Alcoholism is a self-diagnosed disease. Until you admit that you're an alcoholic who needs help, you're a drunk. Until you admit you're an addict who needs treatment, you're a junkie. Having a therapist is great, but she needs a sponsor to help her work on Step 1: We admitted that we were powerless over alcohol/drugs & that our lives had become unmanageable. Diagnosis for what? I lost 90 mins of my life I'll never get back watching that Mean Girls travesty thanks to such comments. Ninety whole minutes! And my parents told me that life was a wondrous journey .. all lies .. disillusionment ensued. I'm doing better these days, taking it one day at a time and trying to find joy in the simple things .. flowers, the smile on an upturned child's face, video taping paper bags flying around in the wind. But I (sob) haven't been able to (hick) turn on the tv ever since. .. Lindsay Lohan ruined my life in just (sniffle) NINETY MINUTES.
