Uptight or not each family has their own customs and habits and this is not something that the Step-Girlfriend has within her perview. Also I would argue that uptight is not the same thing as modest. Shall we just eat with our fingers and belch in public because it is more "natural"? I certainly wouldn't want my courteous behavior towards others to come off as "uptight". Frankly I hear a lot about how Europeans are so relaxed in their attitudes toward nudity..fine with me but in case you haven't read the map lately, this is not Europe, if you don't like the attitude here then I welcome you to visit there with an eye toward immigration.
