I was very “meh” regarding her also until the VMAs. I think she killed it in a way we haven’t seen a pop star in a very long time. She has serious pipes and endurance. Love her and all her ‘fame’

Most professional singers before touring sing on treadmills.
This isn’t that amazing its just doing your job, part of which happens to be keeping your instrument in shape. Unlike pop stars, actual musicians don’t have backing vocal tracks to fall back on, so this is done in vain as a way of trying to convince people that she is an actual musician.
I don’t have a personal opinion on her, but I do think her music is terrible and shouldn’t even be called music. It is part of the reason why music has become an endangered species.
Psst, any of you that think she doesn’t have a backing track clearly don’t work in the business. She isn’t making any sort of acoustic based sounds, and with the actual concert set up, backing tracks are automatically part of the sound board and are therefore used.
I too wish for this terrible musical period to just end already.

Usually I think she’s weird-looking, but she looks really pretty here.

She won me over with the VMA performance too. I like that song anyway, and she killed it. It was definitely performance art.

oh, please, you can be interesting and non-cookie-cutter without looking like you’re on a bad acid trip. she is not going for fabulous, she’s going for shock value. BIG difference. i seriously think this girl has major issues and cannot wait for her 15 minutes to flare out. blech.

@DUB, yes, the gyroscope was ridiculous, but when she “Billy Joel-ed” it up, singing about New York and Saturday Night Live, that’s TALENT!
