I hate to say this but it’s official: America has no taste. Or rather, a certain 3.2 million Americans have no taste, and they should be totally and completely ashamed of themselves. Sunday’s big 2 hour “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” episode beat “Mad Men’s” series finale in the ratings. Which is epically disgusting.
Season three of “Mad Men” ended with strong ratings– but not enough to outdo E!’s special wedding episode of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.”
Sunday’s “Mad” finale attracted 2.3 million viewers to AMC, a 33 percent increase over last season’s ending episode. The closer was off from the season three premiere, which brought in 2.8 million viewers in August. Among adults 18-49, “Mad” drew just over 1.1 million viewers, a whopping 56 percent increase over the season two finale. AMC also wants you to know that “Mad Men” remains the most upscale series on basic cable, with fully half of its adults 25-54 audience pulling down more than $100,000 per year.
Meanwhile, over in the always happy land of E!, the Kardashians kontinue to kill in the ratings. A two-hour wedding episode, airing from 8-10 p.m., drew nearly 3.2 million viewers– the most in “Keeping Up” history. It also scored a massive 3.92 rating among women 18-34, becoming the most-watched E! broadcast ever in that demo.

“Mad Men’s” finale was spectacular, by the way. One of their very best episodes. I’m not going to even pretend I could sit through “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” But I know the general outline: big fake wedding for T.V. At least it was fake at the time, since Khloe and Omar hadn’t agreed on their pre-nup yet. How romantic. Oh and Khloe’s thrilled that the show got such high ratings. And surprised. Because she really wanted it to be a private, small event.
The pair were on “Chelsea Lately” and were actually surprisingly charming. Well, Lamar was charming. Khloe was still a Kardashian, and blurted out a bunch of stupid and rude things randomly. Like when Chelsea Handler said her gift to them was in the mail, Khloe said, “What’s the deal with that, why didn’t you just bring it to the wedding?” To which Chelsea replied that she was waiting for them to finalize their pre-nup. Classic. Lamar said that he wanted to get working on making babies right away, and Khloe seemed surprised but said alright. Oh and they’re thinking about their own reality show, but right now they’re super busy trying to find a house, which can be hard when you have too much money at your disposal.

i saw the chelsea interview the night it aired. Is it just me or does Khloe come off as insecure, bitchy, and jealous? Looks like Lamars track record is catching up. How can you marry someone w/ out knowing whether or not you want kids, etc. Lame.

Well E is free and you have to pay for extra for Showtime. Maybe that has alot to do with why Man Men wasn’t number 1.

I’m with ligeia. I’m not going to lie and pretend like I haven’t watched more than my fair share of Keeping up with the Kardashians, but I couldn’t stomach the wedding. Had to turn it off.

I have to admit, I am one of the tastless Americans who watched the “Di & Charles wedding of our century”, and I had nightmares all night. (Of Khloe and her preggers sister. I’m not kidding…their faces, hair and eye makeup kept flashing, close up at me as I slept, or tried to.)

at first, i didn’t find Lamar attractive, but now that i watched the wedding, i can see he is very attractive, but i’m not sure why. he’s the kind of guy who gets better looking the more you look.
they look happy in the shot above.
one thing i didn’t like in the wedding show was when Khloe used baby talk to tell Lamar she loved him. stop with the baby talk, Khloe! it’s apt to turn his stomach in no time! it’s not cute — not one bit.

Why people WHY??!! I stay as far away from those nasty hos (is it “hoes” or hos”?) as I possibly can. I won’t even scroll through the channel when they are on in fear it might count as a rating for that show. It makes me ill to think that this is what we are teaching kids today: “Work real hard, let some guy film having sex with you and pee on you and maybe you too can be a successful star one day!”

Paris Hilton and the Kardashians (among others) aren’t all that stupid. After all, they get free press, nice paychecks and all the perks that go with it without having to drop a dime or break a finger nail. No doubt they are having a good laugh at our expense while possibly poking fun that the sad and pathetic schmoes who hang onto and/or eat up just about morsel written, aired and/or said about them!
And then there are the media and bloggers who make a nice living from it as well.
For a country that can now just barely mass produce a decent car anymore, we’ve gotten darn good at cranking out BS on all levels. Keep the masses stupid. Face it, there are people out there more than happy to cash in on it! Ah-hem.
BTW, I spent Sunday watching “Mad Men” as well. Does that make me superior? No–not really. It just means spent my Sunday evening wisely!

Khloe is hideously ugly. There, I said it. And I’ve never heard her speak (thank Christ), but I can only imagine the asinine shit that comes out of her mouth. Just a train wreck on every possible level.
Ps: Does anyone here watch “In Treatment”? I’m a recent convert and am dying to hear other people’s take on the characters. (This is probably the wrong forum for that, but oh well.)

I feel bad for Khloe always being called ugly. While she’s no where near as attractive (ugh i can’t believe i said that) as her sisters. By herself she’s not too horrible. (you may skewer me for the next part) Compare her to Susan Boyle and Khloe is gorgeous. however she’s always near her sisters who while attention whores and they should all be stopped-are much prettier.

“Does anyone here watch ‘In Treatment’?” I love In Treatment. Gabriel Byrne and Dianne Wiest are so good. As for the characters, some I was fascinated by, others I found annoying. Are you just on the first season?
I have to say I’m amazed that anyone, much less 3.2 m people, watch the Kardashians. I watch a lot of junk on TV, but the Kardashians are beyond the pale.

Im not a stuiped person,and even though I know they are dumb hoes[hos?]I watched the wedding.I like to watch this crazy family.Ennie,I agree I didnt like Lamar at first,but since I have watched him w/ Khloe I like him alot.Good for them even though it probably wont last,also did you see the preveiws for next season?What do you make of Khloe slapping Scott and Rob fighting him?Do you think he cheated on Kourtney?

I agree with Jaybird the mad men season finale was spectacular. It was a fantastic season. Why, oh wh, aren’t even more people watching this show! It is one of the best television series EVER! I encourage everyone to rent the DVD’s and catch up on this series before season 4 starts next summer. Team Mad men 4ever!

Coming to Khloe’s defense somewhat–I find her very pretty, and I think she’s intelligent and articulate. Yes, I’m addicted to that trainwreck of a show. Their mother is a dead ringer for a good friend of mine, which I find fascinating. What disturbs me to no end is those girls talking about “boning” all the time–even in front of their parents. How crude, slutty, and classless can they get.

Fantastic website and thanks for the info. It appears to be pretty difficult to locate the world cup shirts in the US. Most stores don’t have them. The internet seem to be a fantastic location to be a buy what you are looking for.
