In Touch Weekly’s cover story this week is basically the same old crap, different day. They’re trying to convince us that Katie Holmes is “at war” with Tom Cruise over a multitude of issues, including but not limited to Scientology, raising their daughter, her parents and how Tom just won’t leave her alone for two seconds. While I buy that Tom and Katie fight (as everyone does), and that they probably fight about one or more of these issues, I don’t buy this whole “they’re at war” thing. Still, whatever. It’s an interesting read. Here are some of the highlights:
*Katie is still fighting for Suri to have a Catholic education rather than Scientology-driven education. Although we ran with the Daily Mail’s story about Suri attending a Catholic preschool (and In Touch repeats the same claim), Boston media outlets later denied the reports. Suri probably isn’t attending Catholic pre-school after all.
*There’s tension between Tom and his father-in-law Martin. One witness noted that “Tom’s face falls when he sees Martin. Martin scowls at Tom. He can’t even crack a polite smile.”
*Katie thinks Suri is “treated too much like an adult” with all of the high heels and lipstick and lack of structure. Katie wants Suri to “have a normal childhood” and “mix more with children her own age.” Katie wants to give Suri more structure. Suri doesn’t even have a set bedtime, according to In Touch.
*Katie’s parents flew to Boston because “they aren’t very happy with Tom pressuring Katie to have another baby when she’s not ready.” Her parents also worry that Katie is becoming “increasingly isolated” and “stressed out”. I would add “robotic” and “zombie-esque” into the mix as well.
*Katie’s parents wanted her to bring Suri for a long visit in Ohio, but Tom “refused to let Katie go”. Katie is also depressed because she thinks about all of the friends she lost “when Tom came into her life”.
*And yet, Tom is afraid that if he doesn’t give in to some of Katie’s “demands” he might “lose” her. Yeah, right. Not until her contract it up.
*Katie is a lot happier with her mom. In Touch notes that on a recent outing with her mother, “Katie looked light years away from the sad-looking young woman she’d become in recent weeks.”
Eh. I think some of this may be true, especially the parts about Katie’s parents. I don’t think they were ever thrilled about the idea of their little girl becoming The Bride of Xenu. In Touch also makes a small note that Tom and Martin Holmes haven’t gotten along since before Tom and Katie were even married. Apparently, it stemmed from Martin wanting Katie’s pre-nup to be a lot more generous… for when her contract expires, I guess.

Kate is so lucky Tom can do whatever he wants and she can’t say nothing, can you say Yes master(laughing my a** off). And 11 yrs. with Tom Cruise for $52 million is a hugely nice amount for Katie. What her dad wanted Tom to go broke?, his career is already in the toilet. Hell if Chris Klein was worth that much she would of stayed with him and put up with all his bs.

I believe that Holmes’ parents don’t like Tom…but I don’t buy that Katie wants Suri to have a ‘normal childhood’, because Katie is the one who is not providing any structure for Suri in the first place. That’s what happens when you sign onto a cult that believes that children shouldn’t be disciplined because they are just adults in childrens’ bodies.
On the other hand….TOM CRUISE IS GAY!!!

the catholic vs scientology thing with the children’s education is one the problems tommy had with nicole.
Scientology doesn’t believe that children are children. They are thetans in a ‘new’ body. It is all ridiculous.
Katie is a well paid beard, just as Mimi and Nicole were. She will do her time and cash her check and maybe go have a normal life when her time on the land of Xenu is through

God, when their in public, can Tom stop with all the touching? He always seems to have his hand on her back, like he’s pushing her or at least afraid to let her go two steps away from him and walk on her own.
And WTH is Katie wearing? She said in another magazine article (was it Vogue?) that Tom picks her clothes for her. Do we need any more proof that he’s a complete batsh!t idiot?

man i feel bad for her. in to deep before she realized how dangerous the water was. and i think tom is a victim of his own insecurity as much as a victim of a cult. lets remember these people involved in cults are victims. they no longer have the ability to see what’s happening to them. they will look back on a ruined life if they ever can open their eyes.

I honestly do not think katie Holmes was EVER happy in her marraige. He appears to have altered her very nature.
Control freak does not even begin to cover it. When I see old movies/TV shows with her in them she exudes bubbly lighthearted innocence. Batman Begins was very different of her I mean.
There was an undeniable sadness/lonliness about her. It was so clear she had begun to change. I wish her and her daughter only the best. She is too good a person to be in this nightmare that IS TOM CRUISE!!!!! -
Katie was a grown woman when she jetted off to Europe and acted like a bride when she wasn’t even engaged. Her parents begged and pleaded with her not to marry Tom, but she was too bullheaded to listen.
Now that Katie has become world-known, thanks to her marriage, she claims to be unhappy. For Tom’s part, he’s a first class jerk. Nevertheless, I disagree with anyone who pities Katie. She got EXACTLY what she wanted!
Welcome to the real world, Katie. Maybe you’ve learned that valuable lesson, which is that EVERYTHING has its price.

Suri’s education? Hello, she’s 3. Let her enjoy her age as much as she can being a mini-scientologist. Poor kid. Wait til she’s a teenager she’ll be knocking heads with old Daddy Cruise.

Scientologists believe that little kids are like adult midgets. that they are adults in little-kid shells.
This is why being a kid in scientology sucks. Kids hate scientology, especially the abusive stuff. Lucky for Suri she probably won’t be sent into the sea org as a teenager, then raped.

Katie’s father is an attorney. Her brother is an attorney and did his undergraduate work at Harvard. Cruise is a bonafide high school dropout. He has the intellectual depth of a mud puddle and personality to match.
Although she probably reassures her family she’s just doing this for a career boost, I’m sure they worry for her, that her happiness is at stake, especially about issues to do with little Xenu, I mean Suri.

Tom needs to leave katie ..she is always neagative and frumpy looking and complining about a husband that goes out of his way to put up with her..in touch needs to stop making her a victim and realize that this horrid moping around in front of the cameras ..is so not right to act like that in public..katie wants her space good see ya katie will not miss that ungrateful attitude..

“At war” seems to be the go-to headline of choice for tabloids lately. I’m rarely sure it means anything at all.
