Bleach is very painful for an adult, I can't imagine what it must feel like on a toddler's skin. I saw his face after she had it done, he looked wrecked, like he had been crying hysterically. You know what a kid's face looks like after they've had a jag and his was swollen and raw. It broke my heart and made me want to kick her where it hurts. I thought she was a better mother than that. I did have a mate who used to give me shit for being a vego, he took it as a personal victory when I caved and became a carnivore again. But apart from him, I've never seen any meat eaters giving vegetarians a hard time. I don't understand, because I have literally NEVER seen it happen. I have seen people ask why, or if you miss a certain food, etc. All of which are natural questions, and even a good opportunity for veggies to express themselves. I think a lot of the hard feelings come down to language choice... too many vegetarians will say things like "Meat is disgusting" or something similar which does make it sounds as though one thinks the meat-eater is disgusting, too. It's such a small thing to be so worked up about, though; I really don't get it. Portman, however... different story. That one is renowned for alienating people, talking as though she is so much more evolved and intelligent. And I'm glad that the irony of the Polanski petition doesn't seem lost on anyone.
