I think these two may have gotten Oprah’s blessing! Yesterday, both Jessica Simpson and Jeremy Renner appeared on Oprah-related shows, and then they hung out together and “flirted up a storm” at a pre-Oscar party in Hollywood last night. Gah! Jess and Jeremy? It could happen, I suppose. I don’t really know anything about my guy or his type, and the only other woman he’s been associated with publicly is Charlize Theron. So maybe he likes blondes. And Charlize is too statuesque for him, so he decided to go for a pocket blonde, like Jessica. Here’s more, from People:

Simspon, who lives next door, arrived with hairdresser Ken Paves. But she spent most of her time with the Oscar nominee.
“Jeremy spent the night hitting on Jessica like crazy,” the source says. “They were really flirting up a storm.” Paves encouraged the two and, the source says, “Jessica loved it!”
When the party was over, the two exchanged numbers, entering them into their phones.

As I said, I could see it. They would make some kind of strange sense together, and Jeremy does seem like a pretty nice guy. He’s musical too! Jessica will like that. And Jeremy will like her boobs.
Regarding their appearances on Oprah-related shows, Jessica actually got to sit down with The Oprah and talk about John Mayer and the mom jeans, et cetera. Oprah had most of Jessica’s quotes online yesterday (which we already covered), but I enjoyed watching the full interview. Jessica came across well, I think. True, she never seems very bright, and yesterday was no exception. But she seems like a sweet girl, and a young woman who is struggling to be a good person, and to be strong and resilient. I liked her even more after the interview.
As for Jeremy’s interview (done by Ben Affleck) on Oprah’s pre-Oscar special, I was a little “meh” on him. He seems like a sweetheart, I guess, but the whole thing with Ben Affleck just seemed very uncomfortable. I’m guessing that the two guys are actually quite friendly, but they had never really hung out, buddy-buddy. Here’s a short clip from it:

Yay for Jessica! Bless her heart, she seems so sweet but just a bit dim. Ridiculously pretty, 10lbs up or down, and I hope this guy is a sweetheart to her. Billy scared me, Mayer is a douche, and if she truly hooked up with Johnny Knoxville and whoever else, all I can say is ewww.
I think they would be great together. He is the kind of guy who would treat Jessica with love and respect (unlike her douchey exes like John Mayer and Tony Romo) which she deserves. And he needs a girl he can depend on- shes such a beautiful and sweet girl, she has always come across to me as being very loyal and loving in her relationships on. I hope they get together!
Aw, I kind of like this. I don’t know anything about Jeremy Renner aside from the scattering of press and interviews I’ve been reading/seeing lately, but he seems funny and smart.
I think Jess needs to have a litmus test…if a dude is willing to hold hands with her in public (and look cheerful about it) then we have liftoff. She’s been with too many guys who think she’s “sexual napalm” but are embarrassed as hell to be in public with her. She deserves much better than that!
