First off, (not a rant, promise) the amount of training like they did in 300 will mess your body up. It puts an emense amount of strain on your body (i.e- chemicals that regulate your body’s metabolism, etc) And, just like when women gain weight they get stretch marks, it can happen to men as well, it’s unavoidable. He beefed up for 300 then obviously took some time off. This is the result of what everyone is calling his *moobs. I personally think he looks fantastic (also taking into account his age and slower metobolic rate). There aren’t many men around my office that look like that.

Looks like hes let him self go a bit! The training they did for 300 was pretty intense. But I suppose a multi million dollar movie contract is quite a bit of motivation!

I’ve been a huge fan of Ralph Fiennes since ‘Schindler’s List’ and saw Fiennes as ‘Coriolanus’ about 10 years ago at BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music). He performed with Linus Roach in the role of Tullus Aufidius, great performances all around. Fiennes directing Fiennes…this could prove interesting.

As far as Butler goes, I find Butler annoying to watch on screen. He’s done nothing but crap in the way of films lately. He’s tabloid fodder more than an actor these days. However, maybe under Fiennes’s expertise and direction Butler’s Tullus Aufidius could very well change my opinion of him. Let’s hope he doesn’t just grunt and scowl through this performance.

I don’t want to hear about Ralph Fiennes private life, I just want to watch him in whatever he does. Been in love with him since “The English Patient”. And “The End of the Affair” with Julianne Moore. Lovely movie.

Have to say Gerard is a bit of alright as well. I’m liking those sexy shoulders/arms.

Actually, Ralph is pronounced the same in Britain and America. In an interview at the actors studio (which is up on youtube actually), he says it’s an old-fashioned way of pronouncing it and that he was named after his granfather? I don’t remember exactly who. Anyway, there you go.
