After all the debate about soy and milk...I ran a new direction. I drink almond milk now. It's so good! I don't believe humans are meant to drink other animals' milk personally, because we naturally stop producing as much lactase as we age. I am lactose intolerant, myself. As far as soy, too much conflicting info (I love miso and tofu though).
I try to eat clean, but I know I risk eating too much corn (a whole other issue) and soy because of the American agricultural system. So, I try to stay away from knowingly ingesting these as much as I can. Almond milk all the way!!

Mairead: The typical Asian diet actually contains only a small amount of soy product. For instance, they don't drink soy milk, or eat tofu ice cream. When you get into that kind of consumption is when soy can become a problem.

Now back to Jeremy Piven - I can't believe they make thumbie thermals for men!

Well, it is actually possible because soy milk ups the estrogen in the human body, as does flax seed.

Maybe not working out contributed more so to the moobs, but soy milk, just like beer, increases estrogen levels in men.

Mairead, different ethnicities often have different food tolerances, so what works really well for one group may not for others. Also, is it part of their industrial food system the way it is ours?

The Pivert got confused by soy milk? Says it all really.

(Out of curiosity - is the negative impacts of soy because of our highly refined western diet. I mean, billions of Chinese and millions of Japanese can't all be wrong about tofu, can they? Apropos nothing, there is nothing better for rice pudding than soy milk imho)

Tazina said "Milk is horrible for humans."

No, milk is not horrible and in fact, diary farming has been part of humans' diet for eons, and it even predates agriculture.

What is horrible is what industrialized farming has done to cows by feeding them SOY and grain, loading them antibiotics and growth hormones, pasturizing the milk products (which kills healthy enzymes) and locking the cows in such small stalls they can't sit down or move. This is not how ruminant animals weren't meant to live and thus their products are inferior and even detrimental to human health.

Cows are meant to live outside and eat grass, which they convert into vitamin A, an essential element missing from so many people's diet.

Soy is a symptom of what industrialization has done to our food supply. Messed it up big time!

Oy Vey said: "Fermented and soy products like soy milk & tofu have been either fermented or heat processed which breakdown the isoflavones in the manufacture."

Oy Vey is partially right, but soy milk is NOT fermented.

I do not believe any information from the FDA. They spend $60 million per year on testing vaccines, and $1 BILLION on marketing them!

There is nothing wrong with butter. In fact, if it is from pasture raised cows (instead of SOY or grain fed cows) then it is a necessary source of vitamin A.

I still say Soy is nasty. It's an industry introduced food that has failed. It has made it's way into baby formula despite no testing. Soy formula provides the equivalent of one birth control pill per day. More information:
