Some big names stepped out for The Laureus Sports Awards in Adu Dhabi on Wednesday. First, let’s do the dress pr0n. Gwyneth “I love a Goopy Sport” Paltrow stepped out in this absolutely fantastic one-shoulder goddess gown. The detailing on this dress is so beautiful that I like Gwyneth more, so that should tell you something. But that’s always something I’ve given Gwyneth credit for – whether she’s doing high fashion at the Oscars or showing off her outer goddess at some random sports awards show (really, Goop?), she’s always interesting on a red carpet. Here’s another shot of her (but more importantly, her dress!):
Happening now: Gwyneth Paltrow – who wast spotted singingKilling Me Softly at a karaoke bar in Nashville last weekend – is now in Abu Dhabi for the annual Laureus Sports Awards event.
Kevin Spacey hosted the show, and stars including Hugh Grant, Clive Owen, Kyle MacLachlan and Michelle Rodriguez were on hand to see Serena Williams named Sportswoman of the Year and Sprinter Usain Bolt was named Laureus World Sportsman of the Year.
We’ll see Gwyneth next in Iron Man 2, out May 7.

Yeah, I don’t really care. I still think it’s totally random that Gwyneth would go to Abu Dhabi for a sports awards ceremony. Do you think she got some amazing appearance fee, like she most likely got for the appearance at a Moroccan boutique opening over Thanksgiving? Probably. Snotty, goopy musings don’t pay the bills, you know. Sniff.
And now, for some actual pr0n that we can all enjoy. I give you just a taste of Clive Owen, who was also there. Mm… sexy beast.

That dress is gorgeous and she looks terrific in it – from the neck to her toes. But what is up with her hair? Its god-awful. That dress calls for a more elegant style.

I love that gown. LOVE it. There were a lot of gowns like that at the Oscars last year, and I loved all of them too. I’m just a sparkly gown kind of girl, I guess.
TOTALLY random event, I think it screams appearance fee.
I do love Clive Owen, but is there something…Tom Hanks-ish about him in those photos? Or is it just too early in the morning for me to be looking at photos of him?

Wow, she looks gorgeous. Fabulous dress, and Gwyneth has been a style icon long before the teeny boppers like Taylor Swift came around! Sparkly dresses have been around since the dawn of time.
But I agree, the hair color is pretty, but the half up half down with the braids pulled back is not working for me with the dress. Too Hiedi.

I really love Gwynnie. Really! But I’m starting to worry about her. I mean, why is she making these red carpet appearances at these random events? The hotel opening was bad enough but why in the world did she show up at a sports award thing? It’s just so down market! If she wants some PR I’m sure she could have gotten a ticket or two to the Oscars. Why, Gwynnie? Maybe she’ll explain in the next GOOP.
She does look gorgeous though. The dress is beautiful. I can always depend on My Gwynnie to look good on the RC.
