This is kind of amazing. Dean Sheremet filed for divorce from LeAnn Rimes on Friday, and by the following Monday night, they had figured out their divorce settlement in total, had a date for the finalization of their divorce, and had made a “confidential” filing of all of the paperwork. This might go down in history as one of the fastest divorce processes ever. It makes me wonder if Dean and LeAnn had already figured out what Dean was getting way before he ever filed the paperwork. It would make sense – they likely had a prenup, and I bet LeAnn threw in some generous “starting over” money for Dean’s new life in New York. But we’ll never know, because neither is telling.
The same day Deane Sheremet filed for divorce from LeAnn Rimes Dec. 17, the two reached a confidential divorce settlement, according to Los Angeles court records.
“The [settlement] shall not be filed in this proceeding due to the parties mutual desire to maintain their respective rights to privacy,” the document states.
The two are likely dividing their cash, property and other valuables.
Their divorce is expected to be finalized June 19, 2010.
Their nearly eight-year marriage ended after Rimes had a relationship with her Lifetime movie costar Eddie Cibrian, who was wed to Brandi Glanville at the time.
Cibrian and Glanville are also divorcing.

What do you think Dean got? My guess is something in the neighborhood of a cool $5 million settlement, or something spread out over several years. I doubt Dean gets much more than that, even though he’s stayed so quiet after being publicly cuckolded. Sidenote: Do people still say things like “cuckolded”? I think I read that in a romance novel. Not that I read those. Never. Okay, once.

Hopefully everything was amicable and he’s able to move on and not be bitter, and she’s able to move on until she or Eddie eventually cheat on each other with someone else, and the cycle begins again.

since, according to rumor, this was a business/beard type arrangement, they very likely had a settlement figured out before they even got married because they knew, at some point in time, the arrangement would end.

Let us summarize: LR Paid Off husband number one and is in the process of Buying husband number two….is there a term for this type of behavior? Seems like EC has already received (as part of His sale), dirt bike, Hermes watch, assorted gear from Chrome Hearts, living rent free and that probably includes all household expenses…and all he has to do is….you know what. By selling himself to LR, has EC made a deal with the devil? No wonder why she is smirkin’ all the time, she knows she can buy whomever she wants 🙁
Good for this little boy. I hope he took advantage of Chief Squinty McHomewrecker. And guilt makes people generous so she probably was. I know my ex was. Had I known he had been cheating, I would have left him penniless, but what goes around comes around and you cannot put a price on that.

@ Sumodo – Maybe I’m splitting hairs on this, but yeah he was cuckolded. She had to option to divorce him before stepping out with Eddie. She didn’t. Even if he knew and gave her a high five on her way out the door, by the true definition of the word he was a cuckold.
Poor girl…clearly this is her first foray into a *real* sexual relationship and it’s knocked her for a loop. When the endorphins wear off, she’s gonna look around and see what huge mistakes she’s making right now. I don’t envy her, that she’s 27 , inexperienced, and the world gets to see this situation unfolding—it’s so seedy but she has no clue. Dean knew the deal and for him to claim he’s all “heartbroken” is bullshite.
I think the $5 mil is low. His name is on the Nashville mansion so that’s $3.5 mil right there. His name is also on books, songs, and videos so he has done well. After 8 years of LeAnn’s BS I’m sure the settlement is close to $10 mil. I understand the desire for privacy but LeAnn craves attention and this divorce would have been good for another 6 months. Maybe the quick settlement was a legal procedural thing but maybe Deane has a big bag of crap on her and he called her bluff. He was about to throw that bag into the public arena and LeAnn folded. Big bag of crap is my guess.
Val, I was kind of thinking the same thing. To settle that quickly, it almost sounds like be quiet, go away quickly money. I’m sure there’s some sort of clause that prevents him from writing a tell all or something too.
Either that, or yeah, they had this all agreed to ages ago.
I would also like to comment on “poor, naive, innocent, married-too-young, and well intentioned LeAnn Rimes”. To that I say CRAP-O-LA. In the past year she has shown us nothing but lies, meanness, arrogance, deceipt, and manipulation. STOP thinking this scheming little bitch is Margaret Rimes. LeAnn is a full blooded hardcore spoiled manipulator who puts on a happy-go-lucky routine when she gets what she wants but she’s a mean and vicious person who feels the ends justify the means when there is something she wants. She doesn’t care about the pain she causes as long as in the end she gets her way.

My initial reaction on such a quick settlement was “what does he have on her”, but they could have been negotiating for a while before filing, so who knows.

uhH Dean is gay and they never had a marriage so to speak. He walked away with lots of money that he didnt earn and she stood by him while everyone was telling her he is gay. It was a farce and Dean knows it so the only thing he is heartbroken about is there wont be any more cash flowing his wway. And Brandy needs to tell the truth that their marriage was all but over before he meet LR. She knew about his other girlfriends and was in his face and Eddie didnt happen to give a damn if she cared or not..he was done long before LR appeared in the picture.

They each have independent, long-standing histories of commenting under the same, unique, IP address and same e-mail addresses on stories that have nothing to do Eddie or Leann. There is no way they are the same person. Due to excessive inappropriate comment reports on all of these Leann Rimes stories, I have put up filters on the gmail account for the comment reports so that it will filter out all comment reports from these stories. Please find something better to do.
