Chris Brown failing to fill even small venues on latest tour

How many stories have I started off by sarcastically saying “Poor Chris Brown”? I don’t think I’m capable of any other intro. It just bums me out so badly when stuff doesn’t go right for him, you know? Why does bad stuff happen to sh*tty people? In that vein, dear Chris really isn’t feeling the love from his fans. Maybe because his fans don’t love him anymore? Thus he doesn’t have many fans? Once in a while it’s clear he’s got about four fans left, from the occasional comments they leave on our Chris Brown stories. Hey Chris, if you really want to know where your fans are, I can give you their ISPs. You can do an intimate performing session with your only remaining true believers. Because you sure aren’t selling out the concerts.

Looks like Chris Brown’s past might haunt him “Forever.” The scorned singer is attempting a comeback with his “Fan Appreciation” tour, which kicks off next week, but he hasn’t had much luck filling even the small venues he’s set to perform in. The gigs – which start at the House of Blues in Houston on Nov. 14 and end in the Big Apple’s Nokia Theater on Dec. 15 – aren’t even close to sold out. In fact, anyone who’s interested can still purchase up to 50 tickets at a time for Brown’s opening night.

“This is definitely not the outcome [Chris’ label] Jive Records hoped for,” says an industry exec, adding that the poor ticket sales are surely a result of Brown’s now-infamous altercation with Rihanna in February. “Chris lost a lot of fans after he assaulted Rihanna. And after that whole scandal, he’s not exactly kid-friendly. What parent would buy their children tickets to his concert?” Brown’s agent, meanwhile, says he’s not worried about the sluggish sales. “Dates are expected to sell out,” insists the flack, “and given the economic climate, ticket sales are doing very well.”

But another industry insider says the tour may be premature, considering Brown’s “Graffiti” album doesn’t drop until Dec. 8. “Had this tour fallen on the heels of a smash album, compared to his climbing single ‘I Can Transform Ya,’ ticket counts might have been better,” says the source. That logic may explain why the release of “Graffiti” has been pushed up a week – it was originally slated for a Dec. 15 debut. “This may be Jive’s way of boosting Chris’ head count for the Manhattan show,” says the music insider. “The turnout at Nokia is pretty crucial. If he can get a big crowd in New York City, it’ll be a good sign that he can regain control of his career.”

I get that this wasn’t what Brown’s label was hoping for, but didn’t they realize this is what would probably happen? I really hope I can eat at McDonald’s three times a day without consequences, and I try to keep positive thoughts in my head, but I’m normally not acting all shocked when the scale cracks a few days later. Keep your expectations rational and realistic, people. Here’s a thought to Jive: maybe drop Chris Brown. He’s a sinking ship, and he wants to bring you all down with him.

I am super psyched to see what the Billboard charts look like the week Brown’s album debuts. I’m sure it’ll be in the top 100, but it’d make me really happy if it didn’t crack the top 20. It’s too bad, because the guy did have talent. But temper trumps talent.

Awwwww poor baby! That mean old RiRi, and what she did to this poor, innocent, talented widdle wamby!

She should get another beat down for ruining this young man’s career with her disgusting lies and half truths! She is an abuser who asked for it.

I hope Chris finds a way to hang in there and get his fans back once they realize what a terrible woman she was and how she did this so she could have all the attention to herself!

  2. Praise St. Angie! says:

I hope he has to cancel the tour due to poor ticket sales.

but even if he does, his PR rep will blame something else.

  3. Iggles says:

Looks like Chris Brown’s past might haunt him “Forever.”

    This line is PERFECT!
I got an insanely huge grin at reading this headline. Between that and Riri saying, “That’s embarrassing that that’s the type of person that I fell in love with,” — this day has me laughing!

  4. Beth says:

If he has to cancel a tour in arenas that are 1000-2000 capacity, that really shows his career is in the crapper. I used to like Chris but his attitude has really turned me off. I think he’s just 20 or 21 so that may partly explain his idiocracy. Or his pr team really sucks.

  5. Vermithrax says:

“I Can Transform Ya” – really? Into what… a bruised, beaten reflection of your former self?
    Suck it Chris Brown.

  6. K-MAC says:

Chris Brown is goin’ down….(I know, overplayed, but I just cannot help but smile).

RiRi, stand strong…..so many people got BIG LOVE for you!!!!!

  7. Ron says:

Didn’t the same thing happen to Ike Turner? His image is tarnished…… Forever.

Oh, does he need a tiny violin? *sniff*

    Karma’s a BITCH ASSWIPE!!!!!

  10. Iggles says:

Yes. I love at least for now the trolls are nowhere in sight. Chris Brown, really this couldn’t have happened to a sweeter guy.. Go Riri!!

  11. Juice In LA says:

Let’s just hope the juggernaut that is Beat Down’s karma keep rollin’ over his career until its as dead and flat as roadkill. (Do juggernauts “roll”?)

  12. n says:

    he did Bully pretty well;
now let’s see if he can NOT do Mr. Bitter?

guess it’s time Chris grew up.

  13. california angel says:

I can’t help but notice since the incident that, in all his pics, he has an inherently angry expression on his face.

  14. Neelyo says:

Vermithrax took the words out of my mouth. That was my first thought too.

  15. Ashley says:

He looks like a discount version of Kanye.

  16. murmur says:

His attitude after the beating was almost more appalling to me than the actual beating.

    The two together are unforgivable.

  17. Anonymous says:

Oh, he can “Transform Ya,” alright. All the way to the hospital!
Shameful. I agree with murmur – what is it he said to the Rolling Stone? “I am sorry for what I did, WHATEVER IT IS?” Please, sit down.

  18. Mel says:

    haha!

  19. Huma says:

McDonald’s is nasty; I can’t even think about their food without gagging.

We need to find you a better fast food place, Jay.

  20. flourpot says:

    YAY!

  21. fizXgirl314 says:

I’m starting to feel a little bad for this guy… the backlash has been intense…

not super bad mind you… just a little… like i might buy some discount cheese if he put his name on it…

I hate men who abuse women but I also don’t think this situation represents what the common woman faces… namely, anonimity, lack of resources and little support… so it’s hard to draw parallels… I kind just feel like she can get over it by taking a few very tropical vacations… she can side step the women’s shelter unlike most other women in this situation…

    I’m over it :/

  22. Ron says:

Just because Rhianna is rich and famous makes it easier for her to be battered? There’s some logic. My mother, my sister and I were all battered and beaten by my very upstanding father and we lived in a very nice, wealthy country club neighborhood and let me tell you, it did not make it easier. Did Tina Turners beatings look easier to you becuase she was rich and famous? Socioeconomic status has no bearing on being a victim of a violent crime.

  23. flourpot says:

    Well spoken, Ron.

  24. jaundicemachine says:

    Ha-HA!! /Nelson

  25. Iggles says:

Sigh, I knew the troll free status wouldn’t last long.

Anyway, I agree with Ron. Excellent response.

  26. Bek says:

I don’t feel bad for him at all. The only way I’d ever buy a ticket is so I could help boo him right off the stage. He got off way too light. Anybody else would probably be in jail for at least a few months. Poor ticket sales and fans who hate him are the least he deserves. And Rhianna’s money should help her quit whining? I don’t understand the logic there. I hope I have a Franklin in my pocket when my boyfriend hits me. Then it will feel like candy.

  27. GatsbyGal says:

I cannot WAIT to see Chris Brown, say, 15 years from now. Pot-bellied, balding, dumpy, and washing rich people’s cars for a living – every day a constant reminder of how much he could’ve had had he only stayed his hand and took a deep breath.

  28. Madchen says:

“She can get over it by taking a few very tropical vacations…?”

fizXgirl314, you’re right about Rhianna having more resources and support, but please enlighten yourself about the trauma of abuse. Your comment is simplistic and a little ignorant.

  29. Kerri says:

Such a sad and unfortunate turn of events – i really didn’t see it coming – LMAO.

I guess Chris will have to find a regular job like the rest of us. I do hope that he finished high school and didn’t bank on this singing career for the rest of his life.

  30. Eileen Yover says:

Good response Ron-unfortunetly spoken right from the heart and from someone who’s been there.
I wasn’t physically abused but I was verbally abused all the way until I was 28 and finally cut my mother out of my life. No amount of vacations or money is going to take away the pain of abuse from someone who suppose to love you. No matter who it is-boyfriends, family member, and husbands included. Its a sick and devious relationship that can involve anyone, even the strongest of individuals.

  31. Kevin says:

I saw while watchng MTV today that they are gonna give Chris some on air interview to try and explain stuff. From the little I saw, the only thing he is sorry about is his fall from grace, nothing else.

  32. filthycute says:

    Three words:

    *ahem*

    Ha. Ha. HA.

  33. la chica says:

can his career die already? please?

  34. gg says:

Not fast enough. He needs to enroll in bootcamp.

  35. Iggles says:

i think they should both be beat like there ancestors when things were good and those people acted right

  36. Jag says:

The title makes me so happy. 😀
