basically asked you what you thought of it. Options were “top notch’, ‘so-so’, and ‘next!’ AND it shows you how people voted. And I’m happy to report only about 20 people have voted top notch, while over 110 have chosen next! (So far)

  47. equality says:

I’m more interested in what QE will do in her speech? How will she mention Lilibet and will she show a picture?

    • Jennifer says:

Hahahah, does she even HAVE a picture of Lili?

      • swirlmamad says:

Even if she does, I’m sure Harry and Meghan would never give permission for her to display it. My guess is she sees her and Archie over Zoom, but no physical photos that can and probably would fall into the wrong hands.

  48. blunt talker says:

I am glad the above poster Sid said it-99% of the negative stories or comments are from publications with UK ties or Rupert Murdock-I have been checking for a while the negative stories or lies to find out who owns it or who wrote it-British Shitstains all the way.

  49. alane says:

Not at Christmas, NOT EVER (I hope).

  50. Cessily says:

The Royal family has not changed one thing since they left now they just attack to distract from across the Atlantic. Let them celebrate Christmas with Jason Knauf, AL, CT, RD, VA and the rest of the rat pack that they sold their souls for.

  51. Robin Samuels says:

Rachael Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, owes the Queen of England nothing! Can we please stop with the Meghan needs to come and see the Queen before she dies? While living in the UK, Meghan was stalked daily, and not one sentence from the Queen in an attempt to stop the madness. Yet, she had no problem showing support for Boris Johnson’s wife. Either she’s welcome or unwelcome, booed or cheered, safe or unsafe; the majority needs to pick a lane. The only thing Meghan needs to do is take care of her children and protect her mental health.
