@Alex. Agreed. It seems like there is this cool new feature on TVs nowadays that helps parents avoid their children seeing something they dont’ want them to see. It is called the power button.

I hate it when people blame “the TV” when they are letting it raise their children. It would be one thing if the ads for this show were being shown during Yo Gabba Gabba or something and they were OTT provocative.

Vote with your fingers, so to speak and don’t let the show be watched in your home if you have such a problem with it.

these parents are so stupid. IT’s A TV SHOW-it’s ENTERTAINMENT. if you don’t want your child engaging in those activities that are ACTED on TV, or if you don’t want your child to even see it, simply do not allow them to. or better yet, here’s a genious thought: TALK TO YOUR KIDS ABOUT IT. why is that so hard? blaming the media is such a old scapegoat that has been used by parents since the begining of media. if a child is that impressionable from the media that whatever these actors do on tv they’ll do, then you did a really horrible job of raising them.

I think that scene was really stupid. I think the producers were trying way too hard to be edgy in the 90210 premiere. I could suspend my imagination to think 1- they would do that in plain view and 2- Duncan is enough of a lady’s man to get a girl to agree to that.

But hey, I suspend my belief for Gossip Girl on the time, so maybe I’m bias. But I don’t think 90210 handled their edginess any better. It still was an adult/x-rated act that they eluded to on a teen show.

I love how you say she was ‘kind of boring in the interview’…. because it’s been since the first show that I just find her boring. She can have the most interesting story line and I just find her mono-tone whiney voice and nonchalant attitude towards everything to be dry ass boring. I don’t know, guess I am not a huge fan of her acting…I like her as a person in general. Since day one, immediately in my head I thought of Mischa Barton playing Marrissa Cooper on The O.C. …. I never thought that girl could act either. Just a personal opinion about acting abilities….

I truly am no prude, but Gossip Girl DOES have a lot of young girls who watch the show, and they have really had some rather irresponsible things on there the last few years: a mother sleeping with an underage guy, a teacher sleeping with a student, glorifying alcohol and drugs, making it look so glamourous by showing the kids in chic clubs dressed to the 9′s, all the while going to school the next day and making straight A’s.

Yeah, kids do all this stuff, but I really think GG has gone a bit too far to try to capture ratings and be edgy. Keep that kind of stuff on the more appropriate adult shows. If you are going to show things, do it in the vein of the old 90210 premise.

I no longer watch GG because it is really stupid. The first year it was kind of fun, then last year it got so stupid, I had to quit. Tried to watch it this year and I made it through maybe 1 episode before I decided to watch DWTS! You know something sucks if you end up watching DWTS!
