Miley Cyrus has been out giving some of the most interesting interviews of her young career, all to promote her first non-Hannah Montana film, The Last Song. Sidenote: Greg Kinnear plays Miley’s dad in the film, and I want to know how badly Kinnear needed money to do it. Does he have gambling debts or something? Anyhoodle, in most interviews, Miley has been yammering on in her lovesick way about her boyfriend and costar Liam Hemsworth. First we found out that the two of them are “deeper than normal people”. Then we found out that Miley loved Liam because, unlike everyone else in her life, Liam doesn’t need Miley to “make him famous”.
In this new interview with Hollywood Life, Miley stops talking about her boyfriend for two seconds to mouth off about how she’s going to be a real actress, and how she has to be “careful, in a sense, to not lose who I am or the Miley Cyrus factor, by going to do other characters.” So basically she wants to keep milking the Hannah Montana thing while simultaneously starting her “real” career. Sidenote: What is “The Miley Cyrus Factor” again? Talking like you’ve always got a big wad of gum in your mouth?
The Last Song is a big deal for Miley Cyrus. Not only is it a huge romantic movie, but it’s also her first real step away from Hannah Montana. “I’ve gone these last five years … with everyone telling me what to do,” she said at a press conference March 13. “Now it’s up to me, and what I think is right in my career, so I’m just going in my own direction.”
And part of that ‘new direction’ includes putting music on the back burner, and focusing on her career on the big screen!
“This film was the test for me to decide what I really wanted to do, and I love making movies,” she confessed. “That’s what I want to pursue. It’s not that I don’t love music. I love music. If every film could have music, I would do that. But I feel like I just need to get away from that for a little while. It’s my security blanket and I don’t want to always fall back on that.”
“I have to be careful, in a sense, to not lose who I am or the Miley Cyrus factor, by going to do other characters,” she said. “I still want [my fans] to know who I am, but I want to extend my audience. I want to continue to do what I love, but also give myself new challenges and not just be the same person, over and over.”
Miley also spilled the secret to knowing if a guy is right for her — it all depends on whether or not he can handle her crazy family!
“My parents are a little loco,” Miley admits. “If you love me and my family, which has five kids, my mom, my dad, my grandma and about 10,000 dogs … then you’re good. You’re a keeper.”
But even though Miley loves making movies, don’t expect another big-screen version of Hannah Montana anytime soon… or ever.
“The Hannah Montana wig is out as soon as we finish that last episode,” Miley enthusiastically told reporters. “One will be in a museum and one will be burned, or something. I can’t put it on again. It’s just too much.”
[From Hollywood Life]
“My parents are a little loco” is the understatement of the year. When you put it in that context, I kind of think Liam deserves a medal for dating Miley. Not just dating her, but changing her for the better. Miley’s entitled-teenager craziness has been much more subdued since meeting and falling for Liam, and she seems to be maturing (for the better) before our eyes. Here’s hoping that she loses that annoying “Miley Cyrus factor” and actually tries to make it as a genuine actress.
She has such a pretty little profile:

well, honey, you can’t be a real actress since you don’t have real talent. i hate this bucktoothed hillbilly.

I think the “Miley Factor” is her hugely devote tween fanbase. They (and their parents wallets) have made her a millionaire.

Why do I always hear the Deliverance theme when I see this skank? I probably wouldn’t hate her so much if she at LEAST made the effort to stand up straight and quit chomping on her wad of gum at, oh I don’t know- THE ACADEMY AWARDS! I say teenage mother at 18.

Meh, on Miley, lol about the loco parents comments. Yeah gum chewing-Sarah Jessica Parker was also chewing her cud at the Oscars. Classy.

I can’t even look at her without cringing….is she EVER going to stand up straight????

The Miley Cyrus factor is what enables her to still be profitable (even more so) with all her teenager-faux paus. She made like $30-$50 million last year.
She clearly has a point. I wouldn’t want to lose it either. And she really is quite pretty.

“If every film could have music, I would do that.”
Well Miley, just about every film DOES have music, and someone who oversees its use in the film. Please go back to your gold-plated trailer now.

Translation of the “Miley Factor” => “Hannah $$$ Montana”

She’ll never be a real actress. Just can’t happen. Not only does she simply lack the talent, but she’s worked so hard to make herself synonymous with Hannah Montana that at this point it’s nearly impossible to seperate the two.

Really, she’s beautiful in a sense (lol). and has a great shape but.. she just said that she didn’t want to be one of those girls who do everything and can’t to everything.. but isn’t she just doing the same? I guess the loco’s factor is the one she has to lose.

She has no talent, and is not attractive.
Not all successful actresses have talent, but they make up for it my having good looks. Sadly, Miley has neither so I don’t see her career going anywhere.
She was passably cute in child roles because no matter how unattractive a child is, they’re still cute because they’re children. That doesn’t work when you are an adult.

POSTURE!!! Real actresses stand up straight! i am sorry – it just really bothers me!
but as for being a serious actress… we will take you serious when you deliver material we can take seriously. I mean look at Mo’nique – she was a comedienne but she just won an Oscar. Anything is possible if you work hard enough i guess – having trillions to burn will probably help too.

If she doesn’t stand up straight she’ll be a hunchback before we know it…even though she is laughing all the way to the bank, I am crying as her net worth grows…

this little girl better save all her money becus she has no future in movies. her twangy awful talking voice is like nails on a blackboard. she can’t stand up straight. chews gum like a cow. can’t even offer half way decent advice to contestants on american idol. who the heck put her there anyway – she’s a 17 year old hillbilly in too short shorts. good thing she knows how to pole dance becus that will be her future when her money runs out.

This is actually one of the saddest stories to come out of Disney. We watched Hannah Montana and enjoyed the show. Last night we saw Miley Cyrus’s new music video, I was appalled and felt queazy. I am so disappointed in her parents especially her Dad who is supposed to be aware of all the “Hollywood” pitfalls. I would never let my child emulate her. This is disgraceful and sad.
