Suri Cruise, trendsetter, shows off silver leggings & a jaunty umbrella

infphoto_1108402

We all know Suri Cruise is a trendsetter. She was rocking monochromatic styles before Brad Pitt could even dye his newsboy cap. She was doing daytime princess gowns before Blake Lively. Suri knows instinctively when an ensemble will be ruined by a bulky coat. Suri knows it’s never to early to learn how to walk in pumps. She also isn’t afraid of some bright pink lipstick, which is genius - she lets all women know that pink is back, in a big way. As is ice cream. And Suri will bring back the hair-in-the-face Veronica Lake look if it kills her.

So, what’s in style this week for our little trendsetter? Get out your pencils, ladies! Suri has declared silver leggings paired with knee-length dresses, with some comfortable, lady-like flats to be the order of the day. Accessories? A jaunty umbrella and a tantrum, of course.

If you happen to be stuck in a wardrobe rut, look to Suri Cruise for answers.

Today, Suri teaches us how to take one look from daytime to night.

Take this hot pink dress, purple sweater and metallic silver leggings. Sure it works for flying in your helicopter from Boston to New York City (did we mention how relatable Suri is?), but say you want to quickly dress it up for a fancy dinner and night out on the town. How would you do that?

Let Suri show you how!

Obviously, the first thing to do is wear shoes. Maybe even a pair of fancier flats that have little bows on the back—just not heels because that really upsets people.

After that, Suri traded in the comfy purple sweater for a gray and hot pink number that really ties everything together better.

Finally, do not forget something a little showy like a Disney princess umbrella. Who cares if there’s no sun and it’s not raining—it’s always good to have something that helps you stand out from the crowd.

And that’s the Suri Cruise method to make an easy transition from daytime officewear to dinner with a client.

Too cute. Suri and Katie were coming back to New York after a brief visit with Tom in Boston. Katie had to come back to New York, where Katie was due at The Romantics set, where she seems to have spent some time filming scenes with Anna Paquin. I’m sure Tom is going to miss his girls while they’re away!

  1. man I really just dislike stories about little kids with a passion… I didn’t want to say hate with a passion because there’s still a certain amount of cuteness to it… But I would sooo rather they just didn’t write about them at all… why does a grown adult need to comment about a child anyway?

  2. Katie surprises me sometimes with how pretty she can look with some makeup on. Suri is so adorable.

  3. “Too cute,” you say? Really???!! I see an insufferable adolescent girl ahead. Helicopter rides and silver leggings….she probably has a stylist even. Only way to remedy this spoiled situation is to put this Suri to work in a soup kitchen in eight years time. Some perspective. Okay, my rant is over.

  4. Suri is super cute, and you can say she has the X factor down to the slash, but she does look like she can throw a major tantrum and will not be doing what her papa tells her. I wonder if she will stick to her papa’s beliefs when she is older, because she looks like she has a mind of her own.

  5. I am sorry, but that child looks like she is going to be a nasty, spoiled adult.

There is something very strange about that girl and I can’t put my finger on it. She is cute enough, but there is something odd beneath the surface. Kind of like The Omen.

  6. The coverage of this kid is sooo stupid, just like her parents!

Firestarter, I tend to agree on the “strange” factor.

did you see the pics that (I think?) MichaelK posted yesterday? The ones where she appears afraid of the other little girl she encounters?

poor thing apparently has ZERO interaction with kids her own age.

  8. @Praise St.Angie- No, I will have to check them out. If I were a kid, I would be terrified to be that girl’s friend. Hell, she scares me! : )

  9. I feel so sorry for this tiny little teacup human, maybe it’s because she’s is a toddler dressed in miniature adult clothing paraded in front of the cameras. Maybe it’s because she’s going to be old before her time, or maybe it’s because of the unanswered questions regarding her father and the Scientology connections.

  10. She is a total cutie. Her seeming lack of interaction with kids her own age bothers me too. (I say “seeming” because, I don’t know, maybe she does play with other little kids.) I can’t stand Tom or Katie, but I don’t have kids & wouldn’t tell a parent how to raise theirs, but I could totally see her turning into a huge brat.

  11. Speaking of omens: No good will come from sacrificing the privacy and innocence of this child.

…Cruise and Katie are using Suri to pump up their careers…..like the Gosselins.

  13. I agree, fizXgirl314. commenting about toddlers is absurd. it’s a baby for god sakes… it eats, sleeps and poops…

  14. She looks really cute in the other link. Actually child like.

I don’t think she is afraid, I think she was excited and then a bit shy.

  16. I have to agree, I am just not that interested in celebuspawn.

Suri, however, interests me because I know she is hell on wheels. Every kid I have ever seen with that same look has been a mini monster, and way beyond that of what a child should be.

I envision both Tom (since he is so close in height to her) and Katie terrified of doing anything that Suri doesn’t like.

  17. I am so tired of hearing about this kid. Isn’t she almost 4 years old? –and she’s still being carried? Oh, but she can walk in heels, right?

  19. JMHO - but when it comes to comments about Suri photos - you all make me sick! I can’t get enough of her or any other beautiful child (which they all are). Your feelings about a child are horrifying.

  20. @Alexa- you need to calm down. They are comments and certainly harmless, as Suri is not on the web right at this moment reading them. Or maybe she is……

agree, she does look shy, but consider this…

how shy does she look when she’s standing in the ice cream store window making faces and posing for the passers-by and the photographers?

adults and others (like paparazzi) staring at her she’s used to…to the point that she “performs” for them.

but put another little girl in her face (and yes, wearing the same shoes) and she shies away? I think it says a lot about who she usually interacts with. (HINT: NOT other children.)

I mean, I’ve see shy kids, and they’re shy with EVERYBODY, not just other kids.

  22. You know, Alexa, I understand where you’re coming from. The thing is, her parents put her out there constantly for media attention. Constantly. If they want her protected from public scrutiny, they have to not tote her around getting papped all the time. It’s a double-edge knife: if you want the publicity that the precious little darling brings, you pay the price by letting the mean ol’ gossip community snark.
If Suri doesn’t like it, she can take it up with her parents.

  23. @Firestarter - or “The Orphan”.

Suri is adorable, but she is bound to be a little bratty - which will lead to her more than likely being a stuck up little socialite snob when she gets older.

I think I’m sick of all celebrity kids too. In fact, I’m sick of celebrity clothing lines, celebrity cook books, celebrity family secrets revealed. Can we just stick with good old classic celebrity mug shots, fashion and on set affairs please? :-)

  24. Oy Vey, who cares what “suri wears”? Why is this news? She looks the same as any other spoiled child who gets whatever she wants! Tell her mother to buy her a brush and brush that ratty hair. By paying all this attention to a non-entity little child is why they grow up to be insecure freaks and knock over convenience stores.

  25. SICK OF CELEBUSPAWN. There should be $0 for paps taking shots of kids. BTW, Suri needs to eat a sandwich and get her hair cut. At this rate, she’ll end up skinny as a rail, with stringy, thin hair. Oh, and a little fresh air, sunshine, a puppy, friends her own age, going to a farm to feed chickens and ponies, homemade cookies, getting messy in the yard, a bike with training wheels…oh, I could go on! (Hoping my sister is reading this) Just like we had!

I really want to see that movie! Evil kid movies scare me more than anything. I still have nightmares over The Omen!

    re: the Orphan…

I read a review that included the “twist” in the story, and all I can say is…

…don’t see it. You’ll probably be disappointed.

when I read what the twist is (there was a spoiler warning) I was SO glad I had opted not to see it.

(and I LOVE horror movies, too. Omen included.)

Agreed, she will be a terror, and agreed it’s TMI about celbuspawn.

  35. @kristiane : That is a good point. We hardly saw any photos of Tom’s children with Nicole when they were growing up. In fact you see more of Suri in one week than any of Isabella and Conner when they were the same age. There was a quote that Tom made when Katie was pregnant about” how excited he was to finally become a father” Always wondered how Isabella and Conner felt about all the attention Tom was making over Suri. It is like they are being pushed aside because they were adopted

  36. I may not like coverage of kids in general (they did not ask to be celebs) but to call a child creepy, evil, strange is taking it too far. Maybe she is not reading this blog but it is still wrong to attack a helpless child who has done nothing to you. Just think about it and try to be humane.

  38. Firestarter, I have thought the same thing about Suri looking strange. I think that she has no social skills. I have never seen a picture of her playing or talking with another child!
Why does Katie drag her from store to store?? Sometimes, she looks so bored & tired!!
