I love Carnie and I love The Newlywed Game. I will probably even check out this show. But reality shows of any kind don’t belong on the Game Show Network. It’s a really bad fit and they risk losing their identity. They already slipped by running that gawd-awful Love Connection.

Sumodo, you do sound fun. But you will never get a show. You seem too well-adjusted. Not enough train-wreck factor. Well, maybe that’s what we need! A reality shiw starring some normal, nice people living life. I might watch that.(And I don’t watch reality shows).

I can’t relate to Carnie’s struggle with her weight, but I like her and I hope she whips herself back into shape. Seems really down to earth

I don’t know about this. Most reality shows are the kiss of death for the stars’ marriage. I think Carnie should be very careful about putting her family through something like this given the damage it has done to other families.

I love Carnie — I’ve read both her books, and she’s very down-to-earth, despite a famous life (and father).

I also love that when she met her husband, she was at her heaviest, and he’s literally been with her through thick and thin. She’s a beautiful woman and has a great personality. I think a reality show with her should be pretty entertaining.

@Alli- You would think so, but not necessarily. 20 yrs ago I was 30lbs heavier, and I decided to diet. While I was on this diet (which to me was DIE with a T on the end) I took up cooking, and particularly baking. I made cheesecakes, cookies, candies, sweet rolls, anything you could learn to bake, I made. Did I eat any of it? No. It was somewhat theraputic for me. Everyone around me was ticked off at me because while I lost weight, they gained from my baked goods. Maybe I was secretly trying to fatten them up.

I really thought the tide was going to at least START to turn with the you-know-who-plus-8 debacle, and that reality shows were going to change a bit. How naive of me to think that exposing the traumas and harm done to underage children when they are catapulted into gross invasions of privacy would change anything. The public cares enough to outcry, but not enough to stop watching.

(and @ sumodo – I really like your outlook and the way you maintain responsibility *and* contentedness, so I have no problem with grown up women having their own reality shows. Just not the kiddies.) :]
