Jessica Simpson is in New York this week to continue her neverending promotion for The Price of Beauty. One thing you have to give Jessica, once she actually gets a job, she’s rather tireless in her promotional duties. Anyway, Jessica appeared on both Good Morning America and The View this morning, and she’s got some new print interviews too. First, her Good Morning America interview. I’ll admit, when Jessica dropped the whole “God was testing me” within the first minute, I rolled my eyes. But she has some intelligent moments, like when she was talking about skin bleaching and stuff. Here’s the clip:
But the real magic came with Jessica’s appearance on The View. You know those women were going to have a field day, and it struck me that Jessica would be a perfect fill-in/replacement hostess if Elisabeth ever got fired (cough cough please cough). First though: her styling. She looks terrible. Bad makeup, horrible dress. Yikes. Anyway, Jessica talks about how if she’s not married with kids by the time she’s 40 years old, she and Ken Paves are going to have a child together. She also talked about John Mayer, saying that after his Playboy interview, “My phone has been ringing. It’s more embarrassing because I’ll walk into a restaurant and I’ll notice that more men are looking at me and I feel like they’re undressing me. [I haven’t spoken to him.] He’ll never have his napalm again.” And when asked if Mayer said dumb things when they were dating, she said “I only thought he was dumb for dumping me.” Poor Jess. Way to finally have some standards, Jess. Didn’t watch the interviews, because she kind of bugs me. At the same time though, I don’t think she deserves all the hate she gets.

@Ana…DEFINITELY. I’m thinking a couple things: 1) she’s just gained a little weight in her face and it’s showing around her eyes 2) she’s drinking constantly so her eyes are always puffer and thus appear smaller or 3) when she was super-thin amid eye-job rumors she was on some sort of stimulant like Adderall – when I was on it it made my eyes kind of “bug out” and appear larger.
I don’t think she could have had an eye lift, because as far as I know those things don’t reverse themselves?

She is so-unclassy to keep bringing up John Mayer’s comments about her in bed. Even though Simpson says she’s angry, she keeps talking about it, reminding the world one more time of how sexy she is.
I thought at the beginning that she might have secretly enjoyed being called “sexual napalm.” If she really, sincerely hated it, she wouldn’t be bringing it up at every available opportunity.

For those who say that her styling is awful? Just wondering – hope you are not the same people who say that Jennifer should wear longer dresses. Here we have an example of a “longer” dress and dressing her age and then she is critized. These poor women – they just can’t do anything right can they?
And for talking about John. I think good for her. She is making fun of it and in the process he looks stupid. I hate it when famous people pretend that they don’t know that is being said about them and act like it doesn’t bother them. We all know that all famous people know everyting about what is being said about them – so why not address it.

I believe she doesn’t hate the compliment in and of itself, who doesn’t want to be sexy? But its a different thing to have that fact spread around to all the people you know out loud, in crude comments. And now multiply the people who are hearing these crude things to the entire world full of internet, and I can see why she is upset about it. And it seems to me it is probably brought up to her most of the time.
And Lucy – she is not fat, or even slightly plump, she just has a voluptuous build. And bad dressing skills.
