Prince William & Kate are attending Crown Prince Hussein’s wedding in Jordan

The Crown Prince of Jordan’s wedding is happening today, likely as you’re reading this. Crown Prince Hussein – the 28-year-old son of King Abdullah and Queen Rania – will marry Rajwa Alseif at Zahran Palace in Amman. For weeks, royal-watchers have been talking about the guest list for the wedding, which will include many European royals and international dignitaries, given Jordan’s historic ties and allies within Europe and the West. But before now, we didn’t know that the Prince of Wales and Princess of Wales had flown to Amman to attend the wedding as well.

This is happening during William and Kate’s kids’ school break, which is also why Will and Kate have been in the wind for a week – they’ve been on vacation, but I guess their kids are staying with the Middletons for a few days while the Waleses attend the royal wedding of the season.

Per People Magazine, William and Kate are far from the only significant royals in attendance. Also in Amman: “Queen Margrethe, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden, Princess Hisakoa of Japan and her daughter Princess Tsuguko, Crown Prince Haakon of Norway, Prince Sébastien of Luxembourg and King Philippe and his daughter Princess Elisabeth of Belgium, King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima and Princess Catharina-Amalia of the Netherlands.” Dr. Jill Biden has also flown in for the wedding ceremony. (Jordan is a major strategic partner for the US, and King Abdullah has been a good ally to many American presidents.)

While the religious service will take place at Zahran Palace, the reception is being held at Al Husseiniya Palace. I would imagine that the royal court will release wedding photos, but I wonder if we’ll get any reception photos. I wonder if You-Know-Who will wear white to another woman’s wedding. Again.

I’m honestly surprised they didn’t send W&K on more of these types of visits even when Duke and Duchess of Cambridge; rather, it was usually Sophie and Edward who went. I believe this is Kate’s first time visiting the middle east in an official capacity.

wonder if this will be a tiara event?

    • Nic919 says:

I suspect William didn’t care to attend most of these weddings. Not that surprised they are attending this one because they got a free trip to Jordan a few years ago and there is likely some kind of money train for them in going to Jordan.

      • First comment says:

Yeah..I’m pretty sure they combined their half term holidays with the wedding. It gives them the excuse to be there..

      • Becks1 says:

I saw video of them arriving last night on twitter, wonder if that was either staged or if they will stay for their vacation after the wedding?

      • SunnyDays says:

I’m also surprised to see them at this wedding but the more I think of it, the more I think there’s also an element from Kate saying “The country of Jordan is MY thing, no one else gets this one”. Also, she didn’t get to wear a tiara to the coronation so if this is, in fact a tiara event you best believe she will be there!

      • Harper says:

Now we know why Burger King was MIA the past few weeks. This was on the calendar and he won’t do more than the bare minimum in a month.

      • Tacky says:

I think William and Kate attended this wedding because the king and queen are fairly young and the Wales’ would be seen as their contemporaries.

      • Tacky says:

I just saw the Beatrice and Edo also attended, so definitely an effort to send the younger royals.

      • acha says:

How many holidays do they HAVE in England??? I feel like they have a “term half holiday” or whatever every other week

      • Cairidh says:

        Every 6 weeks.

      • Nic919 says:

Not only Beatrice but also Carole, Pippa and James Matthews. Emotional support guests? I don’t recall the Spencers attending foreign royal weddings with Diana.

      • Cairidh says:

One of the twitter propaganda accounts (paid Middleton PR staff or middletons themselves) said they’re there because the middletons have formed a relationship with the Jordanian royal family Who likes them, as everyone who meets this family like them, because they’re “genuine, fun, decent people”

      • Becks1 says:

@Cairidh LOL, that’s definitely paid Middleton PR. I wonder when they formed this relationship? Did the Middletons go to Jordan last year with the Cambridges?

      • Lady D says:

I remember reading about Kate attending kindergarten in Jordan. There were pictures of 5yo Kate with the story.

      • Nic919 says:

They were there working for British Airways for 2 years in the early 80s. There is no way the royal family of Jordan gives a thought about the Middletons.

    • Moi says:

yes it will be a tiara event. but I am sure ( hope against all hope) that most of the pictures will be focused on the bride.

      • Pam says:

Oh, good. If she can wear a tiara, it will save her from having to fashion another Michael’s Arts & Crafts special. I swear, that thing, from a distance, looked like she had a tin-foil hat on her head!

      • Tacky says:

It wasn’t a tiara event and she was dressed appropriately, nice and dowdy.

      • acha says:

Kate’s Etsy headpiece summed up the whole Shambly for me — it was rich people cosplaying boring ancient ceremonies, and thinking that some kind of hasty half-assed bullshit wouldn’t be noticed immediately by everyone

    • Scout says:

The Middletons lived in Jordan when Kate was very little I think.

      • Lady D says:

Sorry Scout, I didn’t see your post before I added mine. Great minds and all that.

      • Becks1 says:

They did, for about 2-3 years I think, but I doubt they were buddy-buddy with the Jordanian royal family at that point.

  2. Megan says:

I cannot wait to see what Queen Rania is wearing!

    • Pinkosaurus says:

I hope this is a no holds barred jewels, tiaras and gowns event, the Oscars of royal weddings if you will.

    • HandforthParish says:

Beautiful black dress with embroiled white detailing on the back.
I didn’t like her coronation outfit but this was elegant and appropriate.

      Hate the wedding dress.

  3. M says:

Very interesting as they have literally never attended the wedding of another royal family. They always sent Ed and Sofiesta because they couldn’t be assed. There will be a lot of these weddings in the next 10 years, so I wonder if Chuckles gave an ultimatum. Or they were already on vacation in Jordan like two years ago so it was convenient.

    • equality says:

Kate likely would voluntarily go to this type of event. She gets to dress up and wear jewels and doesn’t have to say anything meaningful.

      • Kittenmom says:

^^this 100% especially since she had her party pieces tiara humiliation at the chubbly

      • Mary Pester says:

Yep pegs and buttons wouldn’t miss the chance to play dress up and “LOOK AT ME”, not the bride

      • Nic919 says:

She really looked like a future Queen when William told her to wrap it up at the receiving line in front of the bride and groom. Super classy and regal for both of them.

    • First comment says:

I think it’s both: they are already there for the half term holidays and it’s an opportunity to wear a tiara.

      • Isabella says:

Does Katherine own her own tiara? Or does just she have to ask for permission? Can Camilla say hands off the royal jewelry? I don’t get how that works.

      • Nic919 says:

Some of the tiaras might be on permanent loan, like the queen Mary one she wears, as well as the lotus flower. But new to her tiaras will be determined by Camilla.

      • Cairidh says:

She was given the Cambridge lovers knot tiara by the queen because she was the Duchess of Cambridge. Given as in, allowed to borrow for the rest of her life, if she remains Royal.

    • MF says:

I feel like, despite the opportunity to wear jewels, Kate probably doesn’t like events like this. We all know how she feels about being in the same room with a woman who is younger and more beautiful.

      • Cecile730 says:

…and is the center of the attention.
I am betting she’s going to wear something screaming “look at meeee”.

      • Nic919 says:

Sitting in the fourth row… with Beatrice and Edo in the row right behind them. She’s given some faces on some of the video screen caps too.

      • Cairidh says:

She’s wearing a dress by the same designer as the brides dress. Which means the newspapers will print side by side pics of her in her dress, and the bride in her dress, comparing the two. Well played.

      • acha says:

Elie Saab seems like one of the few designers from the Middle East (Lebanon?) that she routinely wears, so I am not surprised Kate recycled a 2017 design from Saab.

      • Lady D says:

Where are you seeing these pictures, if you don’t mind me asking?

      • Becks1 says:

@LadyD there are a lot on twitter, mostly screengrabs from the live feed. I’m assuming Kaiser will do a post tomorrow with more pictures, so we can break down the fashion and the body language, lol.

      • Lady D says:

        Thanks, Becks1.

  4. Digital Unicorn says:

Well well, Sophie will be fuming as other royal weddings was her gig and she LOVED it. I would also not be surprised if they were also vacationing there as well.

Cute couple but on another thread a poster said that this was an arranged marriage (for her families money) and that she was quite the party girl, and like Mumbles her partying past has been scrubbed from the web. I get Middleton vibes from her – she wore a canary yellow dress to Princess Iman’s wedding.

    • Nicki says:

Looks like Bea and Edo are there too. Is that prelude to them becoming more active as working royals?

      • Becks1 says:

Someone said below that the bride trained as an architect. I wonder if Edo knows her in a completely non-royal capacity? IDK.

  5. Chaine says:

I would hate to have to invite her to my wedding as then all of the focus of the news stories will be on her. It should be the actual bride and groom’s day and not about her. But who knows, maybe her being there will make them feel like they are top tier royalty.

    • equality says:

The BM will focus on her. I’m sure the Jordanian media will focus on their own RF.

      • Lorelai says:

Exactly, just as the Swedish papers will focus on their Royals being there, etc etc

    • Digital Unicorn says:

Considering she pretty much went all out to pull focus from her FIL at his own coronation she will absolutely go all out to pull focus at this wedding – she has previous for doing this kind of sh!t, even when she was just his beck and call girl.

She’ll turn up in a colour that looks like white and decked out – she thinks that cause she’s part of the BRF that she out ranks the other royal houses. Poor snowflake is deluded.

  6. Highland pony says:

I wonder if you know who will kick off at seating arrangements

  7. nem says:

Sunny holidays under the pretense of a royal wedding aren’t beneath the wails, but William ‘s godfather mourning in athens was…
The Royal greek family must be livid

  8. Layla says:

I’m kinda annoyed they’ve gone. You just KnOW k is gonna preen and try to take attention. It’s Rajwa’s day to shine

    • Jais says:

Eh, she’ll preen but I’m not sure she’ll really take away that much shine. Not that she won’t be trying.

      • Becks1 says:

Looking at the guest list, she’s with many other women who either outrank her, or are simply just better at the big gown/tiara look than Kate is (both are true for CP victoria for example.) Of course the BM will focus on her but I don’t think she’ll take away that much shine.

    • Couch Potato says:

I’m with Becks1 here. The BM might focus on her, but non of the international media. Maxima, Victoria and Mary could wear a potato sack and still outshine her. I’m pretty sure it’s the younger heirs; Elisabeth and Catharina-Amalia most of the european press will focus on, because they’ve been to young to attend much until now. The Jordanian press will probably have a smal part about the attending foreign royals, but the bride and groom will be the headlines there.

      • BothSidesNow says:

Queen Rania and Dr. Biden look stunning!!! I am adoring the brides dress as well!! It’s beautifully cut and the design is beautifully designed!!

After the most important people exited, they have mostly split to half screen or no coverage at all!!!! It’s too funny as Can’t and Won’t were NOT shown!!! ☺️☺️

Eeehhh gads, KKHates grown is atrocious!!

      • BothSidesNow says:

And KKHate makes an enormous ASS out of herself as she stood speaking with the bride for close to 3-4 minutes whereas everyone else was briefly congratulating the couple!!!

And add insult to injury, as they were in the queue, TOB ignored her completely as he spoke with others with his back to his wife!!! Such a show of a “loving and happy” couple!!

      • Digital Unicorn says:

She spent ages yakking to the King and Queen when they arrived and I think there were people waiting behind them.

      • aftershocks says:

WanK both made complete asses of themselves monopolizing the bride & groom, while stalling other guests waiting in line. 🙄 It was a full-on self-indulgent display of preening and grinning by Cain and Mumbles. Neither had the sense and decency to keep the small talk short for the sake of not holding up the line with their pretentious, self-important bloviating! They were keen to make it appear that they are close chums of the bride and groom, which I seriously doubt.

OTOH, Bea & Edo were invited apparently because they actually do have a friendly relationship that goes beyond mere acquaintanceship? At least a sense of close camaderie was evident when Bea and Edo greeted the newlyweds. Yet, Bea & Edo kept the length of their small talk within reason, unlike the clueless, overbearing WanKs.

  9. Southern Fried says:

Good, it’ll be fun fashion watching. I have no doubt K8 will muck it up somehow. How many cheap looking wiglets will she stick on? Will we get the hyena grimace or glaring face? The lumpy face or wrinkle face?

  10. Mtl.Ex.Pat says:

Oh they’re already planning all the “Kate happy family memories” nonsense articles from when she and her family briefly used to live in Jordan.
As an aside – didn’t like the photo of the couple, he’s got his hands clasped, not touching her and she looks like she’s a secondary character clinging to his arm. Don’t like the message of that.

  11. Maxine Branch says:

If there is any good to be realized from those 2 attending is Chris Jackson will probably not be there to smooth the wrinkles out of this woman’s face.

  12. SAS says:

Gosh they’re only about 10 years older than the Jordanian couple but they seem SO much older. What’s the odds on Kate dabbling in a lil cultural appropriation do we think?

  13. Amy Bee says:

Queen Rania is on the Earthshot board it would have been weird if they didn’t go to the wedding.

  14. Shawna says:

Wondering if Crown Princess Mary will outshine Kate again. Wouldn’t be surprised if that’s who she’s copying/competing with today.

  15. Tessa says:

Kate will looks for the cameras and grin .

  16. YeahRight says:

Buttons can see how royal women who have actual taste in fashion dress. Q Rania and CP Mary is who Buttons should be cosplaying but she’s too obsessed with her SIL in another country.

  17. Tessa says:

In the conanation photo Kate looks like the evil swan from swan lake.

    • Shawna says:

I love that Kaiser keeps trying to make this photo happen. I don’t think we’ve laughed enough about the floating head / neckless aspect of this photo, or that weird cloth doughnut on the shoulder (which reminds me of Bea’s infamous headgear at W&K’s wedding).

  18. SueBarbri33 says:

It’s been hilarious to watch the RR try to figure out if W/K were actually going. I’ve always had a soft spot for Prince Hussein (Hoya Saxa!), so I’m excited to see this wedding. Anybody know if we can watch it live?

  19. Tessa says:

At least Kate will be kept away from these wedding plans. She can’t interfere with outfits of the bridal party.

  20. Jay says:

Hmmm, my guess is the Wales are going to stick out like sore thumbs no matter what Kate wears. Sophie and Edward usually attended weddings on behalf of the British Royals, and while they were never exciting, they looked comfortable enough with everyone. We rarely see the Wales look at ease with other royals, even ones who are their second or third cousins. I pity the person who has to try to hold up their side of the conversation with Kate.

What I’m most interested in is Princess Elisabeth and Catharine-Amalia being there. Young, beautiful, well-spoken, and accomplished. I wonder if Kate will try to find a way to be photographed chatting with them for some kind of “Young Future Queen’s” BM photo opportunity, or if she’ll stay far, far away to avoid comparisons.

    • Layla says:

Would’ve loved to have seen the Norwegian princess too. All three of the princesses are good friends and all three of them (as well as Princess iman and Princess salma) are so beautiful

      • Couch Potato says:

Princess Ingrid is in her last month of high school right now. She’s probably too busy with exams atm.

  21. More photo ops of look we are happy we don’t fight we go to others weddings together. Blah blah blah.

  22. GDubslady says:

I’m sure Kate will wear a tiara but wouldn’t it be interesting if she didn’t. Kate’s recycled a lot iof jewelry that Diana had but Camilla may have cut her access off especially if the Wales marriage is up in the air. The attacks against Kate and the Middletons reminds me of the early attacks against Meghan back in October 2018.

    • Jais says:

Yeah. I’d be surprised if she was given access to a new tiara. It does seem like Charles and Cam are guarding the jewels.

      • Whyforthelovel says:

Bless her heart she did get to wear her tried and true Cambridge Knot Tierra she must be so happy

  23. aquarius64 says:

It’s going to take a lot for Kate not to try to out do the bride. And she will very in the room with blood princesses half her age with more accomplishments. With FLOTUS going to the wedding this will pop up in US media, which the BRF desperately want. You know Sophie is mad because she and Edward represented the BRF on these things. Dollar bet the Wailes pulled rank to get this gig.

  24. snappyfish says:

My take on this is very different. When King Hussain died he wanted his son, Hamzah with Queen Noor, to be King but the young many was still too young. So he spoke with his son Abdullah and they made a compromise. I will make you my heir & King but your younger 1/2 brother Hamzah would be the Crown Prince above any of Abdullah’s children. Abdullah made the vow & BROKE it, violating both his oath to his dying father AND the will of the Jordian people who preferred Hamzah. So the wedding of this “Crown Prince” is, in the words of a good friend of mine who still lives in Jordan, as an affront to the Hashemite Kingdom. So sure, go to the fake crown prince’s wedding. If they are looking for better optics, this isn’t it

    • Mary says:

Wasn’t he recently detained as well?

      • Snappyfish says:

He was & wasn’t released until he swore an oath of fealty to both the King & the “crown prince”

      • Digital Unicorn says:

@snappyfish – I thought he and his family were still under house arrest? He did try and commit sedition allegedly with the backing of the Saudi’s. He was then stripped of all his royal titles, so am not sure he’s even a Prince anymore.

    • hermionebananahammock says:

King Hussein’s brother was also crown prince for decades until that switch, so the transition to Abdullah’s son when he was old enough makes sense. Hamzah (and his mother) couldn’t accept that he was a temporary placeholder, just as Prince Hassan was. The monarchy was never going to go anywhere but to the oldest son of the oldest son. This is not me defending the idea of a monarchy, btw.

    • BeanieBean says:

Well, the late King Hussein had originally named his brother to be his successor, only to switch it up later and make it his son, Abdullah, so there’s precedent.
Oh, I see someone else posted the same thing above. As an additional note, I was told that because Hussein’s father had been assassinated, and he himself had survived an assassination attempt, he made his brother the crown prince rather than his son to switch up the targets, so to speak.

  25. Andrea says:

I was just watching the live stream.. there are so many beautiful woman there there is no way Katie will overshadow anyone.

  26. Tiffany says:

Hussain took his father’s face and Rajwa looks exactly like her now mother in law.

If you had told me that was the engagement photo from the King and Queen’s announcement, I would believe you.

  27. Gabby says:

Of course they are attending. Weddings are always a great place to hook up with someone. William will scope out future GFs and maybe squirrel one away to a dark corner to take her for a test drive. Waity will scan the room and take comfort in being the slimmest one there.

    • Tiffany says:

Naw, the guest at this wedding are true power players and will laugh him out the room if he tries that. He and Cannot are below the bottom rung of the chain.

  28. Lauren says:

Looking forward to seeing all the princesses looking way more glamorous then they did for the coronation. Most of them looked really conservative at the coronation compared to their usual styles

  29. Digital Unicorn says:

Am watching the live stream – she’s wearing a pale rose coloured full dress, hair down and curly and NO TIARA. CP Mary arrived after them and she was wearing a lovely white dress that had a bold blue pattern.

Beatrice and Edo are there as well – she’s wear a pale silverish sparkly dress with a black waist band.

Rania is wear a long black gown with a silver lacy back. Looks lovely.

I think I prefer Bea’s dress over catty’s. The gowns the ladies are wearing are all lovely.

Am hearing a LOT of bagpipes playing in the background.

PS yeah am bored at home and I love a good royal wedding.

    • Digital Unicorn says:

Jill Biden turned up looking lovely with her daughter Ashley. They were the last to arrive I think.

I have a soft spot for Rania and Abdullah – they always seem like they are still very much in love.

    • Hannah says:

CP Mary is in Erdem (repeat)

Kate is in blush Ellie Saab (new)

Not bagpipes, looks like a lot of trumpets

Dr Biden looks beautiful. No ID on dress

      • tamsin says:

I would have expected a switch between Mary and Kate. Kate used to wear a lot of Erdem and the continental princesses wore a lot Elie Saab. Seems to me that Kate wearing Saab designs is a fairly recent thing. I think Beatrice looked beautiful and her dress suited her very well. I think Edo is a very good stylist, lol. I think Kate looked herself in a dress that reflected her natural style choices. The dress was quite lovely, and although I think the sleeves were sheer, it did look a bit heavy.

    • Jais says:

Just looked and Kate is seated behind someone who is blocking any view of her. She was lifting her head to try and see😂. Jill is seated two rows ahead.

    • Mary says:

Curious to see what tiara Beatrice wears to the wedding reception!

    • Digital Unicorn says:

The bride looks so lovely – i love her dress.

    • Jais says:

Dang, the garden the bride walked through was stunning and lush. Must be nice.

    • Becks1 says:

Maybe the tiaras would be for the evening reception? IDK how these things work, I am not a royal attending such events, lol.

    • Shawna says:

      The bagpipes were unexpected!

Queen Rania’s dress decorations looked really nice against the scrollwork on the chair.

      • hermionebananahammock says:

I’m a Jordanian American married to a Scottish American. The bagpipes always tickle him. LOTS of connections and similarities between the cultures.

      • Shawna says:

@hermionebananahammock – So cool! Thanks for cluing us in!

  30. AmelieOriginal says:

Yahoo has video of them arriving at their hotel, I tried adding the link but it was so ridiculously long so never mind.

Pretty sure Kate is wearing an Alexander McQueen suit, it’s her go these days. For those not wanting to watch the video, black blazer and black trousers with a white shirt. Which basically sounds like Meghan’s work uniform.

I am surprised to see them attend this wedding because they have never attended any of the other European royals’ wedding apart from family. But we know Kate and William did a secret vacation trip to Jordan once and someone mentioned Rania is on the board of Earthshot which I don’t think I knew.

    • ChattyCath says:

That sounds inappropriate and rather insulting. To a Summer wedding? Expect all Khate wants is to be the slimmest there anyway.

  31. HeyKay says:

    Attending a royal wedding.
    Calling it work.

  32. Shawna says:

Loving this event! I’ve been a fan of Abdullah II since I played Jordan in the Model Arab League. He so obviously loves his family and is so affectionate. Jordan is so welcoming to Palestinian refugees, and I love its role in the tech industry.

Kate’s hidden in the middle. Dr. Biden is much more prominently placed, lol.

    • Shawna says:

Dr. Jill was the FIRST in the receiving line (e.g., first one after the parents to greet the newlyweds)! Great honor for the US.

Egg and Bone nowhere in the receiving line as yet. Ouch.

    • Shawna says:

William looked like he was having a genuine conversation with the new princess. She looked engaged, not just giving a polite face. Kate looks nice; appropriate dress for the context, if wasting away to nothing. If I saw it rightly, William gave Kate the “wrap it up” gesture (both hands moving in a circle) when she was talking to the new princess. Yikes.

      • Julie says:

yeah i saw that too. Kate didnt give a shit and carried on talking

      • Shawna says:

@Julie, glad you saw it too! It was weird because it wasn’t like the next person was hovering to get to the new princess; they were still talking to the crown prince. There was plenty of time for her to keep talking, and Kate is one of the very few people in the world who could understand what the new princess is going through. He just seemed to want to control her. Ugh.

      • Digital Unicorn says:

Yeah I saw that – I think he said something to her about ‘keeping it moving’. Its clear Peggy is good friends with the CP given the warm greeting and for once he seems to be enjoying himself – she looked nervous and seems to struggle to make any sort of decent conversation with both the CP and the bride.

The palace gardens are just stunning.

      • Shawna says:

@Digital Unicorn, yeah, I was surprised to see William so authentic. Too bad he can’t manage it elsewhere…. Love the gardens!

      • Jais says:

Yep, he literally did a wrap it up gesture to his wife while she was talking in front of the cameras. What the hell is wrong with him? And yes, the palace gardens are gorgeous.

      • Shawna says:

@Jais I would *at least* give my husband the silent treatment for the rest of the day if he did that to me in public.

      • Becks1 says:

Someone above said she was talking to her for 3-4 minutes, which is too long in that type of setting. Kate isn’t the only one at the wedding who understands what the princess must be feeling, other married-ins were there as well. If she really was talking to her that long, then it was rude. That is not the time for a heart to heart about being a married-in to a royal family.

But, William being so blatant about telling her to wrap it up is also rude. Bad manners all around.

      • SueBarbri33 says:

I saw that too. Yikes. William is so awful omg.

      • Jais says:

@becks1- it wasn’t 3-4 min. It did seem like it was taking longer than needed considering people were waiting. So it was extra. But 3-4 full min? No. The bigger issue was that she was making William wait and every second felt interminable to him judging by the way he was standing and staring at her. And then the wrap it up gesture. Like @shawna, I would be livid with a partner who did that in front of the camera. That said, I saw a clip on Twitter and they cut it off before that gesture was shown. So perhaps it won’t live past the live version.

      • Shawna says:

@Becks1 – I was watching the live feed. It couldn’t have been 3-4 minutes. More like 90 seconds, 2 minutes max.

      • Nic919 says:

I don’t want to defend William but in a receiving line with a large guest list and another formal event scheduled after, not much more should be said than congrats, you look great etc and then move on. Having any sort of chat longer than that in that context is delaying everyone else.

And kate is not one known to respect the time of others.

      • Jais says:

So I went back to the AP YouTube video and scrolled back to that moment. William speaks to the bride first for about 34 seconds and then he has to wait as Kate talks to the bride. Kate talks for all of about 12 seconds when William makes the wraps it up motion and literally says aloud keep it moving. So yeah who wasn’t keeping it moving? The man who spoke for 34 seconds or the wife who spoke for 12. You can see the whole procession of people greeting the bride and groom an no one else makes a wrap it up gesture to another person in the line let alone their wife.

      • Jais says:

For some reason I accessed this on the oleantimesherald.com But if you scroll to around 1:22:30, you can see.

      • Becks1 says:

@Jais lol I am not that invested in this to go look at the feed.

But I guess I just don’t understand why people are surprised when William is rude to Kate in public? he;s always been rude to her. Remember the infamous umbrella photo?

I’d be more shocked if he was polite and courteous to her in public.

      • Jais says:

@becks1😂, well, apparently I’m acting brand new bc every time it shocks me. I know it shouldn’t but it does! I really had to go back and check whether it was 3-4 min😂. I am still surprised he can’t be polite and courteous for the cameras. Obv, I shouldn’t be and yet I am.

      • Becks1 says:

@Jais what I will say is that I think there’s more…..contempt….in his behavior towards her in public than there used to be. Like it seems more pointed now, maybe? Like the umbrella picture I mentioned above – when he left Kate on the barge and walked off with his umbrella alone – I think that was just him not thinking of other people, because he never does. It’s a problem, being that self-centered is not a good thing and I would hate to be married to someone like that.

But it’s different from his behavior towards her in the past 3 years or so. Like its gone from “I am the most important person in the room so I dont care about anyone else” to “I am the most important person in the room AND I can’t stand to be in the same room as her.”

      • Nic919 says:

Kate does not have to remain married to a man who treats her poorly. It’s not the first time he’s been rude to her in public and it won’t be the last. Probably explains all the Harry and Meghan divorce articles to cover for this mess too.

      • Jais says:

And that’s the thing. For as much as the BRF talk about class and protocols, imo, he looks like a POS. Why can’t william hide that contempt in public? Yeah, it’s not the first time he’s been rude. And yeah likely won’t be the last. And she doesn’t have to stay. But if they’re in agreement on an arrangement, he has to at least pretend. He just keeps humiliating her in public. Maybe he’s the heir so he just doesn’t care. Or is so trusting the BM will provide cover, which just seems like a massive gamble. Kate has publicly been snotty AF to Meghan, so between the two of them, they’re just so classless.

      • QuiteContrary says:

Yikes. That’s embarrassing. I should feel sad for Kate, but she made her bed with Will.

      • Becks1 says:

@Jais – to your comment – “if they’re in agreement on an arrangement, he has to at least pretend.”

My guess is they are no longer in agreement and that’s why we’re seeing this play out like this.

I also think that kind of event probably bothers Kate because they’re surrounded by other royalty and married-ins, and Kate is the only one whose husband so openly disdains her. I feel like in England she can kind of pretend that its just how royals are (even though other British royals aren’t that way to their spouses), but in that kind of setting it would be hard to ignore that she’s the one with the ahole husband.

      • Jais says:

That makes sense. It’s just funny bc we’ve all noticed how Kate cannot act chill when Meghan is nearby, like with the Windsor walkabout etc, whereas William usually can pull it together. So why can’t he do it here? Even if their arrangement is in disarray and disagreement, like pull it together.

      • Harper says:

It didn’t look like Kate saw William motion to her to wrap it up. But what a buffoon this supposed statesman is; he was standing right in front of the camera and the clip is now all over the media. Even the sycophantic Fail has an article on it. Burger King really can’t hold it together when he’s with her, can he?

      • Becks1 says:

Okay the clip surfaced on my Twitter. Repeatedly. Lol.

Is there audio? Are we sure he told her to move it along or whatever? I ask bc without audio it looks to me like he’s mocking her. Kate moves her hand in a circle and then William starts doing it.

I mean either way it’s rude as hell LOL.

He must really loathe her bc as Jais pointed out, we have seen William roughly keep it together around H&M in public. I mean he’s not on his best behavior, but Kate is almost always worse and more obvious. William can fake it at least a little bit. But around Kate he just doesn’t even bother anymore.

      • Jais says:

In the AP vid, William literally says “keep it moving” aloud as he makes that movement. Without sound, it looks mocking but it wasn’t. I watched it back a few times. Did I spend too much time on this today? Yes, yes I did. They both spoke more than other guests. Will spoke to the bride for 34 sec. Kate spoke for all of 12 when William made the gesture and said keep it moving. Pity he only noticed her speaking to much and not himself .
Edit- wrote this comment a few times but my page kept reloading so if it comes out 3 times, my apologies😬

      • Feeshalori says:

I remember when things were so bad between Charles and Diana that they openly couldn’t hide their disdain for each other on their trip to Korea. I remember that famous picture of them looking away from each other and how Diana looked so miserable. I think soon after that, the queen told them that they had to divorce. I wonder if Charles will do the same in light of William’s open disdain and mockery of his wife now. For him to drop all pretense and behave like that in front of his fellow royals and the media is disgraceful, let alone treating your spouse like that in general. That marriage looks like dust now.

      • Jais says:

Correction to what I said. William says “keep going” aloud and not keep it moving. And it’s a second after he does the motion. It does seem like a wrap it up gesture that is also mocking for taking too long. Didn’t want to spread misinfo😅. @feeshalori- it’s def rude but idk if Charles cares so much. He’s chilling in Romania or bout to be.

      • tamsin says:

William’s gesture toward Kate was not only rude to Kate, but also the bride, because she was talking to Kate. And William was a guest. He really is a boor. And it seems to me that he spent a bit of time talking himself, but Kate is not allowed?

  33. ales says:

The clothes hanger will have spent many thousands on a new outfit, plus thousands more for her new outfits to wander around in public. She didnt get to parade around at the coronation so its pay back time. Her multiple pairs of new 12 inch heels and maniacal open mouth grin will be out in force. The british gossip writers will try to make her the star of the wedding and create stories about her being best friends with all the European Royals. The gossip writers are spreading stories about Khate living in Jordan when she was a child. They were there from May 1984 until September 1986 she was a toddler, aged between 2 and 4, now there are stories about how people remember her and what she was like. As if a random family with two children would be memorable. More fake stories will come out to deflect attention from her awful family.

  34. Lizzie says:

Will Queen Noor attend? I hope so, but don’t know the protocol. Will Waity wear a gold dress, ala Meghan’s last appearance?

  35. HeyKay says:

King H was very interesting to me. His life was complicated and difficult and he was very well known on the international political/world leaders stage, from what I recall.

W&K are not the big royals in this wedding.
If they are clever they will be respectful and keep a low profile. Try not to embarrass themselves. The BRF has a bad enough rep these days, if Kate goes all in grinning like a fool trying to be Me, Me, Me it is not going to help.

The Bride and Groom should shine at their own wedding.

    • tamsin says:

Just whizzed through the footage of the royal guests arriving. Will and Kate are now a crown prince couple and the most recent pair to become one, so they are back of the bus. They were the first to arrive, as befit their status in the royals pecking order. Kings and Queens take precedence. I believe they are seated in order of length of reign, so it seems to me the Sultan of Brunei would be head of the line-up. Jill got to be the last guest to arrive. Reaized that as soon as I saw the American Chevrolet insiginia on the car.

I think Kate looked very nice, wearing a soft pink gown that suited her very well. William and Kate acted like a couple, so well done for them. I saw one guest wear the Safiya gown(?) that Meghan wore in red to the Marines concert. The guest’s choice was a beautiful blue, and she looked stunning.

  36. Laura D says:

Missed their entrance but, I’ve just seen W&K. William seems engaged in conversation with a woman next to him while Kate is just looking around! The guy next to her did try speaking to her but, the conversation didn’t seem to last long. Best thing about it is that her view is blocked by the guy in front of her. I don’t know if it’s due to rank but, W&K are in the middle seats while the King of Holland is in the front row! They’re nowhere near FLOTUS who is chatting quite happily to a woman who looked a lot like Queen Letiza. I’m sure the RRs will make W&K the “main attraction” but, going by the feed they’re just part of the crowd.

ETA: Just seen the bride and she looks beautiful. 🙂

    • Digital Unicorn says:

I don’t think Lettie and Felipe are there – his parents are!!

      • Laura D says:

@Thanks Digital Unicorn that makes sense as the woman (in the clip I saw) looked like her but, the outfit didn’t! I normally love what Queen Letiza wears and I wasn’t too keen on what the woman was wearing in the clip! 😆

    • Becks1 says:

It makes sense that they are seated in the 4th row, especially if there are actual monarchs in attendance. and Jill Biden will be given a more prominent seat out of respect for the country’s relationship with the US.

      • Nic919 says:

She’s also the spouse of the head of state so she outranks them in that sense.

    • Jais says:

Gah. Just watched everyone greet the newlyweds and that’s prob the longest que Will and Kate have ever been in😂. But man, for real, what is wrong with William? He just ignores Kate. No other couple looks as detached. There is no pretending. No one’s asking for PDA but jeez. Honestly, it’s kind of an insult to her. I’d be so pissed if I was her.

      • Nic919 says:

Seeing as how her mother and sister are there too I suspect he feels he can do what he wants since she has her emotional support backups there.

      • Jais says:

So who’s his emotional support if he’s surrounded by Middleton’s😂?

      • Nic919 says:

        We can certainly guess.

  37. Athena says:

William and Kate are seated in the fourth row. I do like this Jordanian family and would love to visit the country one day.

The bride looks nervous. Crown prince is all smiles when he sees his bride

  38. Beach Dreams says:

Kate’s apparently doing that thing where she’s giving a big fake smile and dropping it as soon as she’s done talking to people (apparently she did it when talking to King Abdullah and Queen Rania of all people, how charming and diplomatic). Wonder if she even wants to be there.

    • Laura D says:

I scrolled back to see their entrance. As per normal William dived out of the car and looked around impatiently for Kate. I’m not a fan of Kate but, she did look as if she was putting on a “brave face.” I thought she looked as if she wanted to cry. I also noticed that the Queen looked back towards them when they had finished their greetings.

I’m probably making 2+2 into 5 so, don’t pay too much heed to my observations! 😆

    • Harper says:

Yes the thunder face then transition to huge guffaw seems really pronounced today. There seemed to be a few stretches in their walks here and there when Mumbles didn’t know the camera was on her already. It will be hilarious to see which of Burger King’s typical cold and stiff interactions with her will be deemed “looks of love” by the derangers.

  39. Nicegirl says:

Will we be wearing the crocheted tiara

  40. Cerys says:

No doubt they have been in Jordan all week on one of their many secret holidays and have tacked the wedding on at the end to look as if they are there for “work”.
The Windsors usually consider themselves superior to all the other monarchies so it will be interesting to observe the interactions and body language between William, Kate and the other royals.

    • Shawna says:

Hate to say it, but I thought the newlyweds looked super-comfortable talking to Egg and Bone, more than most of the other guests in the receiving line. But the other royals, I haven’t seen! The body language tells are all between Egg and Bone….

      • Becks1 says:

William and the CP have a friendly relationship IIRC. he has been to Jordan on solo trips before (remember the time he watched the…..something. Euro finals?….when England was playing…..with the CP). And I’m presuming their trip to Jordan last fall was at the invitation of the Jordanian royal family. So there is definitely a relationship there. I think.

    • Unblinkered says:

Replying to Cerys re the Windsors “usually consider themselves superior to the other monarchies“ – they may find that all ended with The Queen’s death.
W&K are literally overseeing the collapse of The Commonwealth, and with that goes a lot of the prestige of the British Crown. And W&K do not have an ounce of the Queen’s dignity, gravitas or presence.

    • Nic919 says:

The footage of them at the airport looked to be yesterday or this morning. It is likely as short as possible because the body language between them today is not great.

      • Nic919 says:

It was footage at the St Regis not the airport.
And guess who else is there? Carole, Pippa and her husband are at the reception.

      • Digital Unicorn says:

OMG yeah its them all right – I just saw on Hello a clip from the live feed – they were right there at the front making sure they were seen.

I wonder what kind of fit Catty pitched to get them invited as well??!?! Am shocked that they were invited – that lot really are grifting. Wonder what kinds of deal Ma will make to get money to pay off her business debts.

  41. Athena says:

Based on the greeting and chatting I think Bea and Edo are good friends with the crown prince and his bride. And they went before Will and Kate on the receiving line.

    • Julie says:

the bride was absolutely gorgeous and that dress fitted her like a glove.

cant stand W & K but that hug between Hussein and W seemed really heart felt and genuine

  42. Kris says:

I can’t wait to see all the pics. Queen Rania always has cute outfits. I can’t wait to see Queen Maxima and Queen Keri’s looks, too.

  43. Athena says:

Loving the street party AP is showing. It did look like Will and the crown prince actually know each other.

Agree with comments above, Will did signal her to move it along. There’s an element of contempt in the relationship, he truly doesn’t like her.

    • Digital Unicorn says:

To be fair to Catty – he was the one that spent too long chatting to the groom and bride. To me it was a case, am done talking to them so let’s get moving. And yeah that is contempt as its best.

Both he and Hussain went to Sandhurst so there is that connection.

Will be interesting to see what Mumbles wears to the evening reception.

      • BeanieBean says:

That’s what it looked like to me, too. William took more time than anyone else meeting the newlyweds, then when Kate tried a similar convo, he did his juvenile hurry up gesture.

    • Nic919 says:

This started showing in 2020 after the change in zoom room. Something shifted them where he could not bother to conceal his contempt for her.

And she has options but she really wants those titles. She has sacrificed her dignity for years and it’s unlikely to change unless William wants it changed.

  44. Cosmic Cow says:

From the pictures it really seems like a lovely, relaxed, bling free and rather intimate event.

  45. AnneL says:

Oh, I didn’t know this was happening but now I will be looking for pictures! I can’t wait to see what everyone wears, especially the bride. She’s lovely. She seems to be a real natural beauty.

I don’t give a toss what Kate wears and I won’t be looking for her….

  46. Lizzie says:

Best comment I found on the df, ‘I thought I spotted Pip hiding in the shrubbery.’

    • Lizzie says:

Dr. Jill Biden second row, W&K fourth row. Ha.

      • Mary says:

That’s hilarious given all of the grief the British tabloids tried to give Harry for having been relegated to Siberia at the Coronation, as he was seated in the THIRD row!

  47. Likeyoucare says:

They got 4th rows because of seniority.
Kate got new face and i almost didnt recognise her.
She tried to talk and show how warm she is by trying to touch when talking to the new bride and groom. Ackward!!
All the attendant look beautiful and elegant. Kate look dowdy.
William? Meh. No one care about him.

  48. Tessa says:

The. Dm is making a fuss over how modest Kate is putting panels on the gown so it is not see through

  49. Athena says:

Just want to add that the new crown princess is from a rich Saudi family with blood connection to the Saudi royal family (not the pretend rich of the Middletons). The new crown princess is also well educated with a degree in Architecture and another in Visual Communication. She actually worked as an Architect in Los Angeles and held a job in Saudi Arabia at the time of her engagement.

    • Digital Unicorn says:

Thanks for the info – how did she meet the CP?

      • Athena says:

According to the crown prince they were introduced by a mutual friend. Bty, she earned her degree from Syracuse University in NY and he earned his from Georgetown University in DC. a year apart. They may have met in the U.S. or introduced by friends back home.

    • Saucy&Sassy says:

What an interesting person. She will do well in her new “position”. I watched enough on you tube to say that her dress is GORGEOUS. She is a stunningly beautiful woman. He’s quite handsome, so they make an eye-catching couple. They look like they love each other. I do hope so. I’ve looked in on the Jordanian Royal Family from time to time, and quite admire what they do for their citizenry. I believe that started with King Hussein (Abdullah’s father). They marry accomplished women who are also active in their rolls.

FLOTUS looked beautiful (as did Ashley). She appeared to enjoy talking with everyone. She’s such a warm person and it always appears as if people enjoy talking with her, too.

    • Maremotrice says:

How refreshing to read about a royal consort who was gainfully employed prior to marriage as opposed to loafing around waiting for her boyfriend to propose, eh?

  50. Tessa says:

And of course the dm has in its headlines a large picture of kate next to the bride and groom. Awful .

    • Lizzie says:

I clicked on the article; I couldn’t wait to see pics. There are a crazy number of pics of Kate. They just show her over and over and over. I wanted to see the Bride, Queen Rania, European royals, Dr. Jill Biden and Princess Beatrice.

    • Jil says:

@tessa do you live on the DM page. You realize you’re giving them exactly what they want which is engagement.

  51. HeyKay says:

Why does Kates pink dress look so warm? It looks like heavy fabric to me with long sleeves.

  52. QuiteContrary says:

I’m pretty sure Jill Biden has worn that dress before — it’s lovely.

Kate’s pink dress looks like a Gunne Sax mess.

  53. TheOriginalMia says:

I loved the bride’s dress. So elegant.

Didn’t like Kate’s dress. I think it was the high collar. Just seemed too heavy and fussy to me. Loved Raina, Bea, Mary, Maxima and Dr. Jill dresses. Even Princess Elisabeth’s was modern and sleek.

LOL @ the Middletons being there. They really can’t function without each other.

    • Tiffany says:

Rajwa was absolutely stunning in her dress. The tailoring was perfection from shoulders to the train.

She was so beautiful in that dress. Pity she will only wear it once.

      • Mary says:

Hate to say it but I was rather disappointed in her dress, and I usually love everything Elie Saab. Her proportions look off, perhaps she is broad shouldered, and the extra fabric at the bodice seems to shorten her neck. It just looked weird in proportion with the narrower bottom half of the dress. It is the same problem that Kate has. She seems to emphasize her broad shoulders a lot while also emphasizing her narrow hips. It makes Kate look like a gangly teenage (American) football player.

      • Mary says:

I will edit my comment by saying that today it looks like Kate is wearing padding under her peach dress!

  54. Digital Unicorn says:

Catty turned up to the state banquet in her usual tiara and wearing a dusk pink coloured sparkly dress – it matched the colour of her day dress.

Re: the Middletons. Apparently the only ones from the clan invited were Ma, Pippa and her husband – some guy on Twitter is trying to say that the family (Middletons) is friends with Rania but if thats the case the whole clan would have been there. Interesting that it was only those 3 and no Mike. I suspect that they only got an invite because of Pippa’s husband (due to his hedge fund and family holiday property links) and given that Catty has no shame in asking for extra invites she likely asked for one for Ma (or Pippa did). As i say if the connection was the Mids the whole lot of them would have been there which is why I don’t think it is.

PS. I LOVED Rajwa’s evening dress. Rania’s got competition on her hands as Rajwa has style and elegance, she can wear high end fashion well.

    • Digital Unicorn says:

To add the the bride, groom, king, queen and her parents must be tired of all the hand shaking and kissing they are doing with the guests – how many times can you do that to the same people in one day (well mostly the same people).

Also it will be interesting to see if the Mids were are the state banquet – maybe that they were only invited to the reception which had all that wonderful music and dancing.

      • tamsin says:

I remember how rabid the comments were when Doria rode with Harry and Meghan to the Cookbook event, and I think it was at Kensington Palace and they were living at Nott Cott still. So I assume the three Middletons caught a free ride on the private flight to Jordan with the Waleses?

  55. Lee says:

I think Kate looked nice, I like her dress. And the bride very elegant. Lovely pictures so far. Congrats to the Cute couple

  56. Mary says:

Wow, Beatrice is wearing her mother’s tiara – the one she wore at her wedding! Since we didn’t see it at either of her daughters’ wedding, I assumed Sarah had sold it! Or, maybe someone bought it back for Bea 😉

    • Becks1 says:

Oh wow, I also assumed Sarah had sold it long ago! Wonder if Camilla wouldn’t let her borrow a royal tiara?

      • Mary says:

My guess is that if she wore a tiara loaned to her by Charles it would look too much like she was “representing” him – not a good look with all this talk of slimming down the Monarchy! I do wonder why she didn’t wear it for her wedding, it would have gone much better with her wedding dress.

  57. AnneL says:

I actually like Kate’s dress. That rose color is flattering on her, and it flows nicely. It softens the lines of her figure. Her hair OTOH is too much and the earrings are wrong.

The bride’s dress is very structural. I think from some angles it looks stunning and statuesque, but from others not as flattering? She looks gorgeous though.

Ashley Biden has excellent taste. Very simple. She almost always wears neutrals, clean lines. I remember her tuxedo from the inaugural ball. It was so stylish and she accessorized it very well.

  58. QuiteContrary says:

Kate’s evening gown is just boring. There’s nothing interesting about it.

    • IzQ says:

Kate is wearing the exact dress Crown Princess Mary wore in one of the photoshoots for her 50th birthday last year. It just looked better and more chic on CP MARY.

    • Nic919 says:

Her tiara as headband look is also an awful look. Whoever told her that a croydon facelift was the way to go with a tiara is a fool. Beatrice looked much more regal and not like a lost cast member of TOWIE.

      • QuiteContrary says:

        Completely agree on the tiara.

And her dress would work on an older woman — I mean, I could have seen Nancy Reagan wearing it! Kate just has no style.

  59. aquarius64 says:

The Fail had the reception line on film and Billy is telling Kate “Chop, Chop; keep it moving.” Being this rude and in front of other royals. Those crown heads are going to be gossiping about this tonight. And with Kate’s family being there seeing it live. Wills doing it in front of her family is telling everyone he has no respect for her or her family.

    • Caren says:

I didn’t see that. He had to briefly wait for Kate, but he was polite about it.

      • Polo says:

He was not polite. He was trying to rush her. Even the daily mail is calling it out. It’s obvious he was telling her to move it along.

      • Jais says:

He made a very rapid wrap it up motion with his hands and then said “keep going” under his breath. Rude AF considering he spoke to the new bride for 34 sec while Kate only spoke for 12.

  60. j.ferber says:

The pink dress Kate wore copied Queen Rania’s dress at Princess Iman’s wedding. Very similar, except Queen Rania looked so much better. You’re not queen yet, Kate, and hopefully you never will be.

    • ArtFossil says:

Kate uses her wiglets to try to camouflage her horrible posture. She will have a hump in five years.

Sigh. She always looks so dowdy.

  61. Tessa says:

Be a looked better than Kate. The dm headlines ignore the real stars the bride and groom in favor of keen.

  62. starryfish29 says:

Are they officially taking over for Ed & Sophie on the wedding circuit or just for the ones in wealthy arab countries that come with extra gifting opportunities?

  63. Nerd says:

I like the overall look of Kate’s dress. The color and style of the dress is nice, but the sleeve’s length is horrible. They’re entirely too long and look more like sleeves from an extravagant nightgown. Her posture is atrocious. She has the posture of a cave man and her odd placement of the backs of her hands facing forward as she walks completes the caveman feel. She takes any glamour or beauty away from whatever she wears, although the majority (99%) is horrible, just by having the most classless walk of everyone in a room. She might as well wear bell bottoms, a tie dye shirt and have a Great Dane named Scooby Doo following behind her. Her mountain of wiglets would also suit that hippie style better than what she is wearing at the wedding.

I am so done with this woman-and her stans. You cant even enjoy anything (like this stunning bride) without being forced to deal with hundreds of ppl insisting against all common sense that this woman and her hideous outfits were the best thing ever.
I cant even blame William for much anymore. Imagine being with someone who not only constantly spews nonsense but insists on doing so for as long as possible while making bizarre faces to important strangers and forcing others to wait – for 20 years and on top of everything else; I’d be at the very end of my tether too…He was obviously eager to get on 30 seconds in, but he couldnt it without bumping into her or doing what he eventually did, ie snap and tell her to hurry. One day that man is going to run screaming for the hills….

Lol…. the DailyFail is now saying the dress, even though it looks pink and they said it was pink at first *and everyone is saying that) is actually….. gold!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

We called that predictable cooykeening!!! We call it every time.

I am very alarmed indeed to hear that the Middletons were at the Jordan royal wedding. If this is the level of support that KM now needs, I’d advise everyone to exercise caution with their posts going forward. Certainly for the time being.
Things have to be very very bad if it needs her mother & sister with her at such an event. What other guests had to have their in-laws invited for moral support. Something is wrong for the Midds to be there.
Be careful, is all I’m saying.

Maybe it was an ongoing row between the Wails that just continued. Did W have to pay for the Midds to be there? Did he get angry over the cost of CarolE’s outfit? Or did K tantrum because her Dad and brother didn’t get invited?

      Goodness knows.
Still can’t believe the Midds were at what is very much a foreign State occasion, the guests were crowned heads or their representatives and each country would be two invites. A direct analogy would be if Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, invited and attending Charles’s coronation, requested extra invites for her mother, sister & brother in law – it’s unthinkable.
