Shooting on Brad and Angelina’s street has Angelina vowing to leave

The tabloids are buzzing with the news that there was a shooting on Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s street in the Los Feliz neighborhood of LA last week. No one was harmed, and Brad and Angelina and their kids weren’t home, but a van parked outside their compound that is sometimes used by their security team has a bullet hole in the window. It is not thought that the shooting was specifically targeted at Brad or Angelina or anyone in their security detail.

The National Enquirer reports that Angelina is shaken and scared after the shooting and considers the neighborhood unsafe. They say she’s vowing to leave Hollywood as a result, but they mean that she doesn’t want to return to their mansion there, not that she’s going to quit acting. But isn’t it about time for that year-long sabbatical she said she was taking anyway?

The late November gunplay was a random incident, and police insist the violence had no connection to the stars, but [Angelina] says it reinforces her feelings about how dangerous the neighborhood is - and that she wants out of Los Angeles, say sources.

“Brad, Angelina and the kids weren’t home at the time, but one of their bodyguards dove for cover during the nearby attack,” revealed an insider. “When she heard about what happened, Angelina was shocked, shaking and open-mouthed as one of the bodyguards recounted the incident.

“Brad used to feel his compound in the Hollywood Hills area was relatively safe, but he can no longer convince Angelina of it. She wants out for good!”

The Enquirer goes on to say that the family will live in New Orleans instead of LA for the foreseeable future.

In Touch takes another angle on the maybe-random drive-by, saying that Shiloh is being kept inside for her own protection since we haven’t seen her in paparazzi photos since October. The other kids have to get out because they go stir crazy if they’re inside all day. Supposedly there have been threats against the family, but In Touch could just be referring to those old rumors that Al Quaida is out to get Angelina after she did that Mighty Heart movie. Considering how well Mighty Heart did at the box office, she’s probably in the clear now.

Brad and Angelina are shown at the Mayweather-Hatton boxing match in Las Vegas on 12/8/07. They went to the event with Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale, who are in one of these pictures outside a limo, but you have to look hard to see them and Gwen’s face is hidden behind Brad. I blew up that part of the picture to show them. Thanks to Splash News for these pictures.
