Demi Moore twit-pics photo of herself, gets called old and ugly

demi-giraffe

For f-ck’s sake. I’m starting to think Demi Moore is part of some conspiracy to make people care about Twitter and herself, in that order. So, here’s the latest bullsh-t controversy: yesterday, Demi posted a photo of herself with a giraffe on Twitter (photo above), taken while she was doing a photo shoot for Harper’s Bazaar. Apparently, after Demi posted the photo on Twitter’s Twitpics, a couple of douchey commenters began heckling her and calling her “old” and making fun of her neck or whatever. So she responded, on Twitter. And now the sh-t is being reported by Us Weekly. Gah!

Demi Moore has feelings, too.

On Wednesday, frequent Twitter-er Moore shared an outtake from a Tuesday photo shoot on a Santa Monica beach for Harper’s Bazaar. “Had the priviledge [sic] of working with a giraffe yesterday he was beautiful gentle and so amazing!” the 47 year-old actress wrote.

Immediately, Twitter followers chimed in with critiques: “sorrydemi that your self esteem is so low you can’t admit to a little Photoshopping,” one follower sniped, adding “And Ghost sucked.” (Retweeting the dig, Moore wrote “Thank you”).

A few hours later, another follower wrote, “sorry but you look old. specially your neck & cheecks at the second shot..”

This time, Moore posted a more pointed retort: “I’m 47 how am I supposed to look?”

In between the insults, the actress and wife to Ashton Kutcher received words of support. “WOW you look beautiful!!” wrote one fan.

A friend named “earthhealer” soothingly said, “never let those who try 2hurt U in..we all feel small sometimes Know UR fabulous loveable &Wanted!”

Moore has frequently denied that she’s resorted to plastic surgery to retain her youthful appearance. She also fought charges that, for a recent W magazine cover, editors Photoshopped her head on the body of a younger model with slimmer hips.

[From Us Weekly]

Look, I think Demi is crazy, I think she’s had a lot of work done, I think she’s a liar, and I think she’s delusional to think we won’t notice. That being said, the picture that she posted was rather beautiful, and I don’t get why anyone would heckle her for it. What makes it worse is that she responded and gave those losers the attention they wanted. And, of course, she got some attention herself. Which is what it’s all about.

I’m not a PETA person, but there is a part of me that is sort of annoyed that the giraffe was subjected to all of this.

  2. princess pea says:

Hey, Demi, if you want to post every facet of your life on Twitter, if you want to work hard with your hubby to get as many followers to see and hear your tweets as you can –

Well, then they might have feedback that isn’t entirely ass-kissery. Sorry about that? No, no wait I’m not sorry. You fucking asked for it.

  3. Scribe says:

    Blech. Too skinny.

  4. Sumodo says:

(Channelling Kathy Griffin): “Demi can go suck it!”

  5. bros says:

im with you kaiser. she is delusional.

  6. lucy2 says:

I don’t get her. She looks great, but should just admit she had some stuff done, because everyone KNOWS it happened, just like everyone KNOWS that pic a few weeks ago was photoshopped. Continual denial only makes her look foolish.
While I think it’s gross of people to send her messages like that, she certainly opens herself up to it by putting it all out there.

  7. Popcorny says:

    “Working with … “?
    Was the giraffe “modeling/posing” too?
Looks like the poor animal was just a prop and excuse to send out a dimly-lit pic of herself that doesn’t focus close on her sags and wrinkles.
    She gets sadder every day.

  8. Cinderella says:

I’m starting to feel sorry for the gal. She always seemed confident. Now she seems vulnerable.

  9. Firestarter says:

I don’t think people were heckling her for that specific photo that she posted, I think people are just sick of her posting every thing in her life on Twitter, as well as telling others how they should live their lives.

I have checked out her Twitter page and both she and Kutcher constantly tell people what they should eat, what they should read, how they should vote, feel about political issues, religion, etc. It isn’t just suggestions, it is always done in a manner like they know what is best, and the rest of the world are simply peons, lucky to be reading their tweets.

Like another poster said, if you insist on posting every little aspect of your life for the public to see, then expect that not everyone is going to be kissing your ass, even if you think they should.

The internet can be a mean place, and no one should be upset when they get comments from faceless strangers. Read them, comment back if you like, ignore, whatever, but at teh end of the day, they are only strangers. Who cares what they say.

I don’t think she looks bad at all, but even I will admit that some people take the “posting EVERYTHING on twitter” to the extreme. Its fine for networking, but when you have those who use it as a megaphone to broadcast evry detail of their day, its too much.

    But Demi looks fine here.

  11. stinabelle says:

I can’t even see her neck or cheeks in that picture.

And I feel bad for the giraffe more than anything. 🙁

  12. Neelyo says:

She’s lucky there’s a character limit, they could have said much worse.

I agree with princess pea. You go on Twitter, you deal with the twits.

  13. LolaBella says:

I love it when the pretentious bullshit of those who believe their own hype hits them in the face. *SNICKERS*

She knows that engaging the negative commenters would garner her publicity. If she didn’t want to deal with it she could have just blocked the person and deleted the comment, instead she wants to have a little bit of a Twitter Skirmish for the publicity.

I’m sure Ashton is now meeting with the programming execs at MTV to turn this whole thing into some dreadful pseudo-reality show.

  14. Sudini says:

I like that she said nice things about the giraffe – the poor thing couldn’t be further from it’s intended home than a beach in Malibu…

And I think she looks great, but her use of twitter annoys me to no end, and I’m sure she lies about not having any work done.

Still, there is no excuse for those negative comments – they’re just classless and rude.

Those commenters are typical cowards who get off on being anonymous and saying hurtful things that they’d never think to say to someone’s face.

Socially retarded doesn’t begin to describe it.

  15. Judy says:

Have zero interest in Twitter and have never even tried it, because it seems ridiculous to me that people are so self-absorbed that they think other people give a rat’s a$$ about their every move. And Ashton Kutcher makes me want to toss my cookies…IMO he cannot act and looks totally effeminate. Those two deserve each other.

  16. girlygirl410 says:

What ever happened to “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all”?

I don’t agree with her posting her life story on Twitter. However, if people don’t like her, then they need not follow her on Twitter. It really is that easy.

  17. diva says:

Who does she think she is fooling? Anyone can look at her and tell she has had work done, she looked older when she first got into Hollywood. So she has had some very good surgeons who should recieve proper credit.

  18. MJ says:

In terms of whether she’s had any work done, all you need to do is watch one of her earlier movies and it’s quite obvious. Her face not only hasn’t aged, it looks different. Her nose is different. Her jaw/chin looks different. You hit the nail on the head when you said she’s delusional if she thinks it’s not noticeable.

That said, I think she looks fantastic. Yes, maybe a little skinny, but overall she’s gorgeous. I just don’t think it’s very responsible or credible for her to lie about whether she’s had any work done. Also, it’s just plain disingenuous.

  19. la chica says:

so she’s joined her son in being a twitter whore. how sad.

  20. abby says:

Ok, so here’s what happened: Demi’s lawyers sent an email to ONTD to ‘cease and desist’, because there was a post about the W cover and how it was obviously photoshopped, anyways her camp denied it and so everyone got pissed off that she would threaten legal action over something so petty and dumb. Then everyone on ONTD decided to bombard her with mean twitters.

  21. Okay, what bothers me is that her tweet was missing a comma. Sheesh.

  22. Kathie says:

She is prettier than her kids…just sayin

  23. ligeia says:

so basically if anyone has a twitter or facebook or myspace or any other social networking site it means they’re fair target for anonymous cowards who get off by being nasty to other people in hopes of making themselves feel better by ruining someones day? i don’t care for demi or ashton, they’re not high up there as far as annoying celebrity couples go (speidi anyone?), but i don’t support cowardice and bullying people while hiding behind a monitor. supporting the lesser of two evils, i guess…

  24. annie says:

why is she posing for magazines? she is irrelevant.

  25. jabberwock says:

It doesn’t look to me like she’s done any serious work on her face – botox, chemical peel at the most – and that’s not plastic surgery.

  26. pixiegirl says:

I don’t care that she tweets – mainly because I don’t read things that annoy me. If it annoys you, then don’t read it! Geez!

  27. Pia says:

I dunno, Firestarter. If they’re tired of her tweeting her life they should perhaps consider not following her. They are making an active choice to follow her and then heckle. That seems like a waste of time.

  28. AliG says:

She needs to get a life. The ego of celebrities can only be appreciated on Twitter. Only on Twitter can celebrity intellect be appreciated for what it is: pea sized brains who need approval every minute of the day.
Demi, retire or STFU, but I’m tired of looking at airbrushed anorexics on magazine covers.

  29. hairball says:

I feel sorry too when animals are used as props in pics. The giraffe looks ‘sad’ – yes, I know you can’t really know. But it’s just wrong to put a leash on an animal, take them out of their natural environment just so you can make them take a picture. It just seems wrong.

  30. MJ says:

Doesn’t she consider her boobjob plastic surgery?

  31. Cindy Kennedy says:

Demi Moore needs to accept the fact that she is a has-been.

  32. For Sooth? says:

Twitter, facebook, it’s all self absorbed crap. I stay as far away from that personal stuff as I can. It creeps me out that people live that way. It’s just a gigantic narcissistic mind f*ck.

  33. Phowie says:

I wonder how much work that giraffe has had done on its neck to keep it so young and slender! Demi was just asking for trouble posing alongside such a natural beauty.

  34. Raven says:

I’m with jabberwock, but if she’s had much botox, whoever does it is much better than the doc who does Nicole Kidman and a lot of other women.

The thing that gets me is people who look at a couple of photos and all of a sudden they are plastic surgeons, experts on the work that has been done.

  35. lucy2 says:

@ligeia I think it’s a whole different thing when you’re talking about a celebrity who willingly goes online as themselves, not anonymously, in a scenario where they’re opening themselves up for public comment (there are ways to make your postings and stuff private). Is it fair for people to be so rude? Probably not. But no one is forcing her to do it either.

I think what probably bothers a lot of people is the way she and Ashton constantly use it to keep them relevant and in the news.

  36. katyusha says:

A giraffe on a beach? I can’t think of a more unnatural place for that animal.

  37. crash2GO2 says:

Actually, in Tanzania, giraffes and elephants wander the beaches.

  38. NicoleAM says:

I recently saw an ad for (I think) a perfume she’s promoting, and she looked about 25 in the pic. We all know the magic of photoshop, and it’s obvious she’s had work done and doesn’t just drink water or some sh*t like that. Personally, I think if she had fessed up to it and not denied having work or being airbrushed ppl would be much kinder with their comments. But she feverishly denies plastic surgery claims. I think that’s where the hostility from ppl comes from.

  39. Kevin says:

Crash, you are freakin awesome. All these maroons, “Aw, look the poor giraffe at the beach.” Everybody loves the beach,,,everybody.

  40. fizXgirl314 says:

Demi Moore is a fucking dumbass… GET OFF TWITTER BITCH, YOU’RE A GROWN WOMAN… what bothers me even more is her inability to punctuate properly and use correct grammar AT HER AGE… grow the efff uppp… effing shit, this woman bothers me… I thought she had some semblance of class, but ever since I’ve seen her “twittering” abilities, I have really lost all respect for her… twit indeed… moron!

  41. fizXgirl314 says:

and that poor giraffe looks really sad… I hope it bites off her silicon tit…

  42. Mike says:

    Wow.
It’s disgusting – the thuggery that exposes itself through some who feel protected by the anonymity of posting comments. Life is short – treat people with respect or, as my mother always said don’t say anything at all.
