Doesn’t Nicole Kidman look beautiful? Look at how flawless her hair, makeup and outfit are! She doesn’t look washed-out, she doesn’t look frozen, she doesn’t look like she’s on something. Gorgeous! I’m starting to wonder if someone might have sat down with Nicole and had a heart-to-heart discussion about what she was doing to her beautiful face. I can see actually movement as she smiles – and there are actual wrinkles there too! Of course, she’s still doing that crap to her lips. But I’ll forgive it because her hair is amazing and the color of her dress is so pretty on her.
Anyway, this was Nicole last night at the Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards, where she presented an award to her Nine director Rob Marshall. Here’s more from the Daily Mail:
It’s not just the actors and actresses that are praised for their talent during the busy award ceremony season. And they are more than happy to honour those who enhance their performances and their beauty with their stunning on-screen costumes.
With the Baftas last weekend and the Oscars coming up on March 7, Hollywood’s leading ladies had a week spare in which it was time for the behind-the-scenes cast to be recognised.
Nicole Kidman and Emily Blunt were among those attending the 12th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards in Beverly Hills last night.
They were joined by actresses Kristen Bell, Parker Posey, Anna Paquin and Glee star Jayma Mays at the annual event, which took place this year at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The ceremony recognises the work of costume designers in films, TV and adverts, and is sponsored by Swarovski. And with the focus of the evening on costumes and outfits, the ladies made sure they looked elegant in their couture as they posed for pictures as they arrived.
Looking stunning in a figure-hugging red dress that showed off her strawberry blonde locks, Nicole, 42, teamed her simple yet chic outfit with a pair of turquoise peep-toed shoes.
She was there to pay tribute to Nine’s director Rob Marshall, who she awarded the Distinguished Collaborator Award.

In other Nicole news, she’s just signed on to an Adam Sandler comedy! It’s that same one Jennifer Aniston signed on for a few months ago, originally called The Pretend Wife. It’s been renamed Just Go For It, which I think is probably a tagline trademarked by Nike, so this film will probably have yet another name-change. Anyway, Nicole joins Aniston, Sandler and Brooklyn Decker in the film which is about “Sandler recruiting Aniston to pose as his soon-to-be-divorced wife and her kids as his fake family in order to land the girl of his dreams. Kidman’s role is under wraps but is rumored to be cameo in nature. Decker plays Sandler’s dream girl.” Haha, Kidman has a cameo? What, is she the idealized “pretend wife”? Cough Tom Cruise cough cough. By the way, note to producers: The Pretend Wife is much catchier than Just Go For It.

not sure, but is there something off about her right cheek (what’s on our left side, when looking at photos of her)? It seems slightly puffed up/droopy somehow. It’s most noticeable on the first and third of the photos here, and not at all in the second (closest headshot).

the wormy lip thing STILL freaks me out.
normal, natural lips do NOT bulge out like that when you smile.
speaking of smiling, the ONLY thing that “moves” on her face when she smiles (as evidenced in that top photo) is her mouth. Oh, and her neck tendons, because she hasn’t botoxed them.
but the skin around her eyes doesn’t move, and her forehead doesn’t either.
she still looks so severe to me, and her face used to be so much softer and prettier.
EDIT to multikulti…my guess is that it’s a rogue/sagging cheek implant.

I’ve always liked Nicole, and I am so very happy for her, her husband and their baby. I hope they’re able to have another baby, as I know she’s wanted babies for so long.

You’re right, she looks better. She was wallowing in Michael Jackson territory for awhile. She has stopped trying to look “whiter”. Her natural freckles made her stand out, I thought.

She looks great here! Love the dress. Love the style of the shoes, but… that color?! Who keeps pairing wacko colored shoes with clothes? I see this on actress after actress. If I left the house like that, I’d feel like I looked completely “off” and like, “Oh, there’s that woman who closed her eyes and grabbed some shoes.”

She looks absolutely gorgeous with her back-close-to-natural hair color, fab makeup, clear eyes, terrific dress. I’m hopeful she’ll have seen the light now on her appearance. I can’t help thinking Keith thinks she looks much better, too.

Pardon me, but what ‘difference’ is everyone else seeing? She still looks frozen, I see no discernible wrinkles, and she still has a forehead so smooth you could screen a movie on it. She’s a beautiful woman, and I wish I had that flawless look, but how on earth is she looking more ‘natural?’ I don’t see it.

I do think she looks a little less botoxed. It takes about six months for that stuff to wear off and I think her face guy has switched to fillers, as mentioned above. They are less noticeable than botox. She does look slightly less waxed.
It will take even longer for the lips to get back to normal but I doubt she will return to her “skinny” lips. She may just put less stuff in them from now on.
Re: the movie . . . I don’t see what good having Nicole in that movie will do. It has been a very long time since Nicole had a hit. She even got bad reviews for “Nine.” Well, everybody but Fergie got bad reviews for that trainwreck, but poor Nicole got the absolute worse reviews of them all!! Why would anybody want her in a movie, cameo or not?

She finally looks like an older version of the girl who starred in Dead Calm so long ago (great movie!) and not a completely different person. I didn’t love the ice queen style, but I’ve always loved her — glad she’s back. She looks very happy and relaxed.

Brooklyn Decker? She’s 23!!! And soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo *takes a breath* ooooooooooooooooooooooooooo out of his league, even in his younger days. I’m so sick of the hot girl/fat+ugly guy dichotomy Hollywood perpetuates. I’m not saying it doesn’t happen (it does), but I find the “Seth Rogen: fat schlub with a heart of gold, but look at how much he tries!” character incredibly annoying.

Most of it is the much better hair colour. She had it blonde for a while and it looked horrible on her. Also, maybe she changed make-up artists. The one she had before was leaving blobs of white all over her face. She looks incredible now, anyway.

You know I think it’s mostly her hair color which warms her up – it’s a great color for her. In the last photo she otherwise looks quite similar to how she has looked lately, but I agree that she looks more animated in the third. She’s SO much more appealing when she relaxes – like during her giggly tribute to Simon Baker. For a long time it’s felt like she’s tense, trying too hard, being too controlled.

I blame the Chanel contract: after she worked with those fashion crazies, she want from naturally stunning, beautiful redhead to scrawny, botoxed and washed-out blonde.
Hope Karl doesn’t mess up Lily Allen (although I already hate the way they funhouse-mirrored her in the ads to slim her out and, as she was apparently still visually objectionable to them, had her hide behind bags).

… Absolutely adore this color on her. It reminds me of how hot she was in Practical Magic back in the day, playing the “bad” sister to Sandra Bullock’s “good”. Ah, those were the days.
I think pregnancy helped her loosen up a bit, she looks more normal and not so… tight. I love Nicole Kidman, and think she is a wonderful actor, really respected and reliable.

Come on people, she still looks like tiny aliens are probing her constantly. And the lips are frightening by anyone’s standards. That’s the prob with fillers, once you start you can’t stop because of the whole cave-in phenomenon. Freeballing lobes occur (see fig. 1)
But hey redheads do look better with red hair- I’ll buy that. Ive never understood why she’d pay someone to make her hair the same colour as her forehead.
The big vanity thing that I just cant get past with this piece, and the one that really makes me want to push her into traffic is the whole ‘small eye awareness syndrome’ – she has little eyes which don’t photograph well, and to overcompensate she always keeps them too wide open, which unsettles me. Can I just say that she looks nutty and neurotic??? Maybe I should have just said that.

I love her red hair but she has really changed over the years. Not just by getting old, she really seems to have transformed herself totally from what she was once.
Here are some face to face pictures where you can really notice the tremendous differences (a la Megan Fox), like she is a total different person.

The ‘corded’ neck is actually a set of four vertical muscles, usually seen in much older women. It can indicate that she is too thin or that she has had neck work done. She is starting to look like Lee Remick. Her looks have changed due to surgical procedures of various sorts. Guess in Hollywood the normal age to start surgery is decades younger than for average people. Her hair looks best RED, like in Moulin Rouge. I think she is literally a witchcraft practitioner and a bit ‘off’ but objectively speaking, she has a true range of credibility in her acting. Not a bad singing voice, either. Can you imagine Sandra Bullock or Julia Roberts in Moulin Rouge? Catherine Zeta Jones was a contender for the part of Satine, and I feel she would have also done a splendid job, as she is a real actress like Nicole and not a bubble head like most of the rest.
