He is a disgrace and a poor example of a human. He gets the whilies when he hears a door close-please. He should be apologizing constantly for what he did to his friend.

What I meant was that you hang out with people that are friends and are generally like you and have similar interests. Given we know NH is big on the fast dangerous driving it is not a stretch for me to believe that the good friend with him was having fun until the accident. And that then it becomes a little more an example of being party to something that went horribly wrong. That is the impression I got from reading (only on gossip sites) about the accident at the time. Two friends out together, one driving and clearly at fault - but the other wittingly along for the ride. The driver is responsible but there is a difference - legally and morally - if someone chose to take part in risky behaviours. In this case getting in a car that was being driven recklessly for fun. As NH appaently always did.

There was an accident where I live a few years ago that I had a vague connection to the people involved , which gives a reasonable parallel - 7 kids out at a party decided to go somewhere. Not enough seats, two girls hopped into the boot. There was an accident and the girls died. The driver is responsible for what happened - as drivers we all know that. But the girls did choose themselves to be there, they weren’t forced or anything. And the sentencing took that into account. A horrible event for all concerned.

This is where I was coming from with my post. Not saying that NH wasn’t responsible, but that - as far as I know, and I think we would have heard if it were otherwise - JG was a party to the thing that caused the accident.

Also, how do we know the dude didn’t want to get out when the driving got dangerous? We don’t.

Nick Hogan had gotten numerous tickets prior to this accident for speeding and careless and imprudent driving. I have not read where John was in the same shape ticket wise.

The bottom line is, Nick should have known better. He chose to drive in a manner which was against the law and caused an accident that resulted in the serious injury of another human being. The law states that is a crime, and for that crime you serve time in jail. Had he hit and hurt someone else in another car to the extent that he did his friend, would people still think it was the fault of the other person. Nick Hogan drove like a moron and the punishment he got he deserved, actually, he got less than what he deserved. While his friend has no quality of life left whatsoever, Nick served a few months, not years in jail, and gets to resume his spoiled brat entitled life as if nothing ever happened. Who gives a f*** if he has nightmares of jail? What did he go through that was so horrific to his delicate psyche? Not get to hang out at ritzy hot spots? Dress like a little rich douche bag? Drive around in his fancy cars? Hang out with stupid girls? What happened to him that doesn’t happen to any other person serving time in jail? Actually, he had it better than most people who serve time in jail.

So I for one, do not care how he feels or what trauma he is suffering. It doesn’t compare to the suffering of his friend and his friends family, who the Hogan’s have been absolutely despicable to since this whole thing happened!

Don’t worry, not going to say Nick Hogan is anything other than eloquently described already. My ‘but’ comes in at didn’t the friend choose to be invovled in the same douchbag driving? Not that I am an avid follower (shudder) but I don’t rem anyone saying “.. and JG was never into fast wanky driving and was begging to be let out” - did I miss something? Obviously nobody deserves what has happened to him but I imagine since they were bosom pals that JG was totally into it too. Not the driver, granted, but party to the outing. NickH was well known for his penis extension (fast flashy car) fixation, so I imagine the friend was too. So unlucky - absolutely, with horrific lifelong ramifications for family as well, awful story. Unless I am missing something though it isn’t quite like “innocent all american soldier steps off the footpath and gets mown down by hooligan driver.”
