Wendy Williams wasn’t at the final episode of her show, is planning a podcast

Wendy Williams has been on medical leave from her eponymous show since September. And she is still under that shady Wells Fargo-initiated financial guardianship until July. The whole situation is very strange and hopefully Wendy is doing as well as possible given the circumstances. However, it seems like Wendy has her next career move planned out? She told Billy Bush she’s going to do a podcast.

How you doin’, Wendy Williams, now that your talk show is over?

Well, the radio host-turned-TV personality, who was absent from her series finale on June 17 and the recent 13th season of her series, is set to begin a new media project, according to Extra. In a teaser video, host Billy Bush was depicted speaking on the phone with Williams and told the audience that she is “heading off into the world of podcasts, with iTunes.”

E! News has reached out to reps for Williams and Apple, which operates iTunes and Apple Podcasts, for comment and has not heard back.

In May, the U.K. newspaper The Sun quoted multiple sources as saying that William had received podcast offers. Williams’ rep had told E! News that month that the TV personality said she was “working on projects,” without elaborating.

Williams had been absent from The Wendy Williams Show since July 2021 and went on medical leave the following September. Sherri Shepherd, who filled in for her for most of this past 13th season, hosted the final episode.

[From E! Online]

It’s absolutely wild to me that The Wendy Williams Show had its series finale without an appearance from the actual Wendy Williams. That’s crazy, especially after 13 seasons. Anyway, if the podcast news is accurate, that sounds like a good option for her. There are no details about the topic or format, but in general a podcast seems like less pressure than being on camera. And also, less time-consuming, so she will have more time to deal with whatever she’s dealing with, including the financial guardianship, etc. Wendy hasn’t announced the podcast directly herself, but told Billy Bush on Extra, so I guess we’ll find out more in the near future. After all the turmoil, I think it bodes well that she’s lining up new projects instead of retreating. Wendy definitely can be controversial, but it seems like things have not been great for her recently and hopefully they stabilize soon.

I have to be honest, anyone else I might’ve felt sad for, but the years she spend ridiculing people and enjoying their pain.
When her life was a mess.

I wish her good health and a better future… just like I wish all the people she’s trashed, maligned and bullied over the years. She’s not a nice person, but I hope she gets herself right in all the important ways.

She started on radio so a podcast would be a good (better) fit. The fact she wasn’t on the final show is troubling -Like did she make it so toxic they couldn’t invite her? She definitely comes from an era where ridiculing especially celebrities was all the rage so she needs to tone down her judgy ness for today’s audiences.

Why on earth are we sending good thoughts out for this horrible woman?
