  1. Love, love, love Reese. She is a “woman of worth, whose price is beyond rubies.” Great role model.

  2. You can’t really say Tyra and ANTM are jumping on that bandwagon, because they’ve done it before on the show. I can’t remember which cycle it was, but they had one where the girls were given new ethnicities through make-up magic.

  3. yeah ANTM gets away with that all the time.

  4. Is there a bandwagon?

That Vogue shoot (or whatever mag it was) was not blackface, by definition.
It was a model painted…a brown color.

  5. Does anyone even watch ANTM anymore?

  6. I do, unfortunately =/
It’s only out of habit though. That show has become beyond ridiculous.

  7. I still watch mainly because I’m fascinated by how the show becomes a little more about Tyra every week/season. Oops I mean “cycle”. I’m not positive but I’m pretty sure there is less footage of the models and more footage of Tyra in each cycle’s opening montage. Cracks me up!

  10. In the third or fourth cycle the models were different ethnicities for a milk ad. I used to love Top Model but like all shows, it started getting old a few years ago.

  11. I think people need to stop looking for things that are not there. There’s nothing offensive about using makeup to make a person look white, black or asian. I mean, if I wanted to dress up as Storm from the X-men for a Halloween party, is it inappropriate for me to use makeup to make my costume more realistic? Or should I only stick to dressing up as a white X-man?
I know it was a big deal a long time ago because of minstrels and the fact that in movies, Native Americans/Asians/Africans with speaking roles were given to white actors in bad makeup. But haven’t we already moved on from that?

Besides, it looks like it’s done in a tasteful manner, unlike the “Hey Hey It’s Saturday” clip from a few weeks back.

  12. Can’t wait ’til this header shot fades off into the bowel archives of CB. That model’s face is annoying and not beautiful. Did anyone else see the Tyra “fart smelling’ bit on the Soup this past week? Not only did she jump the shark, but the couch as well. I get the early hate Naomi Canpbell had for her.

  13. It’s not blackface…I’m really getting tired of this…Blackface is degrading and racist, these 2 photo shoots have been nothing of the short.
