Are Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn back together? Our gossipy selves sure hope so. The National Enquirer is absolutely sure of it, and they’ve done some Pulitzer-level reporting (as far as tabloids go).

Note by Celebitchy: “When I first read this headline I thought it must be one of those bullshit made up articles that’s all too common in the gossip magazines. Those articles are usually based on little more than insider quotes and a chance meeting and awkward conversation. With Jen and Vince, though, the Enquirer has dates, times and places of multiple romantic dinners and meet-ups that took place between the former co-stars in the past two months. I really believe they’re back together.”

Instead of vague generalizations, the Enquirer notes:

During a late-night date at The Terrace on Nov. 30, Jen walked in at 10 p.m. with a woman and two men. They took a table, an Vince came in alone five minutes later. “Jennifer lit up in a delighted smile,” revealed a fellow diner. “She was obviously thrilled to see Vince. Jen was cute in a black shirt and jeans and very little makeup. Her hair is shorter these days, just brushing her shoulders. Vince was in a button-down shirt and gray sweater. They had a leisurely dinner, with Jen giggling quietly at Vince’s jokes.” Added the eyewitness: “At first, Jen was reserved. But as she relaxed, she suddenly darted around the table, sat in Vince’s lap and gave him a big kiss. Her friends left, and she climbed into Vince’s car with him, smiling and waving as they pulled out.”

They go on to give several more dates, times, and locations of sightings. It’s hard to explain why sometimes we think a story is true. Sometimes you just want a story to be true because it’d be awesome [JayBird hangs head sheepishly… Tara Reid with crazy stomach bolts… no excuse], and sometimes you know it’s just total bull. But when tabloids actually back stories up with dates and locations, it definitely adds to the credibility.

If the pair are together, I really hope Vince’s head has cleared up since last time. Reasonable people will disagree, but it always seemed to me that he didn’t really appreciate Jennifer. I don’t want to agree with a lot of people who said, “He’s bloated, he’s got a receding hairline, she can do better,” etc. BUT he seemed to be like, “I’m with Jennifer Aniston, whatever. I’m going to blow her off all the time and never acknowledge we’re even in a relationship.” I had more of a problem with that, than with her being too good for him. But the media also portrayed Jennifer as desperate to get married and always pestering Vince about it. Who knows if that was the truth, or just what people assume was likely. I really don’t believe that she’s as baby crazy and marriage desperate as everyone seems to think. Either way, I kind of hope they’re back together, and maybe the time and space has given them some clarity and they can find some happiness now.
