Glee cast to perform at White House

Glee Cast Celebrates Naya Rivera's Birthday At Jet Nightclub
The cast of Glee has been invited to perform at the annual White House Easter Egg Roll. First Lady Michelle Obama invited them and EW’s Ausiello reports that Michelle and her daughters Malia, 10, and Sasha, 8, are big fans.

Being the president’s wife apparently has its perks.

Sources confirm to me exclusively that First Lady Michelle Obama has invited the cast of Glee to perform at the annual White House Easter Egg Roll on Monday, April 5 — and, barring any last-minute glitches, they’re gonna do it!

Rumor has it Mrs. O and her daughters are big fans of the show. And since a White House gig is an offer that’s pretty darn hard to refuse, Glee’s producers did some lickety-split schedule rejiggering in order to honor the request.

All in all, not a bad stretch for the Glee club: Glee The Music Volume 1 just debuted at No. 1 on the UK album charts, ahead of the ubiquitous Lady Gaga!

What do you think, folks? Do you already have your trip to D.C. booked? Are you salivating at the prospect of a Puck/Michelle Obama photo op? Sound off below!

[From EW]

The Jonas Brothers must have been busy. The Glee cast has been tweeting about how excited they are to perform for the President, and E! Online has a recap if you’re interested. I’ve been seeing ads for the new season of Glee on Fox and it’s like a big tease because the show doesn’t come back until April 13. All the ads do is remind me that it’s tax season.

Meanwhile there’s speculation that Michelle Obama is “too sexy” for a first lady. I think she does casual and semi-dressy well with grace and a modern twist. Sometimes her fashion is a little too risky, but she doesn’t cross that line too often and I would call it more contemporary than sexy. Hollywood Life reports that Michelle wore a sleeveless black dress, vampy eyeshadow and her hair slung over her eyes at the Governor’s Ball. I think she looks fabulous! (Photo below)

Well of course they love Glee, who can blame them? And I have to admit, it’s an act with much wider appeal than a teenybopper boy band.

But poor Michelle. I honestly cannot remember the last time a First Lady’s wardrobe was so consistently reported on, let alone criticized. She has awesome taste, and I’m glad she dresses like an urban professional as opposed to putting on some persona that’s not her. She IS a successful professional, just one who happens to be married to he President of the USA.

I love Glee! I bet they’re all very excited at the chance to go to the White House.

Wow, I think Michelle looks great in that photo! They make it sound like she was running around like Britney Spears or something, but I think she looks very elegant and contemporary.

Oh the lucky things (the Obamas)! Although many of the songs are absolutely horrific, I do adore that programme.

It is a very sad reflection on our society when an accomplished woman such as Michelle Obama gets reduced down to the mere status of a hangar. Could you imagine treating Eleanor Roosevelt that way and the appearance and behaviour of women was far more censured in the 1940s! Some reporters would do well to remember that society-at-large stopped being terrified by women’s exposed wrists and ankles in the 1920s.

For God’s sake, must all First Ladies all be grinning dormice like Jackie Kennedy? What good did her beautiful style do her – two philandering husbands and a rumoured eating disorder? Give me Michelle O’s bare arms any day!

Glee-they are so refreshing, they must be so tickled to be at the White House

Mobama looks hot and smart as a whip too, the Prez is a lucky dude.

Seriously, Michelle looks great and she is awesome. Let’s talk about her achievements rather than what she’s wearing.

  6. Trillion says:

“Too sexy”? Jeez. Women can’t catch a break! Either ugly, dowdy (Hilary Clinton) or too sexy (Michelle Obama).

  7. Moore says:

I kinda hate this show. My sister keeps trying to get me into it but I can’t.

Don’t watch Glee, but I probably should.

I don’t appreciate the trashing of Jackie Kennedy. She was reflecting her time like Michelle Obama reflects hers. That is a fantastic photo of the First Lady, one of the best I’ve ever seen. Also, I’d like to see the link where someone is calling her too sexy.

  13. Hey! I know this is somewhat off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are you using for this website? I’m getting tired of WordPress because I’ve had issues with hackers and I’m looking at alternatives for another platform. I would be fantastic if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.
