I don't care that Ms Prejean hates gays. Well, I think it sucks, but she can feel what she feels and I'm okay with that. She can even spout nonsensical blurbs about gays and tolerance, and politics too. However, she doesn't get away with lying, walking out on a contract, and trying to shame or shout down anyone who disagrees. Especially the lying. And the pity party - she didn't lose the competition because of one answer. Perez wasn't the ONLY judge and even if he had been - if she was stupid enough to give that answer to a gay man she did deserve a win.
