Why are people raging on her because she said the song was for her clothing line?? The only reason she MADE the LP, not EP, WAS FOR the clothing line with Max Azria. I mean, the CD only had 4-5 songs on it. It was PURELY promotional. The CD was released exclusively at Wal-Mart where the clothing line was being sold. She was telling the truth. And to be honest, most 16-17 year olds don't know about rappers from back in the day. Yes, Jay-Z counts. What kids her age know now are Soulja Boi, Drake, and Lil' Wayne. Rappers like Jay-Z, Memphis Bleak, Ice Cube and even Snoop Dogg to some extent, just aren't as popular with that age group anymore. If you're a rapper and your songs don't have a dance to it (a lá "Stanky Leg") it's unlikely you'll be reach teenagers that young unless you actually LOVE rap. And she grew up in Tennessee, her family and her growing up surrounded her with country music. I'm truly not surprised if she doesn't know a Jay-Z song. Yeah, she might know the "Can I Get A...." chorus but she probably doesn't realise who is who. My roommate in college (She was from Murfressboro, TN) freshman year 4 years ago didn't even know who Lauren Hill or Nas was. The men all sounded alike to her. At first I was taken aback. She couldn't even name a song by Tupac. But then again, I couldn't tell the difference between a Shania Twain song and a Faith Hill song. We both educated each other Give her a break.
